Auto Renewal with No Notification then Termination Fee
I had a three year contract with Central Payment Corp . I could not terminate the contract without incurring a fee. When the contract expired I sent a letter of termination. I was informed my account automatically renewed because I had not sent the letter of termination during the 30 days PRIOR to the termination date. I was then again subject to and charged a termination fee.
I received no notification my contract was up for automatic renewal. I was told I should have read the small print on the 9 page contract.
I am appalled at Central Payment Corps method of business and would strongly recommend using any other credit card service but them.

I would not advise anyone to do business with Central Payment Corporation. They charged me ridiculously high discount fees - much higher than the scam artist salesman talked about. Their salesman lied to me about everything important and I was trusting enough to sign his agreement without having our lawyer read it first (huge mistake). This was several years ago and I am still trying to stop them from withdrawing money from my bank account. The last withdrawal was for $995.00 for a cancellation fee. They may be operating within the law but I doubt it. My opinion is that they are nothing but crooks! Now pursuing legal action against them.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
My husband was at our place of Biss. on 10/04/2010.
Our Credit Card machaine wasn't working . He called
and they walked him threw everything possible to try and correct the problem. It worked for a little while and quit again. He said he was transferred so many times. He got upset.
Today 10/05/2010 I had a lady open up for me. And the machine wasn't working I haven't had a service rep. in almost 2 yrs. I was on the phone from home since 11:30 am. And now it is 1:50 pm. I told everyone that I talked too. to let me know where there was a machine, so I could go and pick it up. If I was transferred (1) time it was at least (30). this is so frusturating to be bounced around like a ball and still not get anything done in this one day.
I'm going to lose alot of money today by them not sending a machine out last night. I was told that there was a service rep. ( 1 hr) away, I was going to go and pick up a machine if he had one. Carlos was the last person I talked too, he said that the rep probley didn't have one. ( HEY CAN SOMEONE CALL TO SEE IF HE HAD ONE. ) You would think so after all the trouble that I have been threw today.
I asked to speak to a superviser Carlos said he was one. I asked to speak to someone over him. He said he didn't know what I was wanting. I asked for a phone number of the corp office. he gave me the same number I had been calling all----------------- morning long.
My contract will be up after the first of the year and guess what. Hope this helps someone !
Nery Espinal - Merchant Relations - Central Payment contacted me via email today and gave me a phone number. I called and talked with him - Central Payment has dropped the early cancellation fee - and the entire run around about getting a letter from my landlord that I am in fact closing. So my opinion of Central Payment has now changed. I had been with them for five years and had never had a problem - NOW I AM HAPPY TO REPORT that they in fact DO have customer support and ARE willing to make changes. I can once again Recommend them as a company that is able to provide Merchant Credit Solutions for small business

It was a pleasure speaking with you this morning. I appreciate your remarks and am glad we were able to correct any misunderstandings. As per our conversation your account has been closed with no cancellation fee. You will only be responsible for the monthly processing fees for the month of October 2011.
If you don’t mind, please email me when you have addressed the postings online so that I may update my executives. Feel free to keep my information in your records should you find the need to accept credit cards again in the future.

I just got off the phone with Central Payment - San Rafael CA - I have been using them as my credit card merchant service for 5 years. I was told that the only way I can cancel is to pay them a $300 early cancellation fee -Early? I have been with them for 5 years - my original contract was for three years - apparently they renew the contract automatically every year for a year. I am closing my business - apparently they will refund $150 if I get my landlord to send them a certificate that I have in fact closed my business. First why this cancellation fee? Second why should I get my landlord involved? Central Payment is NOT a company to do business with - they will screw you on the front end with high entry fees and an expensive credit swipe terminal, next they will increase their fees and finally when you want to leave they will hit you with a very high fee just to quit using them. Anyone reading this DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH CENTRAL PAYMENT
