I have hired CenterPoint energy to install an air conditioner. I am going through CenterPoint for the financing. They're charging way more than other places but I thought the finance option would be worth it. I have changed my mind. I will get financing elsewhere.

We were quoted for a 2 ton AC unit. The installation crew installed a 2.5 ton by accident, people make mistakes, I get it. It worked great though. But then they came and removed it, and replaced it with a 2 ton that didn't work at all. The install techs spent two days trying to get it working properly. Then someone from CenterPoint came out and said we need to put another AC unit in. That's the third unit in a week... 4 days that they have been here so far and they're not done yet... They're taking time away from my job, and that's costing me money. I am NOT happy.

The new AC doesn't work properly either. It's not blowing very cold. The Tech keeps talking down to me and blowing my concerns off which I REALLY don't appreciate.

The first install crew did a nice clean job. They were friendly and went way above and beyond to try to make us happy. The CenterPoint Tech is the complete opposite.

He cut a huge chunk out of our plenum and taped the crap out of it, and it still leaks air. We have worked very hard on this house for resale purposes. If someone comes to look at the house and sees this hack job on the furnace it's going to be a complete turn off! I want it to look decent. The initial installation crew understood that and were able to get the A Coil in without hacking the furnace up! Why did the CenterPoint Tech cut the plenum all up?

This 3rd AC won't turn off! It ran for HOURS after it has reached the correct temp in the house. It's not even hot outside! It's 73 degrees outside, the AC is set to 70 and it won't shut off when it reaches that temp! We have to shut it off manually. I'm going to end up with a $500 electric bill! What happens when it's 95 degrees outside if it needs to run constantly when it's nice out?

There was a frayed wire at the AC unit outside. I asked for it to be replaced and the CenterPoint Tech just wrapped it with tape! H e couldn't even center the 3rd AC unit on the concrete pad that's there!

I want to be done with this. I have been a customer with CenterPoint for 24 years! And this is the thanks that I get? I want the AC removed. I want the furnace plenum repaired PROPERLY! Order the correct parts and replace the ones that we cut all up. I am going to research and see if there's a different gas company available to go through. This is a bunch of crap. I am prepared to take legal actions if these issues aren't resolved.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I have lost my $250 septic pump, my son's $400 Xbox, and several exotic fish in my aquariums so far due to all these power outages and surges. Note, the above list does not include the surges (where power was lost for a few seconds and came back on). Our neighbors have lost a/c units and refrigerators also. I am angry... They keep sending crews out to band-aid the situation instead of actually fixing the problem. One of these days, a fire will start and people will lose their homes - or worse. This need to be taken to the highest level in the company so things can get repaired out here. There are a lot of angry people, as you can imagine. It's the middle of summer and 90+ degree weather. Many of these days there was no a drop of rain in the sky and no wind. They just keep making up excuses, and we're tired of it.

Contractors replacing electrical lines in Forest Cove (Kingwood) on behalf of Centerpoint. No notice to homeowners when electricity was abruptly shut off in the middle of summer. The contractors are also disconnecting the internet lines and phone lines that belong to Centurylink so that all of us working from are cut off of meetings without notice. This is unacceptable and with no notice about these repairs, causing a loss of income for those of us working from home.

Almost two months ago our neighbor called Centerpoint about a gas leak. They were smelling gas in their backyard after AT&T dug for their fiber placement. Upon Centerpoint investigation, the leak was found in the pipe on my side of the fence and Centerpoint has a crew dig up a 6x6 section of my backyard and left deep furrows from the backhoe they used. The repair man assured me someone would call to make sure I was home because I have dogs and they be out soon to fix the damage to the yard, French Drain and tread marks. I placed a call on June 15th, three weeks after the repair, and they told me they would file a repair report and someone would be out in 10 to 15 business days since the report was file on June 15, not the original May 28, 2021 when the damage was done. It has now been 13 business days since that call and still no repair.

My wife, who is on dialysis at home, and I purchased a ($10, 000.) Generac Generator which required a gas meter upgrade. They upgraded my meter was June 9th., 2021. The meter, which we paid ($350.) for the upgrade, was installed improperly and is crooked. The Tech told me he did not have THE PROPER PIPING REUIRED ON HIS TRUCK. One of the steel pipes on the left, connected to the meter is (5") shorter, plus or minus, than the pipe on the right! ! ! The Meter Dial is crooked! CenterPoint Customer Service told me when I called them that they would have a service Tech come to my home to fix the problem yesterday, July 1st. between the hour's of (8:00 A. M.) &
(8:00 P.M.). The representative told me the Technician would call (30 Minutes) prior to arriving at my home! My wife delayed her dialysis because the gas, obviously, would be turned off during the repair. No one ever called us or came to our home! ! ! When I called to inquire about what happen, the representative told me no one came because it takes (3) to (4) days for an investigative technician to come out and see what is wrong with the meter ! ! ! Why didn't the first representative tell us that instead of saying they would be at our home at the times referenced above?

A Ms. Miles, a Supervisor, called and left a message on our answering machine today, July 2, stating a Tech would be at our home today? How does she know we will be home or not? The number she left to call her was CenterPoint's standard Customer Service number. You have to wait on the phone for (35 ), (4o), and sometimes (45) minutes to talk to someone! that's if your lucky! Sounds like it is time for an attorney to get involved to take on this Conglomerate ! Thank God my wife and I are wealthy and believe me, we wills pend the money both with Attorney and also with local TV Stations, if required!

I requested my gas be turned off after i moved out of my apartment, by calling center point, additionally i submitted an electronic request a week later since i did not receive any email confirming my request. A week after that i called again to confirm my request was being processed only to be told that they never received a phone call from me (not accurate), i was then told that i did not need to pay anything and the online request system takes a while and it will catch up and process my request. Fast forward a month later i am still charged for gas i never used and an additional fee.

When a customer calls to say they have moved out and no longer need service and you clearly can see that no gas has been used and you still charge the customer, there is a problem, it is called integrity. If i had a choice i would never use center point again, it is not about the money is the principal

I do have the warranty repair and maintenance plan.
Last couple years responsiveness is very bad.
We consistent missing spring winter and fall maintenance because isnoavailavleappointments
Example spring maintenance date only available July 15. Scheduling practice to 8:00am to 8:00 pm you have to wait for the technician.
Because is not capable to provide the service what we pay over 5years my central air broken down in the very hot weather when I try to make appointments was only available in 3-4 weeks.
I pay over the 100$ monthly and cannot schedule appointments. The representative told me it is not Center point Energy problem and nothing can do.
I believe is very bad business.

On 23 June 2021 @ 3:45 PM CST, a CenterPoint Energy Gas/electric line-marker (who later identified himself as Ricky) arrived at my house, banging on my front door. When my wife spoke through the door for him to introduce himself, he became obnoxious and disrespectful to my wife claiming that she disrespected him by not opening the door immediately. Following this outburst, he still failed to identify himself or the reason for his arrival. Instead he began threatening my wife to depart without doing the job as "he would be paid regardless." Throughout the ordeal, he continued to be sarcastic and unprofessional towards my wife.

I have captured this exchange on our doorbell dash and was also on the phone with my wife as this took place.

June 22, 2021 Clown company send someone to the house to connect Gas. gas is already on. Called already on June 16 to transfer the name from previous tenant to us. They told me that gas WILL NOT BE TURNED OFF JUST THE NAME WILL BE TRANSFERED. June 22 a Technician came to the house at 0700 which no one was home decide to close the valve for no reason and said there was no one home and can not service the house. EMAIL SAID THEY WILL CALL 30MIN PRIOR TO ARRIVING. No call what so ever. Called customer service regarding the e-mail at 1158AM. SIR THERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE, YOUR SERVICED IS ALREADY DONE. At 1444 wife texted that there is no gas. she called and told her she has to wait for the technician to open the valve. WHY was it closed in the first place. I'm SORRY your company can't be that DUMB! COMMON SENCE NEEDS TO KICK IN!

They came onto my property to "fix" a leak. No one was at home, so after they changed out the meter, they put a lock on it, now I am getting the run around to get it back on. I did not know they even came by until my gas dryer did not work. I searched the internet and spent 3 hours taking my dryer apart to trouble shoot it. When I took a shower, the water was not hot, I checked the meter, saw it was replaced, a lock on it, and my gate broken. I called centerpoint and asked them why they were on my property. They said I had a gas leak outside SINCE 4-15-21. The lady was rude, so I asked for a manager. She was rude also. I asked why I was not informed of a small gas leak, she said that they are not required to tell the homeowner, and that small leaks are just monitored, and fixed when they have someone available! An ACTIVE GAS LEAK for 4 weeks is not important? (Just listen to the prompt when you call centerpoint) Please listen the recording because she did say this. She also told me she was going to talk to the manager for the next morning to call me and to stay on this, and that I would be the first service call. And we all know that is another lie (8am to 5pm I am told, and that there is nothing they can do) I was lied to, damage was done to my property, and now I am getting the run around. I want the night manager that lied to me to call me to apologize, I want the day manager that hung up on me to call me to apologize, I want to know what the real reason my gas meter was changed out, and I want my gate to my backyard fixed. (no not $, want centerpoint to hire someone to fix the gate. I don't want to waste anymore. Just got off the phone with another manager, and she now said there was not a gas leak, that the manager last night is newer, and that she may have read the code wrong.

Lewis Tree company, contracted by CenterPoint Energy; didn't complete there job on 4/20/21, which in a few days later the wind blew trees & trimmings on to the powerline anyway, where the Fire trucks was called out because of fire and smoke. HFD said to call CenterPoint energy.
CenterPoint came out and brought down what was left behind from the Tree Company and left it there.
All I want is the Tree company or a different service to come out and finish the job and repair my fence where it was damaged, PLEASE.
Trim back the trees and branches from my fence line, which was cleared before the Tree company came out in the 1st place.
I called the Tree company the day after on 4/21/21 from the card that was left on my door; to ask were they planning on coming back to finish the job...that person took my information and said he will get back with me, until this day he has not.

I feel that Centerpoint Energy is playing games with me over this.  I already went through the trouble of contacting my former landlord and she provided information for you of when we moved out.  How can I be a valued customer when you have already decided not to help me, as a policy?  I already jumped through your hoops, to no avail.  I do not believe you want my experience with CenterPoint Energy to be exceptional.  Unfortunately, I have no other choice when it comes to this utility.  If you would look back through our email exchanges in this matter, you will see that my previous landlord already provided you with information that should have cleared this matter up a long time ago.  I am very disappointed in your disregard for integrity.  You make it rough for a senior and veteran with recent medical problems, including having a stent put in near my heart.  You are guilty of causing unnecessary stress in my life, which I'm supposed to avoid!. This is all because you have a policy wherein you are always right and the customer is always wrong when it comes to notifying you of cut-off of service.

I request that a supervisor look into this matter to see how wrongfully I've been treated, and to finally be reimbursed for the money Centerpoint Energy has stolen from me.  - Bob Voyles

I have a registered complaint with Centerpoint that is more than two weeks old. I have left three voicemails regarding it. The adjuster has never called or contacted me on claim. Their numerous "power surges" - their words - caused a running appliance to malfunction. Centerpoint auto recorded message said problem was repaired by replacing "equipment". Claim number is EP2021188149.

You need to start giving us/people notice before you cut power off again! Giving people the ability to be/get prepared would solve 90 percent of the problems that get caused by these incompetent power shut downs.

These temperatures over the next few days are temps we have dealt with forever. Someone is going to pay a huge price for the incompetent actions that have been taken over the past few days.

I in no way shape of form believe that if you can send me a message to conserve or that my power has been shut off that you can't warn me in advance when it will be shut down. How about exercising a little competence in advance rather than trying to make excuses after the fact?

No timetable has been given to power outages. Power has been out for over 2 days with no sight of it being restored. I have called several times seeking answers and have received no responses and have had customer service hang up on me several times. The situation is very serious and people could die as a result of their lack of response. CenterPoint needs to address this issue or there will be blood on their hands.

We have experienced a 35 hour (so far) power blackout on 02/15 and 02/16 in sub-freezing temperatures. The rest of the state of Texas is experiencing rolling blackouts but ours never comes back on. There is no report of anything broken or needing repair. As far as we can tell the power company is just not including us in the power rationing. Furthermore no one answers when we try to call. The automated system basically says representatives are not available and then hangs up on us. It is freezing cold. This is inappropriate and unacceptable.

This company and perhaps others have been supplying power services to the Sterling Pointe Apartments on Dunlap at in Houston th.

I want to make a formal complaint about the amount of power outages that happen to all the apartment sections as well as perhaps only one of the sections with the complex. I have and my daughter and her two little babies will sit sometimes over night waiting for the power to restore. We cannot get I touch with the service provider ever! And the map of the outage is non responsive. There is no information at all even with the staff at the office of. The apartments.

I am contacting you, because the power is out again at the apartments and she and the babies have had to sit in the car to stay warm. She and I are already going through the COVID pandemic and at the very least would like to have our power restored as soon as possible. If this was an every once in awhile situation, we could be understanding with some kind of information about the progress of being restored.

I would like for you to consider this as a formal complaint to look into the service of the provider of this complex and repair or make necessary changes to allow the residents there to have far less power outages. That still have to pay the charges to them.

Had solar energy systems installed by Solar Solutions of America in August 2020 at the following addresses: 12921 Kuykendahl, Houston, Tx, 23410 Snook rd, Tomball, Tx (2 systems one is active the other is not). 9521 FM 2920, Tomball, Tx.

All of the systems have been installed for some time now and were supposed to be activated "before Christmas". Centerpoint is unresponsive and clearly doesn't care. Monopolies are bad for the economy and Centerpoint is abusing its monopoly privileges.

Just cancelled my Home Service Plus today (10/19/2020) after being a customer of that program since, at least, 1998. In the past year, I have called to have covered work completed no less than seven (7) times. None of the work was actually completed, by them. I had my chest freezer looked at and was told "The compressor is bad, it'll be $900 to fix and that part is not cover on your plan." Long story short, had another company come in and replace a thermostat ($250) and I am still using that freezer today. That thermostat was confirmed by a phone call as being covered under my plan. Took three months of rescheduling (on CPE's part) to have a part ordered for my non-functioning dishwasher. Finally, I had to look up the part, order it through them and I installed it when it was delivered. Had my furnace looked at due to it not firing up. The tec order a blower for it. When it was delivered, I made an appointment to have it installed. That tec showed up and said the entire furnace was bad and was having a sales person contact me! Ended up needing to have a furnace and AC installed. It was scheduled for 10/13. Took the day off work to be home for the install as they said it was an all day install. No one showed up! CPE failed to let the sub-contractor know the correct day! If I had a choice to switch gas companies, I would. But, they know I don't and they treat as such. Very disappointed!
