Wanted to update this complaint. In addition to the name CATHY PAYNE, the name CATHY WHITE HILLARD is affiliated with CC5STAR MI-KIs.

There is a new development in my dog with CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE that I purchased from CATHY PAYNE of CC5STAR MI-KIs. My dog has now developed a BAD TEMPERAMENT! A couple of days ago she attacked my 6-month-old Mi-Ki puppy leaving a 1 1/2 inch long gash in the puppy's neck. Fortunately it was not a serious injury THIS TIME. She tried to attack my husband today as he walked past her while she was laying in her favorite place under the end table. She tried to start another fight with the same puppy tonight, but I was able to stop it before it really got serious. Now we are faced with yet another HEARTBREAK! We MUST either find a home without any other pets or children that is willing to take a sick dog that requires daily medication, might bite, and will only live a few years at best, or putting this dog to sleep.

BUYER BEWARE! CATHY PAYNE is breeding SICK dogs and dogs with BAD TEMPERAMENTS and DOESN'T CARE. She will NOT reply to any of my emails. She never picked up a certified letter I mailed to her. It was returned to me after three notices.

AVOID this PUPPY MILL and save yourself a multitude of heartaches.

IF you are reading this and have gotten a sick dog or dog with a bad temperament from CATHY PAYNE of CC5STAR MI-KIs, please post your story. PUPPY MILLS like this MUST be stopped for the sake of the dogs and the people who purchase puppies.

Get a life instead of harassing people who are trying to warn and help others!

When grieving over the loss of one beloved pet and looking for another, plus dealing with an excellent con-artist, one's judgment may not be as good as it should be. After seeing a puppy's picture for 7 weeks and having MANY long discussions with the breeder, a certain amount of trust is built up. I tend to believe people rather than always thinking I can't trust anyone. First the breeder requested the final payment on the puppy via PayPal because supposedly she lived out in the country and it would save her a trip into town to her bank to deposit a check plus making me wait for that check to clear prior to picking up the puppy. She also didn't want that amount of money in cash also because of requiring a trip to the bank. The final payment was requested on Friday evening prior to the recently agreed on pick-up on Sunday. Once that final payment was made, the pick-up was no longer convenient at her home because supposedly she would be in town for other errands. Requesting the final payment in advance via PayPal should have been a HUGE red flag. I know now that I should have just given up my deposit and moved on to another breeder. I was already in love with the puppy and ignorant about many things about this particular breed. Puppy mills prey on the innocent and ignorant people who are only looking for a wonderful pet to love.

I KNOW Cathy Payne won't be doing anything for ME. The only thing I can do is try to warn others so they do not end up with a heartache like mine.

Research ANY breeder thoroughly. Research the breed you want thoroughly. NEVER pay in full in advance. NEVER buy from a breeder who will NOT allow you to see where their dogs are raised, all of their dogs, and the parents of your puppy in person. NEVER buy from a breeder who will NOT send you the puppy's pedigree from either AKC or a Rare Breed Registry along with copies of the parents DNA, CERF and OFA in advance of even putting a deposit down on that puppy.

Unfortunately, even the rare breeds, like the Mi-Ki, have many puppy mills in operation. These can immediately be recognized because they register their puppies with a PET registry like APRI, instead of using a Mi-Ki registry. Even if they say they dual register with a Mi-Ki registry and something like APRI, it is still a HUGE red flag because there is absolutely NO need to register with a registry like APRI. ALL Mi-Ki puppies should be registered with a Mi-Ki registry because no one at APRI cares if you are really breeding Mi-Ki to Mi-Ki because they will register anything and everything.

Too bad, Zachary, that you felt the need to make the victim feel bad rather than simply supporting the importance of educating and trying to protect others from getting into the same or a similar situation.
