CarTrawler car rental reference gr501075

My name si Mitica Guliu and I booked a car rental from your site under the reference GR501075. We were supposed to pick up the car on 4/17 from Yours car rental Chania airport. Your local partner showed as a Fiat Doublo (no luggage space, 5 regular seats+2 extra - smaller in the rear area).

The greek clerk appoligized for the inconvienence and offered us the solution to calcel the reservation, since they din not have available a proper car.

They said they received no money and the refund of funds must be directed to you.

We wrote an email to you on the same day(cartrawlersupport@cartrawler.com, 4/17), yet no response was received.

We request the refund of the amounts charged in advance.

CarTrawler car rental

I rented a car for 12 days via Car Trawler (IE517324110). The rental company was Dollar who is owned by Hertz. Car Trawler charged me $225 for the rental. When I got to Dublin Airport The car was upgraded and I agreed to pay for the upgrade. When I got the bill the $225 I paid Car Trawler was not applied. Hertz says will not refund me and Car Trawler has not responded to my request for a refund. This is outright fraud and thievery.

CarTrawler website error causing double booking

Subject : booking reference number: es563639070 / confirmation no. [protected]

On sunday 14 april, I tried to make a car rental booking via the ryanair car hire link and selected a car for pick-up at alicante airport with the hire firm centauro. at the moment of payment I was informed by a message on the screen that there was a technical problem and that the payment was not processed. after several attempts, I gave up and made a different booking (ref. es563639070) on the same site with inter rent, for which payment was confirmed without problem. however, having now checked my emails I see that both reservations were in fact successful. I therefore wish to cancel es563639070 with inter rent - but I do not agree to pay the cancellation fee since this error was not due to any fault on my part. I was informed that the first reservation (es563623190) was unsuccessful due to a technical error.

I have contacted ryanair but have not received any reply other than an automatic message warning me that I have two bookings on the same day. if I try to cancel one, however, I will be charged the cancellation fee of +/- 25 euro, which is not justified given the circumstances.

Could you please therefore cancel the booking made with inter rent ref. es563639070 and refund me the amount paid - eur 59.69

I confirm that I intend to keep the first reservation I made with centauro (ref. es563623190)

Please confirm the above as soon as possible. thank you.

CarTrawler cancellation carhire pt434699630

Hallo,

Ik heb mij met mijn voucher van ref. PT434699630 gisteren bij de balie van Budget gemeld.

De dame achter de balie heeft de voucher aangenomen en ik heb mijn paspoort, rijbewijs en creditcard overlegd.

De dame heeft de gegevens opgenomen en als laatste moest ik de pincode van mijn creditcard ingeven.

Helaas had ik deze niet binnen handbereik. Dat is normaal geen probleem. Ik huur geregeld auto's en heb nog NOOIT de pincode van mijn creditcard nodig gehad.
Er is altijd een handmatige manier om mijn creditcard voor de borg te gebruiken, behalve bij deze dame van Budget.

Hier ben ik echter niet van gediend. Dit mag en kan nooit de reden zijn om de huurovereenkomst te annuleren!

Ik heb mij vervolgens bij Europcar gemeld en kon daar zonder enig probleem een auto huren met mijn creditcard ZONDER pincode!

Probleem : bij Budget betaalde ik € 79, 71 voor een Opel Corsa of soortgelijk, bij Europcar € 293, 70

Ik heb niet voor deze situatie gekozen dus ga van een passende oplossing uit.

CarTrawler car hire

We booked car hire through Ryanair, however we were late in picking up at the airport, the same day, and interent cancelled our car and did not refund the amount we paid. They also wanted to charge as an extra 200 euros for another car.
In the end we had to pay 55 euros in a taxi to our apartment, then an extra 80 euros for another car hire the following day. They said it wasn't they're problem. We contacted Ryanair and they told us we had to contact you for refund.

CarTrawler car rental

I booked a car rental via EasyCar (billing through Cartrawler). On arrival, they refused to rent me the car, claiming my license must be British since I have a British address. There is no legal basis for this, but they said it's their policy (not stated in T&Cs). They cancelled the booking and said I would be eligible for a refund, so I contacted EasyCar and Cartrawler. Both refused, on the basis that the pickup time had already passed, even though I had no control over this and had provided all necessary documentation but was refused anyway. Awful service, avoid like the plague

CarTrawler refusing refund for car rental

Having booked car rental through europcar via car trawler, my husband had to return the vehicle earlier. Europcar has advised that they have refunded the amount back to cartrawler, however cartrawler say they cannot refund the money because they state that they cannot accommodate changes in customers' travel plans!

You are thieves! You accept the refund from europcar, to which we received confirmation, yet you will not refund the money! You are disgusting!

CarTrawler car rental

Initially made a booking (18 March) online & after paying l received confirmation & the times were different to what l had chosen.
I got in touch with them (18 March)& decided to cancel the booking as they would have to charge to amend the times.
They told me they would send me a refund. I didn't receive one so contacted them again.
After a text chat with Paul (today 27 March)l decided to run with the booking & just work around the times.
Paul was very helpful & offered to put my flight number on the booking. Brilliant, thank you.
Next think my phoned pinged & Cartrawler had taken £24 from my credit card.
Firstly, there was no mention of any charges.
Secondly l wasn't made aware Cartrawler were going to take anymore money.
This is not on. Totally wrong.
I now wish to just cancel the whold thing & receive a FULL refund as soon as possible.

Never ever use this service in any part of the world!

I would like to share with you my sad story of an attempt to use their service.

Booking ID was PL514792910.

I went to Warsaw with my wife and my 1-year-old daughter and booked a car by this dammed service.

For the beginning everything was good enough they charge the money from my credit card. They even helped me to check if there was a baby seat included to the order so I had got an additional confirmation of my reservation from the Cartrawler and the service provider on the side of local car rental service.

You can't even imagine how much I was surprised when I came to the desk and they said that they don't have any car for my booking.

So I have spent half a day with a little child trying to solve this unexpected problem!
And if you have a child you can understand that wasn't good for me not for the child either.

But the jokes from CarTrawler didn't stop when I asked them to give my money back they begin to ask strange things:
I was asked to provide my credit card copy
then they said that the answer from polish service provider was that I haven't shown a valid international driving permit at the rental desk.

But I have an international driving license and had never had any problem in any other EU country!

They have refused to refund my money and if you don't what to have such an awful experience your self you better choose another service.

CarTrawler unethical behavior

I booked car hire through ryanair for my holiday in austria from 9th to 16th feb 2019.

On arrival at saltzburg I had to wait over an hour to get booked in with the carhire firm that ryanair use, which is megadrive.

The car hire firm took a 50 euro fuel deposit, which was to be refunded if the car was returned with the tank full... However, there was a notice displayed in the office that stated if the car hire firm had to fill the car, they could do it at a cheaper rate than the fuel stations as they had a 'deal'.

As I only used about 10 to 12 litres and had been held up getting to the airport, due to an accident on the motorway, I thought that I would take them up on their 'deal'...

The car was returned, they checked it over and also marked the fuel level on the return form (it showed between full and 3/4 full).

On returning home to the uk, I found that the car hire firm had taken the full 50 euro from my fuel deposit.

I have queried this with them and the claim I used 12 litres (which they charged at a higher rate than shown on many petrol stations!)... A 15 euro filling up charge, (which I could not see detailed anywhere on their contract)... Plus 17 % tax on all this, plus airport charges!
And all this added up to exactly the same amount as the fuel deposit!...50 euros.

They refused to refund anything.

I would never recommend this company to anyone... And I would be very wary of using ryanair services again.

Hello All,

I have been a victim of Cartrawler in Italy too. We rented with them last year with a French bank card (which usually doubles up as a credit card as well), On reaching the airport kiosk we were told that the card was invalid and that we would have to buy an extra 200 euro insurance to make it magically go away. My concern is with the fact that the company allows online payments to be made with this card and then refuses to accept it at the spot. Booking with an unacceptable card can be avoided in the first place. Anyway we fought the customer care for a bit and then since I have an IT background, I decided to do something about it. We are building a service to streamline and simplify the legal process of compensation for conned users. We are looking to understand if people would be interested in our initiative. CarTrawler terrible customer service

We have booked a car hire and added extra insurance with CarTrawler. ( Within the UK)

When the insurance policy was sent by email, this was in what seem to be in German. We could not understand a world of it!

We emailed to complain and was simply told:

Thank you for your response.

Please be advised that as the booking was made with a German residency the system will automatically provide the insurance documents in that language. I apologise if this was not satisfactory however if you were unhappy with this you had sufficient time to contact us and request in another language or cancel if you wished. Unfortunately as we were not contacted prior to pick up, we cannot cancel the policy or provide a refund for it.

I apologise once again that we are unable to offer you another outcome.

We did not book under a 'German Residency ' and have made numerous complaints about the service without a satisfactory response.

Not only this, but we were denied our car when we arrived as we did not have a credit card under the name of the driver. Dispite having enough money to cover the excess as deposit ( Approx £1200)

Terrible service made even worse by slow and awful customer service.

CarTrawler car rental in bangkok thailand

I am writing in to request for a refund for car rental vehicle being charged twice.

I have made a car rental reservation for Bangkok from 06th to 10th Dec 18 through expedia.com.sg website on 29Nov. I did not receive any confirmation of the car rental and have called Expedia support on 03Dec 18 to ensure that my reservation was all in order. Expedia cannot find my reservation and told me that the reference number quoted was not correct.

As there was no confirmation given and Expedia also cannot verified that all my reservation was all in order, I made another reservation on 03Dec 18.

Upon collect the car at Bangkok Airport, Europe car rental could verify that it was a double reservation as all details were the same and would only charged me for one car as I only need one vehicle and not two.

My credit card was being charged twice and would appreciate that you can arrange refund of one of the vehicle rental charge of $258.25 to me.

I have attached details for your verification.

I have tried to call Expedia support hotline but they just cannot assist me and keep telling me the reservation did not belong them and all the confirmation references was not correct.

CarTrawler private pickup at malta

On Thursday 20 September, we flew from Edinburgh to Malta, booking reference TSH67F, and booked
transfers through yourselves - reference MT392721710 from the airport to hotel and the reverse
coming home on Tuesday 25 September.

We arrived in the arrival lounge just after 12.30 and looked for our driver. There was no sign of him.

I then switched my phone on (as it was off due to the flight) and a text came through confirming the pick
up. As yet no one had appeared and it was now 12.45 we went to the help desk/tourist information
when I then called the garage and was told a driver was on his way and would be there in 5 minutes and
that we should wait at the coffee shop.

We stayed there and at 1.10 called again to be told - he is on his way and must be stuck in traffic and he
will be there is 5 minutes.

5 Minutes later, still no-one. My wife spotted someone wearing a T-shirt with the logo of William's
Garage on it. I approached him and he phoned the office for us.

He didn't get a reasonable answer and so decided to take us himself.

On walking out the airport he was approached by a man entering the airport. The man turned to my
wife and said I'm stressed - NO apology.

Words were then had between the 2 drivers, resulting in the 2nd man (the one who should have turned
up) going off in a huff! And the man in the T-Shirt taking us to our hotel.

By this time my wife and I were extremely stressed, not a great start to our 30th wedding anniversary.

The time we left the airport was just after 1.20 almost an hour later.

The day of departure was not any better.

We vacated our room at 11am as the pick was due at 12, again a text was received confirming this.

By 12.10 there was no driver so I called and the lady answering the phone had no record of our booking
and said she only had a booking for 5pm that day.

I persisted with the call and gave her our booking reference, when she then said he was on his way and
would be there is 5 minutes. I called again at 12.25, as there was still no sign of him and my wife was
getting very upset and distressed. Again I was told he would be there in 5 minutes.

By this time, my wife had spoken to the hotel receptionist as they could see she was getting upset and
she asked how long it would take to get to the airport as our flight was at 2.45. She was told 45 minutes.

The time was now 12.35 so we asked the hotel to book a taxi for us, which they did, costing us 30 euros
(5euros for them to book and 25 euros for the fair for the taxi). Receipts for this attached.

The taxi the hotel had ordered and the company you provided both turned up at 12.45.

Again, as previously from your company - there was NO apology.

When we refused to go in the car with your company, he phoned his office and asked my wife to speak
to them, which she did and explained that we would not be using them as the service was atrocious and
that we would be asking for our money back, which she said we would need to do through yourselves.

We arrived at the airport at 1.50 and had to quickly find our departure gate - more stress.

Overall the experience of the transfers that you booked has been appalling.

We would like to be reimbursed for the cost of 4 calls, 30 euros for the taxi and a suitable distress and
inconvenience payment.

Also, I would like serious feedback to be provided to the company so that no one else experiences the
stress that we did.

CarTrawler car rented through ryanair.

On 1/09/2018 I hired a car out from easirent. It was far from easy! After over waiting 1hour in a que, we were told we had no insurance out even though we bought the premium cover with Ryanair so would have to block thousands on a card or pay even more for insurance cover. Which I did. Even though I had already purchased premium cover when making my booking. I was at no point made aware of these costs! I went with that company as they had the best price. Anyway after all this and I had booked for a nice sized car as I was bringing my father in law to have a cancer removal op (my reason for travelling to Dublin) easirent gave me keys to a tiny car. Honestly the way that company runs is horrendous. I have rented cars many times in Ireland but never directly through ryanair and I will never do so again and nor will any one we tell. I have also just had my son diagnosed with epilepsy hence my late complaint but I was adamant that you should know what is going on as it is far from fair to customers like me. I would appreciate my money back that was so slyly demanded and to have no more dealing with easirent ever again. It is also a very bad look for Ryanair to do this through there website.

CarTrawler car hire in france

I have contacted your company on a number of occasions and I have ha no response. I organised a car for my husband in France and everything was prepaid. He had my bankcard and all his own ID, PASSPORT, DRIVING LICENSE ETC, and no car was available. My husband is 72yrs of age and needed car to visit my sister. The individuals were not helpful an told my husband he could get no car and was left to wait for my sister who is 70plus to drive over 2hrs to collect. I have requested a refund but I have received no communication..

I would appreciate a response so I can seek clarity why this has happened as my Husband is now reluctant to travel again

CarTrawler transfer / kaunas

Booking LT833531770

The transfer I booked via Ryanair (agents for Cartrawler) from Daugirdas Hotel to Kaunas airport did not arrive. After ten minutes I rang the driver's number that had been texted to me - no response. I then phoned the UK contact number +44 [protected]. This was answered and I gave the booking number and my booking was confirmed. After fifteen minutes customer service phoned back and said the driver was on their way and should be with me in five minutes. Fifteen minutes later the driver called me, what time did I need to be at the airport? He advised that he hadn't received the booking but would come over as soon as possible.
Fortunately Kaunas airport is not too far from the city so when he arrived we did get to the airport in time to check in, however, we had spent 45 minutes hanging around the hotel foyer and incurring phone charges, so were not very impressed with the service.

CarTrawler cancel booking without notice

I have hired the car, but was later informed that the car was no longer available. It was suggested with a more pricey car which i have confirmed in email, but I felt something was wrong and hence follow up with a couple of emails but nobody replies. I went to site and checked 2 weeks before my vacation, and to my dismay it was cancelled, without any offical email nor notice.
It has a very poor service and i will not use this providerin future and will not recommends to my friends.

Dear CarTrawler,

Hi..

I have a complaint about two things :

1 . I have a complaint (Ref : KW459851110, Confirmation no. : 47152119UE0) regarding a car reservation that I made in Kuwait
airport from Nov, 30th to Dec 3rd, but unfortunately I couldn't take the
car because I forgot to bring my driving license.

I cancelled the reservation and I contacted Air Arabia and they said I should contact the agency...

I contacted Budget and they also said that I need to contact CarTrawler..

I am requesting for a refund please.

I have signed the cancellation in Budget office in the airport already.

Please look into the matter to solve it.

A copy of reservation confirmation is attached.
