Caribbean Cruise Line not providing what I paid for

I booked a 4 day, 3 night ocean front suite at Grand Lucayan Resort as part of a cruise pkg. in May 2012. When I went to schedule the cruise in Dec. 2012 for a May 2013 departure, I had multiple issues with Caribbean. The manager I originally booked the cruise with, Wendy Marlowe, ( ID#UA285) told me to contact her (#[protected]) should I have any difficulties; however, she cannot be located at this number. I paid $1, 267 for this cruise. My reservation number is UA051012-052.
Caribbean insists that I only booked 3 days and 2 nights at the GL. They also charged me $150 extra for 2 excursions to Las Vegas and Puerto Vallarta which I later learned were supposed to be FREE. My Visa bill in May of 2012 CONFIRMS this $150 payment to Caribbean.
I want a refund for the $150 and the 4 days and 3 nights at the GL that I booked and paid for. I appreciate you publicizing this information so that others are aware of Caribbeans lack of integrity . Thank you for your kind consideration to this matter.

Oh never mind I only booked for three days and two nights. I also realized that I got the contact number wrong it was ( ID#UA258) not ( ID#UA285). Then I got my son to read the contract(I am dyslexic and have trouble reading, especially if there are lots of "b"'s ''d"'s "p" and "q" in what I am reading. I got my son to explain to me and he told me the $150 was the port charge and taxes. As for the booking for 4 days and 3 nights that was simply a typo.

Caribbean Cruise Line Hidden Charges

First of all I had called a company to order something and they finished with order they asked if I would like a free cruise. Thats a joke! All they asked fees we didn't know anything about $70.00 there and charged for seven days and we only used it for five days. Then we got the paper with reservation and on it there was a resort fee: 30.00 a day for hotel taxes and surcharges for two nights, pier parking 15.00 a day ended up 30.00, bahammas celebration 48.00 for service charge, fuel charges of 48.00, and we asked the man on the phone did this have to be a timeshare. He said no nothing like that just we come back and tell everyone about the trip. So u see its not free at all! Don't beleive it. I am disappointed. I think we should have a apology and refund on some of the cost. We had any idea it would have costed this much we would have said forget it. This cost was counting the airfare, cost of gas and eating out some because the food at the Ramanda Plaza was not very good. It also needed some work done to it. You put us in a dangerous part of town, the elevators was messed up, and the bathroom was not clean. It was a dirty looking hotel and unsafe. So beware! [protected]@gmail.com Janice and James Sasser

Hello I have lodged a complaint against Carribean Cruise Lines as well . I was pressured to buy a two night cruise (crusing time is one night to Bahamas and one night to come back from Bahamas to Ft Lauderdale, FL) . Then two day stay at their Grand Lucayan resort . I wanted to cruise so called them to upgrade for more ship and cruise time rather than staying at their resort . Turns out I cannot cancel and I cannot upgrade . I am stuck and after reading people's experiences they sell time shares either on the ship or in their resort . Latest I heard was it is unsafe to travel with daughters (one complaint here said that ) . So very scared to avail this cruise but I am badly stuck

I purchased a caribbean 6 night 7 day cruise 2 years ago. which I have not taken, I was not told that it is difficult to get a flight from palm beach back to Norfolk, Va. the day the ship pulls back in. The trip starts with me flying to fort lauderdale florida. they did not tell me the cruise ship room was 9x9 and a bunk bed. I am 65, I do not sleep in bunk beds. Then I tried booking a flight to take this cruise, you drive from fort lauderdale to the ship in palm beach, on the ship 2 days then you arrive in Bahamas, you stay 2 days then come back to port in Palm Beach around 11:00 and check out of ship. The flights to Norfolk leave Palm Beach at 7:00 in the morning so finding a flight to get me back home was very trying. I still have not taken this cruise. I will gladly sell it to anyone for $200 less than I paid around $700.
There were too many uncertainty's for me about this trip. I would love a refund, but don't think now I'll get one.

Caribbean Cruise Line Fraud/Scam

I was watching one of those tv infomercials about the TummyTuck system which is this supposed amazing product that literally burns the fat right off you (I don't know if this is true or not..) anyways, I thought I'd try it so I called and ordered it over the phone and at the end of the order process the automated voice said as a thanks for holding, I had won a free 2-day cruise to the bahamas. They then connected me to a representative (he called himsef John and gave me his supposed employee ID, kb8093) of Caribbean Cruise Lines. He said that I had won a free 2-day cruise, congrats, etc. and the only thing I had to pay for was the port tax of $59, though he said I would pay $118 for 2 people because I definitly wasn't going by myself and might as well get it out of the way. I'm embarrassed to admit that I easily gave him my credit card #, CCV and expiration, my name, address, phone and e-mail. He then offered me a bonus "extra-stay" package for 75% off the normal price but I didn't want it and told him no. After trying to offer itto me again, he then moved on to another bonus package, which I also refused. He thenput on his "promotional manager" who said his name was Otis and then Otis tried to get me to purchase bonus packages at hugely reduced rates, which I also refused because I didn't want them. The next part is where I should have known to shut up but stupidly did not. He then asked for me to reaffirm my credit card #, etc. then asked me to hold. I was on hold for 35 minutes and then a voice came on saying something about my rush-delivery was on it's way and hung-up on me. I hadn't even ordered anything and they hadn't even given me the account number they said I should use to login online. I then went up to the website he gave me earlier and found that, though the website looked convincing, there was absolutly no contact information or names of employees/ CEO/etc. on a single page, which then made me start to worry because missing contact info is a big tip-off that it's a scam. I then typed in the company name into google to try and find it's home page and then up came all these articles about how a Caribbean Cruise Line company was a scam company. With my head hung low, I immediatly called my credit card provider and had them cancel the card. Thankfully, since I looked them up immediatly after they hung up(intent on calling them back and giving them a piece of my mind for making wait 30 min then ousting me) and immediatly called my CC company, no transaction had occured on my card and I had it canceled right away. Please spare yourself the humiliation of making my mistake or, if you have been pulled in by them, please do whatever you can ASAP so you can save whatever you have before it gets used up!

Caribbean Cruise Line Scam

I don't know what Stephanie Rodriguez is talking about but she should take a look at the Ocean Manor Hotel. That was supposed to be an upgrade to my original booking. You could film a movie in this ### hole. :HOTEL FROM HELL" Maybe you ought to take a look at it Step before you comment. As far as I'm concerned Caribbean Cruise Lines is a big scam & they don't respond to inquiries. The dog & pony show at the resort was a cluster f--k. We were a signature away from buying until that little Cuban Vato looked my wife in the face & said "You never had to damn intention of buying, did you" Really good salesman.

I can't believe that thsi company would actually send me another offer to go through the same crap that I just went through. If Stephanie Rodriguez thinks that $200.00 was going to make me feel better she is gravely mistaken. This venture was a real cluster f--k. Again, take a look at the Ocean Manor Horror Hotel.

Caribbean Cruise Line Harassing phone calls

After completing a phone survey which supposedly delivered a free Bahama cruise ( which I later found to be a scam ). I started receiving annoying "spoofing" phone calls from telemarketers as a result of my number being passed on by this Caribbean cruise lines co. I have filed a formal complaint with the FCC and if this does not stop I will complain to my congressman.

I've worked as a telemarketer for this company for years. If you purchase a package, it could very well be one of the worst decisions you ever make in your life. However, I will say this. They scam the telemarketers, like they scam the customers. Only better!

Caribbean Cruise Lines can be summed up in (1) one word: "DREADFUL".

Caribbean Cruise Line FRAUD

First let me say I own a timeshare. Yes, I love it. It's been great for my family. No it's never been a rip off. When I purchased my timeshare last year I got a "Free cruise". I signed up for my "Free cruise" in February. I knew I had to pay port charges. I knew I had to pay certain fees onboard the ship. In fact, I worked on cruiseships in the past so I knew the deal. When I called Caribbean Cruise Line to redeem my cruise they tried hard to upsell. They wanted me to rent a car- no I was driving. They wanted me to stay in their hotel- no I was staying at my timeshare. They wanted me to upgrade so that I could have a balcony, mini-bar, and queen bed for my husband and I to FINALLY share some time without the kids. YES I WANTED THAT so I paid the 99 extra. We were travelling to Nassau. YEA. I love Nassau. In March I get a letter that all of a suddden the ship is actually going to Grand Bahama. Um, that's FREEPORT which is basically a lump of coral in the middle of the ocean with one hotel on it. OK, I figure that's alright, we love to snorkel, fish, etc so we will do it. Then we get to the ship and we have BUNK BEDS. TWIN BUNK BEDS. Our "mini-bar" consisted of two bottles of water that we had to pay 3.45 each for. My husband and I went out to the terminal and spoke with "Mr Tillman" who said there was nothing he could do, as the ship was sold out. So we had to sleep in bunkbeds on the first vacation my husband and i have had without the kids in 2 years.

Yes, we paid for the snorkel trip of 75 bucks each, yes, we booked two massages of 75 bucks each, yes, we booked two pedicures of 40 bucks each, yes we paid to go to the "Cove" restaurant for $25 bucks each where there is supposed to be a dress code, excellent service, and good food (the latter 2 were correct- the dress code was not enforced). Yes, we bought two bottles of wine for $80 in total. Yes, they tax everything 15 percent for gratuity automatically. No problem with that. In total we spent $741 onboard the ship. FIne.

I have a problem with the "Upgrade" which was not an upgrade. I have a problem with going to Freeport when I had already paid for Nassau. I have a problem with Caribbean Cruise Lines, not the ship Bahama Celebration. They sell you LIES.

When I called Caribbean Cruise Line immediately after the cruise to complain I was transferred twice to "Customer SErvice". "JOan" in customer service told me that no one gets a mini-bar and that I was told I would be in bunkbeds. WHAT? I'm not a ###. When I asked her to check who that was who supposedly called me in May to confirm that we were in bunkbeds she would not do it. She kept saying "But how was the food". I said that I'm 120 lbs and food isn't the center of my life. She said "Did you have the smoked salmon?" I said "No, there was no salmon" then she started saying how she had the smoked salmon everyday. I said, "Joan, please don't change the point, everything else being the same I paid extra to be in a bed with my husband and you did not give me that". Then Joan said "Have you talked to compliance"? I said "Joan, I am in the parking lot of the cruiseship parking now. No, I haven't talked to anyone, that's why I'm calling you!" She said there was nothing she could do and gave me an address to write the compliance department. If you think I'm kidding about any of this, please see the pics. NEVER EVER EVER EVER book with Caribbean Cruise Line.

Hi everyone, extensive research went into this website - www.thecaribbeancruisescam.com
If you got scammed this site will help you get a refund or if you would like to see how big the scam really is please visit. Don't forget to file complaints. Revisit tripadvisor- reports of bed bugs. So gross. See pictures at tripadvisor site and do your research. From what I gather booking the Bahamas Celebration directly is the best bet for a quick getaway but the timeshare mix is a nightmare.

I made the same mistake in purchasing this so called vacation. They took me for $620. They (CCL) said several thing that are fraudlent and misleading. Changed my so vacation iternirary without any advanced notice. Be very careful about even thinking about this scam vacation; they are predators working out of "boiler" room. Kind of like the Maffia's "Pump & Dump" scheme. Why lose good money after bad? I was an idiot; There is no free lunch unless you work on Wall Street and get a federal bailout!

Caribbean Cruise Line Money Hungry Aggressive Sales Reps

I waited a long time to take a cruse. Three years ago, my hubby and I finally got the opportunity to do so. The rest of this situation can only be chalked up to stupity. I got an email for a free cruise to the Bahamas from a new cruise line called Caribbean Cruise Lines. Please do NOT confuse this with the reputable Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Caribbean Cruise Lines has suckered Carmen Electra into being a spokesperson for them. Poor girl, hope she comes to her senses. Anyhow, I replied to this email just to see what was entailed. First off, numbers are computer generated and dialed several times a day. When you do answer you have to say hello a dozen times. Normally I hung up after saying it twice. I finally saved the number and found out who it was. I eventually got to speak with a real person who told me a bit about it. Somewheres along the line our connection dropped and she didn't call back. Again for several days I'd get calls. Hey I'm not gonna break my neck getting to the phone! On another occasion finally I spoke with someone else, I told the gal I had to talk to my hubby and she arranged with me to call back that following tuesday. Next day calls kept coming and tuesday was still 3 days away. I picked up again on friday of the following week and it's another totally different person. I told him I was expecting someone to give me a call back last week. Then what was to be the final straw occurred. I got a call two days ago, missed it.. so I decided, especially after checking out the $600+ airfare from WA to FL roundtrip was a bit more then I wanted to deal with, that I didn't want to have anything else to do with this conversation. So I called them to have them take me off their list.. First words out of their mouth was "Don't you want to go to the Bahamas?" It's not that I don't want to go, I just don't want to pay the incredible airfare.. I had a situation come up and asked if he could call me back in 10 minutes. His reply "To sign up for this"? I told him I didn't know for sure. He never called. So again tonight, one day later, another rep calls me, again I missed the call. I'd had it.. I called to get off their freakin list.. Again the first words were asking " Don't you want to go to the Bahamas"? My reply was NO and I told him about the calls and airfare. His reply was "We can SELL you airfare". That was it. I've been in sales for 26 years. You NEVER EVER EVER say you can SELL something to someone! You can tell them you'd love to help them to find a good price, but you don't tell them you can SELL them. That's the whole purpose of this company right now. Sure they'll give you a free cruise. BUT they want you to pay money for an upgrade, money for airfare, and money to spend even MORE TIME in Florida. It's not about you, as a customer. I can tell you that I have cruised with Holland America and Celebrity. What keeps me going back to them is "With MY Permission" they send me emails on specials. The give me wonderful upgrades without charging me, and they have always put me first and special as a customer. I have never felt as though they even had MONEY on their minds! I will not give Caribbean Cruise Lines my business. I don't care if they offer me a FREE cruise (which btw, the one listed about does cost you with what they tell you is taxes) FREE airfare, and a FREE week in Florida at their expense. NO WAY!

I just wanted to let you all know what I went thru with this company. Best of luck if you have to deal with them. Check out the other cruise lines that have been in business for a long time. Right now 3 day + Bahama cruises are going for under $200. And you're assured incredible service and a wonderful cruise on them :)

What people fail to realize here is that if they were agreeable all the way thru the sales pitch, yes of course things went smooth. The sales rep got what they wanted so there was no need to be rude or hang up. I posted the original post in hopes that I could help people avoid what I felt was a scam. And by the looks of things, I did for the mostpart. For those of you that have taken advantage of the offer, I wish you the best of luck and hope that you have a wonderful cruise. I truly mean that. I have found that booking my own thru my chosen cruise line works best for me. I start looking way in advance and watch as prices go down based on how fast cabins are being booked. But, again I add this warning in regards to this particular cruise line. I have been on seven cruises and I would never book with them. In fact I wouldn't even accept a totally FREE cruise from them after all I went thru with them. I'm happy paying what I do for the ones I take. Keep in mind that with the cruise being FREE as they claim you will want to verify port costs. The rep on the phone will not like this but it is your right to do so. Best of luck...

I was sent a text message. THey already had my address and all. When I called the number before clicking on their link it was an automated web radio station called Fire97. They also want $118 for my port fees. I need to do a lot more research. They're saying it's through Holiday Cruise Lines and I will be sailing on the Celebration. Which I see is a Caribbean cruise line ship... So I'm quite confused. What's going on?

This company's customer service is so incompetent...I am planning my cruise the 1st week of April 2015, and I still have not received my itinerary (March 26, 2015), even though I was assured that I would receive it a month prior to departure. Everything has been a struggle with customer service since I paid for the cruise. I wish that I had gone with another cruise line now. I was promised a 2 for 1 airline travel voucher, which I never received so I ended up paying regular price for 2 airline tickets to Florida. Even though I paid $638.00 for the package, I still have to pay up to $400.00 in all of the "fees" that are charged upon booking. Customer service reps tell you anything to get you off of the phone when you're complaining about their service. I still don't know what to expect really. I can only hope for better treatment once I land in Florida. I'm very nervous about it.

I was a victim to this very same situation, but with a slight twist. I was sold a bill of lies and have not stopped kicking myself for it yet, however I recorded the entire conversation and I am glad that I did. As they were trying to "upgrade" my package, after I had shown interest in the cruise, I stated that I would "not like to make anymore decisions until I speak with my girlfriend because we are a team and I want her to feel included on any further decisions." The man (who I had been transferred to because he was a "manager" and could answer my questions better) clearly expressed that this was a lost concept for him and first tried to insult me by saying that it was "obviously because I didn't have enough money to upgrade" and that he would discount the package to make things easier on me. When I explained to him that this was not the case and that I just wanted her to be a part of this process he went further and literally told me that it was because of "this type of indecisiveness in men that women everywhere are turning into lesbians and bisexuals!" Shocked and extremely disrespected, I maintained professional composure and told him that he had overstepped his boundaries. In the state of Texas (where the phone call took place for me) a call can be legally recorded and used in court, so long as one or more person involved in the conversation gives permission. (I believe I also told them that I was recording the conversation.) Questions: Is this company so untouchable that they are allowed to do these things for so long? Why have they been allowed to continue to operate and why would any business ever associate with them if not purely for profitability? That being said, is there not a law against companies (big or small) profiting from immoral practices performed on their behalf? I also wonder what relationships this company may have with other larger and more reputable businesses that profit from catering to the gay and lesbian demographics?

From this employee comment:22nd of Feb, 2010 by CRUSIEBOYIN ORDER TO RECEIVE A FREE CRUISE YOU MUST REGISTER FOR IT..WE DNT CALL ANYONE OFF OF A PHONE BOOK...MANY WAYS TO REGISTER (SURVEY ONLINE, OVER PHONE, UR BBY CAN READ, TRADE SHOW, ETC.)...

well I received their offer through a phone survey that I thought was made by the Canadian government. I already had some surveys from the government and the questions were a bit similar..but I thought it was funny to have only 3 questions, not even a mention of the company and the call ended by telling me that I won a trip and if I wanted to be contacted about this, to press 1. I was confused about this, and certainly not expecting this... but i pressed 1 with hesitation and the call ended without mentioning the company or anything else. The call originated from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The 22nd of Feb, 2010 CRUSIEBOY (employee) also write...THANK YOU HAVE A GREAT LIFE YOU CLOSE MINDED PPL! This doesn't help the company at all. And why do they have to write all in caps as if they are screaming... Many people have complained about their attitude.

Response of 16th of Mar, 2010 by BAHAMABOUND (another employee) is totally inappropriate. Such employees working for a respectful company would get fired for such behavior. The 16th of Apr, 2010 BAHAMABOUND1 (same employee as above) is talking about that they refund all customers that asks for refund according to the law otherwise it would be credit card fraud. Of course he is going to say that here, otherwise he would incriminate the company. But then why is this site full of complaints about people that can't get a refund or have to waste so much energy and trouble to get it in a few cases?

For all those red flags when they called, I just told them I was not interested...repeated that twice before the employee had even started his speech and the conversation ended

I strongly suggest that you take your business elsewhere, with a reputable company that have a good customer service.

Hello, My story is a little different. I did not respond to any phone calls or Adverts. I actually was connected to the 'Caribbean Cruise Line' after being told I had won a free Cruise, after placing an Order from a T.V. Paid Commercial. I Was on the phone with them and they were telling me of all the wonderful perks...Only pay a 'Port charge' of $59.00 pp, 2 nights in Ft Lauderdale... etc etc. Well I fell for it literally...funny thing is these people are sooo good at what they do...they talked me into it even though I am a Disabled Adult...(2 hip replacements, one knee) and I live near the Beach (can't fully enjoy it bc of walking and balance and mobility issues). Yes I am sure you are all laughing your heads off saying I should of known better, Well you're right ! What got me was the '18 month' time allowed to book. I thought by that time I would have more recovery time behind me etc. Well I also want you to know I consider myself to be pretty business savy...I know not to give your CC # out etc...however I was fooled by the name...'Carribbean Cruise Line'...thinking they were the well known outfit.

Well after I got off the phone with them and $785.00 later on my charge card ...I had the opportunity to go online and check them out, (Of course I was not allowed to call them back later after I had 'thought about it'). Saw some pics of the Ship which is the 'Bahama Celebration' a refurbished Ferry Boat, Not what I would call a 'Cruise Line'. Saw some pics of the Cabins (beyond tiny) and found out the Ship had no Real Decks to hang out on in the Open Air..and not much A/C inside...the Ship (Ferry) was originally built for use in a colder frigid climate. Needless to say I was mortified...what the heck had I done :( I had Buyers Remorse in a BIG way.

Well long story short...guess I got lucky...(if you call having to resort to using your physical disability as leverage as Lucky). I was allowed a Full Refund...After first speaking with an Agent who first of course told me I had already agreed to everything and there were no Refunds ! I used the Fact that I was not even responding to an Advert...that I had been caught off guard and 'Fell' for all the 'Allure'. She then offered me a partial refund and I told her that was not acceptable...she then put me thru to her 'Supervisor' ...who actually still tried to 'Charm' me into keeping my Trip, by saying things like "Everyone Deserves a Vacation'...It's a 'Great Deal' etc. Oh I forgot this part...When I even tried to tell the first representative that I was too much of a 'Fall Risk' she actually told me I could buy 'Travelers Ins' lol. I said No Thank You, I had spent too much time in physical therapy / rehab to risk it. I would like my money refunded. Also I immediately called the next day, not even 24 hrs later.

Hope this has been helpful to someone...

I have had this miserable experience with Carribean Cruise lines as I got a cruise package that has only two nights of cruising . I called them and asked them to upgrade my package to more cruise time and I said I am willing to pay more . Turns out I am not allowed to cancel, no upgrades and no refunds . Has someone got any ideas . I really am thinking of taking this to a lawyer

Yeah... I just got a call today from them. I had a very rough day and now that I am on my lunch break at work I saw very unpromising reviews on this "Deal." I under stand with tax's and fee's the trip come out to about $232.00 however I want to make sure I am not paying any "Hidden Fee's." If anyone can please get back to me about about more information I would be grateful.
