Care.com petcare

I have supposed discounts with care.com through my work, so I registered an account b/c I do need pet care occasionally for my cats and fish when I go out of town. So I spent a large amount of time navigating their really horrible website which will only work in ie. Pet care was an option according to my company and was available to set up on their website, so I posted a job for late may in feb. I had messages from people and selected a care giver. We sent eachother messages and I marked her hired. We spoke several times and I was going to reach out to her around now, 5/6/19 to set up a meeting to give instructions for care for the dates I need which is 5 days end of may. I'm glad that I checked in well in advance of my actual trip, b/c when logged in today my job is gone. There is no contact information for the person I hired and my job posting is completely gone. I called them to find out what's going on and they told me that my company doesn't cover pet care, only elder & child care. I know this isn't right, b/c my company told us pet care is covered. I spent a very long time on hold and on the phone trying to find out what happened. I was transferred several times and everyone seemed completely clueless. I told them that pet care was and still is an option for me to click on but that the problem is my job I set up is gone now. Finally someone did see the job I set up and apologized but said it was cancelled b/c pet care isn't covered. Now I only have two weeks to look for pet care that I need and I sure as hell will never be using care.com again. I hope the girl that I had arranged was informed somehow that it was cancelled and isn't still blocking that time out. This is completely ridiculous. What if I had not checked sooner. People's pets could literally die from this kind of negligence. If someone thought they had something arranged and trusted the company and then it just deleted a job so the person thought they didn't have to provide care anymore a pet could literally die from that. I would not recommend this company to anyone, ever.

Care.com phone calls

The caller has hung up many times on the machine . I am not certain it's really the organization.
It's a 900 number is why. They called this morning and again tonight. This is the UBC, it shows up on my machine like private caller. I never donate by phone if I don't, want to or know you. The mystery caller wants money for the care foundation by phone . They say I have helped in the past. I follow the legitimate site, but not the caller. I think 900 numbers are usually adult content, and a prohibited call. I don't like the so called breast cancer foundation collection either. As they've never helped myself or my family to expect a gift from the annoying calls. They usually leave no message . How professional is that really ? I give in person, I follow solely sometimes and I like sites that govern them. I like a great rating. I have to really know someone. I never give personal information to unauthorized strangers. Thank you.

I have a few other hang up callers since the Christmas holiday season . I got them from my caller ID . UBC [protected], UBC [protected], Barnesville, Ga [protected], Valdosta, Ga. [protected], WCF [protected], [protected], AT&T [protected], unknown at [protected] and so far that's good enough. These have been rude. If I never gave you consent, don't call. If you can, leave us a brief description on the machine.

Care.com site subscription terminated for no reason

Two days ago I created an account on care.com. Last night I became a paying member with a 3 month commitment. This morning I discovered that my account was terminated without warning, reason or any other communication. My account had simply been deleted from the system. I did a google search and found that I'm not alone. I did nothing to violate their terms of use as I carefully read those terms after seeing I was terminated to make sure it wasn't something I had done.

I can only assume they have some kind of automated system that flags account on a rather arbitrary basis. It's disturbing that a company that has the audacity to call themselves "care" finds it easier to terminate users while keeping their money than actually providing service. How is this company allowed to stay in business?

I would of course like my money refunded and I'd like some credit for the time I spent identifying and reaching out to prospective caregivers/helpers!

The error shown below is the only communication I received from their "support" team.

You have the right to complain to your state's attorneys general who oversee businesses conducted in your state, as well as Consumer Protection Services and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Taking money and providing no service is illegal.

Care.com membership terminated for no reason

Lawyers should be all over this.in this case, I have contacted mine and she is going to research this further and see if I have a case - or as it looks like all of us on here have a case! On march 1, 2019 only one day after paying for a membership they terminated my membership and took my money! When I called, jean (doubt that was her real name) explained that they have every right to terminate and legally does not have to give an explanation. I have spoken to several friends that the same thing has happened to them!

People this company that you see on tv is a total scam! I am surprised to see that this company has not been shut down or sued!

Care.com service is what i'm complaining about

First of all, I create an acct and paid my monthly fee and started the process. As soon as I did my research and created my favorites list (which took hours and hours), I noticed I could no longer check into my acct. For no explained reason my I was shut down. No refund! To me, this is stealing! I then created another account and thought it was a technical issue. Again paid and nothing but issues! Their site shows you a start and end time for work. However when I pick what I want and I go to save it, it automatically changes to a diff time. I've tried to edit this several times with no luck. I've called several times only to stay on hold forever and then be told sorry we have a glitch. So unprofessional. Plus none of their prospective nanny's responded to a request. Very unproductive process.

Care.com job posting function

Why do you take my post down before i've filled the job. This is so annoying! I'm talking to people about the job and all of a sudden they can't see it. I think you take things down based on the job start date, but i've rarely been able to hire anyone by the actual desired start date. You can do better than this. Just send me a message asking me if I want to close the post.

Also - how can I send candidates a link to my post. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't. The app is even worse.

Care.com account termination for no reason

I have read several complaints that are very similar to what recently happened to me. I'm just happy I'm not the only one. I had been a member of care.com for close to five years if not longer. I had found several families I have worked for over the years via care.com. Very recently my needs changed to only wanting to find something part time so I went on to update my information. The only thing I changed was my bio, as I now had more and different experience to add and my address as we've moved. I applied for what seemed like the perfect position and when I logged back in to follow up my account told me I needed to upgrade in order to allow the family to respond to me. So I upgraded and spent almost $20 to do so. As soon as the charge went through I get a notification that my account was terminated. I read through the reasons why this could happen and I in NO way had violated any of the rules. I tried to reach out at least for a refund which, they said they put through but tolde my account termination was final. It's really awful to not look into any matter further to protect those who've been members for a long time and really relied on the site to find work.

Care.com permanently deleted my account without notice

I tried logging into my care.com account and my password didn't work. When I tried the forgot password link, the site said it was not recognized. I called customer service and was informed the account was closed because my profile information did not match public records. The reason? 4 years ago, when I first signed up for my account, I used my work address because I was searching for providers near my work. That work address does not match public records for my home address. Instead of attempting to contact me to verify my profile address, they permanently deleted my account. I have employment records which match the address I gave, so this was easily verifiable information. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was promised a call back. Instead I received an email stating that an account, once closed, cannot be reopened. I was told I can use the same email address to open a new account. However, all my past correspondences, job postings, preferred care providers, etc. are irretrievably gone. I am completely unclear on what happens to reviews for care providers I wrote and whether they are adversely affected by this problem.

Care.com deleted account & unethical-treatment

My wife had been a premium-account member of care.com for the past 4-5 years — she renewed her premium membership on Dec 20th, 2018 - payment processed, but on Dec 23rd, 2018, she was unable to access her account. Thinking that it might be some site-wide issue with account-access, I tried the free-account I've had with care for the past 5-6 years - I was able to login to my free-account, but my wife still had no-access to hers. I sent an e-mail to care.com (explaining the access-issue with my wife's account), the next day, I discovered that I could no longer access my free-account. I called care.com (was on-hold for what seemed like an eternity), and eventually spoke with someone named Nilo. Nilo had a "thick-accent", and was very hard to understand - he told me that both my wife and my account had been terminated, but that he was unable (not allowed) to disclose the specifics on why care had arbitrarily-terminated our accounts. I explained to Nilo that my wife's account was a premium-account that she's just renewed, while mine was a free-account that I hadn't accessed for over-a-year (before logging-in on Dec 25th, 2018, after my wife's access to her account failed). I further explained that there is absolutely nothing in care's "terms of use", nor listed in their "care FAQs" - https://www.care.com/c/questions/29366/what-are-some-of-the-reasons-members-carecom/, that would constitute a valid-reason for deleting our accounts. I ended my conversation with care, declaring that the manner in which care treats it's member is not something that a "good business model" would favor/encourage, and that any issue alleged/imposed on one member's account should not impact another member's account (especially one which isn't frequently-accessed — mine)

Care.com termination of account with no reason after they took my payment.

I just received an email stating care.com terminated my account for no reason as they said they did not have to disclose a reason why. This is not right and I will find an attorney to get a lawsuit going. I've been with care.com for 15 years and never have I had anything happen for them to just take my money and 2 days later terminating me... Again no reason? I've now read bad stuff they have done and I will take this in further action. This needs to be taken seriously. This site needs investigated!

Care.com can't close account

They have continued automatic payments despite attempts to end account. They are a good business except for this issue. The internet is filled with people having the same complaint. If I have hired someone I have no reason to continue with the company. Also, I only signed up for one payment, not recurring payments! I tried to remove my credit card and it said it can't be done because there is a payment pending.

Care.com termination by care.com

I was recently notified by care.com that my account has been terminated ! No explanation ! I have been a member for 10+ yrs. in good standing and this has been a continuous resource for employment for me and revenue for care.com. After reading several other complaints by former members of care.com who were also terminated without reason given, I found this to be a common practice of care.com. It is outrageous that care.com doesn't even give the courtesy or professionalism to offer terminated members an appeal process. To proceed further with this situation I would like to gain support for starting a class action suit against care.com. I am also contacting my state (Ohio) and Massachusetts consumer protection agencies to file a complaint against care.com.
Anyone interested in joining me to bring this to the public ? There are 1000's of care.com members who will be targeted in the future...

Care.com job searching

So unless you pay to be a premium member the site lets you apply to jobs which I had been doing but I realized I wasn't getting any responses so I go into the messages and I see my sent message and it says upgrade now so the person can respond ...so basically pay up or else the people looking to hire you can't respond to you ...what a joke ... Not to mention they make money off of your hard work ... Theres nothing wrong with providing a service and charging a fee but this site charges membership to the person looking to hire and the person looking to be hired by charging membership fees then they also take monies out of the hourly wage as well ... Crooked I say

Care.com charging for reviews

I have tried to use this app to be a sitter and I could not get reviews because I could pay for the premium version of the app because this would have been my main source of income if I could have used it. I feel that no one should have to pay for reviews, it's not right to those like my self plan to use this app as my main source of income to have to pay for something that everyone should have access to! I can't get a babysitting job through this app now because I can't pay for reviews, and that is wrong d unfair! If you could alow everyone who uses the app regardless of whether they pay for the premium version of the app or not to get reviews that would be great and I could use the app again!

Thank you

Care.com closed account/sterling infoservice background check

Greetings,

Lengthy, but WORTH the read:

I was a Premium member on Care. (now giver w/ new app).com for over year paying $24.99 a month w/ four 5 STAR reviews. My most recent potential employer asked to run a background check. Having passed the MA CORI in 2017 through Uber and USA Hockey level 2 criminal check in 2013, I approved. Two days later I could not log into my Care account. The third day I found an e-mail buried in my Clutter file (Care continuously sent other e-mail notifications directly to in box.) starting they had suspended my account; contact Sterling Infosystems and GAVE phone number: [protected]

KNOWING a DUI incident from Sept. 2008 was ACCURATE (I was working for a bar in GA, went to work for sister property in SC, DRANK after my shift, was pulled over and per UNwritten rule of Management CHOSE not to take the Breathalyzer which in SC is an AUTOMATIC plea of GUILT that I was NOT AWARE of at the time. I KNOW, I knooow, "Ignorance is n-o-t an excuse for breaking the Law." I paid $4K in legal fees, plus $1K+ more for ADSAP class, Court Administration costs and DMV reinstatement for license. Accomplished everything accordingly to resolve in terms of the Law.) So I e-mailed Care.com to POLITELY ASK they RE-ACTIVATE my account, KEEP BACKGROUND CHECK AVAILABLE to allow person seeking my employment to be the one who make character decision and KINDLY ALLOW me to continue being a PAYING customer. I had to keep submitting for several days due to no responses. Then I received a blanket (other than where my name and case number were typed) reply letting me know I had TEN DAYS from the date of FIRST e-mail (I was now a week or so in) to clear up my background check or my Care account would be PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Next, again KNOWING my background check was ACCURATE, I called the number Care provided for Sterling Infosystems. I was on hold for OVER an hour listening to put-in-a-trance music w/ a recording citing "All representatives are busy you can leave a message or remain on the line." While holding I Googled -Sterling Infosystems dispute number- THIS number came up: [protected] When I hung up and redialed I was speaking w/ someone in Customer Service w/in EIGHT MINUTES. Twelve minutes in I was talking to a Supervisor who informed me...as I already knew in my heart..."there was nothing she could do" suggesting I pay to get my record expunged. (DUI in SC is not an eligible offense. Expungements in all states take a MINIMUM of 4-6 weeks and a couple hundred dollars.) When I told her about over an hour wait time she said, "Give me that number." I could hear her clicking on keyboard as I said each digit. She replied, "That is not one of our numbers..." Then she said, "Wait, it is, but it will NEVER lead you anywhere w/in our company." ! ! !

Meanwhile MORE disheartening than bad judgement/a poor decision combined ten years ago re-interrupting my life and leading to my no longer having access to positions for my LIVELIHOOD via Caregiver.com app is the HUMILIATION of the following: While FOUR out of five "jobs" I applied for as a PREMIUM member on Care were SCAMS (Stay away from generic postings as in "I need care for loved one in their xx's, non-smoker.") and at some point you D-O get to where you HAVE to give personal info. and references which if you make it through first series of SCAMS to next, people then sell your and contacts intel. to Robo callers for monies for another degree of SCAM, Care DOES in S-O-M-E instances work. I H-A-V-E CARED for a few FABULOUS families, so imagine me CRYING SNOT BUBBLES HYSTERICALLY when I found out Care uses the PRIVATE background check (which you agree to when joining) to then e-mail EVERY PERSON you have EVER messaged to notify them you, ENTER Y-O-U-R FULL NAME here, have been REMOVED from Care site due to "SECURITY REASONS." N-o-t explaining specifics b/c the background check is PRIVATE.

Care.com I have a question

Hi,
I applied for jobs on your site at Care.com. I did obtain a job but the family decided to hire an agency, so the position became short lived. Anyway, so I continued to apply for jobs and little did I know I was receiving multiple responses. However, I am not able to open the responding emails to the jobs I've applied to unless I pay you.
Are you some kind of scam?
Asking because many of the jobs I've applied for are positions for people that seriously need help, and you are not only preventing me from possibly being employed but you are preventing a person asking for help from getting the help?
