Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Sales presentation

I hope that other people read these complaints before wasting their time or giving their hard earned money to this crooked company. I unfortunately wasted my 4th of July weekend on a sales presentation that was supposed to last 90 minutes. After 3 1/2 hours of complete BS from Christina and Mike I was done and told them I was done and I was leaving. And Mike told me how rude I was. By this time I was angry and shaking and very upset. They were not going to let me leave and get reimbursed my money that I put down which was $40 plus some show tickets unless I set down and let Christina show me one more option. I walked out. I could not believe they treat people this way. I knew right then that this company and those people are nothing but liars and crooks or they would have backed off and apologized but instead they told me I was the one that was rude. Are you kidding me?

After reading all these nightmare complaints with people that have signed up with this company they should have a class action lawsuit filed against them. For all the illegal things they are pulling on people. Luckily I got a bad feeling from the beginning and didn’t fall for the shell game that Christina was trying to play by giving so much information that nothing makes sense but she wants you to think it sounds great. I do not know how these people sleep at night know they are lying to people and trying to steal from them. I can’t even imagine what kind of people they truly are to do that. Pretty bad

Please please please stay away from this company.

Kaci

Desired outcome: Nothing just want to warn people about this company

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Would like to be refunded money I sent for a vacation pkg. In 2018. I have filed complaints on this and yet have not been refunded my money

On 2-10-18 I purchased a package from Capital resorts for $329.00. I am a senior citizen and my son was stationed at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and he was going to drive me to Pigeon Forge, Tenn. but he got orders he was being sent to South Korea which has turned into 4 years he has been stationed there. I contacted Capital Resorts and they kept calling me in regards to scheduling another time to come. i told them I didn't want to schedule because of the situation and just wanted to be refunded my money but they would not. During all the time after I sent the money to them they harassed me and I could not give them a date I could come because of the situation with my son being stationed in South Korea. During all of this time I could say that they made made over 20 phone calls to me in regards to scheduling even after I had explained to them the situation which I feel was being harassed by the phone calls; I believe I was taken advantage by them and it was a way of making money and by not having to refund my money . During all of this time now with Covid-19 going on I do not want to travel as well as the cost of gas and having to pay someone to drive me which I can not afford. I would like to be refunded my money after all this time.

Desired outcome: To be refunded my $329.00

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Points

I was told that I would receive points when I was talked into trading my timeshare from Branson into what I have now. I don't have any points showing and I paid this loan off minus the ten percent down that the representative was going to be taken care of. According to my papers I should have over 300000 points.

I tried to contact the guy who sold me this, but he has yet to help me. Joey Sutton from the resort in Chattanooga

My email is hinson. [protected]@yahoo.com

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Timeshare, vacation rental

I am blown away by Capital vacations and their customer service! After getting manipulated into a contract in 2020 we’ve been trying to get out… basically since 2020. Trapped in an ownership we can’t use, we have made call after call to try and get help. Finances have been tight and our credit has been hurting,we were getting texts from Capital saying they wanted to help, so I called and all they talked about was a “settlement” but for an amount we couldn’t afford! We went back and forth with Capital a few times and not knowing what to do scrounged up enough money to get them off our backs for a whole month and the very next phone call asking for help she says “oh no that was never an option, you would never qualify for settlement, that never happened”. Such gaslighting! We paid three thousand dollars for help and still can’t get out and just get lied to. If you’re thinking about putting your trust in this company… don’t.

Desired outcome: I want out. This is a scam and a group of liars. I want my money back.

I wish I would have read all these comments before hand. We just recently signed and are in the same boat. Have no idea what steps to take now. We have called them so many times and we are told a different story every time we call. We are being charged way more then what they said. They even said they can see that we are right and it will be fixed and never gets fixed. One of their own people told us to request a graceful exit which we did and they were going to send the paperwork. Never received it. What a complete scam. No idea where to go from here.

We rented a hotel through Hotwire that turned out to be Silver Lake resort. They wouldn’t give us a parking pass until we agreed to a 90 minute deal. I told the guy I wasn’t interested multiple times. He promised 2 sets of Disney tix. So, we finally agreed. They tried to put the hard sell on us, but I wasn’t having it. At 90 mins I told him I was leaving. He was nice. He got his manager. Told him no very firmly. Then, another chick came. Told her no. We were out.

Anyways, they told lot of lies. Said they owned Expedia and you could go anywhere in the world…even on the spur of the moment. Said they’d take it back if you didn’t want it. No worries. Said you could rent it out. Said you got 40 days for $869 per year.

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Vacation club with deeded property going into their trust

Bought the points thinking I was getting the deed relief (#1 reason for me to join the club). As I did not want to burden my kids with the liquidation when we pass away.

Bought the owners workshop and attended almost 6-months later at Pidgeon Forge. Really wanted to figure out the use and could not log onto the Capital Vacations Club website. Lots of phone calls, no resolution to my inability to log onto the website. Figured I'd wait until our owners workshop to fix the log on issue. Low and behold they then informed me that the purchase of the Capital Vacations Club did not put my deed into their trust.

Been talking to the Sales Manager at Stormy Point in Branson, "A W", luckily I ran into the operations manager "A C J" as A C J must have bugged A W to call me.

I was told my case had been escalated. I'm assuming their idea of escalation is ignoring people.

I needed to make a reservation and the helpful person asked if there was anything else she could help me with. I recanted this entire case. To her credit we managed to get my log on fixed. Thanks for that. FYI your website needs to improve as we cannot see the new Tier1-6 to see what trades are in system and available. The short time Frame stay/deals "GO" is still not working..

I write to you today to let you know my contract was written in 2021, June 22 and here we are one year later June 21, 2022 with no attempt to resolve this.d

Desired outcome: #1 to put my deed into your trust with no additional fees charged to me.#2 if #1 cannot be done please refund me my Capital Vacations Club contract amount.

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Capitol Vacations presentation Branson

We went to their presentation on Wednesday. The presentation was fine as well as the slide presentation. We took a tour of the property after informing our salesperson that we had tickets to shows at 1 pm. This was a 10 a.m. presentation. The presenter came to our table, would not take our "NO". Said they would pay for our show we were going to miss (which they did not do) and kept us from leaving. I will NEVER have anything to do with this company ever again. We were not treated with respect and actually made us very angry.

Desired outcome: An apology for the way we were treated.

I have been misled to buy into Capital vacation with false information. Said I can use my points and go anywhere I want. I can’t do or go anywhere with my points and still not pay more than I could with my travel agent. Nobody can seem to fix or clear this up. The seller won’t even call us back. And nobody will give me a number to the owners? I was scammed and now i’m mad and want my money back! If this doesn’t get resolved soon I will get a lawyer and everyone will know how terrible this company is!

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Cancellation recent purchase

Purchase on 5/20 at a baseball game. $200 purchase, I did not activate. Upon signing up I did not receive any information regarding the purchase just a blank folder.

Tried to contact to cancel 5/23 . Called the listed capital vacations number 3 times . Each time representative guided me to call me different numbers each time. [protected], [protected], was told [protected] was the marketing department and they handled cancellations. I have 10 days to cancel from purchase date to receive a full refund. Each phone number I was advised to call resulted in being on hold for 5 mins + and sent to a voicemail . Emailed [protected]@capital vacations- no response. Please cancel my purchase before it is escalated.

Desired outcome: Cance and refund my recent purchase . Name Michael Rosner

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Hostage sales tactics

I was told my 40 dollars to “reserve” my spot at your “presentation” would be returned. I got up and went to the 830 am presentation at Silver Lake in Orlando. After being served cold jail food in a styrofoam box that you called breakfast, I spoke with your sales person and went to the video hostage session with the Sales Director. When that was over and we had spent an hour as hostages we told pur sales person we had no interest. She said she had to tell her Manager. The TO! Shame on you. When he asked. What was going on? I told him we had no interest. He then I formed me that unless I wasted another 30 minutes of my vacation as his hostage that he was keeping my forty dollars. I consider this money to be stolen at this point. I was told it would be returned if I attended, which I did.

Since I am retired with time on my hands now I will be spending my days on my computer preaching to the world about the criminals at your company.

Enjoy that 40 bucks. Let me know how how you enjoy a thousand negative reviez and poss!

Desired outcome: Money returned to my room today. It was cash. And its not the money, its the total disrespect.

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Contract dispute - buyer beware

October 26, 2021, per our obligation we attended a presentation for Capital Vacations. Unaware that it was a Capital Vacations presentation connected to the package we had purchased. We were reassured this was not a timeshare and after spending many hours with the salesman and hearing all of the so-called advantages we were maybe considering it. We explained that we already had a cruise booked for 2023 on Norwegian. We were then told that Capital Vacations had an alliance with Norwegian and there may be a way we could get our money back on the cruise and use points instead. We were also told that if we turned over our week from a timeshare that we do own to Capital Vacations that we would be given 162,500 points credit for it. Those two things are what made us decide to go ahead and purchase. In our Owners packed we were provided with a brochure and the salesman explained that it was for us to book a 2 day stay to attend a new owners workshop to learn how to use the program. Let me add here that December 2, 2021, we made arrangements to pay the $8,101.39 owed on this account in full. January 19, 2022, I called the number provided to set up the New Owner Workshop was told that if we could make it February 4-6, 2022, there was a New Owners VIP weekend. February 5 we were scheduled for what we thought was a workshop to show us how to use our points and was not expecting a one-on-one sales presentation. After several hours of being shown some different things there were two things that we picked up on. The first was he had shown us a chart, which I asked for a copy of and never received, that estimated what your cumulative maintenance fees would be over the years. The way it was explained to us or the way we understood it was if we signed a contract for $34,031.55 less our previous equity of $12,323.38 for a contract total of $21,707.87 that we would never have to pay maintenance fees after that. Reluctantly we agreed to the new contract based on our assumption that once the contract amount was paid then we would never have maintenance fees due again. Prior to the 5 days for cancellation, I asked the salesman again about not paying for maintenance fees and was told that was correct. If the answer had been what he was meaning and not what I was asking the contract would have been cancelled within the 5 days. I asked this question again on at least 3 more occasions and prior to us taking a personal loan to pay the contract in full. Semantics! I was asking the question the way I meant it but the salesperson was hearing it a different way.

To summarize: (1) No one-on-one or even group training on how to use the program (2) Owner Services only showed 100,000 bonus points in our account, the account was not up to date, (3) the Owner services representative was discourteous and told me I didn't have enough points to book a reservation, (4) the salesman had told us he would get our Phoenix reservations for us but the owner's rep said she didn't have a reservation for us and we would have to go directly thru another company in Phoenix anyway, NO RESERVATIONS (5) the Aspire program was never explained and not sure if we are going to get our credit for that this year, (6) told not to ask any questions when we went into the signing, (7) felt pressured into this contract and because of our ages 83 and 74 we would have never been able to pay off the contract we signed with those terms.

Desired outcome: Wanted a full refund but would agree to reverting back to the original contract that was signed in October.

Today I went to a Capital Vavations sales pitch. I had no intentions of purchasing anything. I was told the meeting would last between 90 and 120 minutes. I got there at 2:00 and left at 5:30. I am sure the only reason I was able to leave then is because everyone wanted to go home. The sales pitch was extremely high pressured. They kept telling me how much I needed to do this for myself because I really deserved it. They promised I could get out of it at anytime. Everytime I said no they threw in something to sweeten the deal. Like a free trip for 2 to Hawaii excluding airfare. The young salesman put a piece of paper in front of me and told me to initial and sign everything. I started reading it and he tried to rush me saying I didn't need to read it because it was really nothing. I told him I never sign anything without readingvit first. Itold him iwas not going to sign it because it was a contract. Then he said he gave me the wrong paper. He took the contract away and gave me another paper to sign. It was a credit card application. I refused to sign it because it was a credit card application. He argued with me telling me twive it was not a credit card application. Then he git frustrated and said it would not go against my credit.

He tried to act like he was about to cry. He best stick to his day job because he is a bad actor . Then he said he was going to just quit because he was new and i was the 10th person in a row that had turned him down. He left and sent a manager over to talk to me. They seemed to be trying to use the fact that I am a widow in their favor. They kept asking me what I was afraid of. I kept telling them I never make financial decisions without thinking about them for a few days. They pretty much promised me the world. When the manager finally realized I was not going to commit he told me I could come back at anytime and I could get the packaged that he had just promised me. I know that was a lie. I was given a voucher to see Queen Esther in Branson tomorrow. It is just a piece of paper with ticket information printed on it. I hope when I get to the show they will accept it.

I don't want to go now because of the Covid-19 problem which I would not feel safe at my age going. I realize this was sometime ago but still believe I should have been refunded my $329.00

Desired outcome: I would like to be refunded the $329.00 because I did not receive anything out of this but they came out $329.00 for their pocket. Unfair yes

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Holiday travel Club

we joined them around 2015 and payed $7000 for 2 weks worth of free vacations to any part of the world (they claimed)

First we wanted to go to London from Florida and they could find us nothing over there - so we paid our own way

On return we called up and complained and they told us we needed more points for another 10k which would give us many ,more points for a higher monthly service charge- we fell for it and paid them

Tried travelling to Jamaica a year later-- same problem- no accomodations found so we paid our own way.

Complained on return- told we needed 300000 points for more money - but hthis time we could rent an apartment tha we owned thru those 300000 points anywhere and have a monthly income from it.

No go- we were not allowed to use pictures from the brochures so was not able to rent anything.

Finally we stopped paying monthly after having put down approximately 29000 dollars and asked for our money back and to get out.

No go- we finally got a group of lawyers(Montgomery and Newcomb) who vowed to get us out and even get some of our money back.

After 3 years with noting happening we discovers Montgomery and Newcombe was a scam who never even contacted Capital Resorts even though they gave us updates to the contrary.

Capital closed our account and put us into foreclosure- destroyed our credit and now tell us the only way to get any thing done to remove us from foreclosure is to pay them approx 30k in maintenance fees.

All requests to them in the last year have resolved nothing- we do not have 30k and do not see why after paying them approx that amount to buy the membership why we owe them anything.

So wea re stuck- no money back and credit destroyed.

Desired outcome: Would like the foreclosure removed from our credit even if they keep our money- we consider that a loss

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Marketing "Scams" and Customer Servicew

We purchased a timeshare or "vacation club membership" in May 2021 and while I felt we got a good deal, every other interaction with them has left a bad taste in my mouth. We were hounded for weeks about returning for our new owner orientation, which we did not. But then received a call in February 2022 about the team being in my city and them wanting to meet with us to "orient us" on the new updates the club. It was a complete setup for them to try to sell us more points, which left a very bad taste in our mouths. We were told that we did not have the right level, which would get us access to everything - which was a lie! Then we were told that we would have to pay another an asset management fee in March 2022 ($1800) if we did not upgrade. That was a lie! I was told to call Pigeon Forge to confirm, and I did - left a voice message and no one ever called me back!

The final straw is booking a vacation for next week and having a question about the room and JOHN was rude. He obvious didn't want to be at work and I had to get back rude with him for him to assist me. I'm sure after hanging up from our call that I was called all sorts of names, because of his ignorance.

After this trip, I'm going to look at leaving the club! Don't buy it if you're considering it!

Desired outcome: To get rid of this club!

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Sales manager at resort talk

My husband and I attended a resort talk at Silver Lakes in Florida in February. Our initial representative went through the whole 90 minute talk and we felt no pressure. We explained that for the past 10 years we have used Armed Forces Vacation club to stay at Silver Lakes and we were happy to continue that. At that point the manager came over and gave us the "bottom cost" with a substantial Military discount because the company is great supporters of the Military. I repeated to him our use of Armed Forces Vacation Club and at that point he said "well your not going to be able to use that any longer because our company won't be giving weeks to Armed Forces Vacation Club anymore to stay at Silver Lakes". I must say I truly was disappointed first that your company that I was told was such a Military supporter is pulling out of a Vacation Club that benefits our Military doesnt sound like the supporter of Military that you said you are especially since over the next couple days other people told me they were given the same offer we were that we were told was only for military but they were not military. And secondly that this resort that my family has gone to for 10 years and was owned by a company that has been offeing available weeks on a club site to our Military members has been purchased by a company who professes to be a great supporter of our Military until they can't seal the deal with a sale and is pulling out of a site designed to help our Military plan a vacation for their families. My husband served this country for 27 years of our lives and is a 100 percent disabled Marine who was injured defending this country and its sad that your company is removing our opportunity to stay at Silver Lakes unless we spend the money to become owners.

Desired outcome: I want your company to be truthful to other Military members that your support isn't what you profess or you'd continue offering weeks on Armed Forces Vacation club.

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Service/salesman

Calypso Cay Resort Kissimmee, FL 34746
Phone 407.997.1600 our specific complaint is about Andres and the man who did our exit interview. Both were rude and Andres called my wife "Sweetheart " while telling use we did not understand how to save money. My wife is a Director of a Hospital and Senior financial officer. She is also a black belt on lean six sigma. We were the first to arrive and almost the last to be released. The manager told us he never received a complaint about Andres which I find difficult to believe. She got loud and told us we did not know financial things. Every thing we told her was not to her standard and she was doing it better. The man at our exit interview was no better asking us if we were not going to buy something why did we come and we were only wasting our own time. This was after the presentation by the manager that 35% of sales are from people who come to the presentation not interested in buying. Your sales department here needs some help with customer service! I still can not believe that these people talked down to us all while trying to sell us what might be a good product. The problem is we were turn off as soon as Andries started to tell us how we were going on vacation the wrong way.

Desired outcome: Training the staff might bring about a better outcome

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Timeshare resort problems

I have been complaining about capital vacations and there Branson resort for 8 months with no reply. Summer of 2021 stayed at stormy point
Found out that capital took over resort. The lodging was horrible with bugs inside cottage. Ants in the patio. The pool was so dirty (and I have pictures too!) that after talking with manager nothing resolved we left 3 days early. We just couldn't stand the bugs and dirty pool any longer. Have called at least a dozen times with no reply. I want either a refund for the week or cancel this timeshare.
Also went to meeting to find out about capital taking over and the rep kept insisting if I don't sign paperwork they are charging me another $18000 for the timeshare. I was told I had to sign right then but wouldn't give me copies of paperwork either!

I am in the process of talking with attorney general over this business practice capital has going on.

I no longer want capital if they have these type of business policies. You can email me at [protected]@gmail.com. I want to find out what can be done about this.
Barbara Neff

Desired outcome: Dissolve timeshare

I also bought into Capital Vacations at a very low level. We were invited back to Branson to hear the latest updates and changes and were coherced into upgrading to have a larger selection of places to stay costing us $37,000. Unfortunately the selection of places never panned out and we feel we have been royally taken also. Their deed buyback program will cost us $3750 and we will be free, but we will still be out the $37000. Beware of Capital Vacations club. The month maintenance of $147 will over time will eat you alive.

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Timeshare with Capital Vacations

I was sold a Capital Vacations timeshare and EVERYTHING I was promised by the salesman was a LIE. I feel the fact that I was lied to about all said means Capital Vacations is null and void for default. I will not pay for LIES. If your salesmen cannot tell the truth, you need to accept their sins.
I have sent numerous letters & left at least 14 messages and no return calls. I feel under all the circumstances Capital Resorts/Vacations (whatever they call themselves) has forfeited on this contract. All has been a lie and I'm not paying to a
scam.

Desired outcome: Cancel my timeshare for default on Capital Vacations.

Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group Time share

My father bought time share in 2002 as a his legacy for his children. The sales person told him it's a great investment as it is deeded title. They take advantage of the elderly. The sales reps act like they are his best friend, offer free shows in Branson, tell him all the additional BENEFITS he'd get if he bought more shares. Every year he'd sit through the owner meetings and end buying more units because of some lie. We had tried to transfer points to use at another location & were told there was no availability. They told him he could rent out his unit and that would cover his maintenance fees and that they could manage that for him... Supposedly there was no rental. So the next owners meeting he was at he talked about these issues and of course the reason he couldn't get a stay elsewhere or his unit rented is that they had members with more points which gives them priority. So they convinced him to buy more and he'd have more points and he'd be much happier as an elite member. He received no additional services just higher maintenance fees. My dad is now 79 years old and has not been able to travel to his time share for 4 years. There is no clause in the contract to terminate the agreement and they want us to pay thousands of dollars for a deed buy back. He spoke to a representative that quoted him approximately $640 to do the deed buy back and he asked for that in writing. What he received in writing was that they incorrectly calculated the figure and it should have been over $6000 to do the deed buy back. He wrote them back disputing their way of doing business and not honoring their word with no success. I think doing a quit claim deed back to them would be a very inexpensive option but they won't hear of it. The company has been sold many times and each time the customer service is less and less customer friendly. You get voice mails with no return calls, you sit on hold for 15 minutes frequently and then get to a voice mail. It's all very frustrating. The maintenance fees are a huge expense for a disabled, senior citizen on Social Security who can no longer use their services. He has not paid his 2020 maintenance to try to have some leverage.

Desired outcome: Termination of timeshare agreement.
