WiMacTel Telephone Booth Charges

On November 1, 2022 I used the Cambrian Mall, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario phone booth. It requested 50 cents over and over and would not accept it. I chose the credit card option which took many times to function. When I finally connected was a local call to my husband and last 4 minutes at the most. I was shocked and maddened to see not one, but two charges on my visa bill for $13.23 each! I would have gladly paid a dollar or two for this call. This is absolutely outrageous and I can see from reading other customer complaints that this is a common occurrence. Not only is this criminal business practice it is sad to see that so many innocent customers would be taken advantage of!

Desired outcome: I would like my money refunded to my Visa minus a fair charge!!

WiMacTel Collect call

I received a call from my brother in northern California, his cell phone was not working. I heard his name and a request for a credit card, I gave my information. I checked my statement, the company was WIMACTEL INC, and I was charged $25.00 for a 5 minute call. I looked up this company on the internet and found out that there are many complaints about the same thing. That is insane and unacceptable, I will be disputing the charges. These charges are unethical. You might be sued for scamming unsuspecting people.

Desired outcome: To have my charges reduced my 4/5's or so.

WiMacTel Cost of a call

I had called a California number from East Shore of Lake Del Valle (California). Since there was no cell connectivity there - I had to use the payphone. I made 2 calls - both lasting less than one minute. and I've been charged $25 and $41.58 for this! Looking at the frequent complaints here - this looks like a horrible scam company getting away with ripping people off who are in a desperate condition and use a payphone - people only know of this company's tactic once they're charged and then would come here and complain.

Desired outcome: Please refund me the excess money you've deducted from my account - the calls are at a maximum $2 .. and I've called a number inside the state - you've charged me as if I've made an international call for hours.

This charge was made on the credit card 5524 **** **** 5943. On 30th April 2022. Please let me know if any other info is required for resolution. The charges for the 2 calls are $41.58 & $25.10

WiMacTel Unauthorized Charges

2 (two) unauthorized charges of $48.00 totaling $96.00 was charged on December 19, 20 to my debit card ending 1155. No calls were made to my phone on December 19, 2021. Show me the call.

Additionally, I had used this card on Saturday 2 (two) for the first time and I was charged $25.00 for each call. This is an exceptionally high charge for a 5 minute calls. So you had my card on file and took it upon yourselves to use it December 19th.

Desired outcome: Refund the $96.00 - no calls were to my number on December 19, 2021.

WiMacTel A charge on my bill

I was at the Omaha Airport and had to make a call to my husband as I left my phone in our car. This happened on November 2, 2021. I tried to call multiple times but because there are no instructions on your phones, I was charged every time I tried to make the call. This is a horrible abuse to my checkbook considering that you do not have adequate instructions on your pay phones. I understand that we need to use our credit card but it never tells you to press another button after you have dialed the number, it just rings and then hangs up. I thought maybe it was the phone so I tried the one upstairs and finally I just started pressing buttons to see if something would work. I wish I would have waited a another minutes because my husband did an all call for me to meet him at the curb. You really need to adequate instructions on the phones if you plan to charge customers this amount of money for a 10 second phone call. This is absolutely horrible.

Desired outcome: I will agree to pay for 1 call at 10 seconds but I believe I was charged multiple times.

WiMacTel No service for collect calls from pay phone

Pay phone in the Cornwall Mall, Water St., Cornwall, Ontario will not allow caller to use the pay phone to place a collect call. Pushing button 2 for caller doesn't work to accept charges for last year or more & nothing happens except a dial tone . This has been reporterd before but nothing has been done to fix this constant problem. I guess it's time for CRTC to handle the case.

WiMacTel phone call from pay phone

Phone call on 9/3/21 from Sequoia Mineral King Trailhead to [protected]. Charges were never stated/explained to caller or recipient, now two separate charges for $25 and $48 appear on credit card. This is fraudulent - charges must be stated to user (charge to place call and per minute). Requesting refund to CC that was charged. This will be reported if refund is not made down to the level of a reasonable rate (commensurate with xfinity land-line rates which is the provider the caller and recipient use).

WiMacTel Pay phone charges

My son was stranded at a greyhound bus station in texas. We live in georgia. I purchased his bus tickets online and he called me twice collect to get his confirmation numbers. We talked approximately 3 minutes both times. This crazy company charged me $48 each call 😳😡 when I called them, they claimed we talked 30 minutes and 26 minutes 😳 they are lying‼️‼️‼️‼️ not only am I writing this complaint, I intend to fight them in court! This is outrageous and I will not allow them to rip me off and get away with it‼️🗣🗣🗣

WiMacTel Credit card charged twice… spoke once

CHARGED BY THESE THIEVES:
$33 for 1 minute that never went through
$40 for 5 minutes that we DID SPEAK

OUTRAGEOUS Resolve from reaching out to customer service. I only spoke to my son 1 time out of numerous attempts to phone me that hour.

CALLED WIMACTEL AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO DROP $33 CHARGE ( my son tried 6 times to call and I accepted, but they don't see that in their records.)

COMPLAIN TO FCC AND MY CREDIT UNION!

WiMacTel Unethical charges

Who charges $48 for a 2 minute phone collect call from a pay phone? These people are thieves. I'm not sure how they sleep at night. There was no warning on the phone to say that you are about to get ripped off royally, just big bold letters that said, "$0.50." You are in the wrong business if cheating people is your thing. Your parents would not be proud. Transaction details - WMACTL XXXXX0881 CA Not sure why it would say "Recurring?" I've never agreed to anything being 'Recurring.'

WiMacTel collect billing complaint

on Feb 21 2021 I received a collect call from from this company phone service. honestly I remember hearing the prompt about pressing 3 to hear rates. So I receive my bill and its charging me $33.69 for a 2 minute well 1 minute and 34 second call. I did reach out to the company on 4/15/2021 and spoke with three different people, whom of know of them could help me. and the last woman I spoke with told me she could not find my number i must have the wrong company. they guy was very rude from the second he answered. I live just outside north of Ocala and the call was made from Orlando . I really wanted to explain to me about the rate of 15.00 per minute. Then I asked for corporate number she never gave it to me. I am very confused about this company and it's rates.

WiMacTel Stealing my money!; telephone booth

On March 4, 2021 I used a payphone in San Francisco, CA at the train station. I used a debit card. I was on the phone for less than one minute. The following day I noticed that this bogus telephone operator had stolen first $25.00 and later that day $38.25 from my account. I did research and discovered this phone operator, wmact1 is a fraud. I want my money returned right away.

WiMacTel Charged £31 on a freephone number and not connected

Using a cashless british telecom payphone on the roadside. Followed instructions and range the 0800 (i.E. Freephone) number on the notice, gave my card details for a reverse charge call to the automated service, then cut off. Came home to £31 charge on my banking app. Unbelievable and totally illegal / immoral. What are bt thinking using these fraudsters?!

WiMacTel Payphone

This company is a complete scammer. I made a phone call using my debit card and the price turned out to be $25.0. Even though I spoke for less than 10 minutes. This price was never advertised on the payphone itself. The operating machine said "Please press 3 if you would like to know the price per minute". Before making my call, I kept pressing 3 many times to find out, but there was absolutely no answer. As a scamming or overcharging company, WiMacTel uses a pretext that it is the customer's fault that they do not press 3 to find out the price prior to making the call. By using pretext, they think that they can better scam people. Now, as I said, I did press 3 and there was no answer. You can also try this too. What can WiMacTel now say for my case? They are clearly hiding the price in a fraudulent manner. This scamming company must be shut down immediately. It is ridiculous that FBI or U.S government does nothing to control their scamming activity.

My card was charged $25 for a transaction thru you all and I want to know what is this for the charges was made on 12/13/20 please look into it for a phone number [protected] please look into it and refund my money back... I shouldn't have to go thru a run around for my money to be issued or refunded back someone stole my info and used my card please help me.

I tried to make a phone call from a pay phone on Clumber Park Caravan and Camping site in the UK. My call was never connected and I got the discontinued tone. However, you have taken £5 x 3 from my bank account today. £15 for a call that was never connected? This money needs to be refunded what info do you need for this to happen? WiMacTel phone call charges on debit card

I tied to make a call on a B. T payphone by credit card I entered my card details and as soon as I'd innished entering my card numbers the phone went dead and I wasn't able to make my call I was charged £31 pounds for a call I did not receive by the implant wmactl I spoke to the company by using the public pay phone that I tried to make the call that I was charged £31 for, and was told that I would be reimbursed the £31 within 48 hours once the company realize that I did not get connected for that call but 5 days later and I still haven't been reimbursed so that is my complaint and I'd like to know how I o about getting my money back. WiMacTel unethical behavior

Uses their pay phone at Omaha Airport on 2/22/2018. Charges listed on phone are four dollars for one minute. Called local cell number twice and both time got connected to a wrong number — total of less then 30 seconds. Charge card show $17.20 twice. Called 800 number and told the system does not know or care if correct number reached — charges are correct because "charges vary depending on where one is calling from and to, plus additional (unspecified) charges. The short version — charges were correct and no changes would be made. Also tried the phone next to that one and used a different"debit card."Four days later my credit union still shows a"pending charge" of zero. No idea of what that is about.
