Winstar Properties Move in scam ran by winstar

Warning! Do not rent from them! Just got off the phone with urban housing and development. Winstar properties scammed me thought a virtual viewing claiming to be a “luxury apartment” but when I got here it was a total dump. Drug activity at the front door, dirty, the property smells bad; I was harassed by a client of one of their tenants who was selling at the door. I moved from philadelphia to la and they used that as an opportunity to not give me the move in special then requested I pay an extra month of security deposit. Berry d, the operations manager, said they will not give me a refund and wanted to keep my $2,500 until I left a review to the better business bureau. Berry is she holding on to my $500 deposit unless I take the review down. This is impossible to do this because the bbb does not let you remove reviews and berry knew this because it goes against the customer review fairness act.

The company is fraudulent and completely trash. I’m am working with the attorney general and we are suing winstar. They will soon be paying many fines as well.

Desired outcome: Nothing… we are going to court.

Winstar Properties Invasion of privacy

On may 30 I noticed spycams that LAPD confirmed next morning pipe bursting in my bedroom around 630 am, maintenance worker for Winstar Properties altered and ungrounded my apartment unit electricity causing electromagnetic waves in my apartment and my cellphone was compromised for entire two months there was no onsite manager or response but an eviction.

Desired outcome: That criminal charges be file against maintenance worker

Winstar Properties complaint about crappy apt building

Beware prospect renters and stay away from this building! I had to move out due to the following. The current wannabe jersey shore manager name Francisco has let the building far apart. Grass 4ft high, garbage all over the floor interior/exterior of the building, he smokes in the parking lot and leaves the buds everywhere and now the other residents are doing the same. It was never like that before. That is a hazard and can cause a huge fire one day. Excessive amount of roaches/fruit flies inside of the apts and the exteriors of the building. Garbage cans overflowing with trash. Dogs running around with no leash and always barking/jumping on anyone that enters the building. Last but not least every 2 months religiously they do a routine check up on your apt. So get ready to miss a lot of days at work. They say its to look for leakage but you don't need to be doing this every 2 months. They complained that the water bill of the building was too high so their tactic is to get people annoyed so they stop using water. Winstar properties should not have purchased this property if they can't afford to pay the water bill. These studios are rent control (every year they raise the rent 4%) but for $1500 something bucks ( 400sq ft studio) this place is a DUMP. It is not worth it. Every time a tenant leaves they do some cosmetic changes on the unit and raise the price. So every couple of months there is construction going on, which is very annoying. Anyways---From a rude/unfriendly/careless manager to a building that is falling apart i say save yourself the headache and rent somewhere else!

Confirm all these problems including bed bugs (ask stanley pest control in LA), really bad management including Francisco.

Mice, roaches, garbage, crackheads, not a secure building half the time. Elevator has been broken almost every other week. Horrible plumbing + 3 different ghost managers including jersey shore Francisco. I can confirm bedbugs as well. Ask stanley pest control, they made some good money off of 854 south oxford. Oh yeah, dog feces everywhere including inside the building and in the elevator. The most dog feces around the building that other dog owners from the neighborhood used to frequent it. Car was stolen outside my apartment. Not a good place for my disability. They treat people like dogs.

Very very serious roach problem. It got so bad that I had to move when I started finding them on my bed! Disgusting! The day I moved I found a hole where they had been coming in. It was a true infestation. My neighbors complained of roaches too. Downstairs neighbor found mice in their unit as well!

Winstar Properties apt building management is the worst in hollywood

This is a rent control building that was apparently bought few years ago by Winstar Properties. Most units are no longer rent control because residents are being bought out for a very low amount of money. Poor/uneducated souls don't know they got a crappy deal! As these units are becoming vacant, they are just doing minor fixes and raising the rent $500 more. Unfortunately I got fooled and even though my studio looks pretty nice; the foundation is old and very poorly made. One day I'm sure this building will come down. Definitely very unsafe place to live. This old building is very overpriced for what you get. The building is very loud because of all the screaming done by drunk/drugged up tenants, junk is always found in the parking lot or lobby area floor. Things in the building are always breaking like pipes/parking lot and front doors/lights. Currently there is a on site manager who lives here. No one knows who he/she is. So god forbid you ever need something you will be screwed. Winstar properties does a poor job in communicating with the tenants, definitely a lot of shady things going on with management. I was reading some interesting things about them online. The off site manager is never at her office so it's like we don't even have one. She is like a ghost that doesn't even answer calls or emails so again good luck if you need anything. If you do find her 1 day and she you tell her about a problem she will say they are going to fix it but they never do or it will take them few months! But the thing everyone needs to be most concerned about with this property is the safety. Cars/motorcycles/bikes have been stolen. The parking lot is gated very poorly and I heard homeless people have sneaked into the building (front door tends to be broken a lot) and they sleep inside the laundry room. For what you are paying you are better off going somewhere that actually has a pool or at least a safe parking lot.

No one really uses the laundry room. Too expensive, old washers/dryers and room is too small. For what you are paying you are better off going somewhere that actually has a pool or at least a safe parking lot.

Winstar Properties Renting

The company promised me service to get a place took $30 off my account and never proceeded to follow through. I have to chase the original contact down to talk to him and keeps feeding me lies and blowing me off. I keep trying to look up the company but I get an automated service or a girl that tells me it has nothing to do with they're company. It is a fake scam and I am disputing my charges to fraud
