My complaint is that the VA has consistently denied my brother his full disability benefits for PTSD suffered as a Marine in the 70's. We were not told that because of his mental issues, my mom could be his fiduciary. We have had him committed involuntarily to a mental hospital as well as to the VA and each time, they would not increase his benefits, instead they would release him before the 21 days so that the process would have to start all over again without notifying me that he had been released even though he had extreme anger directed at me. They have refused to get his records from his previous commitments. Since my Mom;s death in 1995, he has been my responsibility and I have done all I can. His last commitment in 2012 was the last straw for me. The judge ordered that if he will not accept medication at the VA, he should be transferred to the state where he would be forced to take the medicine until he would take it on his on. The Doctor at the VA requested that an amendment be attached that would give him the right to administer the medication.Instead of following through with the medication, he told me that the medicine would not help and sent my brother to a homeless shelter in another county where I had to go get him. Because of his condition (PTSD and paranoid schizophrenia), I have moved to another state and he is basically homeless. The doctor informed that 'if he wanted to, he could have released my brother the day after he got there' and when I asked if he had reviewed my brother's past records, he told me he didn't have to!

Tuesday I found out I had a tumor from the receptionist at Oncology, the lady was very nice and said my Dr should have called me first, ya think!? My Dr at the Pensacola VA finally called me today, Thursday did not really talk to me about what was going on, just said 'don't worry about it' and then told me I should get Obama Care, because "my barber gets it for like 4 dollars a month". I'm a veteran and a wounded warrior. Why the hell would he suggest such a thing?

There are probably 6 "gay" doctors that you couldn't identify as such, for every one you can - or think you can. Think about that the next time you expose your unit.

my doctor sent me to a pain doctor but the fee basis had to ok it. i went to fee basis and talked to beth coulter the one in charge.i told her my sholder and left arm was hurting again. i told her the pain tablet would not stop the pain, she thought i was a joke. she told me if me she would never get a shot in her back. i told her if her back hurt like mind she would. she still thought i was a joke. i served 11 months 21 days in the bush in viet nam and wounded twice. what gave her the right to treat me like dirt. people like her is what is giving the va a bad name. the shot in the back is the only thing that will stop my pain. she don, t have to pay a cent for my shot. my name is eugene overstreet i served with the 4th inf. div. i am asking nothing for free i paid for my shot. my e-mail is eugeneoverstreet@YAHOO.COM

Same thing here. Took my wife's income tax refund (joint return), now going to tap my monthly social security. Went to VA in Chillicothe, Ohio for months with abdominal pain. Ran up huge co-pay bill. VA ran dozens of tests - Dr. said food poisoning. Wound up in VA hospital room at end of dimly lit, offset hallway with no phone. 24 Hours later sneaked a phone call out, immediately went to nearby civilian hospital (Adena) for emergency surgery. I'll be paying for years. Wish I'd never heard of VA!

Try the OK City VA. Same runaround with the Advocates. You have to wait three or more hours to see the doctor after you have checked in at your appointed time. They seem to think that our time is not as valuable as theirs and that we can just sit around and wait all day for them to see us. Even the receptionist are sometimes cold to veterans and think that they can order you around. I would like to know how many people at the VA have actually served in the Forces and if they had, would they like to be treated the same way?

The Detroit VA "patient advocate liaison" practices the I'm busy, out of the office, will call back, not available no contact rule when attempting to to file a report on a bad doctor. I know some of the vets have mental issues but the doctors should not.
