Tarps Plus / Abadak tarp

This is by far the worse tarp I have ever purchased. It didn't even make it a year. I have only had it on my hay stack for about 6 months and it is completely destroyed. It ripped right down the middle. And Tarps plus will do nothing for a return or anything to help me out. You can go to WallMart, Spend have the money a get a better tarp. Will not recommend to anyone!

Tarps Plus / Abadak The seller hasn't warned me on time that the order was sold out

I ordered 3 tents from the company www.abadak.com. I patiently waited for the delivery, but the rep contacted me and warned that my order was out of stock. I got this info 2 weeks after I placed the order. I didn’t understand why the seller hasn’t warned me earlier and what he was doing all this time. It was awful deal, so I contacted the seller and asked to return my money. Again, I heard some blah-blah, but in result no order and no money back.

Tarps Plus / Abadak Poor Quality Product and Shipping

This is what I sent to this company.

Received my tarp and here are my thoughts on this purchase

1. Not quite has heavy duty as I was expecting (also disappointed to see it was a “made in china” product)
2. The price of the shipping did not represent the package size, wt. or the quality of the packaging as the box was wide open on arrival (I feel that the $49.00 shipping was way too high)
3. After taking the multi layered wrappings off of the tarp found that the tarp was SOAKED with water(to a point water poured out of the inner most package
4. Due to the water soaking the entire tarp there was white mold throughout the tarp.
5. Every D-ring is rusted to a point of staining all the D-ring white nylon retainers.
It should be noted that the box did not look to be subjected to any moisture just the inner most product. Just poor box and tape on the outer packaging.

I do have pictures of all the above if you are interested.

I would have returned this product but my travel schedule dictated that I use this product for its intended use as I would have a hard time getting at this need before bad weather hits this area.

Over all my impressions of this purchase is that it was not a good value for the price paid.

Tarps Plus / Abadak False Advertising - Inferior Products

I ordered a 25 X 33 Hay Tarp. It arrived by Fed Ex. I could see by the weight and the size of the parcel it was not what I expected. I am betting it is a cheap imitation of the "real deal." I did not even bother opening the package and began calling the company to make arrangements to return it. I called 6 times and left messages, and after 24 hours, I called again and talked to someone who again promised to forward my complaint to the proper department. No matter how many times I called, I could not talk to someone who could help me with the return.

Tarps Plus / Abadak Defective tarp / bad customer service

On Friday May 16 2014 I ordered a 16x20 mesh tarp from tarpsplus.com.Received an email confirmation on Monday May 19, 2014 that tarp had shipped. Received tarp on Tuesday May 20, 2014. Proceeded to suspend tarp for shade in the back yard May 21, 2014 for a pending graduation party.Once it was up I noticed a large amount of thread hanging down from the tarp. As I took a closer look I noticed that there were rows of the weave missing. It was a little upsetting but I figured I would just exchange it. I called the 800 number and option for customer support, and it went to voice mail. I immediately called back and spoke to someone at the order desk. He took all my information and told me he would forward the information to the correct person and they would call me in the morning because they were gone for the day, BUT I CALLED DURING WORKING HOURS. He also gave me another number to call. By 10:00am the next day, May 22, 2014 no phone call. I called both numbers and it went to voice mail for the same person. I left messages at both numbers with the info. I also replied to the email from the shipping notice in the hopes that someone would call. No dice. I also sent an email to the parent company ABADAK.COM. No dice. THIS COMPANY SUCKS, NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT, EVEN FOR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS. I WISH I WOULD HAVE SEEN THE SITE BEFORE ORDERING. Tarps Plus / Abadak poor quality

Purchased this tarp in a 12x24ft size: Super Heavy Duty Silver Poly Tarpaulin
5.0 oz. Per Square Yard. - 1200 Denier - 12x14 mesh count, which claims to be Water Proof and Heavy Duty. We used it to cover a boat in a storage lot. Within 2 months the silver was flaking off and it leaked in even a small rain. We called to get a replacement and they said sorry, only a 30 day warranty. Don't trust their product descriptions and don't trust that this company will stand behind their products.

Tarps Plus / Abadak Fraud

After checking out many tarps online I ordered a 24'x30' Tarp from Tarps Plus 38940 Trade Center Dr. Palmdale, CA 93551 based on the description found on their web site

It was described as a "SUPER HEAVY DUTY BLACK OUT TARPS. The most durable and shields the best against the sun.Silver/Black Poly Tarp - Super Heavy Duty Poly Tarpaulin
7.0 oz. Per Square Yrd. - 1200 Denier - 14x16 Weave Count"
The 7.0 oz per square yard was a little heavier than some of the competitors tarps so I decided on the Purchase from Tarps Plus.
I received the tarp and began to put it up on my tent frame, the first thing I noticed was it seemed a bit light duty for what I was expecting, and the grommets were about pulling out when installed, one corner actually ripped of and I had to use another means to hold it to the frame. I figured something had to be wrong so began checking into what I received. First off the shipping weight was only 22 lbs, that did not add up as the square footage at 7 oz per square yard would mean the tarp should of weighed in at around 34 lbs. I sent an email out to Tarps plus at that time letting them know what I had discovered, but because of the time involved in getting a new one in from another company I was forced to use what I had ordered from them.
2 weeks went by with no response, my lawyer who is a friend of mine suggested I re contact them and try to return the tarp as they had falsely advertised the product.
I received an email back from them after I had told them I would report them to the authorities.
They wanted me to send in pictures of what I claimed seemed to be the problem showing all the damage. I got back to them again explaining the overall weight of the tarp which explains all that needs to be explained. In other words I purchased a 7.0 oz per square yard Tarp and received a 4.5 oz per square yard tarp from them, what more need to be said, I cannot take a picture of the lack in material, they need only to check the shipping bill and do the math. Other companies that sell tarps of the same heavy duty 6 oz and 7 oz material tell me that size tarp 24x30 that they sell weigh between 30 and 36 pounds depending on 6 oz or 7 oz
I seem to be getting know where with tarps plus.

Billboard Tarps from my seller. I assume all tarps are this way but for sure mine was from one dealer so beware of all the tarps!
I just bought two tarps. The first was really nice looking and I felt it was exactly what I needed for protecting my house I am building. I was wrong. It started coming apart and is leaking very much.20x60 feet. I got me another one and after I unfolded it and very sticky folds it looked like someone shot it with a shotgun. These tarps are hyped up to be something they are not. The material used is not strong enough to hold in a wind or heavy rain downpour. They need to make a tarp with a rubber coating, not vinyl. Rubber will give a lifelong use if embedded over webbing. So far I have not seen a tarp made to hold up within a cost I can afford for small uses. These tarps develop splits. They must be taped over in order to hold out. I recommend to buy some strong duct tape that will adhere to these tarps. These tarps are called "billboard tarps." They do leak. They do tear, They are not waterproof, only in a few sections as the other sections let go. I was told I could be given a refund and that I was the only one that complained!

Tarps Plus / Abadak Bogus Company Scammers

I also called tarpsplus before I placed my order to make sure that the tarp would cover my 20' Trophy Bayliner boat. They said that the 20-22' tarp would work fine for me...I questioned them again just to make sure. The reason I called them was because I had called other boat cover manufacturers to find out if the tarp would actually fit my size of boat.
Then I ordered the tarp online, received it and it was 2' too short all the way around (canvas and straps). After being on hold for 20 minutes at a time numerous times, they finally got back on and said that they had NO RECOLLECTION of anyone calling and talking to their staff before buying. The person that gave me the runaround for 3 days was Simeon Alexander. He then put me on to a so-called corporate manager by the name of Scott.
Scott just flatly said that we opened the box and now we are stuck with this product. I said I would talk to Visa and get the charges removed. Scott laughed and said, hey we've done this many times...if you ship it back, we will just refuse it so you won't get your money back. How is that for a company that answers the phone and says, how can I give you outstanding service?
Customer service also told me to take pics and send them to tarpsplus...go figure...now the guy says we are stuck with the cover. Great business sense!
Tarpsplus is an absolute RIPPOFF and should have their license taken away by the chamber of commerce. I'll be writing them today too. This company is nothing but trouble and I would suggest people refrain buying products from them.

I ordered 'tarps' (which were indoor painting drop cloths, not a tarp) to be curtains in my gazebo. I hung them and when it got humid, it didn't even rain, they had black mold on them. I called the company and they said that had never happened before...The supervisor wouldn't even talk to me. Customer service said my 30 days were up (they'd only been hung for 15 days). I went thru my credit card company which was a JOKE. I sent pictures but they wanted (after the 90 day time limit) a professional opinion. Where was I going to get a professional tarp opinion? Anyway, the credit card company weaseled out of it and I'm holding the bag on moldy curtains. Don't buy from TarpsPlus

I have had dealings with customer service as well, it seems taking pictures and sending them in to them is their standard reply, they could care less if the customer is satisfied as long as they get their money, stay away from them, there are alot more tarp companies out there to deal with, choose one of them

wow, I like to keep my eye on this site simply to get an idea of who I maybe dealing with for any given reason. If the service is as stated thats pretty bad. However in there defense... the product on your boat doesn't look bad. In fact it looks like it fits! I dont have a boat so I dont know why I would go to that company for product ... But maybe you just had a bad experience ... cause if the boat cover is what you wanted it looks good on the photos.

multiple companies: tarpsplus.com, acecanopy.com, and abadak.com.
all same address. service is terrible. they post an Authorization Hold on your card, then charge you, essentially tying up twice the cost in your account until all funds have cleared. I shop online often and have NEVER seen a company do this. Based on my research and similar complaints as above, I would stay away from all of these companies. I understand the owner is one Michael Stein of California.

So far, it looks like I'm another "found out too late" customer. Ordered two 10 x 12 30mil tarps ($825.52) and received two tarps marked 10 x 12 20mil. Advertised 24hr customer service is answering operator who takes your info for call-back. Probable loss of $200. False advertising Internet (FBI; BBB;Texas Consumer Affairs). Info re: "Norton Shopping Guarantee" doesn't exist. We'll see if any solution is provided.

Originally ordered a full canopy, for which I was completely satisfied. A year later I ordered two replacement tarps, which arrived just fine.
However the first replacement tarp dry-rotted in just 3 1/2 months. On July 6, 2015, I called C/S and brough it to their attention. The lady graciously offered to provide a single "good will" replacement. I called again on July 17th(live person), August 6th(VM), August 11(VM), August 12(VM), and again on August 13th(live person)... still no tarp despite assurances as late as August 13th that the tarp would be shipped.
I live about an hour from their Palmdale outlet and am tempted to go tune up somebody! This review is consistent with YELP reviews and others on this site that complain about zero followthrough. Must have been really lucky with my 1st 2 orders!

I ordered a canopy from Ace Canopy (abadak) and they originally did not ship it to me. After a few calls, I was able to receive it from their Texas warehouse. It was the wrong size from what I ordered. I have sent 7 emails to customer service and made 6 phone calls. Every phone call I have reached the "order line" instead of customer service. I have tried several days of the week and at all times during their operating hours. I have been told that customer service may be out to lunch, have too many calls so it rolled over to the order line and a few other excuses why I do not get customer service.

I was told that Angelina is the only person who can assist me, but still no return call or email. I am sure that the CEO, Michael Stein, has no idea how poor his customer service representative is. I am looking for contact information for him and want to advise him in order to get my $80.00 back.

Very sad and unprofessional for such a large company to treat their customers like this.

This is the first time I have ever felt duped by an online vendor. It has been ten days since I placed my order and I have heard nothing since. E-mails are not answered, telephone calls go to voicemail and any human contact you make with them is for placing orders only, with no means available to check on an order.
In the future I will always check for complaints before placing an order. The worst part is they are a BBB approved vendor. I guess they must pay their dues on time.

I placed an order for 8 patio chairs over a week ago. I viewed my account online at abadak and noticed the order was still pending. I called customer service at abadak over 5 times with no resolution. They kept transfering me to different people, all voicemails and I have had it. I called today 9 days later to cancel my order and they said ok, no problem. They were unable to give me a confirmation number. This company is very shady. Please do not order anything from them! Horrible experince.

I also wish i had checked this site before I ordered. I would like to hear from anyone who has been able to use their "store credit". I placed an order with it, and a month later I am still getting the run around. They seem to have a series of hoops you have to jump though, and if you make it to the end, they just start again. When I called this morning they could not find my order, then it was on back order, and then it had been drop shipped. Crystal said she would send me a confrimation email in 5 min. Still waiting. But Jared told me the same 2 weeks ago. I think they need a IRS audit to see where all the "store credits" are. They are not people you want to do business with.

On march 18, 2010 I ordered a custom canopy from Ace canopy. A 6 pole heavy duty 10 x 10 enclosed canopy . On June 18 we decided to set it up to make sure we knew how to prepare for the summer craft show season. When I opened up the pipes they had not been de burred when they were cut. The insides of every pipe had a razor sharp burr on it. I thought it shouldn't have been overlooked before shipping but I went ahead and filed them all smooth. Then we started to set up the canopy. I had to file the inside and outside of every pipe and connector to even get it to go together. Another little aggravation. Then when we got the frame together and started to attach the canopy we found out that all the bungy cords were 12 in long instead of 6 in like the packages said. We had to wrap the cords twice to get them to work and then things really went wrong. The top tarp was not wide enough. The gable end tarps were not wide enough. After failing to get any of the tarps to fit I did a little measuring. THEY sent me a 11" x 9'2" frame, and tarps for a 10 x 10.
That's when I went in and wrote them an e mail. Took them 3 days to respond and only after calling. They needed my order# which I sent them. In a weeks time, countless e mails and several phone calls the only response I can get is " sorry for your inconvenience but its not under warranty". I asked them to explain to me what the warranty has to do with anything. I ordered a 10 x 10, paid for a 10 x 10, and my receipt is for a 10 x 10. I got a 11 x 9'2" frame . I have repeatedly asked for a supervisor but cant get one to respond. To date Ace canopy has refused to address this problem .

I ordered a tarp yewsterday for $199.77 then when I checked my bank acfct on line last night I found that another $211 had been charged. So now I have (2) charges against me. Until one clears.
Although I can weather this situation, I still am uncomfortable with this practice.
I too wish I had found this site "before" I placed my order.

I am going to try and cancel this morning, if for no other reason than to give myself some peace of mind.

The company cannot be trusted. I placed an order for a tarp and was immediately charged. But the product was not sent. A week later I as told it would be sent that day. It was not. Two weeks later I was told that it was out of stock and it would not be sent for at least another week--in other words, at least a month after the order was placed. I cancelled and hope the money will be refunded to my credit card.

Ordered two tarps from company, never got confirmation of shipping - after contacting them repeatedly, was told the item was out of stock. I had already been charged, so I asked for a refund. Had to speak to three people, and almost two months later, I still do not have my money back. I have submitted a formal complaint through the BBB.

TarpsPlus is a bogus company. Placed an order online for a flame ###ant canvas tarp. I requested information about the chemical product used in their tarps because of an article in the LA Times about flame ###ant products being harmful to your health. When asked TarpPlus to provide the chemical components of the fire ###ant, they said that they would get back to me. When they didn't, I called and sent an email to cancel that order and replace it with a regular canvas tarp, but a few days later, the flame ###ant tarp was delivered. When I requested a canvas tarp, they said that I must first return the one I had. I then asked that they pay for the return shipping as well as original shipping which they declined. I requested that they credit my charge account, they refused, and said that I now have an online credit for another tarp, which I have not done due to extremely distrustful service. Wells Fargo, a bank that I have been with for over 30 years, declined to do anything about it, even though this is the first customer complaint that I ever placed.

Does anyone know what consumers may do to put TarpsPlus out of business and their owner behind bars for fraudulent business practices?

I have been buying product from TARPSPLUS for 5 years now and I love their service, The staff knows me when I call to place orders and I have nothing bad to say. Although about the hold on credit cards that's the bank that does it It's not the company. I see that often when I purchase things that cant be delivered the same or next day like some merchandise at tarpsplus. Overall I have to disagree with this complaint.

Ordered a 40x40 tarp...website states tarp may be 6" to 2% smaller than actual size (at the end of several paragraphs). Well tarp is more than 2% smaller and they have passed me from person to person and all of them saying they will not send me the size tarp that I needed. They will try to stick you...better watch out !

Tarps Plus / Abadak shipping

TERRIBLE order page protocol and customer service.

The order page submitted after one click (no review window, no ability to agree on shipping costs) It accepted an order with no last name and no country entered and then defaulted the country to the first one, alphabetically, AFGHANISTAN! That's right, California, Afghanistan... And charged $134 shipping for one tarp (should have been $8!)

I called, horrified that the order went through without being able to see what the shipping would be. They managed to send the tarp but have yet to refund the shipping difference - it's been a month!

They keep saying someone else has to approve it, the shipping & refund dept. is not part of the same company - must be a third-party drop-ship affair.

No way to run a business. I just wish there were more places to post complaints.

Ace Canopy / Tarps Plus has a terrible order page protocol and customer service, which I was unaware of because their webpage has the look of a reputable company. The first red flag came when they did provide an email confirmation receipt when the order was placed. They would not verify the chemical component of their flame ###ant when requested, and sent a tarp despite a change order. They refused to provide a refund and credit an account when tarp was returned. They said a replacement tarp could be ordered via online. Since their online service was questionable, I requested to speak with their sales department. I left a voice message which was never returned.

Tarps Plus / Abadak returning merchindise.

Opened a tarp to see if it was as per discription of what I ordered. Also to see color ( it is described as tan but it is'nt quite what I would call tan.) Well the paper work inside the box spells out the return policy right on the invoice. BUT there is a catch. On the outside of the shipping box there is a different statement re: returns. It says you can not open up the packaging of the tarp. Well my gosh how are you to see if what you ordered and what is in the package is the same? Once you open the package you are stuck with the tarp. What kind of double statement is that. Invoice says one thing and a sticker on the outside of the shipping box says something different.
Any body else see the delima. and any ideas on what to do. Trying to speak to someone is a joke there is only voice mail and no calls back. I wonder why.

do not buy from this company, this is a total SCAM, the quality of their products SUCKS, after recieving my $90 trap, i called customer service they will not return my $90 pice of ### tarp, told me to dispute this with my credit card... TOTAL SCAM...

I bought a replacement tarp and when I received it it was spliced together and useless for a high wind area. I called for a return number and returned it. After many calls and a lot of headaches, I received my replacement tarp on 7/15. Catch: They shipped the same old spliced tarp back to me. They did not even take it out of the box I returned it in. They just put a new shpping lable on it and send it back to me. I called and left messages for a supervisor, Daniel Ramirez they told me, and guess what, no one called back. I will never buy anything from these people. I tried to talk to Michael Stein, the CEO, but he hiddes behind his staff of 25 people and I was unable to reach him. I am very upset with these unprofessional people.

Tarps Plus / Abadak Bad products

We bought online under an advertised aura of "heavy duty top quality tarps". After receiving our three tarps, we discovered one had a hole, and all were flimsy and not waterproof. We called to request a refund, we discovered that their tarps are not waterproof, and that the packages are not returnable after they have been opened. They did send a replacement for the one that had a hole. We bought other tarps from a local hardware store to cover our dirt bikes, and used the TarpsPlus tarps to cover things that didn't need to be dry, in an effort to protect them from the sun and have the dark green colour help them blend in and make them less visible to those walking above our house. Within a month, the tarps had faded to yellow. We have not contacted TarpsPlus since the initial time. Why try? They'll just say that their tarps are not colourfast, just like they are not waterproof. Bad products . . . We'd just like to warn others.
