SPS review: Foreclosure

We have owned our home for 20 n years and owe more then we bought it for. We have been threatened and even had to pay for an attorney they hired which was 4000. We asked for a loan modification and was denied. Friday we got a call from a Robert White saying they would do the loan modification. He said I need to send a money order not made out to an address to an attorney in California. We sent 1000 dollars. Something is just not right with all of this because he was calling from select portfolio services. I will just have to see if he is on the up and up or if we are being scammed.
