Please do not buy a kitten from Anastasia. I have never been treated with such contempt in regards to a pet. I asked her about the time on the waiting list and she lied to me, stating that by Christmas I should have a kitten. I told her I was very sick and she still has been heartless, rude and unprofessional with me. It's has been the weirdest interaction I have ever had with a business owner. So, I told her that I want to get my deposit back. She thens emails me a weird contract stating that I would not be able to share my story via any platform. It was her way of a non-disclosure agreement. She didn't have an attorney read over it or make it official or anything. She emailed me and I sent it back, I scanned it, because at this point, I just wanted my money back. Then she said you have to print it out and mail, I feel she purposely was putting me through loops for the $200 deposit back. Then I said to myself, maybe she doesn't have the money to send it back and my kind self said, Anastasia, just leave me on the waiting list, she then says no, you should get another breeder. I said ok. I now found a wonderful breeder (I will share with any of you) and I told her since she didn't want to do business with me for personal reason, I shouldn't have to go through loops to get the $200 deposit back because she informed me that she didn't want to do business with me and I was ok with that. I just want everyone to know what kind of a business this is.
Please remove complaint.
Fraudulent business practice
On 10/1 I sent Anastasia Moccaldi, Owner/Operator of Snowy Hollow Siberian Cats, $200 deposit for a cat. The balance was to be paid upon delivery of the animal. Per Anastasia, she would deliver the cat after she to her to the vet to have her neutered. Shortly after, my wife then received a call saying that the cat died during the process and that the deposit would be returned. 2 months later I am still waiting for the return of my $200 deposit.
My wife has followed up with the owner every week only to have her make empty promises of returning the money she defrauded my family and I out of. After every call she says, "I will have it to you at the end of the week..." To anyone considering doing business with this operator, I would caution against it. She can not be trusted and lacks integrity. We should have done our due diligence prior to engaging with her.
After this incident, I googled her business and found numerous complaints: https://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/snowy-hollow-siberian-cats-breeder-selling-sick-kittens-c838609.html
Avoid this business at all cost. If you know anyone considering using a breeder, avoid this business at all cost
Cats & kittens
I am writing to alert people who are looking to adopt a kitten from SNOWY HOLLOW SIBERIANS to be aware of the potential issues. I wish I had read the previously posted complaint on this site before committing serious dollars to adopting a kitten from this breeder, because our experience has been quite similar, only maybe worse. [Note: We would have adopted a rescue kitten, but my granddaughter and I are allergic to cats, and this 'hypo-allergenic' breed does not cause an allergic reaction in either of us.] Our kitten, "Sky", arrived with virulent diarrhea. The breeder told me it probably was an adjustment issue with her new environment. After days of changing litter, box locations, etc., I took Sky, who seemed to be in considerable pain, to the vet. Lab tests showed the highest level of Giardia, contracted before she arrived in our pet-free home. I sent the lab report to the breeder, so she would know that her many other cats and kittens might also be infected. I received no response. After 6 weeks on antiobiotics and more than $1000 in vet expenses, the Giardia blessedly cleared. By that time, however, Sky still only weighed 2.5#, slightly more than when we received her. Her immune system was weakened and a virus took hold. Her fever reached 105.5 degrees. The vet prescribed antibiotics, in hopes that it was a bacterial infection. She is at the vet's several times a week for weigh-ins and fluids. We have invested yet another $1000+ in this precious little, sick kitten. With no improvement, the vet believes Sky has Coronavirus, and likely FIP, which is a fatal, highly contagious feline disease that was, most certainly, contracted at the breeder's. At 5 months of age, Sky still weighs only 2.5#... a scrawny little fur ball who no longer eats or plays. I am feeding her pureed food and water by syringe many times each day to try to help her gain strength. When I realized that we had adopted a sick kitten, I wrote a review on Snowy Hollow's FB page. Up until that point, the breeder had expressed little interest in Sky's condition, but the review clearly got her attention: She told me it would ruin her business and take food off her table for her and her children. She also recommended a stronger antibiotic that my vet and research stated would have been too strong and probably would have killed Sky. The breeder has since removed my review from her FB page. Because it no longer is there to alert prospective buyers, I am posting here for people to be aware that the other review on this site is not the only bad experience.
IF YOU ARE SEEKING INFORMATION RE: SNOWY HOLLOW SIBERIAN CATS, THERE ARE TWO THREADS: THIS ONE, AND ANOTHER THAT REFLECTS CONSIDERABLE INPUT FROM THE BREEDER, HER FRIEND & FELLOW BREEDER, AND TWO OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH SICK SNOWY HOLLOW KITTENS, JUST AS I HAVE HAD. HERE IS THE LINK TO THAT SITE: Snowy Hollow Siberian Cats — Breeder selling sick kittens
As an UPDATE on our kitten, Sky: Since my July 14th post here, she continued to decline, with loose bloody stools, no appetite, and major neurological changes that impacted her balance and behavior. At four months of age, she began growling, scratching, and biting. Even though she weighed only three pounds, we no longer could safely pet her, or have her around our little grandchildren. I consulted with numerous feline specialists. At six months of age, we had to euthanize her. Our hearts are broken, and our wallets are empty.
During Sky's illness, I updated Anastasia, Snowy Hollow's breeder. She showed little interest or empathy. After repeated contacts, she did offer to refund my payment for the cat [this did not include the thousands of dollars we spent on vet care], as long as I kept quiet about the situation and didn't post any negative reviews. I refused to accept her bribe, telling her that Sky and we were not for sale. In the Complaints Board link cited above, the breeder and her friend attempted to villify us for reporting the truth of our pets' illnesses. We believe several other Snowy Hollow owners who posted negative reviews on Yelp were silenced into submission and withdrew their reviews.
BOTTOM LINE: WHEN PURCHASING FROM A BREEDER, PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO THE EXPERIENCES OF OTHER BUYERS, AS WELL AS UNDERSTAND HOW THE BREEDER RESPONDS WHEN INFORMED THAT SHE IS BREEDING SICK KITTENS. LET THE BUYER BEWARE.
Thank you for saving others from heartache!
Snowy Hollow Siberian Cats - Breeder selling sick kittens
It's been 3 months since purchasing my kitten from Snowy Hollow the beginning of October 2016 and I cannot recommend you purchase a kitten from Anastasia. The day after we took her home we took him to the vet because we were kind of concerned about his eye. This was something that I asked her about when we went to pick him up. She told me that he wasn't...
