Put an antique book for sale on Craigslist.Received notification that Cole Smith was interested in book.I was told by e-mail that there was no problem with asking priceof book.I then was told that they would pay me $100.00 to remove advert from craigslist.I agreed to terms, they asked for address, phone number and name of person that check should be filled out to.When got final details of sale was suspicious and they were asking for me to send them a check.I then did some research on ripoff.com and found out that this had happened to other people. The e-mails that were sent to them were the exact ones that were sent to me.I told them to contact my husband because he would have final say on the sale of book. The e-mail that was sent back to me said ok but they would need their check ASAP.I e-mailed back and explained that i would not be sending them money and felt that I was being scamed.I then received an e-mail stating that they were a real business and I was insulting their personality and they would be happy to charge me to court. This e-mail did not make any sense and was a little threatening.I just would like to warn other consumers about these web sites.

Good morning,

I posted a for sale ad on Craig' list to sell my dresser. The same guy contacted me and wanted to buy, asking me for all kind of information about myself. I read your posts before replying to him and that was the end of it. Thank you all.

Oh my gosh.! The same guy is doing the same to me, but he doesn't want me to send him a check. He was going to buy my dog for $700 but he added $200 for my troubles to send money to someone. I'm so glad nothing happened. Why hasn't the police been involved with him?
