NetSpend - Locked out of my account

So all of a sudden I got locked out of my account after trying to transfer money to my PayPal. They say they can't let me back in my account because they can't verify my address even though I've sent them eight documents with my address on it.. I even sent them a copy of my lease agreement for my apartment which obviously has my address and my name on it. I...

NetSpend - Debit account

My account was hacked today. My entire paycheck from my employer is gone. How did you allow someone to change my phone number to a phone number that is not even from the State I live in? Netspend states the following: "Netspend uses modern technology and tools to protect customers' money from scams. One of the primary ways Netspend protects its customer...

NetSpend I like Netspend

I personally really enjoy having netspend. I have had several times where my account has been hacked. Netspend has made it right every single time. I would not have known right away if it weren't for them flagging my account. They really do pay attention to what is right on my account and what is not. They have always reimbursed me when my account has been hacked. Just today I had a company charge me the same thing twice. That company stated they could only see the one transaction. They asked for my bank to be on the line to verify. I got Netspend on the line and they verified that there were 2 of the same transaction. Netspend declined the 2nd transaction and refunded my money back immediately. I love that you get paid before the actual pay date. I don't like the fee for the ATM, as the ATM's charge a fee and then Netspend charges a fee. I love how even transactions that are pending have already come out of the available balance immediately. I have overdrawn several banks for this alone. All in all, I've had Netspend for 5 years and I don't plan on leaving them anytime soon!

NetSpend I think this is a great set up for the irresponsible

I think this is a great set up for the irresponsible, you do pay 9.95 a month to keep this card, but it a lot cheaper than banks overdraft fees. You put money on the card, and the card quits working when your out of money, no worry.

NetSpend I reached a customer service Star

I reached a customer service Star - it happens!
I can be quite vocal when it comes to complaining about something I don't like, it's easy. However, when I receive great service I like to celebrate it as well.
The call I had was a "once in a lifetime" type of call. It was like speaking with an old time friend who related to me well and was able to take care of my needs as a netspend customer as well. Now I think it will be impossible for me to think of netspend without a smile on my face.
My customer service agent was kind, supportive and incredibly helpful.

Even though I had many other things to do, I just wouldn't be able to sleep without writing a review just like I told him I would.
Netspend makes me happy by paying me ahead of time. I have my money and can take care of what I need to while my co-workers are still waiting for their checks.
Also if I am in a tight spot their $10 cushion has covered me. No cost for it at all. I can go over and then it's taken back when I get my next deposit. You won't know how cool that is until you have to use it. I am so used to it that when I have $500 in my account, in my head I say I have $510--LOL! Sweet!

I won't get paid for this and I don't work for them. I am simply keeping my world.
I told my rep that I would post at least 5 reviews because I was just that "happy".
Magic doesn't happen with every person we come into contact with but sometimes it does and it's best to rave about it. If I was angry I'd probably write 10 reviews so really I am just balancing things out in the universe. I am sending out some good and it feels good. I hope everyone gets to speak with a good rep.

Tip: Sometimes when you see someone isn't going to help you/isn't nice, just end the call and call back for that perfect one. I have done that with every customer service line in the world. Also, I work in customer service and I always try to be that "person" that you are happy you reached. I will speak to you kindly and smile even if I am sad or ticked off:-) as I do everything I can to help you because I love being treated well too! Cheerio!

NetSpend Denied receiving my stimulus payment

Last year I received my social security disability and was told to be on the lookout for a direct Express card. I had just moved and the only people who had my new address was the social security office and I hadn't even put in a change of address form yet. A couple of days later I received a NetSpend card in the mail with my name on it and when I called to see if my benefits was on it I was told that this was the card I was waiting for and they gave me the account number and routing number for me to send to the social security office and was told to apply for the stimulus check and to enter the information they gave me. I was told there was a time limit and to hurry up and apply. I used the information and applied for the stimulus payment and before I could contact the social security office I received a direct Express card in the mail? I contacted them to activate my account and told them what NetSpend had done and they stated that they are not affiliated with NetSpend and the social security office wouldn't be sending me a netspend card EITHER! I contacted them about it and was given the run around and continually lied to. When I tried to use the irs website to change the account information it was too late! Last year I kept calling and emailing them about my payment and was told that I never got one and this year I got on the irs website and it shows a scheduled deposit on April 15th? I received a letter from the IRS stating that payment was taken for child support but the 2nd payment is clear and nobody can take it away. The irs website shows a scheduled deposit on January 4th to the NETSPEND account and I haven't received my money yet? NetSpend keeps CLAIMING that there is no record of any transaction and to contact the IRS? I have done so on many occasions and they have informed me that if it says scheduled deposit on a certain date and has the account number than they DID IN FACT SENT IT! Now I'm having to file a trace on the payment to find out where my money is! Netspends app shows NOTHING ACCEPT TO BE READY FOR A ECONOMIC STIMULUS PAYMENTS AND TO MAKE SURE I HAVE A CARD AND IT KEEPS SENDING ME EMAILS about having direct deposit when I am signed up for EVERYTIME ALERTS?! IF NETSPEND DIDN'T LIE TO ME I WOULD HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED MY PAYMENTS BECAUSE PEOPLE ON SOCIAL SECURITY DIDN'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING AND THE FUNDS WAS AUTOMATIC... NOW I'M TRYING TO GET THE MONEY AND ANSWERS EVERYBODY ELSE HAS GOTTEN AND DON'T KNOW HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO GET MY MONEY BUT 1 THINGS FOR SURE... THE IRS AND THE SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE IS AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND I INTEND ON CANCELING THE ACCOUNT TO MAKE SURE THE NEXT ROUND OF STIMULUS PAYMENTS DEPOSITED WILL NEVER GO TO MY NETSPEND CARD! AS OF THIS MORNING THE IRS WEBSITE STILL STATES THE PAYMENT WAS SENT AND WHEN I CALL NETSPEND I BET THEY SAY THE SAME THING... THEY DON'T HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OR RECORD OF ANY TRANSACTION... BUT METABANK SAYS IT'S NOT THEM AND THEIR NOT INVOLVED WITH IT BUT THEIR NAME IS ON THE CARD AS THE ONE WHO ISSUED IT AND MASTERCARD ISNT INVOLVED BUT THEIR LOGO IS ON THE FRONT? I BELIEVE THEY ARE STEALING MONEY FROM PEOPLE (AT LEAST IN MY CASE) AND SOMETHING SHADY IS GOING ON WHEN A COMPANY LIES TO A DISABLED PERSON AND TRICKS THEM INTO ACTIVATING THERE CARD AND WILL NOT STRAIGHTEN THINGS OUT BETWEEN THE IRS, SOCIAL SECURITY AND MYSELF!

NetSpend It's great until the point of 30$ overdraft fee adding another 30 without any notification

It's great until the point of 30$ overdraft fee adding another 30 without any notification. Would be nice if I know what is going on as well the pending don't get delayed. And it happens twice. I'm starting to question myself on going on a different account.

I received a Netspend gift card for a birthday present. My mom bought it for $2.95 and asked for the clerk to load it with $50. About a month later, I receive it in the mail and called the number to activate the card. Three phone calls later I get a service person on the phone and they take all of my information required to activate the card which took approximately 20 minutes. Then they informed me that the balance was down to zero because this card charges $5.95 per month inactivation fee when there is no activity on the card even before it's activated. In reviewing the outside packaging there is nothing that states this so that a consumer does not know this stipulation until after they purchase and open the packaging. To me this seems like something Netspend needs to let consumers know prior to buying. Thanks but no thanks to ever buying this card again.

Absolutely awful company. I bought this for a disabled friend and tried setting it up. I had all the information they needed and yet they wouldn't let me activate it. The manager *** up the phone on me in the middle of explaining things. I would absolutely not recommend this card for anyone. Worst prepaid card experience ever. If I could give a 0 I would have.

They allowed someone to take my money off my card in 10 transaction and blocked my card. About time I called them to unblock my card someone at NetSpend stole *** off my card . I had to stop all my cards from them and order a new one. Then they claim they did there investigation and saw no fraud and never gave me my money back. They said my claim was closed. I've been with them since 2013 and have never had this type of problem. I will never get a card from them ever again. All this happened on March 3, 2023.. minutes apart . And the crazy part about it I was at work..

NetSpend Used this card for purchases over the course of two years, Card works exactly as described as a high fee debit card

Used this card for purchases over the course of two years, Card works exactly as described as a high fee debit card. Never had issues with card being declined because it was not accepted by a vendor. I think a lot of people have trouble using the card because they view it as a disposable gift card not a actual financial institution debit card.I give it 3 stars due to the high fees

This is a company that has horrible customer service yes they're convenient and good for what you need right away but when it comes to depending on them to operate like a bank that is something that you definitely should not do the customer service is like talking to an idiot on the side of the street they're so disrespectful and when you calling and crying about your money that's come up missing that they've allowed someone to take that you didn't authorize and you asked for a supervisor because they don't understand what you're asking all they do is hang up on you is such a disrespectful customer service process there's no management there's no structure and there's no professionalism bank with them at risk they will allow people to access your account even though you didn't authorize it

I've had an account with Netspend since *** and have never really had a problem with them until recently. I closed my account with them on February 24th, due to them requiring Identity verification which I did provide, however since my ID had my current address and not my mailing address which is in ***, *** I live in ***, *** that's a pretty far distance they wouldn't accept this as ID verification. They wanted me to provide them with an ID that stated my *** address, I don't live in *** my ex-wife lives there and they wanted me to provide a copy of Social Security Card which due to Covid is kind of impossible to get a replacement card due to the *** being closed. I also provided them with mail from my *** address, this wasn't a bill which like I said I don't live there so why would I have bills over there they didn't accept it neither. Anyways my only other option was to close my account and have them mail me a check with the remaining balance in my checking account which was $1,203.66 I was told they mail this and I would receive it in 10 business days. I have called them a total of 4 times because I did this in February shortly after receiving my Direct Deposit from the Va for March's payment and it is now April 12th, each time I call to ask where my check is the idiots who work there tell me that they have the wrong address and the process starts all over. the first time i called they never mailed me a check so I called back on March 10th only to be told that my account was still open and that a check was never mailed out. So I officially closed my account for the 2nd time on March 10th 14 business days went by and I called them back to check the status and I gave them my *** address and still they keep dropping the ball. I called them back April 10th and the customer service rep couldn't tell me where they sent my check.

I had a netspend card for necessity after someone hacked my bank account to the tune of $3000. I was then expected to pay it back and not until then would I be able to open another account, so I was desperate. I cannot believe this bank gets away with the many things they have done to me causing me to fly into rages from the frustration of not being able to , one, understand the customer service people because they could hardly speak english which made things double stressful.Until recently I was under netspends nightmare, and I am so happy I finally got a account at a place I can have my money available to me, when I need it!Netspend has allowed people to withdrawal money in the hundreds! The worst part is when I have tried to purchase something and they put holds on it! Netspend has given my money to companies without my permission, they have sent me other customers paperwork to their bank account! I would not take this time out of my day to write this if Netspend had made mistakes here and there, however it was a constant NIGHTMARE, and one thing after another happened that was all possible. Netspend is ludicrous, and a perfect example of organized crime! Whoever runs this show needs to be hung in my opinion your organization is obviously for more than just profit... and my guess is that the people in charge care less because they will be bailed out by the f*%kin feds! Sleep tight Netspend! SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES!

NetSpend I have been with skylight one for over 2 years and I don't understand all the bad reviews on here

I have been with skylight one for over 2 years and I don't understand all the bad reviews on here. I get paid 2 days early with my direct deposit, when I put cash on my card it is available right away. I don't get charged when I use a atm. I have the overdraft protection so if my card is overdrawn I have 24 hours to have the money in the bank and I want be changed a overdraft few. And everytime I call customer service I have had my problem taking care of even disputed transactions. And I have had successful dispute. So if you are thinking about signing up for a skylight one account please give it a try before you listen to all the bad reviews because I have nothing but good things to say about skylight.

I wish I could give them no stars. When activation of the card, they give you security questions. 3 days ago I activated the card and have not used. I woke up this morning with a text from them saying if I didn't do a change of address or ask for a new card to call them. They couldn't answer where it was going, why I received the text, couldn't provide a manager, put me hold and never came back to me, and only read from script never answering anything. The only thing she did was cancel the new card that was in the mail. I then went and took out all the money that was in the account and bout to cancel the card I have. Ridiculous how it runs and giving a new card to a scammer without answering any of the security questions. If this is how it is run then it should not be up and running.

I got a gift card for christmas. When I called to activate it it says i already did. I emailed the company directly spend countless hours with no help. For some reason you can't speak to someone from *** and there is no supervisior that you can speak too that will resolve this issue. THEY ONLY THING THEY SAY IS YOU HAVE TO Go TO AUTOMATED PROMPTS. The company tells me to input my social and name says it doesnt match. The card expired 3/2023. ITS VERY UPSETTING TO KNOW THAT I CANT GET MY $100. To me it feels that the company just wants the company and doesnt care if you cant spend it.

I purchased a card in which was unable to activate. When I called NetSpend they claimed I was high risk and couldn't activate the card. I asked them to define high risk and how is that applied to a card in which I deposited funds on? The only amount I'm allowed access is the amount I had previously loaded onto the card. The answer they gave was sorry we can't activate the card. They also requested my entire social security number towards a prepaid card. The final response was Only a claim to close my account and reissue the card minus the fees. NetSpend is Fraud. They claim "garantees funds immediately after activation". They have no legal explanation as to why they won't allow activation other than an unanswered "high risk" claim. This company is a fraud and doesn't even deserve 1 star. They request personal information they shouldn't. I would not recommend NetSpend to anyone. This is from personal experience and now my funds are tied up into a card I'm unable to use with legitimate reason as why I cannot.

NetSpend I have had my Control Mastercard for over six years and Netspend always "has my back" every time I file a dispute

I have had my Control Mastercard for over six years and Netspend always "has my back" every time I file a dispute. Seeing money removed from one's account for any unauthorized reason is very frustrating and put him or her in a serious bind. However, Netspend works quickly to resolve the problem. I love playing video games, and sometimes I make purchases to help me advance to the next level, but I never spend more than $5.00. However, I accidentally selected a purchase of $99.99, and immediately I started panicking. I contacted the developer and was sent an email stating they would not return my money if any of the rewards had been used. I had used 5 of the 600 jewels I accidentally purchased, so I was very upset, thinking I would not get my money back. I contacted Netspend by filing a dispute and three days later, they gave me a provisional credit of $99.99 while they investigated the problem. One week later, I received a notification from Netspend stating the provisional credit was final and my dispute was settled! Needless to say, I was thrilled! I love Netspend! This company truly cares about me and my money! :)

If you are thinking of using Netspend. DO NOT do it! I had an account for 3 yrs. and ordered a new card last year. I got the card and activated it. 4 months later I received an email reminding me to activate my card. I called them and asked what they were talking about. The customer service person said my card was activated and didn't know why I got the email. A week goes by and another email to activate my card. I called again and the *** said they didn't know and "transferred" me to the supervisor. Right back to the automated greeting to start the ***. Got a *** went through the whole thing again. This one said they would have to talk to someone to please hold. When she got back, she said the system had sent out a card recently that it was automated system. I told the person that I had ordered a new card 4 months earlier and already gotten it and activated it. She said she didn't know and to hold please. Came back on line and said she thought it might be a new chip card. I told her I hadn't ordered it and didn't want it to cancel it. She said okay but I wouldn't be able to activate it when I received it. Fine,I said I already have a card that's only 4 months old that works fine. That happened at the beginning of the month. 7 months later and I still haven't seen a chip card from them. Now let me Warn you about the No fee policy. There are fees. There is an account closure fee. That's right they charge you because you don't like them basically. I've gone back to a brick and mortar bank. I've never been charged an account closure fee from one. And there are ones that have no fee accounts. So DO NOT use Netspend. For a few years there were no problems. But in the last year they have seriously declined. *** was always bad, but got worse in the last year. So stay away from it. I was forced to give 1 star, it wouldn't let me give a negative 5 star.

When I use money off my card for almost all my products I'm being triple charged and money continues to just disappear off my account always for different amounts from 2 to 10 dollars for example I bought a *** dollar soda and was charged *** apparently money is being stolen from my account every single day I finally caught it but there's no telling how much was taken out before I found out. I'm accusing net spend of credit card theft I need to know how to file charges against the company

To whom it may concern, Netspend All-Access currently owes me $***.I am trying every outlet possible before seeking legal recourse and would be grateful for any help you all may be able to provide. Basically there was a person to person transfer (according to there phone representative) done in the middle of the night for the *** which they did not flag as suspicious despite me never having done a transfer in my life, and then the person did THREE more transfers in a row for 150, 150, and 150. Finally stopping when the account was cleared out. After looking at my account myself it SEEMS like someone hacked my online banking, and then proceeded to wire themselves money, they had taken off my phone alerts and removed my email and phone as ways of contact. I contacted Netspend because it was obviously fraud and I never approved or did anything like that. They returned the 150$ charges that were done at the SAME TIME. But refuse to return the ***$ this is beyond illegal and shallow for a financial company to do. I have corresponded with them for over a month at this point with them refusing to refund the fraud they allowed and closing the claim. The Dispute Number or Claim ID is : *** I will attach some of the evidence I have gathered through this experience anything else you all may need feel free to reach out. This is money I need for my mortgage I could very possibly lose my home should Netspend get away with not returning such a large amount of money. Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

My name is *** and I am a NetSpend customer since *** complaint is about a direct deposit I received on 04/25/2023 in the amount of $1000 to my NetSpend account but *** has refused crediting this payment to my account. My sister *** sent me $1000 from her *** account to my *** bank but she made a mistake in filling her name in place of my name as beneficiary. In the place of beneficiary, she used her name, instead of my name and sent the money and maybe because of this, NetSpend has refused making my funds available even when it has been received successfully.Because of this, I am complaining to make sure NetSpend makes my funds available to me

NetSpend Re:Account Number: ********** Claim Date: [protected]:57 CST Claim Number: ******* Claim Amount: 0 To Whom It May

Re:Account Number: *** Claim Date: [protected]:57 CST Claim Number: *** Claim Amount: 0 To Whom It May Concern, This letter was just sent to PayPal and will be sent shortly to all the names listed below. Here is some VERY important information that you should take very seriously - I will be sending this same information to the folks at Netspend as well. Once I do that, I will be taking all the information surrounding the freezing of my PayPal Prepaid Mastercard Account and the other accounts affiliated with the account to : 1. Social Security Administration 2.The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau 3. National Consumer Law Center, Washington DC 4. Legal Aid Society of Wisconsin 5. Better Business Bureau 6. State of Wisconsin Office of Attorney General 7. The Department of Financial Institutions - Division of Banking Why? Because the PayPal Prepaid Mastercard Account olds my Social Security Income and my Social Security Income is EXEMPT ACCORDING TO FEDERAL LAW FROM BEING WITHHELD, GARNISHED, LEVIED under ANY circumstances by ANYONE with the exception of the Federal Government and Child Support. Second to that is Netspend nor PayPal followed ANY of the procedures stated by law necessary before simply locking me out of any source of income whatsoever. Thirdly, Netspend's reason for doing this is nothing more than a continuation of unethical, unprofessional and unprincipled business practices. By illegally authorizing a rental car company to force post $1148.11 on to a prepaid debit card containing a $500.00 balance in January. A transaction I knew NOTHING about until yesterday and a transaction I never approved nor authorized. Netspend, a company becoming fastly known as disreputable, never once notified me of a 300% overdraft on a $500.00 prepaid debit card intended for one use. NEVER! Instead they have snuck around the last several weeks slowly cutting access off to all of my PayPal accounts, my Apple Wallet and as of yesterday, I find my MAIN account, my Paypal Prepaid Mastercard Account LOCKED. This account receives my Social Security Deposit EVERY SINGLE MONTH! As a result of this stunt, I have NO money, my rent check bounced today, I've two bills that have already bounced with a slew more lining up. This will damage my credit. Currently I don't even have a dime to go buy milk, if milk cost a dime. I am in need of food for my service animals, medications for myself and the right to continue living like anyone else in this world does. Why? Why would ANYONE approve a 300% overdraft on a prepaid debit card that has been registered less than an hour. WHY? WHY would anyone approve a prepaid overdraft of that magnitude in the first place ANYWAY? WHY, WHY did Netspend not contact me immediately after the transaction occurred? WHY? Why did/does Netspend think I'm the one who is supposed to pony up to someone's authorization of such and egregious amount, not to mention action. WHY, WHY did Netspend not see red flags and fireworks or when they DID see the red flag and fireworks, protect me - ME their customer? WHY, WHY am I being chased for a transaction I did not know about much less authorize? WHY? Does the Prepaid Debit Card not have Visa's Zero Liability Coverage? If it does, WHY is Netspend trying to get money out of me? WHY didn't Netspend reverse a charge of that magnitude IMMEDIATELY? WHY? More importantly, WHY was it let through to begin with? WHY, WHY didn't PayPal due their DUE diligence by seeing the fact my account was/is exempt from this unprofessional activity by virtue of the fact it contains GOVERNMENT BENEFITS! WHY? Doesn't anybody do their jobs anymore? WHY, WHY did neither company comply with the laws surrounding the freezing of someone's bank accounts? WHY? They had/have a legal obligation AFTER receiving a notice of garnishment (which never existed) or notice of Judgement from a court ( which never existed) to provide me with the results of it's review! The law clearly states that my accounts can not be frozen without a court order. PERIOD. May I remind you here that I DID NOT HAVE A SINGLE CLUE ANYTHING HAD OCCURRED - NOT A SINGLE CLUE SOME FOOL MANAGED TO OBTAIN $1148.11 off a $500.00 Prepaid Debit Card. Moreover, it was also PayPal's job aside from informing me of some sort of court order, but the date the order was received, a brief explanation of the garnishment, an explanation of PayPal's responsibility to protect my federal benefit payments that are direct deposited during the look back period and keep them accessible to ME. (Yes, PAYPAL and NETSPEND need to learn a lot here!). PayPal and Netspend , particularly PayPal was supposed to protect my account. PayPal DID NOT. I have been locked out of this account along with my PayPal accounts for some time it would appear. As far back as 1/22/20 when I woke up to a strange email message that someone has cancelled their billing agreement with eBay. It was odd and I had begun having trouble logging in to that account around the same time. Then within the last 10 days I get another strange email telling me my Prepaid MasterCard for THIS account was no good and couldn't be used in Apple Pay. NOW I am growing concerned over these odd occurrences. Jump forward to this weekend and everything becomes apparent starting with my intent to list auctions on eBay - The email address I had formerly used at PayPal to get paid wasn't any good. Then I see a hold on my Mary Martin Art and Photography PayPal account, followed by coming to this (my PayPal Prepaid Mastercard account) after 4 attempts to make an online purchase Friday night was declined with a 1330.00 balance in the account. My anxiety over this series of events started mounting. It wasn't until I spoke with PayPal yesterday, that the entirety of Netspend's deceptive practices came to fruition. Out of know where I am told I owe Netspend 700+ dollars from another account! I don't HAVE a Netspend Account. I ask myself how is this possible, I used a 500.00 PREPAID card. According to Netspend's website, and disclosure notice: 1) your account is LIMITED to the funds you have loaded on the card. 2) You may not exceed the available amount in your Card Account through and individual transaction or a series of transactions - unless WE DECIDE (meaning you- NETSPEND) in our sole discretion, to approve such transaction(s) and that is only true if you have qualified for "Purchase Cushion Coverage". 3) If you do not have enough funds in your account you can instruct a merchant to conduct a split transaction. If you fail to inform the Merchant that you want to do this, your card is likely to be declined. 4) In bold letters No OVERDRAFT/Credit Feature. 5) If you meet our eligibility requirements, we may authorize negative balances resulting from PIN-based and signature based transaction initiated through our third party bill pay service providers... you may receive only one 10.00 negative balance allowance at a time. Negative balances are approved at our discretion on a per transaction basis. We approve...on our authority...if we decide, if we authorize... That's prevalent throughout your paperwork. No Credit. No Overdrafts, Spend only what's on the card followed by any and everything happens with your approval or authorization which leaves me to ask, WHO THE *** THEN, AUTHORIZED AN $1184.11 CHARGE AGAINST A $500.00 PREPAID LESS THAN AN HOUR OLD DEBIT CARD? then did NOTHING to protect much less notify AT ANY POINT along the way, me, your customer. Why is a prepaid debit called a PREPAID Debit card if ANY amount can be taken off it while screwing the individual who owned it. WHY? What is the point of the damn card? I intended for the card to be used ONE time and one time only. The merchant was having trouble getting her computer to accept the forms of payment and finally after much struggling said she got it through but did not get any authorization. She handed me back the card, told me the number of the debit card was on file in the system. She furthered her statement by saying she had zeroed out the contract so the car could be re-rented however she would get in trouble for doing so but she had to clear the car for rental and things would need to be continued. She KNEW the card had a 500.00 maximum limit. Unintending any further usage of the card, I had no reason to check it. I cut it up, disposed of it and did not activate the printed version of the card that came to my home. What concerns me all the more is Netspend blocked another card I purchased within 24 hours of my purchasing it insisting on more intensive proof I was who I said I was. It took me weeks of fighting to get my money back, and not without incurring financial problems, unpaid rent, forced to travel with no money, exacerbated health issues and countless hours of no sleep while doing just what I am doing now - fighting to not get ripped off ONCE again. Netspend, the company who put me through identity *** just a mere 6 weeks ago authorized someone to come in an overdraft another card by 700 + dollars, doing nothing about it, other than 6 weeks later illegally intercepting my Social Security Disability Income bank account, cut off any and all access I had to get any money by blocking all my paypal accounts followed by now attempting to extort the overdrafted amount THEY caused, out my my own funds. How disgraceful is it for a corporation to have 1958 complaints registered with the Better Business Bureau over the last 3 years. How disgraceful is it for a corporation to be plastered all over the web as the only company to take great steps to fight the placement of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's PrePaid Debit Card Law (April 2017) designed to protect consumers from any hidden terms or overdraft fees on prepaid cards. How disgraceful are you to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to solicit political favors from the Republican party so in term you could use them as a way of getting rid of it. Some would call that a quid-pro-quo wouldn't they. Bottom line, Netspend NOR PayPal should have EVER Frozen/locked ANY of my accounts. And the process by which they chose to do so clearly violates my rights and the law. My Social Security is protected by the Federal Government! therefore, PayPal/Netspend has until 12:00 p.m. today, March 2nd to restore complete and full access to my accounts - ALL my accounts, including access to my money or all hell is going to break loose because I will go to any and every source I can, any source I think may have a hand in restoring access to my GOVERNMENT PROTECTED ACCOUNTS followed by any source that will take action to stop this unprincipled behavior against any other individuals and any source that will advise and assist me in the filing of charges against Netspend and any other parties deemed involved for damages I have sustained from Netspend's unprofessional, shady and self servicing practices since January of 2020. You should be advised that this letter will be distributed to all parties listed above, not just PayPal and Netspend and will be done almost immediately after I sign it. Very truly yours, *** After 2:00 p.m.

I tried opening an account and no customer service reps the numbers provided have no help with issues. No response. I believe it's a scam I want my account closed from Them I have an issue with the new card and they sent another one after it said close account it won't close account. It feels like a scam not fixing the issue. Automated system has no help for issues. Both of these are same system no help.

I filled a dispute on a few transactions that was not authorized totaling about $1,400. The company refuses to give me the money back and to do a proper investigation and resolve the issue correctly, the company made my account -$400 after issuing a partial provisional credit and deciding it was not fraudulent.

I have had this account for 3 years. I have my payroll deposited into this account. Two weeks ago someone stole(transferred) almost $1300.00 in less than two hours from my Netspend account to two different cash app accounts three times ( they used one name twice) using an old card number that was associated with my account that shouldve no longer still been activated. I had not used that card once I activated the new card. After waiting 14 days for an investigation Netspend is not trying to give me my money back, although there was fraud on my account that they allowed to happen. Whom ever used over 30 small transactions of $1.00- $50.00 to steal my money. I logged into my account on the same day to see the charges still pending and asked Netspend to stop the charges from going though because I did not authorize them and they said they had to. Dont understand that. I want my paycheck back.

I have *** of *** for my brother, ***. My brother is currently in the intensive care unit at *** Hospital in ***. He in a coma as the result of complications from brain and lung cancer. As his PoA, I have had ***' mail forwarded to my home. Earlier this week I received a NetSpend Master Card in my brothers name with instructions on how to activate the card. I contacted NetSpend to ask that the card be cancelled and explained to the operator that we have had some unusual activities surrounding my brother's credit and suspect there may be some identity theft involved. NetSpend requested a copy of my PoA documents which I forwarded via email. In response, NetSpend requested the original PoA document be mailed to them in hard copy. I explained that I cannot send them an original because I only have one copy of the original, but I offered to mail a hard paper copy to NetSpend. To do so, I asked that they forward a "street address" to mail the documents because I prefer to mail such sensitive documents via *** with the ability to track the envelope and receive a signature upon arrival at NetSpend. Unfortunately, this arrangement is unacceptable to NetSpend. As each day passes, I grow increasingly concerned that someone has re-routed my brother's social security deposit to some NetSpend account out there and will be spending his monthly allowance which is essential to his immediate care. I explained to NetSpend in one of my emails and to a Service Rep on the phone that *** is indigent, with no savings account, no retirement, no pension, or other financial resources to cover his living or medical expenses. Thus, it is imperative that I protect his social security from any suspicious activity. Any assistance you may be able to provide to ensure ***' NetSpend account is closed and frozen, never to be opened again, would be greatly appreciated. I have attached my email string with NetSpend and my PoA.
