Signtronix Scam! Won't give our deposit back!

We are a garden center located in Jacksonville, FL. We wanted to put up a LED sign in front of our nursery and Gary Hoelein was our sales representitive. We met with him and gave him some plans of what we wanted done and we gave him a check for $1204.00. He said it was just a deposit, but that he wouldn't cash it until our plans were finalized. He sent us back the plans completly different than what we discussed and the price was way different. He also cashed the check two days later.

We don't want anything to do with them anymore, we just want our deposit back for the sign we never got or never got right. We've been trying to get it back for three months now. The Corporate Office won't do anything and their local office number has been disconnected.

I was recruited to be a salesman for Signtronix. The sales presentation is a complete misrepresentation/lie. The Mainstreet America program is just a marketing gimmick and the salesman IS NOT AUTORIZED TO PICK UP A LARGE PORTION OF THE PRICE. Come on, its a molded plastic sign and does not render all other signs obsolete. I'm a retired electrical engineer and there's nothing special but the relief mold, and I'm sure that's not unique either. These guys practice this sales pitch until they have it down word for word. The leasing agency has some very questionable practices as well. While they do have customers that are happy with the sign they purchased, the deal is not that good, the sales pitch is predicated on a total lie, and you have to watch out for the 3yr lease with the leasing company. If you don't pay the final balloon payment at the end of the lease/purchase, the lease is automatically renewed for another 3 yrs. The notice seems to be purposely disguised as a piece of junk main and it is missed by most people. Also, any down payment or deposit is quickly cashed at your bank by the salesperson. That is their commission. In addition they require access to your bank account to automatically collect payments. And unlike most other companies the deal does not include installation. You're on your own for that. Shop wise and never let a cold call salesman sell you on the first visit...always research.

This happened to me! My town wouldn't let me put the sign in without jumping through tons of monetary hoops, and the salesman said "This is the deposit, if there's ANY problems, I'll refund your money". Well, there were problems, and I haven't seen a dime back. He also stopped returning my calls. This is the shadiest business I have ever dealt with.

When you Sign the contract. The salesman knows, that you're not going to get, the sign that you agreed on. It, s a scam!!! When you try to go after this Co. you'll have to go to calif. Hire an attorney there, and go to Calif. court It's nothing but a scam. If a salesman shoes up at your door, Call the LAW ... If he tries to leave get his lic.number off hi...

Signtronix Fraud and cheating

Chuey said he was from signtronix stopped by my place of business and made a sales pitch for an outdoor sign for my business.

After going thru all this we ask for him to please leave a business card and the quote because I was very interested but had to discuss it with my partner and get with him later that day or the next and he got angry took everything and left.

I called the company off the internet and was told that they have 250 reps nationwide and cannot keep up with them. I was also told that their sales reps did not carry business cards and if you did not sign then contract then and make a deposit on the sign then you don't get a second chance.

They also said they are to go directly to the bank and cash your check and the contract is binding and you cannot get out of it.

This doesn't sound like a reputable business practice.

The rep that came by here was driving a chev truck with Montana plates.

I have one of the above mentioned signs. I've since moved my business to an area where it is against planing and zoning to use LED signs. I would like to end the lease and return the sign.
Has anyone found a way to reasonably buy out thier lease and get rid of thier sign?

Signtronix Lease agreement / buyout

I leased a sign from Signtronix through Northern Leasing. The lease was for 24 months. The lease was signed December 5, 2005. Monthly payments were taken from my checking account for the 2 years. After the lease terminated, January 15, 2008, Northern Leasing took another monthly payment in the amount of $169.84. The buy-out amount for the sign was $243.55. The Asset Management group called me today (March 28, 2008) say I was delinquent on my payment - I put a stop payment order with the bank not to allow any further withdrawals. I am willing to pay the balance of the buy-out amount $73.71, but got so upset with them, I hung up phone and thought to check on their business practices! Alas, It's not just ME.

Luckily I have read all this BEFORE my contract came to full term. They hide four additional pages that they claim was part of the original contract they say if you don't notify them 30 days before the end of the lease and "request a buyout" that the "lease" automatically renews and they just keep charging you, even though you just paid in full! It is a scam, and thanks to all you wonderful people posting information out there, I am now aware of these new pages before they tried this crap on me. The fact they do not provide these hidden pages, or reference them is FRAUD and you have a good case. WorldLawDirect has a claim going and you might be able to join in. Also, report to the better business bureau and your state attorney general.
