Shaver Auto Center Fraud and cheating

In October of 2008, my husband and I, traded in a Jeep Wrangler that we had purchased from Shaver Auto Center located in San Bernardino, CA, to a Toyota dealer in the city which we currently reside, Placerville, CA. Because we had only had the Jeep for a year, the finance person we dealt with, was kind enough to inform us that we had a pro-rated rebate coming to us from our Gap Ins and Extended Warranty plan that we had purchased from Shaver Auto Center. (We had actually paid the Jeep off less than 4 months after we purchased it.

I had to make several calls to Shaver in order to receive the required paperwork needed for aforementioned rebate. They kept insisting that we had to come to their office and sign the paperwork, even though I insisted that it was no longer a 20 minute drive down the freeway from our old address! We finally received both forms at the end of Nov, and sent each to their respective companies, one in San Diego, and one in Texas.

In February 2009, I called the co in San Diego to inquire about our rebate. I was told that a check was sent to Shaver in Dec 2008, they had cashed it, and unfortunately was no longer in business. Assuming the same thing must have happened with co in Texas, as we have not gotten that check either, do we have any recourse? After all, it was OUR money. The phone# listed on their website connects to a dealer in Ontario, who pretends to not have a clue as to the San Bernardino site.

We bought a brand new 2007 Jeep Patriot and paid cash. They promised on a contract that for a full year we would get oil changes and a touch up paint job. Well the owners went out of business leaving us with no oil changes and no paint job. This is criminal because they charged us for this. They ripped us off and I would like to know who this owner is because I deserve my money back for the guarantee that I paid.
