It seems to me that this company has gone from being really good to less than mediocre. Good doctors are let go and they are replacing them with MDs mostly having gone to foreign schools and PAs are doing most of the work. I don't deny that PAs can be as good as some doctors but they are not trained to spot serious issues. For myself I tell you that in a...

Senior Dimensions Terrible company

I am just a humble housewife and my husband has been admitted at St Rose Siena for almost a month now because of painful obstructive jaundice. Work-up in this hospital revealed a common bile duct mass likely consistent with Cholangiocarcinoma (klatskin tumor). Several doctors/surgeons, including his doctor at the hospital agreed and stated in writing that this very complicated, difficult and risky surgery could only be done in UCLA Medical Hospital because no doctor here in the valley can perform such intervention, having no right equipment and certainly no experienced staff to do it.

UCLA has already accepted him on two occasions these past week. The first, Senior Dimensions is referring to send him to UCLA with Point of Service for Senior Dimensions, that at which time, UCLA cannot accept him because Senior Dimensions will only pay 80% up to $10, 000. At this time, we are asking to discontinue his HMO service from Senior Dimensions and was asking for Medicare back.

But he cannot apply for his Medicare back until November and then it will take until January of next year to be able to receive his benefits and by then it will be too late. This is matter of my husband's LIFE AND DEATH and we've already wasted almost a month waiting for Senior Dimensions to either provide his coverage and send him to UCLA which they were referring to do or expedite the paper work that my husband can reinstate with Medicare which UCLA will accept. We need your support on this to be able to reach people from the higher-ups in this life threatening situation of my husband.

He needed this surgery soon or it will be too late because his health is already deteriorating. I'm begging and pleading for help.

I have been a member of Senior Dimensions for over fifteen years and have no complaints. I have had multiple health related problems and serious surgeries, during that time and, except for some relatively minor complaints, which were taken care of, in a timely manner, I believe that I have had excellent care. The doctors have been great and I have had no problems getting into rehabilitation facilities, or their cardio rehabilitation program, at St. Rose, San Marten, which is very good. I'm not sure where these complaints are coming from, but I hope that Senior Dimensions/United HealthCare, is addressing them. If not, I suggest that those patients, experiencing these problems, contact the State of Nevada HealthCare Ombudsman, and/or Medicare, directly. Something doesn't sound quite right, so, if these problems are occurring, they need to be addressed, immediately and, with compassion.

We are dealing with Senior Dimensions now, what a headache. Come to find out everything needs approval from primary doctor. Every little thing. Oh, my gosh! He has bladder cancer and needs approval to see a oncologist. He is 87 years old weak, and they want him to travel 50 miles one way to see one. There is NO one in Pahrump? Really? Those that need it here not 50 miles away one way. Senior Dimensions get your act together there are a lot of older people here and you treat them like crap. Can anyone do better than this? We need help the long drive is very taxing on him, and no one get it or understands this on Senior Dimensions.

A woman in Pahrump died because of the low life wanna be mirit avrams. Over prescribing drugs that all do the same or similar thing, not following federal guidelines for prescription drugs etc. The very fat and unclean dr? so its time to choose a plan, choose anyone but avrams and senior dimensions, terribly stupid and dangerous mail order doctors.

A truly horrendous company..Owned by United Health Care whose only motive is the 'bottom line', everything about Senior Dimensions is terrible:
The doctors are drawn from the very dregs of the medical pool.
The staffs are overworked and very rude.
Southwest Medical Associates is a total zoo, To get an appointment with any specialist employed at that facility you're going to wait 3-5 months !
When you phone SMA your hold time can be 40 minutes.
Senior Dimensions is atrocious in every conceivable way related to senior care, or lack thereof.
Do not join this awful plan..You've been warned !

My wife has an HMO with health plan of Nevada, being part of the same insurance company. She had to have surgery at UCLA because they did not have a doctor here that could give her proper medical needs. We went to UCLA and could not be happier, she had two cancer cell removed from her neck and is now clear of any cancer. Our out of pocket cost has been only 50.00. We both have been with HPN for over eight years and could not be any happier

SENIOR KILLER! ALL ABOUT MONEY!

I have the similar HORRIBLE experience with Senior Dimensions.

My husband had a stroke recently and his whole left side is very weak. After being stabilized, all his doctors including physical therapists agreed to send him to an acute rehab, because from their professional perspective, they believe that my husband is a very good candidate for it. However, unfortunately, it was DENIED by Senior Dimensions. SENIOR DIMENSIONS ACTUALLY DENIED A HUMAN BEING ‘S BETTER CHANCE TO WALK FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE.

It is okay for its members to pay premium over years; but NOT okay for them to offer the best treatment to its members; because they’ll lose MONEY.

UNETHICAL! INHUMANE!

There is no "paperwork" that this company can fill out to get you back to original medicare until there is a valid enrollment period. You signed a contract with this company to have them as your sole provider for medicare services for the year. Because they are now not covering something is not a valid reason to then change to another provider. I tell people every day that these advatage plans can be good for specific situations but ve sure of what insurance you are getting before you switch to them.

I don't mean to sound like this is hopeless, but you MUST WORK WITH THE PLAN YOU HAVE. They are your insurance carrier. The only valid reasons you could get to change to another plan (or back to original medicare) are few. If you move out of the plan's coverage area, if you receive extra help for low income, or if you were specifically mislead when you signed up for this plan.
