Hello Everybody,
Hope your all doing well. Our Winner has contacted us!
Teresa Howell of Eaton, Colorado is our Limited Entry winner.
She is waiting on a Yorkie puppy. Congratulations Teresa!

For everyone that purchased a toy, I will be sending those out next week.
Thanks so much for trying to win. It was a lot more work with the extra emails and questions but hopefully it was more exciting for everyone.

So he had yorkys on his sight. I asked for one. He responded quickly. He said the puppy was not his. That he sold for other people and it had to be one of his. He told me he should have some in Dec.
Dec. 2014 he showed new yorkie puppies. So i tried to contact him by phone and text him. No response.
A week or two i get a text from him asking did i still want a puppy. Of coase i did . He began telling me prices. I let him know i had won. Oh he said sorry to get your hopes up. They were not his. He once again said in Jan. or Feb. he should have some ( i never once ask him to gve me a date when he would have puppies. He just told me).

Feb or Jan. i cant remember he omce again posted yorkies. Because he said he would have some i waited for him to contact me. He did not so i texted him. No response.
However a while later i once again get do you want a puppy text. Again i got the same story. This time he would have them in April. By now im beginning to wonder whats going on. Hes a breeder he should know when his females would come around. He states you have a year to pick.
April came and more yorkies posted on his sight but no contact from scott. I waited and waited tried to call left message . I texted him no response. And as per usual i get a text a while later and got the same story . This time the puppies died. Each time he said he would have puppies he would post them. What i find interesting someone bought one from him in May. Who also got the ignore treatment.
By late July he texted again same story by now im getting to wonder if im gonna get a puppy so i asked him if i was gonna get a puppy. He responded if he didnt go bankrupt. I said does that mean im not getting a puppy. (Someone had offered me a, little boy local. So didnt want to miss out). Well he didnt answer back. By now im ticked. I told him he was ruining his witness by doing business like this. Not responding to calls or texts. He shot back what a bad person i was and i should pray for him his wife was leaving him. I told him i was sorry and would pray for him. But he should keep in touch with people. Two othere people won free puppies after me. I said if you cant fill your orders why have more contests. He said he could take me off his list or wait a couple of months for a puppy. Well its Dec of 2014 and no puppy. I asked him to please honor his word. He claims he will take care of this by this year. Do i believe it no and im afraid what shape the puppy will be in. He also asked me to not contact him. He asked for my address and phone number. He wants to make sue i even won. I sent him his own post.
Now to be fair i dont think he was always like this. To give puppies away is a very kind thing to offer. Perhaps his family crisis has effected his business practice. But just stop doing free puppies during this time. Getting peoples hopes up for nothing. Then acting like hes the victim if we dare question whats going on. Dont know why i was the one he did this to.
Dont enter its not worth the hassle. I will come back if he every honors his word.

puppies False Advertising, Misleading The Public

This so called pet boutique is advertising that they use reputable breeders and it is my opinion that they are obtaining their pups from puppy mills. They cannot show any proof of these so calles breeders for their mixed breeds

They're not claiming to be selling pure bred dogs. They in fact advertise that they are blends and mixes. I visited this place. The dogs are healthy, and they are certainly not overpriced like most of the pure-breds raised by the "elite" breeders. The added bonus is that with a mixed breed you don't get a dog who is mentally defficient from too much selective breeding.
The demand for these "designer" dogs is there, they are filling it. Get over yourself.

Totally agreed with Melissa. Puppy mills should be run out of business and most reputable breeders breed purebred dogs, not mixed dogs.

Never buy a dog from a pet store; most come from puppy mills.

Mixed breeds? Um, I always thought that breeders bred Pure breeds, not mixed? Anyone could get a mixed breed! When it comes to puppy mills, you never know whether the dog you get is a pure or mixed breed. As far as I know most Professional Breeders aren't breeding 2 different breeds unless they're trying to rip people off by saying that they are in fact pure breeds, since it can be hard to tell when the dogs are little. Either way if you find out that they are in fact coming from a puppy mill, do a good deed and report them to the local Animal Control. All puppy mills should be put out of business.

puppies Bad breeders

I am writing to find out what legal rights or recourse I have against the two breeders:
Kim of: Avanti Pomeranians
Laura of: 3 C Kennels
The following is a summary of the events leading up to the situation we find ourselves in today.
The puppies I purchased were not up to date with their immunizations and had tape worms
I bought two male pomapoo pups from puppyfind.com. "Chubs" (now named Dash") who Kim from South Carolina had listed and "Gizmo" who Laura from South Carolina. Laura bred her female poodle with one of Kim’s male Pomeranians.
Dash was given to Kim from Laura about a week before I purchase the two pups. I was told this was Kim's payment from Laura for using her female pomeranian to breed. I was assured by Kim that both dogs were checked by a veterinarian, up to date with there shots, and had no leg problems which small dogs are known to have. I also asked about heart problems and was assured neither breeder’s dogs had any heart problems.
During one conversation with Kim, she mentioned a problem with one of her female pups keeping her head up so it couldn't be sold. Where Laura has three small children Kim figured the pup may have been hurt by a child. This should have sent me running! Also, Kim was really insistent for me to take the pups to my vet the day after I received them for shots. I didn't think much of this; I thought she was being a caring breeder.
Since Kim was a friend of Laura, Kim had me pay her all the $800 for the two pups. Kim had the pups vet checked on 11/4/08 and shipped them via Continental Airlines on 11/7/08. My husband, Roland, and I drove to Providence, RI airport and picked them up.When we took them out of there crate to check them inside the airport they looked like two happy puppies . We put them back in their crate and on the walk to our car we let them out to do their business. That is when we noticed that Gizmo rubbed his butt after urinating. Back in the crate they went and into the car. When we got home we let them out to poop. We then saw that both pups had tape worms on their poop. The fir around their butt was also loaded with dried worms. I was furious and couldn't understand why this wasn't discovered by the breeder or the vet check prior to shipping. I took pictures to send to Kim. This is when the "never again" started.
I checked all the paperwork that was sent with the pups and the only evidence of a veterinarian check was right before they were shipped. The dog health charts that were sent with the puppies had stickers for there first puppy shots but no dates indicating when the shots were given. If the pups were given there shots at 8 weeks, one of the stickers expired 9/4/08 so the pups were given expired medicine.
I called our Veterinarian on 11/8/08 to get an appointment to treat the puppies for tapeworms and receive their next immunization. Our Vet couldn't immunize the puppies immediately but said we could get a treatment for the tape worms which we did at a cost of $5.25. I made an appointment for 11/19/08 for immunizations because there was no reliable date on the paperwork we received we believed the pups were apparently behind on their shots. This was also considered when I received them. The shots were $25 for 2 pups. I would have had to take them to the vet anyway so I didn't think it was right to include the cost of the vet visit.
Neither breeder takes responsibility
I contacted Kim again and asked her for $30 for the pills and shots required to update the pups. Because Kim didn't raise them and only had her pup for a week she said it was Laura Baxley's obligation to pay. So, I called Laura. Laura said because I actually bought the pups from Kim, Laura said this was not her responsibility. Frustrated by their unwillingness to act responsibly, I was left with no other choice but to write to the Better Business Bureau.
Breeder reneges on BBB settlement
In response to my BBB action, Kim agreed to refund all fees and take the pups back. So, the BBB closed the case. However, when I contacted Kim again she refused to pay anything! I called the BBB and the only they said the case was closed and the only way to get our $$'s was to take her to court. For us to travel to South Carolina from Massachusetts and sue for $30 was not a reasonable option. It wasn't the $30, it was the point that I was not told the truth and neither breeder, Laura nor Kim, was taking responsibilities for their improper care of the puppies
One puppy develops hip problem
In March, Dash started to limp on his right hindquarters. I brought Dash to our vet at the end of March and Dr. Caldwell believed it maybe a muscle pull. I was to treat him with a hot compress and baby aspirin. After a couple weeks Dash started to limp on the left side. Since both pups were due to get neutered on 5/8/09 , I asked our Vet. to re-diagnosed Dash’s hip problem at that time. After examination, Dr. Caldwell believed Dash had Perthes Disease but did not have X-ray facilities to confirm his diagnosis. On 5/15/09 I took Dash to another Vet, Dr. Gould, for X-rays and another opinion and he said one side looked deformed and the other looked like perthes disease. Dr. Gould prescribed Metacam and said I should see a specialist. This visit was $155. I called the specialist and it will cost another $115 to examine and give an estimate for corrective surgery (which I was told could cost $2,000 to $3,000 or more). I emailed both breeders on 5/14/09 and got no response.

I would have to say that I can understand the frustration of receiving a dog that is not in 100% health, but it sounds like you were lucky when it came to the pups only have tape worms and just not 100% on when the pups were given shots. I am sure it was an honest mistake to give a shot that was out of date, sometimes those things can be shoved in the back of the fridge and found a little too late :( It does not seem that it was worth a call to the BBB over $30 though, seems a bit excessive. I would have to side with the breeders on this one. It wasn't right that your pups came with tape worms, but they were easily treated and for not much money at all. Be thankful it had only been just that! Worms are something you would have had to continually given medicine for their entire life... shots too! Now, sounds like you purchased a pet (since they will be neutered). It stinks that the one has a hip problem, but that is sometimes what happens to dogs...or humans, etc. I know it is hard to come out of pocket for those types of expences, but it is the risk we taken when getting any animal...even from the humane society :( Hope they are doing well now and would love to hear an update. Sorry for the bad luck!

$800 for pomapoo puppies? You can't even register those dogs since they aren't even a real breed.

Honestly I wish people would stop it with these "designer" mutts (Lapradoodles, jugs and the like) and just go get a shelter dog for the price of a donation and spay/neuter fee. You will be getting a wonderful dog and helping the shelter take care of the others waiting to find a home.

Always buy a puppy in a state that has a puppy lemon law, Fl NY CA In Fl a breeder is responsible for any puppy problems 14 days after puppy purchase, health cert which is good for 30 days. breeder is responsible for genetic problems for 12 mo. If any problems occur
breeder is responsible for vet bill up to the price of the puppy. However buyer has to notify breeder in a timely manner you have 3 days to show vet receipts which most buyers do not
if pet dies you have to show vet report which buyers dont. the first part of the lemon law
protects the consumer, the last part protects the breeder which buyers dont read and most breeders are glad they dont. I tell this to buyers when they buy, its on my contract and buyers still dont read or understand the lawyer lingo in the statute I had to read it 4 times
puppies do have alot of problems, they are very sensitive to worms, virus/bacteria. most purebreed pups have been bred for 100s of years and they have problems early in life all dogs were mutts at one time Yorkies for example is made up of 5 breeds, Shih Tzu is 2 breeds
all breeds came from the wolf. Look up origins of breeds on the web. hope this helps.

I would suggest that you contact a lawyer and file a claim against Laura and her kennel for selling unhealthy puppies. Was there any kind of written guarantee on these pups? I would also contact the vet that did the exam before they were sold and inquire about the facts and findings on those exams and what treatments or recommendations were advised. Good Luck.

I received several calls over the last week. I asked for additional information and received no info except they live in Illinois. This is very disturbing and I think it needs to be investigated. I have contacted our local news station and suggest everyone else do the same. I will be watching the dog ads in the local papers and calling people to let them know of this scam.

I used to be one of the relay operators in question. NEVER EVER sell a puppy via INTERNET relay. You can go to sprintiprelay.com and call anyone you like whether you are deaf or not. IF the operator calls you from a state relay ie "Relay Texas operator number 1111..." then you're safe, as this person is actually deaf, and geniunely interested in a puppy. These calls are coming primarily from Nigeria, and the fact of the matter is, I'm not even allowed to talk about it. Let's just say, the puppies end up in horrific conditions.

I recieved the exact same phone call and email to a newspaper add placed for our remaining three pups. When I questioned or attempted to get more information on the buyer (we too are protective of our pups) no response, thus the search that turned this up. Glad this posting was here to confirm my fears.
