Provo Craft Cricut Explore

I purchased the Cricut Explore on May 14, 2015. For a newlywed couple, this was a big and exciting purchase for us. We bought the Cricut with a gift card we received as a wedding present and leftover birthday cash I had. Unfortunately, my joy was short-lived as it started having problems after 2 weeks. I immediately contacted Cricut on June 1st. The customer care agent told me to send a picture of my proof of purchase and a video of my Cricut cutting, so they could determine the problem. I sent this proof the same day I received his email. He kept saying he was not able to see the attachments despite me confirming with others that the attachments were visible. After several weeks, he said to send it using a Dropbox link (I sent him an email with the dropbox link on June 29th). I finally heard back from him on July 8th, but it was to let me know that I did not send a video of the machine cutting, and that was a blatant lie because the email did contain a video of the machine cutting. He called me a few days later saying that he was going to send me a new mat and housing needle. I received these around the end of July, but the Cricut started having the same issue again. I emailed him on August 12th telling him that the same thing was happening and I sent a new video of it cutting again. I emailed him every other day for a week asking if he got the videos, but received no response. The last email I sent him was on August 17th. He did not respond until August 25th stating that he was out of the office for medical reasons, and that if I still needed assistance, he would give me a call. On August 26th and 28th, I emailed him and asked if he could view the attachments I previously sent and what could be done to fix it. He did not respond until September 1st when he gave me a call and said his supervisor wanted to try something where she could share my screen and see what the problem could be. I told him my available time when she could call me (between 5 and 6pm any day of the week). I told him I would be out of town on September 3rd and he said he would take note of that, and she would probably be calling me that Friday, September 4th. I have not heard from anyone at Cricut since his phone call 24 days ago.

I'm sure you can imagine my frustration after patiently working with a customer care agent for 4 months and still having a worthless product. As for hi leave, I can understand being out for a medical reason, but in any business (ESPECIALLY customer service) if you are going to be out for more than a day, you set an out-of-office message and forward the customer along to another representative. I find it very troubling that he apparently spoke with his supervisor about my ongoing situation and they did not think to personally contact me apologizing for the trouble and ask how they could help.

At this point, I just want a full refund for the product, as I will no longer be making purchases from this company.

Provo Craft Bully company that took away my software

Provo Craft sued and settled out of court Make-the-Cut software and now I cannot use it on my Cricut. I bought the Cricut specifically to use a 3rd party software with it, plus buy Provo Craft cartridges. For the love of Pete, this company has no clue when it comes to keep their customers happy. They are sue happy and going after any and everyone who has an idea they want. Stay away from them and buy from other cutting machines companies. There are many with much better cutting machines.

Provo Craft is now suing a magazine called The Bug who does nothing but promote Cricut products. PC just seems to want to tick off all its customers.

Had a glich with my credit card. They didn't even try to contact me. Never sent me a letter. Just turned me over to collection agency. I have paid in full, but they keep calling. Printing press doesn't perform like they show on TV. Good Luck with this company!

Hey CEO... those guys above are Provo Craft customers! Did you know?
My CDS takes 206 minutes to open. Do you know why? Because it loads all Cricut cartridges to my PC. Mr. Engineer I don't need this, please! The last CDS update was on May, 2010. Can you believe it? The new software Cricut Craft Room is inconsistent and incompatible with CDS files (*.CUT). I'm talking about the same company... maybe the same engineer... of course to the same customers. They still believe in oligopoly! Do you know why the Cricut is called Titanic 3D? Write here your answer! In three days I'll check the winners.
For the 1st winner = One free Cricut Design Studio software
For the 2nd winner = Two free Cricut Design Studio software
For the 3rd winner = Three free Cricut Design Studio software

Thanks!
Arthur Fernandes

Before place any order you should search for complaints about the company. Provo Craft / Cricut is not an exception. Another thing to consider is what kind of company are you buying from. If this company "forces" you continue buying their products (cartridges, for example) they are not interested on you as a customer... just on your money! If you like freedom, stay away from Provo Craft / Cricut. There are others companies with a better product, better technology and much better Customer Support too! (Arthur Fernandes)

I completely agree. I have a bad taste in my mouth where ProvoCraft is concerned. They are greedy and don't care about their customers. Their rewards program is stupid. If you buy more than one of the same cartridge you can only get the rewards on one of them, no matter that you actually purchased all the others. Why even have rewards program? If my Expression breaks, I will definitely be looking for a different machine. No more Cricuts and those expensive cartridges!

I question the legal validity of the lawsuits. I think MTC and SCAL were both forced to settle out of court simply because they cannot financially compete with the big guys over at Provo Craft and Bank of America. Previous legal actions concerning printers and ink brands, for example, have set precedents that seem to support my opinion. A company may not have the legal right to force users to only use their product in narrowly defined ways.

Another thing, Provo Craft stole the whole cake cutter idea from a lady who was using various cutters in that manner, and never gave her a penny for her ideas or input. They are a sleazy company that has poor customer service and continues to put out new products that do not work as they are presented, even though previous product flaws have not been addressed. The Cricut Design Studio software of theirs is cumbersome and doesn't function correctly, the Gypsy has many design flaws and limitations, and I have not found one person who bought an Imagine machine that has not returned it because it does not work as presented. I have read of numerous cancelled orders and returns of the E2 as well. Yes, most other cutters out there by reputable companies are more money, but they will actually perform as stated, and will allow much more freedom of creativity to boot. And isn't that the point of buying a die cutting machine in the first place?!?

I agree! If I want to use my machine to cut designs not endorsed by the creator of the company, that is my business. That is like selling me an IPOD and only allowing me to listen to elevator music on it. There are other cutters on the market, whose creators are focused on providing features consumers want, with excellent customer service to boot! Don't settle for a cutter that can't grow with your crafting ability, do your research!
