Pella Sliding door Issue order 189WPK054

The agent did not order the correct door it should slide from right to the left looking from inside but instead it slides from left to right.

I verbally told him how I wanted the door and I explained to him that he needs to make sure he orders the correct door. I spend a fortune on these doors and I am very dissapointed regarding this I really need the door replaced.

If anything he should have some important checkpoints before ordering and make sure its all correct because he is the expert and he needs to have specific checkpoints before ordering.

Pella Warranty of Pella Doors & action of supplier to my request

There is a perceived delay in the repair of my pella door which was done under Order Number 711QMM050 back in May of 2017. Here is the chronology of events.

Sept 15/ 2023 I called Pella and talked to Katy for customer service. She advised me to get a virtual inspection which cost $99.00 instead of the more costly $300 for actual inspection. She got my credit card details and I was charged USD$1 for that. The inspection was done and I was advised that the metal part of the door had slid down and this was to be replaced under warranty and cost of labor would be repaired.

Sept 18/2023 I called Pella again to follow up on the virtual inspection since nobody had given me a call about it, though the $99 virtual inspection fee was charged. I talked to Stephanie Flores who told me the interior color of the part was no longer available and she had to ask her boss if the staining would be shouldered by Pella.

As of now, no advise. I paid almost $40,000 for the project back in 2017.

Desired outcome: FAcilitate the immediate replacement of the panel

Pella I just change my windows on Jul 15 2023 I am already having problems.

I paid a lot of money for my windows. But the salesmen recommended vinyl. Now I have problem i can't open the window because goes 104 degrees in the summer I can't open the windows. I regret i should check for other companies.

Now Subcontractor is coming to fix it thought I was dealing with the company. This is my advice do your homework. I have 4 more windows to change and a front door in my house. I am using other company i let you know

Pella Pella Entrance Door

We LOVED all of the Pella windows and doors we installed in the 1980's when we moved into our home. We replaced a rear entry door in 2011, or thereabouts, but it was never installed correctly...quite shocking compared to our experience with the originally-installed windows and doors. Pella (Gunton) returned several times to try to get the fit and seal properly repaired, but that wasn't (and hasn't) been done properly or satisfactorily.

We were charged for the last repair visit, but after spending upwards of $400, there was no noticeable change and the problem of the outer cladding catching on the bottom of the frame continues and is getting worse. Pella/Gunton wants to charge us for the labor to come out and get the problem fixed AGAIN.

Probably going to have to replace the door, but it won't be with a Pella.

Desired outcome: Come fix the door correctly once and for all. And stand behind your product and workmanship.

Pella 13 ft bay window

We ordered a 13 ft window from Pella, a high-end window with the blinds inside.

The installation team came, did such a crappy job. We have siding missing from the other side of the house, interior not painted yet, when you slide the blinds up and down it screams the paint, the cranks are hard to open.

Interior of the bay wind was supposed to be painted black as well, still waiting. Been over a month

The worst part is nobody's willing to come out and fix it. It's been over a month and we've been trying to call and call. This was not a cheap window. Very disappointed and pillow services.

Pella Impervia windows were produced with stucco flanges

Hello,

We purchased 8 Windows via Lowes. We are remodeling of our primary residence on 6/13/23. (OPT-[protected]) I was required to pay for them entirely prior to installation.

The windows were delivered by Lowes 8/13/24. On 8/14/23, day of install, the installers advised that the Pella windows all had flanges for stucco and could not be installed. Removing the flanges would void our warranty. We are really disappointed that the windows were manufactured for a stucco home as we will most likely need to wait another 2 months or longer for arrival and installation. I think it would have been more palatable to put down a deposit for manufacturing/special order of the windows and pay the remainder upon installation.

Desired outcome: Discount my total order 33% for prepayment without product and installation.

Pella Pella sliding doors

Be careful when having them install any products in your home. We were not told that they would have to cut the line to our security alarm when we had an in home estimate done, it was only after the line was cut and the alarm was going off that anyone said anything about it. They left the wires hanging out of the casing of the door and told us that we needed to contact our alarm company. Alarm company stated that they could not do anything at this point, but if they were on site when the door was installed, they could have made sure we did not have an issue with our alarm. There is a fine print in the contract, but it is buried underneath blinds and window treatments. Representative for the company never mentioned our alarm system at all to us, and when calling company that is when we found out about the fine print. Not happy, we would have had our alarm company on site when installation happened if we had known. Seems like this should be a separate document and should be discussed at length with the home owner.

Desired outcome: I would like someone to issue an apology and to update their contract and give customers information on how to handle security systems.

Pella Pella screen replacement

Called Pella HQ, local branch office, and parts dept.and was informed that my screens have been discontinued and cannot be replaced. I find this unbelievable! My mother had windows that were over 80 years old and had no problem getting replacement screens (not Pella). Since Pella cannot repair or replace the screens, I want Pella to let me know where I can get these screens repaired or replaced. Do not tell me go to a hardware store, Shark Tank, or Mr. handyman. Pella Windows

August 29, 2022 I put a downpayment on replacing windows in my home. Installed around December 2022. Factory sent the wrong window for the living room. I have contacted several people to find out when they will have my window. Promise after promise and I still don't have my window. I paid for screens to be installed. They did not have them when they installed the windows. I had to contact them and finally they came out with the screens. I am very disappointed with the way I have been mislead about the service of Pella Windows. The last person I have been in contact with is Don Miller at 205.421.9237. Promised he would get me an update on Friday July 21st. Today is Monday July 24th and there has been no answer.

Pella Service for bow window

I have been dealing for months with Pella out of CT. With no satisfaction. I have a 5 windows bow window and only 2 of the open. My initial service call was for one of the windows not locking properly. I waited 1 month for service techs to come to my house. This window was installed in 2009. There is no warranty any longer, I was expecting to pay for them to fix it. All they told me was the window was sagging the cable needed to be tightened and they don’t do that work I needed to call a general contractor. I was shocked. I called the CT office again to confirm they wouldn’t fix it. They emailed me saying they do not touch frames. I wrote them back and asked for the schematic of my window as I needed to provide that to a GC. Just today they told me they didn’t have any! I have replaced almost all of my windows with Pella and never did I expect this attitude.

I would like to write a letter to

They’re CEO to make him aware that this is NOT customer focused. They just don’t care about former customers I’m on my own. Now without drawings a GC could cause more of an issue if he has to take apart this window on a 2nd floor. As it stands now I can’t not close the window all the way and I can’t open it either.

Desired outcome: Pella take responsibility for a window they installed and repair it. There is nothing else wrong it doesn’t need replacement just the cable tightened as they said

Pella Pella warranty work - reference event # [protected]

We have lived in our home for 5 years. We were told we had a "lifetime Warranty" on our Pella windows. We are now finding out this was a sales tactic only. We initiated warranty work for 2 problems we were experiencing: 1) One window with a hand smudge inside the window. We told the installers from day one and called Springfield Missouri Pella several times about it.

2) All of our beautiful windows on the east side of our house have had all the rubber window gaskets or seals turned brittle and are breaking off.

We had a Pella representative come and look at these issues several weeks ago and today we received a text message with NO detail stating they would come to do the repair on Tuesday and the charge would be $875. What is this for? We have a "lifetime Warranty". I have heard terrible things about Pella around your business practices, and finding out they were true. Please let us know what is going on. Not only are you charging us exorbitant fees ($875) for "lifetime" warranty work on Pella window defects, but your repair work done yesterday (5/30/23) was:

(1) Incomplete - the repair team didn't have the window with the smudge inside to replace the damaged window (damaged since day 1), but they do plan to return with the window. No expected date given yet.

(2) Poor Quality / Sash - the repair work on the deteriorated window sashes was not done properly (see pictures attached).

(3) Sloppy - tar was left on our deck that we tracked inside of our house before it was noticed (see pictures attached).

(4) Damaging - one of the window frames was damaged while putting in the sash (see picture attached).

So, what now? Not only have you proven that Pella windows are poor quality, but the warranty and repair work are at the bottom of anyone's standards.

Desired outcome: Repair your damages and the window that was smudged in the factory without the $875 charge.

This entire process has been very unprofessional. Please elevate this to your superiors and have them contact us.

Summary: (pictures attached)

1) 7 window sashes needed replaced because they were brittle and breaking apart

- 7 sashes were cut off by your team leaving pieces scattered on the deck, and tar-like spots smeared across the deck from being stepped on (not all the pieces of the sashes were picked up)

- 6 sashes not replaced

- 1 sash was attempted to be replaced and is puckered and not installed properly (see pictures)

- 1 window frame damaged from the removal of the sash

2) 1 window was installed with a smudge inside. This was noticed immediately and was called in, no one every returned our calls.

- We were told they would install this window later

We do not want this team back to further damage our home. We have no confidence in this Pella team or Pella at this point. Do not send this team again. Please confirm what you will be doing to replace the damaged window frame as well as complete the repair work properly. As senior citizens, we should not have needed to be on our hands and knees cleaning up the mess of your crew.

Pella replacement of breakfast room door

door was installed in my home on woodlawn avenue in chicago on friday 10/31/2023. the gentlemen arrived one hour early and left about 4 to 5 hours later. they were suppose to install the new door and reinstall the existing storm door. when i arrived home my storm door was on the cobblestone back yard placed near the yard fence. it was exposed. i have a 3 car garage. i have 5 rotts, big dogs. the new door was installed but the storm door was not put back. i have emailed them and called them starting friday at approximately 6 pm. i called the gentlemen that installed the door. i have received no response. i emailed and called Mr. tyler that was my sales rep. again no response. i am furious. pboatwright

Pella New window installation ( delay)

After signing a contract for having all our windows replaced in May 2022 the majority of our windows were replaced in October with the exception of 4 large palladium windows which were back ordered. I have sent multiple emails and was told by one person in January that the windows were in the warehouse. Another email response in February said that our account was being handled by a new project manager who asked us for details on our project which I provided. In March we received an email saying they were working on getting a schedule for installation. We’re disappointed in the lack of communication and we don’t understand why it’s taking so long to install the remaining four windows.

Pella Harassment!

Jan. 30, 2023 I had Pella give me a complimentary estimate. I replied via e-mail the next day that I did not have the funds, nor could I get the funds. Thank you for your time. I thought that was the end. In the course of the next two (three?) weeks I received numerous texts, phone calls, e-mails from Pella asking me to reconsider. The first text I received, I replied back "stop". Didn't matter. After my 5+ contacts from Pella after the initial consult, I called Pella to complain, and they supposedly took my name, phone number, and address off their list. Nope. Today, March 1, I received another call. I had to call back and have my name removed again. It is harassment when I have receive numerous texts/phone calls/messages/e-mail/or whatever. Each and every time, I say NO! No means no. No doesn't mean "maybe". You have a great product. But I CANNOT afford your product and NO means NO! STOP!

Desired outcome: Give me 8 windows for free. Full guarantee. I ordered windows from another company. Deposit has been made. Refund the deposit. Handwritten apology.

Pella New sliding doors

Do not buy from Pella Windows and Doors they have yet to properly install our doors. We ordered them last June! The doors arrived at the warehouse in October. The half assed installation is a joke. Started the end of November. Continued in December. They then demanded full payment without completion. They promised to be here January 31. They still haven’t come. They aren’t wind or waterproof! So we have a brand new home being ruined by pella.

Pella Window installation

Pella windows installed on July 11th, 2022, 2 double hung, triple pane windows are leaking due to the installation. I have contacted the local service representative [protected]@dunton.com about the issue, sent pictures and video of temperature readings around the window, and the sill the first installation person added, you can see that there are air leaks all around it and was wet. the second picture is a patch job the second installation person added trying to fix the air leaks. If Pella can not repair the installation, request a refund for the 2 windows.

Desired outcome: A refund for the 2 windows or correct the installation so that we do not have air leaks around the window.

Pella Pella vinyl windows

Purchased 4 Pella vinyl windows from Lowes in FL late 2020 did not receive for several weeks due to Covid (everyone loves to blame.Installation crew was considerate and did thew job adequately, we have a cinder block house and the old windows were, old. Thought new windows with impact resistance would be the right thing. So finally had a heavy rain and the water started backing up into the house! around the edges of the widow onto the drywall and under the flooring on all 4 windows! Frantic my wife and I are mopping up water off the sills all nite. Notice that water is building up in a trough below a plastic cover that should lead to the weep hole's, so stay with me, I take the small covers off the weep holes (in the rain) thinking they are not functioning properly, No help.

So a night lost, and we make the call to Pella service and they send out a tech fairly quickly (hooray) in the meantime my wife is able to suck out of the trough approx. 40oz of water! the tech arrives and I explain the plight of these none functioning windows and he pops the cover off the "troughs" and says the "weep holes are not drilled out" I'm floored as a mfg. eng. that is a product failure and should be recalled! Shouldn't one mold in the weep hole for proper functionality? or factory drill out the weep holes so not to penetrate below the trough and cause the water to accumulate below the widow on the sill?

Service had no help not covered under warranty now I have to pay to replace drywall and flooring? PELLA is a HORRID company, and have a HORRID product they do not back up! Again all 4 windows had this problem how many more are out there waiting for a good rain and cause mold and other damage to one's home. Time to go to the next forum I can find and reprint this sad accounting of a company.

Pella Pella doors

My husband and I bought a Pella storm door from Lowes Inn June 2022 the order came in July 2022 was installed Aug 2022. On Jan 13, 2023 I opened my inside front door when I did the glass completely shattered over my head and down my back. Went to Lowes, they would not do a thing. They said I had to call Pella so I did she said not covered under warranty I said it better be because it was not our fault the glass broke she said ok and emailed me to take to Lowes Waynesboro Va they ordered someone called said they would install it no charge keep in mind the bad glass had defective. We called Lowes they said we could come and pickup the glass and install it ourselves, my husband is 70 years old. Called Pella we don't have anyone the services there doors what a joke this place is the door doesn't have the glass in it well ii was coming in my house I opened the door it slams with no glass in it. I lost my balance fell on my porch which is cement hit the back of my head had to go to hospital minor concussion Pella does not will not back the trash at all. Do not buy Pella storm door no service at all is what they say do not buy nothing Pella it will not be covered under warranty
