We don't know much about how Mr. Appliance handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Mr. Appliance and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Mr. Appliance Gas range ge stove

TOTAL SCAM! DO NOT TRUST THEM! "RUN< RUN< RUN"

The scam begins with "not" being able to show a breakdown of the "ginormous costs" on a bill with "no itemization" of what a $444 charge was to entail? (2-Yr old GE Gas Range)

The tech doesn't even take a screw off...nothing but a phone scan & a diagnosis that would cost $444? (see screenshot of what he said was bad) Okay for what exactly I asked... he said "I don't make the prices and you gotta do what you gotta do" so I asked for a breakdown.

Here's the response he actually put on the "invoice" to charge me $120 just to show up regardless. (that's still wrong when this is such a racket)

Service tech’s words: “… he wanted a breakdown on parts and labor, I explained to him that I cannot do it…customer declined”

I called the company & David was just as useless as the Service tech. He threatened to send me to collections for the $120 & didn't care to hear "WHY" I was upset... Really, shouldn't be in business!

Would not recommend this company owned by some guy David "Mr Appliance of Deltona" 100 Alexandria Blvd, Suite 23. Oviedo, FL 32765

Desired outcome: This franchise owner would be removed from scamming people period.

Mr. Appliance Refrig

Had lights replaced six months ago and they are flickering. Had a repairman come to tell me that I need new lights and charge $100,00 for this information. It seems that this company is more interested in making money than giving a lasting and financial appropriate service. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. I found out there are a number of other services that give a suitable warranty and much lower service charge. I will be sending my feelings to the BBB.

Mr. Appliance Refrigerator

I don't know the exact date but I called them on December to repair my refrigerator which was bought in2019 and was under warranty for compressor for 5 yrs and they accepted. A sloppy technician came and wo examining the refrigerator said compressor is not working, cost,1250$ for a 650$ refrigerator however i agreed and the game began playing tricks w me to not to repair under warranty. For 1 month I was like a ball between them and whirpool. They wanted confirmation letter from whirpool which whirpool said they have never heard of that .they had model serial no data of purchase from bestbuy. Whirpool said they had to repair it and send them the bill .worst customer service. U can't find anyone in charge .for 1 months they were playing tricks w me and at last after one month of wasting time money ,nerve purchased a new refrigerator for 650$ from whirpool. Now they are bombarding me w emails for diagnosis fee and late fee .I'm the one who has to file a complaint against them .they lied .they deccived me .unfortunately I'm out of the states now .

Please don't give any job to them .their company is a scam and they just want the diagnosis fee and not to do anything. When I read other reviews and below 2 rate I understand I'm right.

Mr. Appliance Refrigerator

I certainly can not say these people are the worst, simply because I have not used all the others. I requested a service call on one of the properties I manage. They go out there and send me an invoice. I pay $429.00 the same day. That was in December 2022. I have called several times and get on story after the other, you know, the parts on order, etc. It is now January 27th and still nothing. I suggest you make this the last place you call for anything. I just checked with my tenant. His reply, "he keeps saying he will be back in a day or two, but doesn't show up."

Mr. Appliance Refrigerator repair

Run! Flat fee with no breakdown of part cost or labor. Thought that was odd. Then have to call them to see if part came in. Strange it had an tech was here in 10 minutes. Of course it was another issue after part was installed. Afterwards I realized I never actually saw a box or bag that new part came in nor did tech show me. Said something was in drain line and removed but now have Freon leaking and need totally new refrigerator. Trust your instincts and if it looks and feels like a scam IT IS! Never again and highly dissatisfied.

Mr. Appliance Did not replace a microwave door handle, as requested.

12-02-22, went online to the Mr. Appliance site to "Chat" with representative Pam" to inquire about the cost for a GE Microwave handle replacement. I provided the model # as well. I had checked the cost of the Handle as approx. $45 online. I could not find a manual to replace the broken handle. A Tech showed up and knew nothing about the reason for the service call and he quoted a charge of $370.45 to replace door E. Gaskets/hinges. I requested a door handle replacement, not a DOOR replacement. This model is selling NEW for $238.00 at Home Depot. SO, they have a "Diagnostic charge of $129.00 if you don't use their service. I figured the cost of the new door and labor would come out to approx. $129.00 and agreed. But, with this ridiculous quote, which no one would say yes to, I am not only out $129.00, but I STILL do not have my microwave door replaced. I certainly feel ripped off.

Desired outcome: Be a reputable company and get the replacement door handle and install it for the $129.00 you charged.

Mr. Appliance overcharge on services

We contacted Mr. Appliance, after only seeing positive reviews online, to come and fix our water/ice maker on our refrigerator, installing a new lever we ordered directly from the manufacturer for $156.

After our service person left, we noted that we could get ice, but the water dispenser was extremely slow in output. We called for the person to return and complete the job. The charge for the initial labor was just over $200. However, I was told that another visit would be treated as a new service call, even though the problem originated from the first visit. On this second call, the service tech told us the slow flow was due to the faulty water valve, and he would need to put in a new one. This 20-minute visit ended up costing an additional $398. When I asked for a breakdown of costs, such as service call rate, labor and cost of parts, he said he couldn't provide that information. After calling the company, I learned that the labor costs were again $193 plus tax (approximately $210) but neither the tech nor office staff could tell me how labor costs are determined. But double charging for something that should have been recognized and handled in one visit of 30 to 45 minutes at most should not entail cost over $400 in labor. I consider this second visit to be the result of an oversight on the first visit.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund of the labor costs for the second visit and an acknowledgement that all was not copacetic at the conclusion of the first service call.

Mr. Appliance Gas oven

I ended up having three (3) separate appointments with Mr. Appliance to fix my gas oven and wasted my money — miss diagnosed and NEVER fixed... VERY rude and unprofessional manager, but the technicians were friendly.

* 1st Appointment:

Outcome: Oven worked when he turned it on. He turned it off, then left. I went to use the oven a couple of hours later and it didn't work.

* 2nd Appointment

Outcome: Oven worked when he turned it on. He turned it off, then left. I went to use the oven a couple of hours later and it didn't work. I called to have them come fix what they did NOT fix the 1st AND 2nd time. They (Mr. Appliance) said that they would send out a "lead technician" for the 3rd visit.

* 3rd Appointment

Outcome: After the technician told me that the "igniter working but the switch assembly has a short not allowing the bake operation to work on demand." And "that the 1st technician should have caught the problem and that the 2nd technician should have ABSOLUTELY caught it." The 3rd technician (lead) also advised that I should "cut my losses and buy a new oven."

Mr. Appliance quoted me $100 for a diagnosis on the 1st appointment. I paid in good faith for work that should have been done correctly the first, second, and especially the third time. It was not. When I called Mr. Appliance, I was willing to pay for the igniter (part only which is $13 - 26) and the quoted diagnostic of $100, but the manager was unwilling to even listen to my reasoning and unbelievably rude and unprofessional. The technicians were very nice, but unfortunately it took three of them to figure out the problem.

Save yourself the money and hassle and find a more reliable business. There are PLENTY of them out there!

Desired outcome: Refund of $435 due to two misdiagnosis and oven not repaired.

Mr. Appliance OVERCHARGED for "Diagnostic Fees", OVERCHARGED for work done.

I called Mr. Appliance for service because I have used them in the past. BIG MISTAKE! This company has a new person working for them now and he wants to charge you for every little thing. Obviously, he's told to charge as much as possible regardless of the situation. And he has no solutions except to write you up a diagnostic fee so he can charge you $119. I was told when I called that there would be a diagnostic fee - but if work was done the fee would be waved. I had called them out to service our freestanding ice machine. It wasn't broken, we just thought it should be serviced because its been 2 years since our last service. The tech came out and looked at it briefly and then went downstairs and spent what felt like 30-40 minutes writing up his "quote". I also told him my ice maker in my refrigerator didn't work because my water line got contaminated. He told me in order to do the repair the water line to the frig would need to be turned off. He said within the first minute of our speaking that he couldn't do anything until I had a plumber come out to shut off the water SO I TOLD HIM NOT TO WORRY ABOUT THE REFRIGERATOR BECAUSE I AM NOT GOING TO CALL A PLUMBER ANYTIME SOON. He again sat there and kept writing away - even though I made it very clear not to worry about anything in regards to my refrigerator. I said, just focus on the quote for the servicing of my ice machine. Then after he sat there for god knows how long writing up his "quote" he told me I needed to give him a credit card for 2 invoices. One to service the ice machine for $383! and the other was a Diagnostic fee for $119 for my refrigerator. He literally did nothing in regards to my refrigerator - he just wrote up the quote so he could charge me $119. And I told him that I was NOT going to call a plumber so not to worry about it! I also called around and was told $400 is super expensive for a service/cleaning. Thats all that was done. The guy was here for 1.5 hours. He took my ice out, cleaned that area out with MY cleaners and that was it. You would think since they came to my house and work was done that they wouldn't try to overcharge me by also throwing in an additional $119 Diagnostic fee. I've never heard of that in my life! This company overcharges people and looks for ways to add unnecessary charges to the bill. I called today right after service at 9:30am to let them know I was VERY unhappy that I was charged a fee for basically the tech saying " I can't do anything until you call out a plumber". I spoke to a lady and she said I would be getting a phone call back. At 2:30pm I called again and the lady wasn't available to talk. At 4:02pm I got a "silenced call" from **** and I called back at 4:03pm and was told she left for the day and would call me tomorrow. I can't believe this company is still in business with these shady business practices. I have been a long time client but unless I am refunded for this $119 fee I will never use this company again.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for the $119 diagnostic fee. I already paid close to $400 for my other service. That should be enough. This company is greedy for wanting to charge me more, when all that was done was a cleaning of my ice machine.

Mr. Appliance My refrigerator ice maker, which was to be repaired by Mr Appliance of North Central Ohio

My ice Maker was broken it was not giving us very much ice. I filed a repair form on line. AHS told Mr. Appliance of Central Ohio contact. me. Well The couldn't contact me so they sent my payment of $100.00 back I had to repay the deductible. We finally got in touch the technician came out said we needed a part. They had to order it and it would take several weeks before it came in. The next thing I got a email from Mr. Appliance of North Central Ohio, here after (Mr. Appliance) saying they left me voice mail messages, which I never received I received the email message on 3/10/2022.. My voice mail was not giving me messages.

When I found out I wasn't receiving my voice mail messages I called T-Mobile to get it fixed. I called Mr. Appliance on 3/11/2022. They told me at that point they sent the part back. Now they want another $100.00 to come out and fix it.

I called AHS and explained my problem, I talked to a Mary, Mary kept me on the line trying to get ahold of Mr. Appliance. Mary finally got ahold of them and they told her they wanted the extra deposit. I can state I cannot prove they did or did not call me. When I received their email I called them and they sent my part. back. I need that part, I did my part I called them the next day to tell them and make arrangements, for them to fix my refrigerator.. I do not believe I need to pay them an extra deposit, it still needs to be fixed.

0After I was finished telling your agent Marty and she told me about the deposit I told her I did ni feel I needed to pay the extra deposit, your agent started laughing at me on the phone I told her I did not think that was very polite. This is my first problem after paying for my warranty and I want to know is this the type of treatment you are giving all of your customers?

Mr. Appliance Dishwasher Repair

I had a warranty claim, after speaking with the manufacturer of an appliance. Mr. Appliance told me they handled warranty claims for this manufacturer. However, after the service, Mr. Applicance told me the service wasn't a warranty claim and wouldn't even submit it. I paid the full bill and sent a letter of protest. I never even heard back regarding my letter. They should have submitted my warranty claim and let the manufacturer decide whether or not it was legitimate, but they would not even submit it. I feel it was absolutely a warranty claim. And this was after they tried to fix my old dishwasher 3 times and couldn't, after which I bought a new one of the brand they recommended! I will never use Mr. Appliance again.

Desired outcome: I would like two things. 1) An apology from management. 2) Submission of my warranty claim to the manufacturer.

Mr. Appliance In Home Appliance Repair Visit on 1/20/2022

Complete waste of time and money! Called about broken dishwasher and microwave. He arrived, tore the dishwasher apart and found the broken part - the controller board. Told me they run pretty high cost to replace. He looked on his tablet PC, but said he couldn't find the part, so he couldn't give me a price. Said he would charge me the $119 for the house call and call me next day with the price of the part and how long to order. He never called. I called them back a few days later. They said they would follow up by next day - no reply. Called them back several more times over the next few weeks - no reply - this is now over 3 weeks. Plus, the repairman left the dishwasher in pieces and took my broken controller with him. We had no way to get another repairman to evaluate it. We just bought a new dishwasher, never got a response for the microwave part either. Never again with this company! This review is going everywhere I can find online to put it. Thanks for nothing Mister Con-Man!

Mr. Appliance Unethical behavior and repairs done incorrect and unfinished.

My name is Mrs. Cornetet, [protected]. Mr. Appliance, Batavia, OH location, came out to work on my stove top mid to late August. At his second visit he came in to repair unit as he ordered parts. After leaving, it was found the next day that if I turn the left front burner on, both burners turn on and back burner is on high. If I turn back burner on, it only is at the adjustment of HIGH. It is very dangerous. So I immediately called sharing the issue. He came out and he admitted that he did not test burners individually but turned on all burners to show me they were working. When I asked for it to be fixed correctly, he immediately added additional service chgs for the visit and additional labor charges plus costs of additional parts. When I asked question re the additional labor costs when it was not fixed correctly the first time, he became abrupt & began accusing me of the fact that I probably did something to it and to just call someone else. He yelled and was abrupt with us and said well I was lucky he wasn't charging me service call. Which I should never have been charged as it was not fixed and their guarantee. I was out a lot of money and still a mess. I called a new company, Central Services, and after looking at it he said the guy from Mr. Appliance basically made a mess. He cut wires that shouldn't of been cut, replaced a wire with just a high heat wire vs. correct wires mfr states and wire nutted everything, which is considered a temporary fix, PLUS he took the wire diagram off the unit which was originally there. Central Services stated that everything he did was incorrect and not within the ethics and code of an appliance repair person. He should have either butt connectors, soldiered joints or crimp connections. Either of these three would have been correct. At this point, because they do not know what this person at Mr. Appliance specifically did, they don't want to get in there and try to fix it. If they knew what exactly he did and if they had the wiring diagram, they would. When I addressed this franchise, he gets abrupt and hangs up. So far I have been unsuccessful in getting them to repair a minor area of this oven which is well over $3, 500! Mr. Appliance at [protected] Was one that came out. Attached is bill from Central stating on what they found.

Desired outcome: Fixed but not by previous person that came out please. I just want it fixed so I can move on.

Mr. Appliance Company does not stand by their warranty

We talked to the manager when they claimed "customer neglect" of our pristinely kept dishwasher they refused to cover under their parts warranty after only 11 months. The owner's exact words were, "i'm not going to do anything about this."

Do not do business with mr appliance. They do not in any way have your satisfaction in mind. Mr. Appliance of tri-cities technicians will find a way to avoid giving you a warrantied repair even when your appliance fails for the same reason and part within the one-year deadline. They will find a way to disqualify any warranty so they can charge you full price.in our case, the same part they fixed 11 months ago failed - within the warranty window. The tech arrived and somehow misdiagnosed the problem finding an apparent different issue than the warranty part and so ordered a different non-warrantied part. On top of that, the wrong non-warrantied part was shipped causing a week-long delay. They reordered the correct non-warranty part and we waited more than a week for "expedited shipping". When the tech finally came to the house, he realized he actually did need to order the warranty part which he he had misdiagnosed from the beginning. After weeks of dealing with this, they arrive to install the correct warranty part and the tech spent 2 hours trying to slam the part into place.in the end, the technician decides the issue was caused by damage from an unknown object - which he neither could find or prove existed - and therefore disqualified the warranty as "not a manufacturers defect but damage". Do not hire this repair company in gray, tennessee. You will pay and at their discretion. They will not work with you, and they will not try to make you - the customer - happy. They don't care. They will tell you what you want to hear to your face while in your home, then do everything they can to make you pay as much as they can. Once they bill you, you will never see that money again - no matter what the situation. We will never use mr. Appliance again for any reason. I'd rather buy a new appliance than ever spend another penny with this unscrupulous franchise in the tri-cities.

Mr. Appliance Incompetence

The company sent a technician to trouble shoot an erratic temperature oven. The tech, even after I explained to him three times, did not seem to accept my explanation. He told me he did not find any problem and implied that I was not waiting long enough. After he left I turned the oven to 325 and let it heat for an hour. Then took video of the temperature gage and sent it to the office.

I called the office and they again accused me of turning the dial all over the place and blamed me for not using the oven correctly. I asked them to return and he said it would cost ANOTHER $95 for them to return.

I said I did not accept that kind of service and rudeness. BTW, another tech came today and replaced the Temp Sensor and all is fine. Wasted my $95 with Mr Appliance and was insulted in the process.

Mr. Appliance Clothes washer repair

Way over charged and lied that I was saving money on my clothes washer repair. Said the problem was lid switch. Did not have one. Said it would be $250.00 for repair but could bypass for $150.00 saving me $100.00. This is not including tax. Found out that he charged more for repair that if I would have had the part though other appliance repair companies. Called manager and he backed the lie. Don't go with this company. They support deceptive practices.

Mr. Appliance lg refrigerator ice maker invoice #4265293

Set the appointment I waited two weeks before hey could see me. On 6/03/2019 the repair person made the diagnosis and informed me that the ice maker was the problem and I paid the same day for the new ice maker so that he could order the part. My next appointment was set for 6/15/2019 to install another ice maker (AEQ73110210 part number). 7/15/2019 removed the so called deffective ice maker and install another new ice maker. On 7/16/2019, they did some testing and checked operation of fans, air tunnels for proper flow. (see emails 7/18/2019) On 7/18/2019, came back and tested the unti and freezer and their diagnosis this time was that he beleive the unit is low because lack of temp in freezer. On July 20, 2019, Mr. Appliance receive a letter of Authorization to do more indepth checking. On July 22 2019, I was informed by Mr. Appliance that they do not service appliances under LG warranty (Email 7/22/2019).
I am requesting that I get all of my money back I paid for the ice maker because the ice maker was not problem and I want ice maker back and I am also requesting that I also get my money for the service charge I paid because your company does not do warranty work as stated in your email dated 7/22/2019. And still the problem remains

Mr. Appliance Appointment no show/uncaring attitude/tried to scam

I've been trying to get an appointment for weeks. They only work M-F from 8-4, the same hours I work.

On a day I did not have an appointment, I received a message from a tech(Nick) that he was on the way to my house. Later I received a second ( kind of irritated message from Steve concerning why I wasn't home) I called the office and said...I don't have an appointment, I was at work. She (Bernadette), said she was sorry, it was their error.

I made an appointment for Thurs Oct 25th at 4pm. My plan was to get up at 3am, go to work early so I could be certain I would be home by 4pm. On Tuesday the 23rd, Wed the 24th and Thurs the 25th, I received emails, text messages and voice mails each with the wrong times on them. On Tuesday and Wed, I called the office and spoke with Bernadette (several times), reminding her my appointment was at 4pm on Thursday. She assured me it was, again, their error and I was down for 4pm. She said it was on the work order and she would call Nick to confirm. On Thursday (while I was at work) at 2:17pm I received a message from Nick that he was on the way to my house, would be there in 15 minutes and would only wait 10 minutes. I called the office again, spoke to Bernadette, she said I was down for 4pm and she would call Nick. At 3:09pm, Steve left me a message that it probably wasn't going to work out. I called him immediately, he said they had another appointment at 4pm and Nick wasn't going to make it. I told him I had just gotten home and that this was completely unprofessional. He told me Nick could come to my house right then and do the diagnostic (which they charge a fee for), but may not have time to fix the washer before he had to leave for the other call. Basically, trying to lock me into a 100 dollar fee...never knowing when or if they would return. Steve could have cared less about their continuous screw ups. They are so unorganized and unprofessional. After weeks of wasting my time with these incompetents...I'm calling another company. Please don't use this company.
