Mercedes-Benz International Engine light

I took my Mercedes-Bence GLC 250D 4matic, VIN number WDC2539092F307207 in for a service to the dealership in Bedfordview on the 9 February 2023 . When I didn't know that would be the start of the problems on 14 April, the car started giving me issues with Add Blue and the engine and booked it in. On 4 May 2023, I took it in again and got it back in June 2023. The car began giving points again with the same problem in July 2023 the car started giving me problems again so I took it back and only got it back on the 5th of October 2023. The engine light went on again, so I went to the dealership this morning to speak to their service manager, who has been assisting me with bookings. Really, this is frustrating me I thought I was buying a reputable brand and did not sign up for such. I need to make time to sit with Mercedes Benz and discuss the issue with the I have just had back for a month; this is not acceptable.

Desired outcome: I need a solution as I can not keep on paying for a car that is not reliable

Mercedes-Benz International AMG GLC43

Hi

My car has been booked into Mercedes-Benz Bryanston, South Africa.

The dealer is unable to provide an ETA on parts required to repair my AMG GLC43, and has provided me with a Toyota Corolla Cross which is unsatisfactory.

When asked why I cannot be provided with a similar or at least an entry level Mercedes, I was told that the courtesy car was a goodwill gesture and that I should be happy to have a car borrowed to me.

Desired outcome: I need a premium car as I host and transport c-level executives as part of my job

Mercedes-Benz International - Cluster instrument panel replacement on a ml350 mercedes with 29,938 miles

The cluster instrument panel on my 2014 Mercedes ML350 went out and I was unable to see any information on my dashboard (no indicators, no warning messages, etc.). My vehicle has 29,887 miles when this happened which is too new for a cluster instrument panel to just stop working. My vehicle is 9 years old but again very low mileage and is serviced every...

Mercedes-Benz International Mercedes G63

Dear All,

Good evening.

I bought a second hand G63 mercedes in Oman under number plate 867 BS. Before I purchased the car I took the car for a health check which gave me a report on all malfunctioning items.

I was given a report on the radiator which was repaired outside the dealer and I was informed that there no further repairs reqiured.

Since I purchased the car I have been spending on average RO 1,500 (Euro 3,000) on the car for the same repeated coolant problem. As the coolant repair.

I also wanted to add that I faced a problem with my CLS 500 under number plate 85 D with the suspension (which has now done 11 years), which I purchased as new. After spending a huge amount on repairs, I decided to take the car to a UAE dealer in Abu Dhabi. Only after they did a thorough diagnosis and repair that the vehicle was fixed and repair charges were minimum.

I can no longer afford that much expenses to be spent and the costs incurred is much higher than what I would have paid for a brand new car for this period.

I request that my car is repaired immediately free of cost and I get compensated for the number of days the car was with the dealer while I was without a car and all interest costs for this.

Best regards,

Faisal

Desired outcome: Free repair of the car

Mercedes-Benz International I am complaining about my benz c350e hybrid inverter

As I started my vehicle early morning with a sound smoke was spread along the bonnet as soon as possible I stopped the ignition and open the bonnet to wave off the smoke and I took the vehicle to the garage using a carrier as the garage maintainence staff inspected the car they said that the inverter has been not working and it has been exploded inside so I don’t know what is the incident for this as we use this vehicle as branded but the company failure is much sevier case as if something happen if burnt the vehicle so I think it will harm the Mercedes Benz brand tooo

Chasis number - WDD2050472F387045

Desired outcome: So I think Mercedez company Germany could give me desired answer for this and my expenses which I had to carry because of an unusual expectation I could face as we keep lot of hopefulness of benz and it could damage to the customer base

Mercedes-Benz International The vehicle slc300 and the service department

i have a slc 300, year 2020 always stored in garage and use it as a weekend car. i have problem with the rooftop. It has been leaking water inside the car and very horrible wind noise. I tried to get it repaired at mercedes benz boggs road Duluth dealer 4-5 times and the issue remains unresolved. It is really frustrating after buying this (my dream). The customer service doesn’t care at all and i feel like i have spent my money with the people who doesn’t care about the customer after sales.

Mercedes-Benz International Sold me a lemon

On March 24, 2022 I bought a 2008 BMW 528XI at Mercedes-Benz of WESTWOOD. During the process of buying car I ask if there were any problems with the car, I was told no and given a list of all repairs done by Mercedes-Benz technician. All lies, nothing was done. The following day the Check Engine Light came, brought it back to service. Service advisor recommended that I bring it to BMW NORWOOD. Repairs weren't done properly, if done at all. Unfortunately my car is not drivable, because it needs a new transmission. It hasn't been a year yet. To resolve this problem, I would appreciate my car repair, exchange, or money refunded. Thank you.

Desired outcome: Repairs, exchange, or money refunded.

Mercedes-Benz International G500 repair in bodyshop ripoff

Dear Mercedes Benz Group,

This is a customer from Kuwait who purchased a G500 back in 2015 from Mercedes Benz.

Plate # 11669 following services and bodyshop work with AlMulla company

Im sending this email to complain against the current situation with my car

I have been back & forth from the body shop (Al Mulla Kuwait) with multiple problems which are not getting resolved last of which I felt unsafe and in danger especially when your car was just released and cleared to be operating normally only 2 months back.

My problem started back in August/2022 when I had a car accident after which I had sent my car to the bodyshop/spare parts workshop for repair.

In the beginning, my job card was under the care of Mr. Ranjith.

Ofcourse with the current bad reputation of Mercedes benz services in Kuwait, my job card estimate took around 2-3 weeks to be relayed to me with no care or substitute car whatsoever.

This is not an issue, I kept calling and asking for the estimate with no one answering back to my enquiries and calls. Until the person responsible for my job card was changed after visiting the bodyshop.

Then, Mr Steven Bobusch was responsible for my car job card.

He also took another 3 days to evaluate it from his side and I dont blame him for that.

After his evaluation, it was reached that I had damage to my cars axle & he sent me an estimate of repairs worth around 15500 KD which is around 50000 USD.

I told him that this number was way too high and he informed me that we have two options:

1) either we repair your axle and get it back to around 99% with other repairs

2) get a new axle and go ahead with the old estimate

So not being a mechanic or someone who works in garages I agreed to the 1st option which was way cheaper.

However, I was not informed of any damages or problem which may occur later on & this was not mentioned in any of my estimates (only that I agreed to remove the axle part and have it repaired). Except I was informed that I would only feel a slight misalignment on the wheel while gripping which I didnt mind.

So my car took around 4 months to get repaired waiting for the parts to arrive from Dubai. In the meantime, I wasnt given a substitute car because Mr Steven had said to me that we dont give customers substitute cars on their own will but 1 week later another representative was kind enough to arrange one for me (2 months later).

So I had absorbed all the anger and all the duration that my car was in their bodyshop without me having any car to drive, and by the way I am a Doctor who works in multiple hospitals, so I require my car at all times.

After the duration of repair, I recieved my car from the workshop, not cleaned, dirty and in bad condition because my car was left in the sun for 2 months in the beginning with no care. Then I find out that they had charged me for changing the cars battery even though they were responsible and they were the ones who kept my car in the sun with taking care of the consequences.

I took my car because I couldnt believe it, I was just glad to have my car back and they gave me a warranty on the parts & their labor work.

Around 2 months later, while driving my car, I was going for a U-turn, when all of a sudden the car loses control, my wheel starts power-steering and I was going to crash into another car and into the sidewalk of the road. I feared for my life at that and was surprised that this happened all of a sudden with no warning or alarms.

Then I got multiple alarms EPS, ABS, traction signs all lgihting up in my car.

At that time I contacted the bodyshop to get the car to them and so I did, and its back in there in the sun and here I am thinking to myself that I bought myself a Mercedes Benz G500 to put myself in danger on the road and have it in the bodyshop for 6/12 months per year.

Im still thinking how can Mercedes benz give me or repair a car and let me recieve a car which would put me in such a critical & dangerous situation where my life would be in danger.

So, then they do their estimate and im furious at this time because it also takes 4 days to give me an estimate, and the person responsible for my job card this time is Mr. Marco dos santos who tells me that I will do my best to see what I can do. He then comes back and tells me that you have damages to the car as a consequence to the axle and that it should be repaired with a new axle. He also tells me that you shouldnt have been given an option where an axle gets repaired because it doesnt work that way. So, I ask him why wasnt it relayed to me that we cant repair the axle and the only option is to change it & he has no answer?!

He then tells me I cant help you and that you should go on and repair the car, he gets a crane and removes and puts it in the sun and tells me that I need to decide and theres nothing more I can do?! My life was at risk and he tells me that I have nothing to offer but remove the labour work? Not to mention that during their estimate they mention that my wheelhub is broken and needs changing (and this is secondary to the axle?)

I know that this is not my field of expertise but this is Mercedes Benz! when I recieve my car and am given my car with guarantees that it can driven on the road and then suddenly it loses all driving capabilities what am I supposed to do?!

I told Mr. Marco that you should atleast remove the money paid for the last job card (I had paid 4700 KD around 15000 USD) from the estimate this time and he said no we will not help with that.

I see this unfair and ive been put in a situation where im held responsible for repairs which ive paid for and havent seen a result from. I dont think its fair for me to pay and be held responsible from repairs done by the workshop.

Im sending this email for your input and for you to dig into the situation and find me other solutions because I dont think this was fair and this is not a situation I should be put in by a company such a Mercedes Benz

Thank you & im looking forward to your response

* attached are the estimates and paid amount (invoice of service charge)

Desired outcome: I wish to get better service in Mercedes benz kuwait because we have the worst service from all Mercedes benz dealers all over the world

Mercedes-Benz International GLE 300D

Good day! This is to formalize my complaints regarding my GLE 300D with plate number NFQ-7428 which was received by Miss Veronica in CATS Motors in Greenhills San Juan, Metro Manila last Nov. 24, 2022 for the diagnosis of Adaptive highbeam plus Inoperative assists on the board of my car and unsudden alarm. I was told that it will only take 1-2 days and she even informed me that she will give me feedback on Nov. 24, 2022 afternoon.

Unfortunately, I called yesterday and I've talked to one of their service person Christian and he told me that he will relay the message to service advisor and will call me. Up to now I was so dissapointed that it seems nobody is taking care of my concern.

Respectfully Yours,

Rolando Arante

Desired outcome: I was hoping that they will at least give an update regarding this. I was so dissapointed with your service. Please kindly help me with my concern.

Mercedes-Benz International Service

I took my vehicle in to have the alternator replaced 7-12-22 and when it was finished, I was told they did a walk around inspection. I had mentioned that my brakes had just started making noise and I was told it was wear & tear! Reviewing the recommended services, I was shocked that this had not been found before now when I had my vehicle in before. This kind of wear doesn't happen overnight that's for sure. So, I'm curious why this was never found before when there had been an inspection unless there really wasn't an inspection and I was just told all was, ok?

So, I sent a complaint to the NHTSA and the report is attached so that you will know. I feel that there have been other vehicles like mine that should have been caught before there was an accident. Looking for a recall on this matter.

My service was done at the 96th Street location in Indianapolis-Carmel. Service consultant was Jack Harrell and Certified Tech was Z. Woodrum

Desired outcome: Recall

Mercedes-Benz International Mercedes Benz South Africa repairs

My car has gone in for repair work at Constantia kloof dealership 7 times in the last 6 months and right now it’s with them since the 4th of August. The first problem was a cylinder head gasket that blew up at 47 000km , this was after the vehicle had just returned from being repaired.

I had a meeting with the dealer principle on the 8th of June after the 3rd time who told me that they failed to tighten seals on my vehicle during the first reassembly hence I keep coming back but it had been resolved , the vehicle has had 4 issues after that incident. When I informed them that they had damaged my vehicle beyond repair and they either needed to replace or buy back they then sent an offer. This offer was over R100000 lower than the value of the car. Hoping to profit from my demise.

- I had not received the last 3 job cards/ invoice a month after repairs were completed and I had to escalate to the ceo to get them

- when I did receive them, there was incorrect mileage on the job cards

- there were invoices sent to me that they created when the car was in my possession

- upon presentation of these job cards to assessors I was informed that the initial problem the vehicle had only happens at the end of a lifespan of a vehicle and also to vehicles not properly maintained - my vehicle is on a motor plan and was serviced a month prior

- they then got legal advise and they stated that “it is not uncommon for a used vehicle to have issues occur or reoccur “ so does this mean people should not buy Mercedes’ benz used vehicles ?

- I am afraid of driving this vehicle. There was a time it came from having repair work and it would jerk on the high way.

Please assist if you can . I don’t know if things would be different if I had different demographics but I’m starting to believe it would.

Desired outcome: My vehicle needs to be replaced

Mercedes-Benz International A car - A45s AMG

I brought the car brand new in February 2021. This is the A45s+ AMG. I had an older model of the same car and loved it – I had absolutely no problems.

However, with this new car, I am back at the Mercedes Benz dealership with a different and new problem each time. I am of the opinion that this is ridiculous given that this brand new car.

A few of the problems I have encountered with this new car:

• Squeaking brakes - I was told (by a Mercedes Benz services adviser) that this is a common problem amongst new cars as asbestos is no longer used in brakes. I was told that there is nothing that can be done on this. So the car still squeaks when breaking.

• A loud vacuum like noise from the driver's wheel side. So loud I couldn’t hear the radio while driving. This was fortunately fixed.

• The most recent problem: the car showed a battery issue. The car literally stopped while I was l driving. I was fortunate that this happened in broad daylight. Imagine if it happened at night – while alone.

The most recent problem: I was told that that this could be fixed, but it will require a part that can only be ordered in from Germany. Which means that I will spend 6-8 weeks with no car.

I have not been provided a courtesy car, Mercedes’s rental service is out of stock and I have been placed on a shortlist. Now I am using Uber as a mode of transport – since I don’t know when, or if, I will receive a car.

When purchasing a premium car, one would think/assume that you are purchasing a premium product and service. This has not been the case for me.

To add insult to injury - if i do not call the dealership, I will never find out when i am getting a temp car.

Desired outcome: A brand new car or refund at purchase value.

Mercedes-Benz International Malfunctions on car letting me drive with red warning lights on. Not supplying parts.

Good morning i have been trying to reach Mercedes’ Chelsea you by phone for 5 days now, a total of 54times will and haven’t received a call back yet.

I need the part you got in for my car ( oo07DTG) sending to the Mercedes dealership in Sicily please with some urgency please.

The shock absorber has been on order for sometime and finally came in last week. I have been calling relentlessly to get it in before i had to drive to Sicily on the 23rd June.

My car had been in many many times for the same problem and in spite of my paying a small fortune the problem has never been fixed. Even reoccurring after just one day.

My car had been in before i set off with another problem too. The active curve malfunctioning in red warning light. You also charged me for fixing this.it was in fact not fixed. Needless to say it malfunctioned again when i was driving through France , i managed to speak to one of your technicians who said it was fine to drive to Sicily some 1600km with this problem. A couple of days later you called to say my part had arrived. I said i was now in Italy with a few hundred miles to go. But the car was behaving in a weird manner and he advised me that the car was in fact not safe and to get it to a garage immediately?

My car is now in the service department at COMER SUD in Sicily who have been outstanding. I have CC the manager on this email.

I need the shock absorber sending to here so i can make the journey home safely in august. Please can you send over the shock absorber to: see below. As soon as humanly possible please. If not i will have to escalate this whole drama with Mercedes head office and lodge a formal complaint seeing as i put both myself , my daughter and other road users in grave danger !

Regards

Deborah Greatorex

Desired outcome: Parts being sent to Sicily and a full check on why my vehicle shock absorber system constantly malfunction

Mercedes-Benz International Mercedes Benz GLC 2018

I bought the car in 2020 @ 17 000 km, believing that the low mileage comes with less problem and reliability, I was wrong, this car always has problem with constant engine light signs, obviously related to different problem with the car. The history of this engine warning light can be obtained. Sometimes the light comes up and disappear randomly, on many occasions it stopped reversing and show warning msg " Reversing not possible consult workshop" which really inconvenience me. the worst thing, when I attempt to report the matter, I'm told they can’t assist me because the msg disappeared and it does not show the car history, why is that?

With all, the state of this car is questionable, not reliable, and costly. now I don't have a car, I'm told to wait for 48 working hours which is equivalent to 6 days, as per policy. I'm incurring Uber costs. The worst service was to improvise and find means to go home (28 March 22 @constantia Kloof)

I am not really getting any joy with the car, which is still under warrant, the number of faults it has does meet the brands quality, which its diminishing, and the its image of Mercedes is put to disrepute.

Mercedes-Benz International 2009 Mercedes Sl550

Part of my dashboard has pulled away, not due to anything I have done. I have taken it to the dealership which has done the majority of the service on since I have owned this car. We have two(2) mercedes vehicles, and we love them... however, I believe this is a manufacturing defect, but the dealership says it is normal wear., which I do not believe.

Desired outcome: Although the car no longer has a warranty, I would like this repaired under a "manufacturing defect" without charging me/

Mercedes-Benz International Mercedes c350 coupe poor service delivery parts.

I ordered a part for my Mercedes 2 months ago and did many follow ups as did the agent assigned to me. However Mercedes Benz South Africa is unapologetic and completely unhelpful a complete disregard for customer service. There is no time frame and everyday the story changes from been in country to not. The worse part is the lies we should not expect it from a brand such as MB. Probably the worse I have ever seen. I receive better service in government offices. I would highly recommend the distribution of Mercedes South Africa changes. I have dealt with MBSA - Umhlanga branch. My email is [protected]@ymail.com.

Desired outcome: Some feed back an apology as goodwill. Most importantly my headrest delivered promptly.

Mercedes-Benz International Sub-standard quality in the construction of ml500 sedan, 2013 model.

I purchased the vehicle second hand from a Mercedes dealership in Mosman, Sydney, Australia in 2015.

Recently whilst driving on a busy road the vehicle suddenly lost all power and the motor stopped. It would restart but then would immediately stop. The vehicle was then transported to a well respected mechanical workshop.

In short, diagnosis revealed insufficient petrol supply to the engine injector pumps. Rust contaminated petrol was discovered in the system. Detailed dismantling of the fuel tank and its 2 pumps has revealed that the rust was the result of rust on the outer casing of the pumps (I can provide photos). The hold down springs on the outside of the two fuel pumps had rusted! Pieces of rust had become dislodged and blocked the fuel pumps.

It is quite unbelievable that Mercedes have made such a poor design decision to use rust prone material in such a vulnerable component as the internal of the fuel tank! Mercedes vehicles are very expensive prestige vehicles and it is unbelievable that such a low cost and vulnerable item has been used for such a critical function. To develop rust, it needed water also in the fuel and whilst it should not be present in the fuel, the absence of water cannot be taken for granted. Petrol supply cannot be relied upon to be 100% pure and free of moisture.

This is now a very expensive repair for me brought about by what I can only say is the choice of such poor quality and cheap materials (the springs) in the construction of the fuel pumps. I am interested to have your comments. More importantly, is Mercedes prepared to admit a design error with this vehicle given what I perceive to be a less than expected standard of performance for such an expensive vehicle?

Kind Regards

Laurie deAmbrosis

Desired outcome: Reimbursement of the repair cost for the design error.
