Mayan Palace Great Vacations Club Complaints & Reviews

Mayan Palace Great Vacations Club / Scam by Great Vacations Club & Mayan Palace

I have had trouble with an affiliated organization to the Mayan Palace known as the Great Vacations Club (GVC). This is the final step before you are out of the slimy high pressure timeshare sales presentation. It comes off as a survey to ensure you were treated right but moves to another sales pitch, one I was foolish to sign. I signed the contract November 28, 2006. I canceled by telephone (calling the GVC Texas Customer Service office) November 30, 2006, well within the five day cancellation period allowed by Article 56 of Mexican Consumer Protection Law. I even have documentation confirming...

Mayan Palace Great Vacations Club / Scam and cheating!

I bought what I thought was a good deal to a vacation club while on vacation in Mexico. The salesperson was very nice, but did not divulge that if I canceled the purchase that I would not receive the $5,060 purchase price...as far as it goes, I have canceled the purchase and thus far have not received the refund. I received the package approximately after a month, and attempted to cancel the day I received it: upon contacting the company they said I only had 5 days for cancellation from the day of purchase. It was impossible to know that, since it was not explained at the time of purchase, nor...

Mayan Palace Great Vacations Club / Feeling foolish and ripped off!

Said yes and the next day drove to the resort where the sales managers were the so rude it was unbelievable. The first manager called us liars and wanted to know why we were there if we already owned two time shares. (They invited us!) The sales lady was very polite but had a VERY poor product to show us. When they brought in the closing managers, four of them one at time, they couldn't understand the word "NO". After three...

Mayan Palace Great Vacations Club / Don't let this happen to you!

Va

Don't fall victim!! This is what happened to me: I was taken to breakfast and then told how I could make lots of money if I bought several timeshare weeks with Mayan Resorts and rented them out. I was given figures (which I never got copies of) by my salesman that would make me good money. I later found these figures to be grossly exaggerated. I was also given figures showing how my timeshare would increase in value, which I also later found was false. I was told after I signed the contract by my salesman that I was "locked-in" and could not cancel my contract. I found out several week...
