I have been applying for service since September this year. The online portal process is too slow and they give out contradictory information. They take weeks to review your documents. My family and I have been in the cold since September. I've called multiple times only to be told to upload more documents instead of making sure I have everything the first...

Liheap Income Guidelines

What is the point in calling it low income assistance when they require you to have shut off notices and disconnect bills but then say you make too much money? If I made too much, do you think I would have a shut off notice? I HATE the fact that I have to work for pennies, owe out thousands and can not get the few dollars that the state is offering because I make $214 over the eligibility income guidelines...WHERE do you go to get help when the helpers tell you no? Who is gonna get the assistance, the people who dont need it...the people who are lying to the system and having babies to keep the money coming in...who else will get it...the people who carry the designer bags and wear the expensive clothes and drive the new cars...but have EBT cards and get cash and medical. something has to be done about this...people that need help from the state can not get it and the taxes keep going up so how are we supposed to survive in this world? Next stop...state legislature!

I am about to lose my elect. I called Progress for help and they gave me this number [protected]...they said they at times can cover the full bill or at least make a partial payment...I thought great, so I called on Mon. and a recording stated they only accept appointments on Mon. Wed and Fri. 8:30am to 4:30pm and if that recording is reached before 4:30pm...
