On 6/30/23, approximately 11am Mt I called Larson door company consumer service number and no matter which department number I selected the same recording about everyone there in all those departments was too busy to take a call and none of the departments ask that you leave a number for a return call.

I’ll never buy Chinese, nor a foreign made product if ther is a USA company making the same or I’ll do without, but, I’ll never buy from a company that I know or learn about after the fact, as in my case, who disrespects the consumer, who has made them for what they are, and I advise others to do the same. The consumer’s spent dollar is the consumer’s financial vote! Be satisfied or change. I’m changing in my case. Learn from buyers.

I am having the same issue as another described.

"These storm doors deteriorate because of moisture being held in the bottom of the doors because of the bottom metal piece that acts as a gutter to trap moisture"

I had covered the rotted areas before with some vinyl contact paper and was going to reskin the lower panel today and the rotting was too far gone and realized the door needs to be replaced.

It's too bad as the door is still in good shape other than the rotting in the lower panel.

On Oct. 21, 2022, I bought a Larson storm door, model 149FV. Then, in the following week, I mailed in a Larson Rebate Offer along with a copy of the paid invoice. This was a rebate for $50. The mailing deadline was Nov. 15, 2022. The form said to allow up to 8 weeks for delivery. The rebate didn't come, so in February I went back to the local retailer seeking help. They gave me the Larson customer service phone number. I called that number and had to leave a message, which I did. No one has returned my call. So on March 17 I mailed a copy of the rebate form and receipt to the address on the rebate form. I still haven't heard from anyone on this matter. I am writing to request that Larson honor their rebate promotion.

June 2022 ordered a storm door from lowes picked it up when order came in July 2022. Installed Aug 2022. Jan 13,2023 I opened my inside front door and the storm door glass broke went on my head and down my back. My husband and I went to lowes they said need to call Pella finally got them to replace the glass,. Someone from Pella called said it was ordered and they would bring it and put it in when the order came. What a joke Pella is they get your money and they are done never ever again will I buy Pella they do not back there products up at all

3 years ago we built a custom home. The back door is an 8 foot tall door. We custom ordered a Larson storm door with the hidden closing system ($900). After approximately a year and a half the closer failed and the door began slamming shut. I lived with it for a while and finally called Larson. A very nice woman looked up my registration number and told me it was out of warranty however she would send a new closer free of charge. 10 weeks later the closer arrived. I followed their instructions only to find the clip in the upper track that the opener arm attaches to and serves to hold the door open is a thin piece of plastic that crumbled in my hand when I tried to remove it. The new closer they sent did not come with a replacement. I have ordered another one of the sliding clips for $20. It appears I have to cut the caulking and remove the upper track to replace this clip. This will entail recalling and repainting. It is obvious from the design and my experience with this door this system will soon fail again. The closer needs a more robust piston for the 8 foot door and the little thin plastic clip should be milled from aluminum or some other durable material. I use this door several times a day and I am certain I will just have to buy a better door soon or modify this door to work better. I expected better from Larson and this expensive storm door.

Larson has no email address anywhere. None.
If you want to contact them you can either wait on hold on the phone or wait in the online chat queue. I can tell you the chat queue has taken an hour to get through both times I've used it.

They are currently closed. Wish I could send them a quick email now about the problem.
They have failed twice to send me the warranty replacement parts.
The first time they looked and "the system hadn't uploaded the order". If the phone rep can figure that out then there IT department certainly can.

Today they sent me half the door knob equipment. The interior half. The exterior handle had cracked off and is unusable.
I have been without a front door handle for two months. I waited way too long the first time to figure out they weren't going to send me the package without me wasting another hour slogging through their wait queue a second time.

I've got a rope going through the front door handle opening. We pull the rope to open or close the door. Well, I did have a rope, I cut it out expecting to install a real handle again.

I have purchased six of your Larson storm doors. Two for my house, two for my parents and two for my in-laws. I have replaced three door handles at my home. Another just broke yesterday. I have replaced one, at each parents house. Have you all come up with a better door handle then the ones I have been purchasing. Part number 20275317R. I believe you sent me one also. Love the doors. Handles, not so much. Actually, they are junk. At $80.00 a piece. I’m thinking I’m gonna have to change door companies unless you have or are going to improve these handles. Realistically I could have purchased a new door for what I have paid for handles.

Ordered a replacement door handle Friday Dec 16 early in the morning. Late Friday afternoon recieved an email stating the handle would not be delivered until the 23rd. I payed 20.00 dollars extra for 2 day shipping. I contact customer service the next day assured me it would be shipped Monday the 19th. Now it is Tuesday the 20th had not recieved a conformation now they say it will be Thursday before it is delivered of course they claim it is still within the 2 day shipping. I told them it should not take 2 days to package and ship a product. I like Larson doors but will install pella from now on

I purchased two Larson storm doors with hidden closers a little more than a year ago. Within 6 months of using the doors they began slamming shut. I contacted Larson through their CHAT WITH US option and explained what was happening with the screen doors. They mailed two new hidden closers that I installed. The screen doors worked great for a little while. And here I am less than 6 months of the installation of the new hidden closers and the screen doors are slamming shut again. Rather than replacing the hidden closers every 6 months Larson should be refunding my money so that I may buy screen doors that actually work. I have pets that are in and out all day and I fear they will get hurt by the slamming screen door.

I installed 3 Larson Storm Doors at my home in the last 12 months, 2 this year and those are not under a porch or awning. I installed the yellow gold door hardware assembly's and the hardware on the outside of the 2 doors installed this year the handles on the outside of the doors have faded. Not even installed 8 months.

I have called at least 7 times, no way to leave a message or talk with a person. Larson does not even answer emails.

Very disappointed

Twice I have tried to purchase a Tradewinds Selection 32-in by 81-in Black Mid-view Storm Door with Handle Included. Item #841444 Model #[protected] from Lowes in Henderson, NV. And twice the order has been cancelled after two weeks. It seems like Lowes does not want to order the door. I have written Larsen Doors and have been told the item is in stock. Please advise. Is there another distributor that I could go through?

I have had two of their exterior combination doors for about two years now. Both need to be replaced because the bottom of the doors wick up any moisture/rain that runs in to the bottom sweep/gutter. It expands so bad that the door is separating and splitting seems. This is the second time this has happened and I promise I will never purchase nor recommend another Larson product again!

On July 28, 2021, I ordered the above storm door from Maddux Lumber & Hardware in Lufkin, Texas. The closer was faulty and they reordered one.

As of this date, June 17, 2022, they have been unable to get the replacement part in to their business!

I love the door! But, I hope you stand behind your product and ship them the closer soon.

Dear sirs,

I purchased 7 storm windows from Manards in Belleville, Mi. on 04/09/22. The problem is the 2nd. catch on 3 windows are 12.5" from bottom of window, 4 windows the 2nd. catch is 17" from the bottom. I've sent 2 pictures showing the different. Would I return the windows back to Manards?

You cannot to talk to anyone at this place, the phone just rings or if you do get through, they walk you through and tell you due to high call volume they are unable to assist you.

I had 3 Larson doors installed that were ordered by 84 lumber on 12/9/2019 and were installed in 2020. The doors have all had brown gunk coming out of the bottoms of door and have swelled from water being held in the bottom.

From the pictures attached, you can see the trail from the yuck on the mats and sidewalk.

Also the handles of the doors have turned a terrible color on the outsides not matching interior color

These doors were sandstone in color and contained the screen away.

Very disappointed that something that was supposed to be good quality hasn’t even lasted 2 years.

I bought this door at Menards to replace what I thought was an identical Larson door that we installed several years ago. It looked the same as we unboxed but there were just slight differences in the hole placements on the side and top pieces so we took all of that down and started from square one.

We were missing the pieces to hold the glass in. So we used the pieces from our old door. And then we were missing the trim so we used that from the old door as well. And then once we got the whole thing assembled, the door was too small for the opening. Ugh. We measured 36 inches, replaced a door that was 36 inches, and the box for ours says 36 inches. But it isn’t. And to top it off, it doesn’t fit flush against the weather stripping and you have to pull it super hard to make it latch. So frustrated. We are pretty handy and the last door took us about 45 minutes from start to finish. It’s now been over four hours and we aren’t done with this crap door. We decided we are going to get a different one because this one is complete junk. I’m hoping Menards will take it back however we can get it to them.

On Oct. 28, 2021, I (Jeffery N. Johnson) was having some play time and establishing a relationship with my 3yr old daughter Nevaeh. We had several conversation about opening the screen door and going out side without my permission, and that I also had to push the level on the handle to lock/open the screen door. While taking a bathroom break, upon returning to play time, Nevaeh was not in the living room. I panicked a little as she like to play hide and seek. Hollowing her name for several minutes and no jump out and say "surprise", my heart started to race as I pace back and forth through out the apartment. I then notice that the screen door had been unlock and I found my 3yr old daughter outside at the play ground. Nevaeh insisted that she didn't open the screen door latch like I had told her not to do. When we got back to the apartment I asked her how did you get out then, and she said like this daddy. I said well I be, check her way several time, latch unlocked, check the different style latch on our back door same way. What I'm saying here's that, for over at least 60 plus years according to the Larson Manufacturing website, this classic, and best seller K-5006 and K-5007 product, and I forgot #1 has been found defective. My 3yr old daughter Nevaeh showed this me. I check her way 100 times and the screen door was unlatched without pushing any buttons.

Have already replaced original handle once to the sum of $55.00. Replacement handle is currently duplicating performance of original handle, ..no longer spring tension in handle mechanism sufficient enough to latch. Removed handle and unfortunately it's not user friendly to repair. I am satisfied with the door itself but the handles lack integrity .
