Green Springs Publishing poetry

I actually receved a letter about two monthes back, for my poem to be published in Green Springs, book called, Whispers. I was verry angry to look on the internet to find out that it may be a fake. I feel like my work has been exploited, and it requiers you to pay for a book, ( wich i thought was odd). Does any one know if it is real or fake?

I am 13, and Green Spring wanted to publish one of my poems in Whispers. I was so excited, and I ordered six copies. When they arrived, my poem was there. But the book was also filled with typos, and horrible structure altogether. I also received a misprinted copy, where half of the pages were printed upside-down and with extra paper sticking out. When I went to their website, it told me the Green Spring was out of business. I have come to the suspect that this might have been work-at-home company masquerading as a big-shot. I am worried that my poem might have been stolen, and I do regret purchasing more than one copy. Some of the poems were not works that I was proud to displayed next to. I have never seen this book anywhere outside of my house, and a search on Amazon shows nothing. Make of this what you will.

i was asked if they use my poem as well, fortunately for me i never sent any money, however i was really excited that they wanted to publish my poem that i told all of my friends and now that i know this is a scam i just feel so angry, that i almost fall for this... i was thinking about how funny it was that they didn't offer me any money for my poem plus, they didn't ask for rights to copyright my work which takes 12-18 months to do. HOPE NO-ONE ELSE FALLS FOR THIS SCAM.

Hello all:
Here is my experience with Greenspring, the company you CAN'T communicate with.
See the emails below:

I don't know if this is a legit company or not. My credit card was charged and I never received the books. I did however get a response from "Josh" who sent me this:

Josh:

Where are the books?

I would like a refund if they are not coming. I have POD company and this is taking way too long.

Hi,

I'm sorry we have not received any of your previous emails, we've received
your order. We're waiting on the books from the printer, there was a
delay...we were waiting for some final edits from authors.

We expect to start shipping the this week, or early next week. Once it is
shipped you will receive an email with the tracking information.

Josh

There is no date of shipping and to this day I never received the books. You cannot call them because their phone system puts you in a loop and "Josh" has not responded to my follow up emails. This is nonsense. If the company is having financial troubles, they shouldn't be taking money. The only reason I bought six books was to see my lousy poem.

Well, I had gotten the same letter saying that they wanted to publish my poem, And I didn't think it was real at first, but then I decided to just trust in it, so I sent them a check and I gave permission to publish it, and a couple months later... I get a book titled "Whispers" and flip through the pages and find my poem with my name. So I would trust you if I were you! I mean come on, you could be able to call yourself a published poet. In my eyes, that awesome!

I was, apparently just like everyone else, was contacted by Greenspring Publishing. I had sent in the required papers, signatures, and money. It's been almost 6 months sense I had been contacted by them. I've been concerned about this issue, and I have sent multiple emails to their "support" along with calling them, which I have yet to get any answer. I also decided to look into it further, I decided to "mapquest" their address. In which nothing comes up at all. Not even the company name itself. The address that they provide isn't a valid address. It does not exist in Greenspring, MD. I also tried GoogleMaps, along with a few other map programs and websites.

Maybe I am wrong, which I hope I am, because it would be extremely unfortunate to me and others to have been scammed by these people. Someone who would decide to take our hard work, and take our money for it is immature. Once again. I hope I am incorrect about these accusations. We'll have to see

also, if greenspings IS a real company, if you think about it carefully, we may be paying to get our peoms in the book. think, they pick the top 5% right? what if it's NOT based on the best poems, but wether or not we pay. if we pay, we assure a spot in the book, if we don't pay and order the book, we don't get our poems in the books. i know i'm being negative but don't you think it's a bit of a fickle that it's a private publication? if it's a really good company, shouldn't we of heard about it before? and if not, shouldn't there be at least bit of information about it on the internet? can't it be just one rich scamer, scaming us to pay for a book with something we wrote in it? think, he'll pick a 1000 poems, ask for permission from the authors. let's say only half of the authors decide to buy it, that's 500 poems he has in his posession= he uses all the poems he's allowed to and STILL gets paid. i hope i explained that nicely.

i'm sorry i did read all of the comments. green springs publishing asked my permission to use my poem in a book called "Voices". I understand that my poem might not even be included in the book and that i was merely picked in the 5%... is there any other proof that greensprings is a real company? it's easy for the same user to comment, signing with different names. all the positive comments, can't they be from the same person?

I have seen it over and over again. People complaining about poetry sites. I have found that most of the people who complain are the ones who haven't won any money. I have been writing poems for many years. I have never won any money. I have never complained about it either. I didn't start out doing it to try and make any money anyway. I did it just to see if I could. Getting published was enough to satisfy me. Having poems published in books is something that will remain after I am gone. It is kind of my mark in the world that will remain here cause I won't. I think that people should lighten up about complaining about it. Enjoy the fact that you are being published. Put the money issiue on the back burner. Do you write because you like to write? Or are you looking to make money from it? Pursue your dream anyway and remember you don't have to buy the book. Enjoying just getting published if you do.
