Family Dollar Threat of calling law enforcement on senior citizen.

On march 15, 2024 at approx. 10:30am I, Lillie craig entered the store. Be prepared to go to work. I usually complain about having to move boxes or carts to continue down the isle and do not forget the person stocking the freezer or shelfs, person may be on a ladder. I always complain because I have to work to spend my money. At this time navigate myself around three people and boxes. .No such thing as my space. Ms. Barbara said to me she apologizes, that the truck came in this morning and she was so tired. Ms Barbara and I went back and forth. I said it is always this way, she said no. Finally she said I will call the police and leave my store. I picked up paper towels, she stated you will not be able to buy. 0,k. The police should not be called for verbally voicing my opinion. I am 73 years of age with (27) yrs of working state prisons, been in same location (20) yrs, longer than the store has existed I think.

Family Dollar Employee customer service

I went to my local Family Dollar in Marietta, OK I saw the lady employee standing outside smoking with another person, I went in and got my product, waited at the register for approximately 5 minutes then went to the door to leave I said "guess I'll have to go to the other one" and the lady employee said " Ok that is fine just leave". She also said " I am quitting anyways".

Desired outcome: This store has had employees for quite sometime now that are rude and not caring. We would like to see this store back in shape and more productive.

Family Dollar Customer service on the manager on duty/ prices

I went in to get a red bull and lollipops. I was looking for a certain flavor which wasn't in the coolers, they were on the aisle. When I saw that the price was 3 for 6, I got 3. When the associate rung up the red bulls that wasn't ringing up correctly, so I told her were the price was located, she said I need to get mix flavors to get it for that price. I did it but they still weren't ringing up correctly and she was getting really rude. I stated that they hire idiots because of how she was trying to explain instead of getting a manager. When I asked for a manager, she said she was the manager and for me to leave the store because she wasn't going to ring up what I asked her for. She then starts to get loud and said that if I didn't leave the store, she was going to call the police on me, and I said go ahead and call them. As she was calling the police she went to the back and got 2 other women that was in the store. They both went to the aisle where I got the red bulls and said that it's not your fault the prices were in the wrong place. We proceeded to go to the register and the associate that told me to leave asked are you going to check her out after I told her that she wasn't getting checked out. She then stated I'm going to take a break because she was pissed that the other lady was ringing me up. So, it didn't stop there because of the other associate leaving getting upset caused the lady to not check me out ither and I said I will be contacting corporate office. I really need someone to call me about this issue. By the way I'm new to this area. That was a first time. I'm in management and customers aren't supposed to get treated like this. It was very inappropriate, and I was embarrassing because the police came up there and spoke with me and they both said that this is ridiculous and a waste of time, I didn't do anything wrong, and I would really appreciate if someone contacted me at you earliest convivence. I gave the time and date so you can the pull video.

Family Dollar Discriminated by rude manager

Last night (2/27/2024) my bf and I went to our local family dollar (322 Valley St Providence, RI 02909) to return a couple items we weren’t happy with(2 shower curtains, and another miscellaneous item) with a receipt. The gentleman that was helping us called over the manager(Thala). This woman who approached looked at my boyfriend and I and then proceeded to speak only Spanish to the young man… and would not even say a word to either of us. They proceeded to speak only Spanish and then she walked away. I began to get aggravated at the offensive and rude behavior of the manager, so I proceeded to ask the young man and the manager who refused to speak to us by saying (can we get our money back now please) the manager then responded with no we cannot accept this item back because it has been opened.

Per company policy of family dollar, “ Family Dollar Brands Guarantee: If you are not 100% satisfied with any Family Dollar brand product, simply return it within 30 days to any of our stores with a receipt for an exchange or full refund.”

This manager said this while smirking because she clearly was I was getting upset. What she didn’t know, while she was speaking to the young man in Spanish regarding the “[censored]s” as she called us…. My boyfriend speaks Spanish fluently…. And understood everything they were saying about us. You have to love the idiocy of some people.

After this incident, even though this store is convenient to go to, has lost a customer due to the ignorance of this one manager.

Family Dollar Customer safety

I spend about $500/mo at this store as it is located near my neighborhood. I'm 62 and a retired executive. The store workers here do not care about elders safety! I really don't even think they care about themselves as the consistently demonstrated subsistence modum of behavioral standards / etiquette are highly lacking. I can truthfully say this because several times I've complained about drugged out and up disrespectful aggressive customers. The managers on duty do nothing. I spoke directly to this a few minutes ago and this kid at the register simply turns into a total [censored] show. I REFUSE will not return to this location for even a roll of toilet paper and posting this same review on the neighbor site. It's either their drug dealers or their buddies but it certainly isn't the money represented to pay their salaries.

Family Dollar Product and service: tower firework speaker $18.73 w/tax

I purchased the speaker on 2/14 at the Family Dollar on Division st. Parkersburg wv 26101. I am a faithful family dollar shopper but after tonight i think i'm going to have to take my business somewhere else if the situation isn't taken care of. I tried the speaker out its very distorted and not very loud to be a tower speaker. This was a gift to my son for his birthday he was not happy with it either so i was returning the speaker to get his money back so he could buy something he is happy with. It was almost 9pm when i tried to return the speaker. i walk in and the key holder was rolling her eyes and saying omg not right now. I don't think she knew i heard and seen her. So me being me i walk in all happy and chipper and say hey i have a return and i have my receipt. she said all i could do was exchange the speaker for the same one since the box was open. I paid cash for the speaker so why cant i get cash for a refund since i have my receipt. She said it was policy and she has complained about this to corporate for years and they have done nothing to accommodate the customers on returns. So I am not a happy customer and i don't feel that your policy is correct. Thank you I would like my cash refund.

Family Dollar Checkout Line

I have been shopping at the Family Dollar for years and didn't like the way this Store Clerk disrespected me! There was an accident sneeze because of my allergies. She handled this incident that I had rabies! I covered my face and was socially distanced from her! The product I bought was coved in plastic so there was no reason to make this a big issue! It was my fault that I sneezed but there was another way this Clerk could have handled this matter! She gave me a paper towel but the way this was handled was not right! There were people behind me in line knowing my personal business! If this is going to be an concurring problem I was not shop at this Family Dollar for a long time!

This is just a minor problem. It was just and accident and the Clerk was trying to protect herself! The quote was covered in plastic!

It is not your fault you sneezed, sometimes these things just happen and we cannot stop it. She was going way overboard. Some people are stupid about these things. Like the cashier.

Family Dollar Amazon gift card

I bought a Amazon gift card, at the Gadsden Alabama store April 5,2023. When I get home there was no money on it. It said it had never been activate. I called the store and was told I had to bring it back, with some time, and they would see about it. I had eye surgery, and went blind in one eye for several months. Then has shoulder surgery and could not drive.

Family Dollar Store Manager at Store #07125

This morning around 9:06 am, I purchased 12 items worth $12.65 today. One of those items being a 3 pack of crest toothpaste. The toothpaste rang up at $6.25 but the price on the shelf was $5. I told the clerk and we both went back to see where I got the toothpaste to check the price. I told him if it was in the wrong place I would not worry about the $1.25 difference. He did determine I was owed the $1.25. To make it easier, I told him I would go get some paper towel so he would not owe me anything. There was a difference of $0.25 but he told me not to worry about it. He gave me my bags and I left out the store.

I got home and noticed he did not give me all my bags, my plates were missing. He should have given me 2 bags but he only gave me 1 and I did not notice until I got home. I went right back to the store. One could say that was my fault for not noticing he did not give me my other bag. I would have accepted that but the male clerk got smart with me. It's not my fault you left it. I told him he was right but he also did not give me the bag that he had to see that I left. There was not a customer behind me. Why didn't he put it behind the counter to give me an opportunity as a paying customer to see if I would come back and clam it?

Why didn't he try to catch me at the door?

I accepted the fact that i left my bag, ate the cost and repurchased the plates. But his attitude and telling me I would argue over $1.25 referring to the toothpaste from when I was at the store the first time. That comment was unnecessary! He is rude! I shop there often because I live in the area. I have heard him talk bad to his employees at the store before. Today when I mentioned I would like to know how to submit a complaint a complaint on him the female clerk agreed. So that tells you I am not the only one that believes he is rude. The male clerk's name is Chris who happens to also be the store manager.

Desired outcome: Have a conversation with the employees regarding the store managers attitude, rudeness and unprofessionalism.

Family Dollar Overcharge on a product

I bought a 2 L Sunkiss orange the price was $1.75 when I got you the cash register the price was $2.25 from the cashier which was the manager about the price of the Sunkiss and ask them to go and look at the price they sell, but I was informed that they were not going back there to look at the price because they weren’t going to change. Family Dollar Extremely, rude, and unprofessional management and staff.

Subject: Unpleasant Experience at Family Dollar on Agnes, Corpus Christi, Texas

[Family Dollar Customer Service],. I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I received at your store located on Agnes in Corpus Christi, Texas, on January 29, 2024, between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm.

My experience can only be described as a retail nightmare, primarily due to the behavior of your cashier and the handling of the situation by the manager on duty. The atmosphere in the store was charged with extreme rudeness, and I felt compelled to bring this matter to your attention.

The cashier, from the outset, displayed a level of frustration that was palpable. Despite my efforts to maintain a civil interaction, matters escalated when I encountered issues with the tap-to-pay method. Regrettably, instead of offering assistance, the cashier openly expressed her frustration and accused me of freezing the payment machine.

Seeking resolution, I approached the manager, only to be met with a response that was nothing short of disrespectful. The manager proudly declared that employees are trained to mirror the tone of customers, which only served to escalate the tension further.

To my dismay, the manager refused to finalize the transaction unless I refrained from what she perceived as "slick" remarks along the lines of "this is a bit much" This encounter transcended a mere transaction; it became an experience marked by the worst treatment I have ever endured in a retail setting. The ambiance of the store felt more like a hostile neighborhood rather than a place of business, and the behavior exhibited by the staff fell far short of the standards of professionalism.

I trust that this complaint will be taken seriously and investigate the matter thoroughly. I believe it is essential to address the conduct of your cashiers and managers to ensure that other customers do not have to endure such unpleasant experiences in the future. Which I will add, the reputation of that star is scarred by much of the same treatment to other customers. A customer who was behind me, approached me outside and said she would be filing the complaint on my behalf if I do not, she said she is tired of the way they treat people there.

Thank you for allowing me to bring attention to this matter. I hope for a swift and satisfactory resolution is met some how, some where.

Family Dollar No carts and when I use a trash bucket they told me I had to buy it

I go into Family Dollars to get contractors trash bags the heavy ones, 3 juices, 2 pops, heating pads and a whole bunch of stuff... I cant carry that in my hand, they have 2 carts full of cereal and comforters. They don't have carts as it is and why would they use two carts for crap.. When a paying customer, who comes there everyday need a cart... So I used a trash can... It was too heavy for me to carry... What am I supposed to do... Carry each item to the counter..,., I was told not to come back... Because I used a trash can for a cart... There were no baskets... Every person who work in that store is rude and pissed off... They alway complaining... We got to ask yall if you wanna buy this [censored].. How hard is it to ask us to buy a candy bar... One day I went there and the lady was mad I wanted a cart and locked me and my sister in there because when I asked her for a empty cart... She said it was hers... It was empty... So I went and got another cart... Put my items in it... And she ask for my id and I said no and she locked us in... I was gonna let that go... I just told the manager... They are so angry there... They tell customers to get jobs after they leave because they use foodstamps..., I won't come back like they requested... Dollar general is better... At least they don't have attitudes, it seems like the employees is running thing not you guys or the managers... They wanted me to pay for the trash can and when I didn't... They told me couldn't buy the 75 dollars worth of stuff I had in my cart... I mean trash can... Get some baskets then... Like dollar general... They are always pissed off

Family Dollar Store

I live in Concho, Arizona where we have a Family Dollar store that the community depends on as their main grocery store. The refrigerator cases have not been operational for several months now and a good amount of the community depends on them for frozen foods, milk, butter, cheese, etc. This is a very poor community and to not have access to milk, etc. for the children is deplorable. For some families this is there only way to get food for their family. Is there a reason why the refrigerator cases are not being repaired.

Family Dollar Store not stocked empty shelves everywhere

Hi my name is glenda padgett. I live in freeport fl. I have been frequenting the family dollar dollar tree here in freeport just to look and see what is going on. Nothing on the shelves. Empty shelves Christmas is still out. It’s a shame there is not enough people there to take care of stocking shelves. It is a shame. If you are not going to take care of your store by all means why did you even come here. It looks like you are failing your employees along with your customers.

Thanks for your time do better please shame on you.

Family Dollar I'm complaining against a rude/nasty employee

Greetings

I'm a regular customer of your store (3850 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur, GA 30034) for over 19 years. I had the worst experience. It was 9:35 am Jan 11, 2024. The male employee at the front yelled at me. He stated, "hey dog, you only have 5 minutes. Do you hear me?" This is NOT the way you talk to a 56 year old customer. There were about 7 people in line waiting to buy. I felt embarrassed. I've never been talked to like that by an employee. I did not purchase what I came to get because of the way he handled the situation. I heard him him tell the customners that he hate when ([censored]S) like me come in and stay 30 minutes. I was in the store for about 10 minutes and I had 25 minutes because you close at 10pm.This was NOT customer service! I was going to get dog food and laundry detergent, but the way he treated me I decided not to purchase. When I was leaving the store I asked him why did he embarrass me in front of the customers? He stated, "Oh, that's how you feel?". As I was leaving he immediately came behind me as if he was going to attack me. I was trying to go out the door and one side was locked. I asked him to let me out. When I was leaving, I said "Jesus". He said.,"you damn right". He SLAMMED THE DOOR behind me. I would like a written apology from him. If not he should be fired. it's not safe to come into your store especially when you feel threatened. I will NOT be shopping at your store because of how he treated me. I appreciate the new manager because she really cares about her customers. Please have someone from your corporate office contact me.

Family Dollar No cigarette sales

Was getting ready to go to cashier , heard cashier pull down cover over cigarettes display They used to lock in between sales but it's been unlocked for months now Was 8:05 Pm I asked for a pack of Eagle 100's and cashier told me cigarette sales are closed I said nothing left few items on counter and walked out Sitting in my truck in parking lot ready to leave Same cashier walks out and smoking a cigarette . Feel like she was to lazy to open display and just wanted to smoke

Another thing i would purchase more But you can't take a cart out the door Poles affixed to carts Losing slot of sales due to i won't try n carry bunches of bags As other customers iam sure Staff is short and they can't leave store to help people carry bags

Common courtesy would be to explain why Cigarette sales are closed I've shopped at this location for years and bought cigarettes past 9 pm This store open till 10 pm She wasn't only sales associate in store she only handles front register

Family Dollar The location at Clinton and fruit in Fresno CA

A manager by the name of EVELYN refused my brothers reciepted return Jan 3 10:12 pm as the store closes at ten we went in at 951 to grab groceries and to return about 6 of the 13 items I purchased for him that he didn't need for. I purchased these items on the first of January and they were unopened unless he tried one or two items which I believe you're entitled to not be satisfied with the product this lady completely overstepped her interest in assisting a customer and it was more interested in the nine every return to elaborate when I first walked to the register I just heard her say she was only going to be able to return a few items and she separated them and then when I got the groceries and came back to the register I seen her nitpicking at each item and stating comments for why she wasn't going to accept anything but one item he was really uncomfortable especially because the store was closing 5 minutes prior to my transaction not sure if her belittling a person was fulfilling but she held me up she held him up and also I believe he kept one of the items that she wouldn't return. I did not argue the fact I just figured I'd get her name and position and let corporate know but honestly I'm livid and I want something done as far as my return being processed and also I think she should be

demoted as she stated she was a manager my email is chavonne.[protected]@yahoo.com I am hoping it to be contacted about a resolution

Family Dollar Fan above front door of store in Warrior Alabama January 3, 2024

Most companies are in business to draw customers into their stores, not run customers away. I do not see the need for this strong blowing fan at the front of your store in Warrior, Alabama, As you open the doo it almost blows you back out the door. I spend quality time fixing my hair. I do not want my hair blow off my head when I enter a store. I asked if there had been complaints about this fan...they said a lot of people have been complaining. I just drove out of my way 25 miles to the Family Dollar/Dollar Tree in Hayden, they have no blasting fan above their front door. People told me they do not go to the Warrior Family Dollar/Dollar Tree because of this major issue. Removing the fan or unplugging the fan is such a simple fix, but that's your call, maybe you don't really want the business.

Family Dollar Daylight light bulb

I purchased a four pack of daylight led light bulbs and other items, but I was overcharged $6.00 on the light bulbs my total charge on the light bulbs were $12.00 however when I went back to reprice that same item it was scanned at $5.25 when I confronted her about the error all she did is smile with no explanation. So, to cover herself she had a male employee to change the price even though it was scanned at $5.25. So, I took a loss. The store is located at 3631 sullivant ave columbus ohio. Purchased on dec 30th 2023, the store number is 02007, the receipt number [protected]

Desired outcome: woul like the money that was over charged to me to be returned.

Family Dollar Employee attitude

I had asked an associate to look up the price of a pack of paper plates ( no price on them). She looked at me like I had asked her to run a marathon. She never said a word. I thanked her. She never replied ! I finally said , " Look, I'm going up front to check out anyway. Do u want me to just ask the associate up front?" She handed them back and said, " Yeah".

This is not the first time people have dealt with this manager. Yes , she's a manager.
