I have acquired services here on and off for several years. The advocate that I worked with is no longer there. I was approved for LASSA thru her several years ago where my divorce was initiated, but I never went through with it and went back to my kids father. Im April 2020, I sought out for services again. This time their help in applying for legal aid was denied. The legal aid group never sent out a formal letter stating this and I do not know why they denied me. DFOF requested that I attend their group classes and to search for a job. I was doing those things that they required and I was told that their legal aid would look at my case again to see if they could take on my divorce case. This was denied and the advocate told me that if I had $2, 000 saved up that I could retain a lawyer that they worked with. The advocate asked and told me to use my stimulus check in which people received during the pandemic to retain my divorce lawyer. I find it offensive and rude that this was advised of me because I have no home of my own nor do I own anything to my name and it seemed like DFOF wanted me to hire an attorney with what little money I had. $2, 000 is not alot of money and I already spent it paying off my credit cards and rent owed to my parents since 4/1/2020. This kind of treatment has made me feel hopeless in getting any help from a domestic battery help center and I am contemplating on going back to my abusive husband. I was approved before and I was hoping to be approved again for legal aid representation. I did ask the advocate to ask about me being on some kind of waitlist, but it seems hopeless. I believe it was wrong to assume that I use my small amount of stimulus check money when that is for essentials.

I am being bullied and threatened at the shelter that I went to to find a safe place, I am not receiving help from my advocate and I'm being made homeless on Monday October 29th 2018 because they claim I have not been following my service plans even though I have done everything I said I was going to do and then some and they have not done a thing for me. I called the outreach center to talk to my advocate there and all they did was send an email to this shelter to the people I have a problem with ( I am having problems with my advocate and her supervisor as well as the residents). I am disabled and it took me 2 hours to get out of a regular bed because of pain and they put me in a bunk bed that takes me now over 2 and a 1/2 hours to get out of because of pain. So not only will I be homeless on Monday like they've swore to me they wouldn't do to me but I am being bullied by both staff and residents. I am in their everyday telling them I have tried to do my chores but could not finish because of pain and they get on to me and not the people who are physically capable but are too lazy to do their chores. I am appalled at the treatment I had received when I thought I found a safe place. So just when I thought I could breathe I'm terrified again I would just appreciate it if somebody could punch me in the face so I would be a little more comfortable and and least know I was going to be abused! Why is it that it is OK for people to bully me and they get help, but I do nothing but help people and do everything I say I'm going to do and I am getting kicked out with no where to go and no help from anyone? They are also kicking me out knowing that I have no form of ID and cannot get the form of ID renewed until November 1st at the very earliest, I will not be able to apply for housing until the 1st of November and the 3rd of November as well so I cannot even get into a shelter because I don't have any ID. They promise to be they would not make me go homeless but that is exactly what they are doing and they are taking every chance of survival away from me. I don't understand how you people can sleep at night, let alone claim that you are helping people!

This place is a disaster. Receptionist is rude and not all the way there, no one calls back. They discriminate against clients and tell them counseling isn't available due to wait list but let other clients through. The employees have been known to take donations home with them. They aren't friends of my family at all! Do not donate to this useless bunch of people.
