Aspire Card termination of credit

I too received a notice of termination for my aspire credit card. In 6 years, I have never been late for a payment, never! Yet they still canceled my account, which doesn't look good on my credit.

I asked them to lower my interest, only thing I got was "No!"

This just doesn't seem right but I don't know what to do to address the issue. Any suggestions

Aspire just did this to me. Cancelled my account for no reason I was always on time and paid five dollars a month in maintenance fees. I was always early in paying. I contacted them and they would give me no reason why other than it was due to inactivity. So because I didn't charge anything on my card every month you cancel my card and damage my credit. I don't think damaging a persons credit score for no reason is not right and should not be legal. We need to do something about this company!

My account was also closed more than two years ago. I continued paying my account. I even made double payments but the balance continued to go up. Is this real? How can do this to consumer? Is there any help for us?

I cannot believe this company was allowed to ever exist. They stated harassing me the day I turned 18! I had denied to open a card, but they called me every single day multiple times until i was fed-up and said yes. I knew being 18 and having a card wouldn't be a good move, but I opened an account just to get them to stop calling. Their customer service rep was also extremely rude and pushy. Needless to say they also cancelled my account for absolutely no reason, I was making all my payments! This month I will be done paying off my bill and after that I will take a lot of please in burning that card into molten trash. Also, they have NO PHONE NUMBER for you to call listed on their website. I was only able to email and of course they have not replied.

yea - they screwed me over as well and i am pissed! i had great credit with them as well - never late on a payment - paid the full balance every month...they closed my card and now charge a monthly charge and $9.95 every time you make a payment - there is no phone number on the website to call...so if you want to make a payment you have to go through all their fees...i'm reporting them to the better business bureau...they are scam artists

I too was given a termination notice that they were closing my account. When I called and asked them why the guy told me that they were closing all accounts but I was still responsible for the balance and that they would continue to charge the $10.00 a month even though they closed the account. I had never been late and had the card since 2004. Kept a low credit balance but just wanted to have another good trade line. Well they screwed me too and it does look bad on your credit as a closed account with a balance.

It's true. The entire program was cancelled. What could have been better would have been cancelling the account as a consumer request before the program cancellation deadline. Slight difference on the credit report but a consumer requests looks better.

1. Aspire Credit is completely shutting down - it has nothing to do with you

2. Aspire credit cards were a collection agency scam - they pretend to help you restart a clean credit history - but in reality - they used it illegally collect a debt that may not have been yours in the first place. Or was to old for them to legally collect - so they send these offers out and the first payment goes to re-aging an out of statute of limitations debt.

Aspire Card Termination of Account

I received letter in the US Mail that my Aspire Card account has been terminated - - my account was in excellent standing with CB&T and never any late payments. My credit limit was $ 1, 000.00 and as of 1 December 2008 it is zero.

The letter tone indicates a belief the account was terminated and I was at fault.

However, upon calling customer service - I am informed this was a "management decision" and ALL Aspire Card customers were terminated.

This is a horrible way to be notified - -

As I have been maintaining and rebuilding my credit rating and score - I do not know if this account termination will hurt my credit score with a negative remark.

My email: [protected]@aol.com

Aspire Card Termination letter

I received a "Notice of Termination of Card Program" on 11/24/2008. This is all well and good, but since this might adversely affect my credit score/rating, I called and asked for a reduction in my APR which is a ridiculous 24.75%.

The of course said no, a heavily accented no, and tried to just get me off the line. I demanded to speak with someone higher up and they referred me to an account specialist. His answer again was no.

If they are going to abruptly cancel my account which shows on my credit report, which at the moment is excellent, then they should have the courtesy to lower their rates.

I filed a complaint with the FTC and am about to do so with the BBB.

I will also be contacting all the media outlets here in Los Angeles. In scouring the Internets I have found hundreds of similar situations. I think with the credit crisis this might must make a credible news story.

I'd like to see the CEO of Aspire accosted by a film crew.

I too had an aspire card that was terminated with no rhyme or reason. Payments always on time and always paid more than the minimum amount...its bull and something should be done about it.

Aspire card is just taking advantage of us. I have the same problem, paying my monthly dues but it seems like my balance is still the same cause of the high interest.

I am on work assigment in Europe and received termination on aspirecard also last year. I emailed them explaining that they should not charge me interest on repayments as they terminated the contract without giving me notice and therefore I incurred problems as I counted on that credit while I was in Europe. Since they dodn't keep to their contract, ie I can no longer use the card they should stop the interest and $4.25 online payment charge as I have no other means of paying the bill and I don't want to pay that charge.

NO REPLY TO DATE!

I really think we should all stop paying as they messed our credit score by closing the account and file collective complaint.

I sent an email to the Atty General of my state and also to President Obama...I have been paying the charge card on time for the past 3 years with no missed payments..my biggest problem is now getting a VAILD address on who I can send monthly payments too! All I want to do is pay my bill..How can that be so hard? Send me a bill with the address that I should mail the payment too..

I just got the letter and am steamed. I lost my REAL credit through catastrophic illness in 2004, and had to get an Aspire. These rotten ### just don't care. A sudden closing will adversely affect my mediocre credit rating. So I called and demanded that they send me a letter stating that this is NOT my fault, or else they can sue me for any further payment.

ASPIRE CARDS ARE A COLLECTION AGENCY SCAM ANYWAY -which is probably why they are closing shop.

Collection agencies offer this card to collect debts that are no longer legally collectable - you make that first payment and you restarted the clock on the statute of limations and probably did not know it.
