Ancestory.com Taken by Ancestory.com

I tried a 14 day free trial from Ancestry.com. They offered a month membership for 22.95 and the website made it look like it for just one month. I soon realized they were automatically charging my CC a monthly fee of 22.95. I called and cancelled and received a cancellation number. Seven months later I discovered they were still charging me. I couldn't find my cancellation number (I later did) and the agent cancelled me again. She had no record of my previous cancellation. I asked for the charges for August (2012) to be removed and she said she couldn't. I gave the first cancellation number to the next agent I called, and he found it and said the account was reinstated the next month. I did not reinstate it. I do highly suspect that my membership was automatically reinstated without my knowledge when I revisited the site looking for any deals they might be offering. I was told to email support to ask for a refund. I asked who I might go to if I didn't get satisfaction. He wouldn't tell me and when I jokingly said "a lawyer?" he said, "yea". Their business tactics and poor customer satisfaction is sub-par and they are just really good at ripping people off. I plan on making complaints to BBB and the State Attorney's Office if I don't get a refund from them. I'm really angry about this.

Ancestory.com SUCKS

This website absolutely sucks. it is not worth your time or effort. you sign up for a free trial and without notice they scam you $314.32 without warning and with no guarantee for a refund! I am a college student and now can not pay for my classes because I am short. All because I wanted a free trial. I know I should have never put in my credit card number that was a huge mistake but now I am suffering GREATLY! If anyone even thinks about signing up for this website make sure you have 300 bucks to spare. And if you do why don't you hit me up with it instead. I am desperate need for money for college.

For all the people who have been charged by fraudulent withdrawals from bank or credit cards, PLEASE contact your bank or Credit Card Co.

They are responsible for releasing unauthorized funds. They will refund your money and charge it back to the disreputable company!
Good Luck,
T

Ancestory.com charged my credit card

I ordered a program from Ancestory.com on the 18th of this month. When I went to use the program they say they didn't have record of me and then in a later email they said the account was under my husbands name which I never gave them but somehow they had. The third time I emailed the said my password was wrong so I finally called them and after talking to two people that said that my account was never paid for I called my cc co. and am now writing to you. My ClickBank order number is #93DQ66S and is dated 3/18/09. I request that you either call Ist Bank of Omaha and repay my account or I am going to get legal help in this matter. I want all records with Ancestory purged as I have given them my cc number several times and I highly suspect fraud and will do whatever it takes to prove it. I will be calling my cc again Monday to make sure my account has been credited or formal charges will be filed naming Ancesstory.com and also ClickBank. I have copies of all email sent by you and by Ancestory to back up my claim.
Email me when you have credited my account. I DO NOT want to see this letter on you web site as others are posted of I'll file a evasion of privacy charge too.
Awaiting a reply,
Patricia R. McCann 1st Bank of Omaha card holder
