Broken Sound Productions contacted us in June, 2007 about filming a segment for our company that was to air as part of a program called "Great Escapes." We paid them $7, 500 to shoot the spot and air it on E!, CNBC in Luxury Hotels with cross-promotional commercials on MSNBC, FOX and the Weather Channel. They sent someone out to film in Dec, 2007. That gentleman tells us that he still has not been paid and has expended a lot of wasted effort trying to collect. We never received our finished spot and it has not been aired. They eventually told us that they no longer had a relationship with CNBC Luxury Hotels. Since that was a key component of why we had purchased the media, we told them we wanted a refund. They refuse to refund the money. In the interim, as per the other posting, they have shut down the office in Boca Raton at which they originally operated, moved to a new address in Gainesville, FL, which is also now shutdown. Their website and e-mails are no longer functional. Another gentleman named Scott supposedly purchased some portion of the business in April, 2008 and now calls it BSP Direct. He is located in Boca Raton, FL. He said that at that point Broken Sound Productions went out of business. He has had several other companies call him to try to track down Larry, David and/or Eric. The individuals involved are all obviously related and there seems to be a common streak of criminality and lack of ethics running through their blood stream. I have found out that David, Eric and Larry are brothers. Stephen is the father and a lawyer and he is the Registered Agent for Broken Sound Productions. I too have filed complaints with the BBB of Florida and the General Attorney's Offices of both Illinois (where I do business) and Florida. My lawyer is in contact with Stephen Warm. He has also tried to lie and claim that the spot was aired even though both Eric and Larry (each of whom I reached at various points) told me that the spot had not been aired and that they didn't have the capacity of airing it since they were bankrupt. I know that they are not in fact bankrupt as Larry Warm has continued to do work for BSP Direct as an independent contractor and received payment for it.

I've been in contact with Doug, one of the other posters, and they're trying to put pressure on him to stop posting any more negative comments. Steven Warm, the father, sent him a threatening letter, something fairly incoherent, but threatening to sue him for libel. They have a new venture now that they've posted on Facebook called Excursions TV. How bold can you be. I've started a "Discussion Board" there trying to blow their cover and save anyone else from being scammed by them. It would be great if any of you who were scammed would do so as well and save others from grief.

Here are other companies that I've discovered that they own:

Product Placement Group Incorporated Larry Warm

Florida Marketplace Sales Inc Larry & Stacy Warm

Cardinal Productions Inc Larry & Stacy Warm

Home Shopping Group Inc Eric Warm

East Shore Enterprises Inc Eric Warm

Waterview LLC David & Larry Warm

If you haven't done so, please file a complaint with the General Attorney's Office in Florida, as well as in your own state. The more complaints they receive, the more likely they are to investigate. It helps to print off and include all the complaints listed here and at [redacted]s.com and any other websites where complaints against them have been listed.

Oh, and in case you weren't aware of it, if you do reach them and demand a refund of your money, Steven and Larry Warm consider that to be extortion. The same applies if you threaten them with filing a criminal complaint. They have an interesting way of interpreting the law -- if they breach a contract and don't do what you paid them to do, that's your problem. If you ask for your money back, that's extortion, even though it's your money. Obviously, they feel that if you're stupid enough to give them money you're not entitled to the product or services you paid them to deliver. Someone needs to go back to law school and learn what constitutes a breach of contract and what the rights are of the contracted parties.

I spoke to Brad Wilson at SimTek Fence yesterday afternoon and together we discovered that Broken Sound Productions filed a 2008 For Profit Corporation Amended Annual Report on 12/19/08. The gist of the amendment was that their new principal place of business & new mailing address are now Steven Warm's law offices and they removed Eric Warm and Larry Warm as officers/directors of the company, leaving only David Warm. They are still an active corporation even though they claim to have sold the rights/business to Broken Sound Products South, LLC. As the previous poster noted, there is a registration for Broken Sound Products South and the Managers of the company are listed as Brian Cregar and Scott Kother, with Brian as the registered agent. Part of the continued scam seems to be that contracts are still being signed under Broken Sound Productions (that's the contract that Brad Wilson signed) as late as August, 2008. However, Larry Warm, who's been his main contact, now claims that the deal is with Broken Sound Productions South and that he takes no responsibility for the fact that the footage hasn't been aired as contracted, pretending that he's the victim in this circumstance and that Brian Cregar is responsible for executing the contract.

It would be interesting to know where Steven Warm got his law degree as he seems to have trouble coaching his sons in understanding who is contracting for services and what their contractual responsibilities are and when exactly you become a crook. If you are an officer of a corporation at the time the contract is signed (which is what Larry was in August, 2008 since the amendment was not filed until Dec, 2008) and the contracting party is Broken Sound Productions and not Broken Sound Productions South, LLC, then you are a party to the contract and not Brian Cregar. The same situation exists for Smart Finds Marketing. They signed a contract with Broken Sound Productions. However, since the Warm family is busy hiding behind so many crooked companies that they can't keep their scams straight, Steven Warm (the lawyer) sent Doug Menzer from Smart Finds Marketing a letter claiming that he contracted with BSP South when in fact his contract was with Broken Sound Productions, just like Brad Wilson's. He went so far as to claim that BSP South co-opted Broken Sound Production's name as a way of saying that he and his sons were not the contracting parties. That's really interesting as one of the Warm brothers has been the key contact for each of us as the contracts were getting signed and all of a sudden someone else is putting out contracts under their name without their knowledge? How dumb can you play? Or how dumb do you think we all are?

Eric Warm contacted me a couple months ago upset about these postings and tried to convince me that he is an honest business man. I listened to what he had to say and decided I would withhold judgment until I saw whether he would actually do what he promised me in compensation. Of course, there was no timely follow through. But, I was happy to hear that our postings here have actually had a negative impact on their ability to continue to do business under their new business entities. So, if nothing else, we've saved others the sort of grief that we're having to go through. As I mentioned before, please continue to file complaints with the Florida Attorney General's Office. It's a good option to get them shut down permanently. It costs nothing to file but a 1/2 hour of your time.

I was wondering what their new solution was to the problem that their names dredge up all of these negative associations now that we've all been posted up our unfortunate experiences with them. Several months ago I was getting calls and e-mails from Eric wanting my assistance with clearing his name and then all communication suddenly stopped. Well, we have to give them credit for coming up with creative solutions to their problem -- hiding under someone else who doesn't have anything tainting their reputation (or at least not yet). There's always another willing victim out there who won't do their homework around these guys or be bamboozled by them that they are the victims of all of our "unfair & unscrupulous" postings. If you're that bad a judge of character, you deserve what you get in the end. There's too many of us posting the truth of what happened to us and we're not hiding under pseudonyms or aliases. We're upfront about our identities as we have nothing to hide. Anyone is free to contact me and I will validate what happened.

Dear Complaintsboard.com Moderator-
My wife and I recently purchased a home from Eric and Jill Warm in Gainesville, FL. In this thread, Broken Sound Productions — Eric J. Warm, David J. Warm, Larry J. Warm, Stephen Warm are all Scam Artists and Unethical, user 'boogerbot' makes reference to our home address and even advises others to "Nail this scammer to the wall, or better yet, pay a personal visit."
I would greatly appreciate if you could remove this home address from your message board as Eric and Jill Warm no longer live there and my wife and I do not want angry visitors paying a personal visit. Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

Sincerely,
Craig Fletcher, chf1975@gmail.com

Our business just received two of these calls in the last week, one pitch for 19k and one for 5, 900 both out of Boca Raton FL both for TV shows that don't exist. I'd love to get off this calling list, but if you put out a press release you are vulnerable to attack. I'd advise all business owners to ignore their promises and flattery.

There are a number of production companies based in Florida that all claim to be able to put you on television. Almost all are "pay to play" shows that air on obscure cable networks or odd times on secondary network affiliate television stations. Over the last ten years our company has been approached by at least a dozen of them and we always say "No." We are usually contacted after our company has just published a news release.
The production or coordination cost runs from $5900 to over $20, 000 and almost always with the promise that we can use the footage or segment for our own use.
My advise is to research who they are, where the show is going to run and to call television or cable stations to verify what they say is true. My other advise is to spend your money on real media.

Got the call today! Alyssa from West Media Productions offered inclusion in "I Gotta Have That" tv show to be aired this Spring for the low price of $5, 900. She sent me to www.igottahavethat.tv and left me her number: [protected]. She was on our website as I was speaking to her, referencing our products by name. Nice touch. It is difficult enough to start a new business without these people interrupting my workday and dangling a false opportunity in front of us. We work so hard around here, we want to believe that one day we will be "discovered" by a producer who loves our product and be given an opportunity for big media coverage. Perhaps one day it will actually happen.

If someone calls you from any TV show and demands money to "put you on", beware. You're the one being put on: legit news organizations, shows, producers even freelancers have strict policies in place regarding the acceptance of anything that even looks improper. Not only can they not accept money, samples are often returned! Real pros are often in a rush; they won't keep you on the phone describing your potential audience and gabbing about "your spot". Google the name of the so-called company and the word complaints and see what comes up. Finally, Florida is notorious for boiler room operations like this so if the area code is anyplace there, you were warned. Shadow production companies like this should be shut down permanently and their owners prosecuted.

Same here-- we received a message from a woman named Marie at [protected] ext 105 claiming they wanted to film an "educational segment" with our CEO. This was following a multimedia news release we sent out about our CEO's new book. So glad I Googled her number. Won't be falling for this scam. Thank you!

I was contacted today by Sally Merando, segment coordinator for the national television show "ive got to have that- they were doing an educational segment on What's for Christmas. The number she called from was [protected] and she told me to call her at [protected] ext 105. What made me suspicious was that she called my home number not my work number- I'm a publicist. I did my research and found this complaint. Clearly they are up to no good. I posted the scam on facebook as well.
Thanks!

Our company was scammed as well. We were contacted by some woman who said she searches for businesses like ours to air on their show "Weekend Makeover" They stated they would film a 30 second spot about our product and present it in some home that was being made over. What lured us in was that they stated it would be aired on the WE network and would reach 1o million viewers. Well if it sounds too good to be true it is. We paid them 2500 and they said they would film the spot with our product and the show would air in about 5 months. So we waited and they kept stalling so we figured something was up. They never filmed anything and weren't able to produce a finished product for us. After a year we reported them to our credit card company and was able to get our money back without a fight. Shortly after their site, www.brokendownproductions.com was off line. Lucky for us we paid by credit card. These guys are chumps and we'll gladly help anybody with the same problem we had.

We were contacted by Great Escapes, Ashley Hagler, in mid 2007 regarding our vacation villa in Jamaica. We were promised big things by the folks at Broken Sound ... a lot of what many of you have already posted.

We paid over $7000.US for what was to be a 2-3 minute spot to be aired a minimum of 3X's on some of the same stations as has been mentioned here already.

We paid up front... what a dumb-dumb-dumb move! What were we thinking!?

We were told that a camera crew would come to Jamaica & interview us... set a script & do the filming. We elected to be there too for the filming so everything could be just perfect. We went ahead 10 days early so we could get 2 of our 4 bedrooms updated with new curtains, linens etc.

The film crew (what a joke) showed up and it was just one man. There was no scripting & we had to pretty much just answer questions the film guy was asking us. He had to come back the next morning & finish up the filming of 2 bedrooms but he did accomplish that then he was on his way. All this time everything had been going ok with Broken Sound.

Then came the time to start looking at the footage, editing the words that Broken Sound wanted to put with the shots etc. THis is when the nightmare began for us. We were communicating with a Jeff Abrams of Broken Sound. Everytime we would ask a question he would totally ignore it and then send us an eamil a week or two later asking us if we were ready to approve the scripting... this went on & on & on & on until we began to lose our cool over it... that was when they put Brenda Sultan on the account & she started off apologizing & saying that the buck stopped with her & that she would see to it that all our concerns were met & that we'd move forward... yeah right. It was more of the same from Brenda Sultan as well.

We really began to get worried when Broken Sound wouldn't send us the raw footage that they promised to send... this came up because they were asking us to approve of a script without knowing what footage they were putting with it. THis normally wouldn't be a problem but with the communication issues we were having with these folks we didn't want to agree to anything without being 100% sure that the script was going with the right footage.

Finally we got the raw footage... but it was missing the two bedrooms that were shot the second morning & one of those was our Master Bedroom! How could we move forward on something that left out the master bedroom of a 4 bedroom guest house!? It took MONTHS for them to get the rest of the footage to us.

Somewhere along the way Larry Warm started communicating with us. He played the same game as the others did... taking weeks & weeks to reply... not being in the office or not taking our calls... getting irritated with us for not moving forward, yet they would not address our concerns & just continued to ask us if we were ready tok approve! Hell no we're not ready to approve anything... we'd been asking for months for this or that to be changed & they kept making promises yet delivering NOTHING and the conversations were getting more & more heated & about this time Larry is becoming very condescending to us & it's clear at this point that we are no longer being treated as the valued customer... they already have our money so it was ok for them to treat us in a way that they never would have if there was still money owed.

By the way, the $7000.+ was more than what we ever set aside for one years worth of advertising & this really, really devastated us. We are only a husband & wife team that owns & manages their own vacation property... we do very well at it & really believed this would be wonderful for us & our vacation rental bookings.

So to date, we have raw footage that we cannot use... we have nothing else from Broken Sound & we were promised that our segment would air in the fall of 2007. It is now mid 2009 & we still don't have a thing from these people... cannot get them to return our calls or emails & it is clear to us that we've been ripped off.

We feel so stupid at this point & would really like to see this group pay for their transgressions. We would at a minimum like to have our footage that was promised us that is usable & seriously we are due some money back... at this point we have nothing and really believe we are due a 100% refund.

We have not contacted our Attny. General or the Florida Attny. General but will be doing so shortly.

We are just sick over this & it's a real hard shot in the shorts to be out this kind of money... treated badly by the people we handed it over to & now the realization that we will probably never recoup any of our losses is just mind numbing.

Oh, yeah, the funny thing is that they convinced one of their "friends", Chris Willis to quit his six figure job to invest with them and be their main go to guy. I worked with BSP for several years shooting videos in my region of the country. Everything went great. I was paid on time. I was paid the full amount due. No problems... until our last gig a little over a year ago. We shot the footage, sent it in just like we had done numerous times before, sent the invoice, and... nothing. I talked with Larry several times last year and was told they were having a rough time but that I would be paid. Then I started seeing these posts. It's hard to believe that the guys that treated me so well for a couple of years would do all this, but here we are. Now I'm a little paranoid about doing business with anyone I don't know! I'm thinking about working with a company called Channel Three Productions (Platinum Television Group), but the shows listed are strangely similar to the old BSP shows. "Great Taste", "Health South", "Todays Family". Anyone heard of these guys?

Scammers because they called your company? You post this because you received a phone call? People standing in front of an office telling people what type of computers people use and you calling people "scammers" because you received a phone call- that's what these websites are all about?

If you have any real questions- call the phone number posted and ask for REAL answers. Don't just type a bunch of crap about people and hide behind names like nano_speed and bubba. Call like a real person and ask a real question.

The offices are in the Haile Plantation Village area (next to the fountain) in Alachua county, just outside the city limits (a couple miles) of Gainesville, FL. Across from a pizza store and the fountain area of the village, is Haile Video Group (formerly Broken Sound Productions, which previously moved from another Haile Plantation location a few blocks away). Check this out. A ficticious name (possibly like Haile Video Group) is supposed to be registered with the state of Florida. See if you can find the names mentioned here.

On the door at the former Broken Sound Productions is lettering that reads "Haile Video Group". On the door one office over is a sign that reads "Steven Warm, Attorney or something to that effect. The Florida Bar Association lists a Steven Warm in Boca Raton.

Haile Video Group has a location in the village area in Haile Plantation. I thought it a bit odd that they were using old crt emacs, or are they Imacs. If you need photos, let me know.

Our business was also scammed by the Weekend Makeover lie. Larry Warm claims that he separated from Brian Cregar and Broken Sound Productions. Is Brian Cregar a real person?

I am willing to spend time and money to participate in a lawsuit against these individuals to make sure it doesn't happen to others.

Looks like they are drawing a crowd to watch how they scam people: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=50312408995

Hopefully these businesses in Philadelphia, Boston and Toronto are going to get what they are paying for...

Apparently, (in the link below) they are going to "air" The Independent will be featured on the Style Network channel Friday, March 20, 2009 at 5:30 a.m. and locally on Sunday, March 22, 2009 on Fox 29 at 3 p.m.

Maybe the Warm's are using all of our money including DeVos Custom Woodworking who in the link below "claims that Broken Sound Productions and three members of the Warm family defrauded it of $12, 000 by falsely promising to feature it on a TV series to be called "Weekend Makeover, " in Hays County Court, Texas."

Wow...interesting to hear all of this! We are an independent production company and BSP hired us to shoot some footage for a spot they were doing. We received only half of our payment and have been attempting to contact them for about a year now to get the rest of our money. Every time I called I was bounced around to various departments and voice mail systems to no avail. We finally gave up and wrote it off as a loss.
