I called your brake check located at 3825 Stella Link Rd at approximately 1:56 p.m. on 10/8/2023 and spoke with the manager () regarding the vehicle for Moses Beverly. I was greeted by the manager and we spoke about the current problem with her vehicle and I asked the question about the dates Ms. Moses had to bring her vehicle in for repeated service. He...

Brake Check Check my car in for thermostat replacement

Check my car to brake check. Spoke with Christian, Jeremiah, Trevor at the New Braunfels location off of 46. I went in for a thermostat replacement because my car was overheating. We called the day before they said bring the car in at 7:30 so we can get it looked at right away. They kept my car for nine hours never contacted us until we had to show up for them to tell us they didn’t even touch our car and then they needed a master mechanic to change a thermostat. It is my work vehicle. I’m out of work lost wages about 600 dollars for the day and now it’s costing me a rental for $274 and I still need a replacement thermostat had to take it to another shop. call me [protected] Christina dentinger and David dentinger

Desired outcome: I would like reimbursement for everything I lost for the day and my rental amd would like to speak with someone I’ve never treated so poorly at this location.

On November 11th my wife took her car in for an oil change. When it came time to pay, the attendant told my wife there was an issue with her oil plug and it need to be worked on. My wife informed me of the issue and I ordered her a new oil pan and not to drive it unless absolutely necessary and then only if she knew the car had oil in it. Later that day she...

Brake Check Damages done to my Corvette

I took my car to get brake repairs, rotors, and balance. I specifically told them not to drive my car. I was told they test drove it at 75 mph+, to check the balance. This was not necessary at all. when I went to pick up my car yesterday the car was overheating and has no power. They refuse to repair the damages incurred while the car was in their possession. They defied my request to not drive the car. caused damage to the car and now refuse to take responsibility. I do not recommend this establishment for any kind of work.

Desired outcome: I want them to pay for the repairs for the overheating and an apology for driving my car in writing.

Brake Check Brake Job on Van

On May 17th I took my van into the Pearland Texas location to have my brakes done. Less that 24 hours later my 12 year old son and I were coming home from school exiting the freeway 288 and the brakes went out. My son and I were shooken up. We needed to take it back to brake check in Pearland Texas so we drove very very slowly. We noticed under the van the brake line had been severed. We were told they used an old part which in turn caused the line to be severed. We were told it would be fixed the next day. That did not happen so we had to rent a car for a week. That’s how long it took to get the part. The Brake Job was $700 and the rental was over $500 at Avi’s. My 12 year old son is terrified to get back into the van and frankly so am I.

I feel confident this isn’t right.

Lisa Baldin

Desired outcome: At the very least the cost of the rental car! The brake line being severed because of an old part is not my fault. There should be nothing on your shelves that could have caused such a potential catastrophic outcome.

Brake Check Ruined my engine and refuses to pay to fix it

I recently went in to have my oil changed at the Brake Check off of I-45 feeder near Rayford/Sawdust on April 15, 2022. While there I mentioned also having my alignment looked at and brakes.

While there, I was told I also needed my rotors resurfaced and told to come back in 2-3 hrs. I left the shop at approximately 1:30 pm that day.

At around 5pm my fiancé and I went back but were told the car wasn’t ready. At approximately 6pm, an employee named Dylan explained I would need new rotors in the back and would hear clanging when I hit the brakes.

I said I would come back on Saturday when they opened and have them replaced because I was going on a trip and didn’t want to worry about anything.

I left the shop at around 6:27pm, after they were officially closed.

Not far from the shop we heard the clanging when we braked, just like Dylan mentioned, but then the car began to idle hard and shake a little.

A block or so from my apartment the check engine light also came on.

On Saturday morning i left my house early to get there by 7:30 but noticed that it was different getting my car to go when I pressed the gas.

I explained that to Dylan when they opened and was told they’d look into it.

Around 10:20, I saw that someone was taking my car for a test drive. 40 minutes later my car was not back. I was told it was still being test driven.

Fast forward to 11:28am and I was told my car stalled and it was in a nearby parking lot but that mechanics where trying to figure out what went wrong. Dylan personally apologized for not coming forward and making me wait for over an hour while knowing my car was non-operational.

About 20 minutes later, Dylan came to tell me my car “turns over but will not start”. I explained that I brought my car in without any issues on several occasions to which Dylan gave multiple excuses and even told me, “Sometimes these things happen”.

I was told the mechanics were looking at my car but when I left the shop to walk to my car I found it had been abandoned in a parking lot near the shop.

Shortly afterwards, I had it towed to a dealership that had previously worked on my vehicle and was later told my engine seized up from lack of oil.

It will now take thousands of dollars to replace my engine. The dealership has reached out to Dylan and given the estimate to him at Brake check but did not hear back from him. He was conveniently not there today.

After speaking to a different individual at Brake Check my mechanic at the dealership was told by a representative of Brake check that my car is not worth that much and therefore they will not pay to fix their mistake.

I drove in with a working car and now the company is refusing to do anything to remedy a very expensive mistake. I will be reaching out to corporate and anyone else who will listen until this is resolved.

This isn’t right and Brake Check knows it.

Brake Check 1 day service turned into 6 days no results

Jesse promised same day service. I paid $1700 Saturday so he could pay for the part (line leak near rack & pinion) By Tuesday 4 days later he had not ordered the part. Monday he said it was coming in from Houston, Tuesday he said he ordered it locally from O'Reilly and it still wasn't there by 12:30 pm. On Tuesday. This has caused a tremendous hardship on me. He has over charged me and replaced only the radiator for $1700. I was told the entire rack and pinion could be replaced for $800 and he is charging me a fortune for just the line. He has refused to let me speak to anyone else to see what the charges are.

Desired outcome: Refund for everything. Remove the radiator and refund the charge. The car is still in the shop .

Brake Check Service

I was referred to Brake Check by Discount Tires to replace 2 broken tire studs and all lug nuts on all 4 tires. I arrived at 12:56 pm for a 1:00 pm appt. I did not get attended to until 15 mins later. The manager was with a customer in the Bay Area. At approximately 4:20 pm, the manager came up to me to let me know they were having problems replacing the tire studs and to top it off they broke a third stud. He recommended for me to go to the other Brake Check on Bandera/1604 cause they just couldn't remove the tire studs. Besides now missing 3 tire studs I noticed I was also missing 5 lug nuts. He screwed one back in and then said he did not want to screw in the 5th lug nut because it was not going in easy. Also, he said he did not want to screw in the 24 lug nuts because they were not screwing in smoothly and did not want to damage the thread on the screws. I told him I had noticed that but Discount Tires assured me it was because they were new and had the zinc coating. But, judging by the damage already done, I decided to take the lug nuts back to Discount Tires. I noticed later on I received an email about the service I received but since I was busy going to DT and then the other location, I wasn't able to leave a bad review. At 10:30pm, I went back to my emails to send my review but now had an email that I had cancelled my 1:00 pm appt. I was there for 3 hrs and 20 minutes…time I will never get back. I think I was purposely cancelled to avoid me adding my review of their service. This is horrible!

Desired outcome: The job would’ve been complete in a less amount of time.

I purchased an unlimited front end alignment in 2017 for $144.00 and was not allowed to use it. The reason for the purchase was my having to drive over bad road conditions which was causing the front end to go out of alignment. The manager at the time of purchase stated that I could bring the vehicle in at any time that I felt the car pulling to the right...

Brake Check brake job

My 17 yo daughter got her brakes fixed at Brake Check(Pearland). Manager, Chad, promised her that he would order and put a part that was broken on her car free of charge. We called to follow up several times and on the second call he told us that his manager told him he couldn't do this. Chad needs to honor his word and do what he promised. Now he is not returning our calls. This is very bad service and my daughter is calling the news station about this if no resolution is reached. She is driving around in an unsafe car.

Brake Check no receipt or itemization of what was done and observed to my vehicle-janelle corp office does not respond

I went yesterday to have ya'll inspect work done by Dave's automotive, they resurfaced my front 2 rotors. Ya'll said they were fine and I still had plenty of brake pad left. They explained, that it is possible, the strange feeling (tension) when I put on the brake could be the pads readjusting to the newly re-surfaced rotors.
5 minutes before I pulled into the lot, my air conditioning stopped cooling. The technician put my car back to ground level, they lifted the hood, put their foot on the gas to accelerate in neutral and my engine was knocking / rocking front to back in a 5" sway. There were around 3 or 4 guys that witnessed this. This shop is most likely going to say that had nothing to do with my air conditioner going out and I have been having loads of trouble with them and most likely am going to have to spend a boatload of time putting together a factual history of what has gone down with my car, they have been working on it since July 3. Can you please list the mechanics who witnessed this shaking and the actual description of the visual rocking of the engine front to back 5". The shop made me drive it back to their shop and gave me a loaner and shuffled me out the door. They absolutely do not care. I am most likely going to have to go thru the attorney generals office complaint, so the mechanics names as witnesses as to what they saw is very important. Of course do list why I was there, a check up on the rotors/pads.

If you have any questions feel free to call me.
Thanks so much for your help,
well, some lady named janelle called me 2 weeks after i sent this email, brake check NEVER gave me a receipt, the lady never called me back. I had to explain the issue to her 5 times.
