BioLife Plasma Services deferral

I've e been a loyal donor for a couple of year until recently when I was deferred for my elevated heart rate. I have done everything that was asked of me. It took months of appointments and phone calls and was ultimately deferred due to my medication, propranolol. The doctor, w/o examination, told the nurses to tell me that this medication was not an acceptable solution and to get something more permanent. When I asked the nurses what is acceptable they replied "Not that."
I would like this issue resolved in a more professional manor, immediately, and I look forward to your reply and resolution to my problem.
Sincerely,
Maya Sinclaire

BioLife Plasma Services compensation

I was told prior to my donation on the phone by a manager that I would be considered eligible for the bonuses for new/returning donor since it was over 6mo since my last donation. He told me to make sure I enter the promo code just in case so I did, however upon completion I did not receive what I was told and am very upset..I might as well have went to another company. Cheaters never prosper.

I was in last week and tried to come back to donate and I couldn't cause I gave the wrong date of when my tattoo was done and tried showing proof of when it was done but no manager was around to do so. Tried calling to make sure I can still show proof and cause I couldn't show anyone my proof the day I was in y'all deferred me permanently without giving me a chance to show you.

BioLife Plasma Services bathrooms

Bathrooms at this place are terrible. Always out of toilet paper and trash on the floor. You can tell an employee and it still does not get taken care of. Being a medical facility, you would think things would be checked more often. They need someone in charge of keeping an eye on the bathrooms and be ready to restock when needed. As for getting ahold of someone on the phone is a complete joke! You can leave several messages but no one ever gets back with you.

BioLife Plasma Services deferred donating

This is a new center for Biolife and I was a founding member on opening day. First of all, that day we only went over paperwork and got physical, no donation. Came back to donate twice and in those 2 times, was stuck twice wrong, re-stuck once, and then infiltrated. I came back today to do my 3rd donation and since I was prescribed a new medication since my last donation, was honest and told the staff. Since I hadn't been on the med for at least 30 days, I am now deferred for 30 days per their company policy and will also be screwed out of their special bonuses. I took the paperwork to my doctor they gave me which they require before I can donate again and my doctor's office said I need to re-do the bloodwork I had done 2 week before and set up an appointment to fill out their form. It costs me $100.00 for my doctor's visits, so can't do the form and now probably can't donate again, all for being honest.

BioLife Plasma Services plasma donation

I received a huge hematoma while donating and the nurse doing it took the tube out of my arm and forgot to shut off the pressure cuff so blood flowed everywhere. It has been a week and it has gotten much worse and very painful to the point i cant really use that arm for anything. Went back in and they didnt have much to say at my local center. When i asked if they would pay for my visit to doctor to have it checked out they said no. I went to doctor and they said i may have nerve damage and are concerned about large clot in hematoma so now i need to go get an ultrasound so they can properly evaluate it. Will biolife pay for this because ky health insurance has a high deductible.

BioLife Plasma Services Negligence leading to improperly trained employees

My name is Matthew Aaron Walker. My date of physical in the Casselberry BioLife was 8/05/19. My phone is [protected]. I have been donating Plasma at BioLife Plasma Centers in the Orlando area for the better part of a year and a half. I started off at the Casselberry Clinic and transferred to the clinic in Ocoee on Good Homes road. The transfer should have been a simple 3-5 day shifting of paperwork in the system. Not my words, but the words of the person at the front counter representing BioLife when the transfer was made. I elected to take the required physical at the Casselberry location so that would be done and out of the way and I could simply start giving when my paperwork was cleared at the new clinic. That is where the trouble began. A brand new trainee was left on the front desk by himself with no supervision. BioLife is opening up so many new clinics in the area that they are behind in training new people and the ones that are in training are receiving shoddy and insufficient training. The untrained, new employee, Amir, was manning the front desk when I arrived. He questioned me on two or three things that I knew to be correct. This was on 8/05/19. I knew he was wrong and uninformed, so I asked to speak with a supervisor, which Amir also challenged. Eventually I was told to go to the computer and start filling out the questions that would precede my physical. I was a little confused because the first question was about my pregnancy. I answered the question, thinking that the surveys were general for all sexes. I finished the survey and got a precheck for my blood components and then was allowed to give blood. When I got to the new clinic they informed me that I had filled out the questions as if I was a female. I was informed by one of the supervisors that this was a big deal and that if the FDA found out that they could be in big trouble. She then told me that she was having to fill out a huge report because of the gross negligence of Amir. I was forced to take another physical which they did compensate me monetarily for, but it honestly felt like hush money. Since the move to Ocoee I have experienced more inept business practices. I have also learned that the computer systems for the same company don't talk to one another. My donations got all screwed up. Some of my personal information didn't transfer over. And not once while this was going on behind the scenes did anyone bother to call me. When Amir sent me over to take the questions that day, the supervisor ended up stopping me in the middle of the questions. I followed their lead and as a result of not finishing the questions was deferred. But I didn't know that until I showed up for my next appointment. These people are dealing with sensitive medical procedures and issues. I have no faith that they are handling them with the care needed. When I thought everything was fine, I showed up today to donate and was told that my protein was off. I have been subjected to 2 protein tests since I arrived a few short months ago to this clinic. I don't have any faith that is correct, because the employees at this clinic have no idea what is going on from one minute to the next. They act like they are working at Starbucks and simply pumping out drinks, rather than doing sensitive medical work. As soon as I send this, I am filing an initial report with the FDA as well. Important things keep on falling through the cracks and it is inexcusable. The only saving grace in any of this is Jacy Cizek. She is the one dealing with all my complaints, but I feel that this deserves some outside attention before someone gets sick or worse, mortally hurt because of the inept practices and miscommunication going on in these Plasma Clinics. The other point of contention is that the clinic phlebotomists are running themselves ragged, because of the greed of BioLife centers. The clinics are always crowded with new donors. There is no order to any of the chaos. I sat across from one man that was stuck by a new person and at one point Began to bleed out onto his pants. That was a BioLife negligence and the gentleman was told they would not be able to return his blood and he had to be deferred for a few weeks. They did offer to pay for his dry cleaning. People are standing around waiting for 20 minutes to get a bed and sometimes 30 minutes to get hooked up on the machines. And there is never any explanation, only apologies and thanks for being patient. Well I am through being patient. Something has got to give. I have witnessed on several occasions, entitled patients coming in and making requests as to who will stick them for the day. Is this a business or a choose your own adventure boutique? Safety is an issue when there are not enough employees to cope with the demand of new donors. For God's sake, even Disney closes the gates when the parks are full. I am through being frustrated every time I walk into BioLife. These practices have got to be evaluated by someone in charge and fixed. They can't keep treating like cattle and expect to get away with it.

BioLife Plasma Services donor denial

I was in the Onalaska WI branch today9/23/19 as a new donor. I was denied because I had pelvic congestion syndrome & had coils put in those veins. Now those veins are at a normal size instead of being varicose. I talked to my doctor immediately after, questioning this. His response was there are no reasons why I can't donate plasma & faxed a statement to that affect to that branch office. Now I am being told that it is FDA rules by the person who did my physical and that I have to talk to a manager in the morning. Today was my third, THIRD time at that office which is a 40 minute drive 1 way. I do not have the finances to be wasting my gas on these trips. I believe what Bio Life is doing is very beneficial for us all. I am wanting to donate to help find cures & other stuff. I also am in need of the financial assistance it would give me. I am signed up under that new incentive plan of 500$. Will this get straightened out so that I am still able to use that program when I donate? My doctor says their is no reason, the person doing my physical couldnt find any information on it when she tried. I feel the statement of the doctor that did the procedure should be sufficient evidence and statement that I am able to donate plasma.

If this still isn't sufficient enough and you still deam it necessary to deny me I would like the documentation that you are basing the denial off of please.

Thank you
Michele Fetting

BioLife Plasma Services not being able to donate

My brother has been donating for extra cash... So, I thought i'd give it a try... So, I scheduled appointment, then had to reschedule it 2 or 3 times... So, today (sept. 20, 2019 @ 1 pm) because of my work and also being nerves about it... So, today was my day, to be a big girl and donate... But, had to sit after being checked in... Waiting for 2 managers to assist me to a office... Where they said I couldn't donate and couldn't tell me why! But, sat there for 20 minutes while they played on there computer... Just to give me a piece of paper that didn't say [censored]...
I'm really pissed... I took half the day off from work... And, still have no answers...

BioLife Plasma Services Customer service

Went to call this location today, only wanted to ask a simple question on whether or not it would be ok to donate at this location even if I went to another location about a year ago. In the midst of talking I wasn't warned I would be put on hold and got put on hold for a brief second and then they hung up abruptly on me. Immediately called back and was told I would be put on hold. Waited for 15 minutes and no response. At this point I was already close to the location and walked in to ask them since they couldn't talk to me on the phone for some unknown reason. Went in and was kind of greeted like I wasn't really welcome and they had a bit of a snippy attitude with me and even to one of the donors inside because they weren't sitting at the right spot near the enterance? The way the lady talked to me also not only confused me but she had a bit of a weird attitude like she was talking to me in a street lingo? I do not know how to describe it but it wasn't clear nor was it really informative or professional for this line of business. I don't intend on going to this location and felt so disrespected like my time was not even valued or welcomed. I really think this store should be taught better on how to respect their customers who come in let alone even talk to on the phone. What had me also upset was when I came in no one was on the phone with anyone so it honestly told me that they didn't feel like answering my phone call. Will not be returning here.

BioLife Plasma Services associates

I have been going to BioLife for the past six months. Everything has been decent. Until recently, the associates have kept me waiting once I am seated. I literally see the employees walking around while I have to wait 20+ minutes for someone to hook me up. It's ridiculous. What should be an hour appointment turns into 2+ hours because of how apathetic they are. I even missed a college class I had because they were so slow.

BioLife Plasma Services every single time my husband gets to platinum status, they have a reason why he can’t donate.

Four times my Husband has reached platinum status, which pays out $90 week for the 2 weekly donations. No issues what so ever, then suddenly once he reaches platinum status...they say something is high or something is low. Every single flipping time, so at this point I'm convinced it's intentional...to bump him back down in status, so that they have to pay you less. Do any of the others reading this, run into this same problem? I am curious if this is an issue, at all of their locations?

BioLife Plasma Services computers were down at my location and I was unable to receive my donor fee.

I went to the Biolife Plasma service location at my appointment time and the computers were down. I am unable to donate today and will not receive my donors fee. I am upset about that the computers are down and I am still not awarded my fee because it is not my problem. I should still be paid since I was there for my appointment. That's what good customers service would do!

BioLife Plasma Services website, app, and customer service

I set two appointments for this week through the app. I've tried to go on the app to reschedule those appointments all week and the app won't let me sign in. I tried to reset the password and it states that my user ID does not exist yet I have had emails sent from BioLife to that very same address. I went to the website on my desktop and the website won't even load. I call the phone number provided and choose the set appointment option which just tells you to set the appointment by app or online. I called and left a message twice asking for a call back so I may reschedule and NO ONE has called me back. I called the corporate phone number and it gives you several options, I choose the option I need and it just hangs up on me. This is awful customer service.

BioLife Plasma Services app

I tried using the app recently to schedule an appointment, and it logged me out of my account and won't let me log back in. I tried clicking the forgot password link, but it is telling me my email is not associated with an account, even though it is and it has been for 2 years now. I'm not sure what to do because I can't sign in to schedule an appointment on the app, and the entire website is down and not working either.

I am experiencing the same thing. When I was in yesterday they said their entire system is down. I don’t think there is a remedy timeline yet. I’ve tried calling the centers in Ankeny, Iowa and West Des Moines, Iowa but it says the operator is unavailable.

BioLife Plasma Services Customer service, mishandling of patients blood samples

When I first decided to come and register to be a donor at BioLife I had a problem with this location for this company which has just opened here in Tempe, AZ. From the first time I stepped in the door, alot of the staff there is women, and I mean about 95% of the staff are females and they are so entitled and rude acting to say the least. So I've donated in the past at a couple different centers never had any issues. I am a very healthy male, and they first of all [censored]ed my fingers way too hard when I was going through the screening process which is right before the actual donation process happens. Then they got an attitude with me because I said I'm concerned about the fact that they weren't giving me straight answers when I asked questions about MY blood or any other concern I might have. They act like bunch of bitter people who don't like they're jobs even though they just opened. I then called to speak to the center manager and that's when Lauren she said her name was kept giving me the run around and so that's when I decided to reach out to corporate and submit a complaint and I will be following up. And I would never recommend anyone to this center or this company if this is how they operate regularly...
