Big Lots gazebo

I purchased a gazebo and was told that in order fir me to take it home I had to dissembled it myself because it took the furniture employees 6 hours to take it down, I figured if that was the only way fir me to get it I'll have to do it, so me and my daughter started dissembling it ourselves I asked them if they had tools and they gave us a screwdriver and a stool we had been there for 3 hrs then the store manager told them to tell us he would do it in the morning after it fell on us smh then they want to offer us a $50 gift card

Big Lots previous employment

I worked at the Big lots 919 north shepherd. Store 4237# I was the DTS lead. I was forced with no choice to walk away. This store was the most horrible hostel work environment I have ever experienced. My store manager by the name of Dexter Beverly was the worse leader and manager. He treated me horrible. Took advantage of my situation. He treated me so unfairly. Anytime I came to him with a problem. He would never do nothing. There was a time he decided to force me to use my first week of vacation days. I never requested them or put them in the system. He would leave me off the schedule for days at a time. Knowing I was a SINGLE mother. With 3 children. He basically did what ever he wanted to do. I was told I was not allowed to go pick up my children from school. Because I was a supervisor with keys to the building. Mind yall before I took the promotion he told me he would work with my schedule. A stalker by the name of Nancy. Witch I have videos and proof of what I am writing. My store manager let's her mistreat people so bad in the store. Dexter never tells her anything at all. Hes ok with her bullying people. I went to dexter many times. Asking him to please do something about her behavior. And how bad she treated people and myself. Dexter Allows her to do it. I was never respected as a manager in that hostel work environment. I called human resources several times. Spoke to carl Johnson. Nothing was ever done. Instead all Human resources did to help was tell dexter what I reported. That cause dexter to treat me even worse. I was THREATEN by Ceclia William. Another cashier in there my days were numbered. And being counted. This was said in a group message with every employee in the store dexter decided to send out. When I called to question him. Why was nancy and cece threating me about my days being numbered. All he said was good questions. I have no idea. It's a heart breaking situation. How bad people get treated in this company. The company dose nothing to help a person besides try to get them out the door. I called the Dm by the name of Ron. Never reach out to me. Or would return my calls. I gave up calling Carl Johnson in human resources. How is it ok for a store manager. To do retaliation and treat a person so bad and be so unfair to a person. And no one dose nothing in this company at all. I will continue to speak up. And hold my head high. I will seek a lawyer and go the legal way with this company. How bad I was treated. I've heard of storys like this in a company. But never throught I would deal with a environment like this. I suffered in this company. Physically mentally, and health wise. One day I went to the dr. I switch my shift with the other manager. Due to my dr appointment. When I came inn i went to the warehouse. And the stalker Nancy. Blew up on me. She told me to give her my keys. I was a single mother. And I might want to think about giving her my keys. I showed my dr papers to the manager I switch shifts with. But ofcourse nancy was so angry. I was told by a cashier name maria. To watch my back from Nancy. All due to me going to the dr. I was threatened so much everytime I turned around. My store manager was aware of it. Never did ANYTHING to help me. People need to know this kind of stuff. I will continue to speak my truth about this horrible store. To help others so they are never a victim like I was. I held on as much as I could until I got fed up of the THREATS I've witnessed dexter the store manager mistreating people badly In front of myself. He enjoys doing that to people. As he knows hes safe with the higher up people. He feels hes untouchable. He has a great big smile on his face when people mention they are calling HR. I also experience sexual harassment by one of the managers. A work environment should never be this way. You should never feel THREATENED. Many times things like this in a work place are covered up. Or people just walk away. Not knowing there rights. I will continue to speak up and let everything in this store be known. I remember at times watching my store manager bully employee's even a guy name micheal with special needs hes let go. Micheal would ride his bike and show up at 5am. No matter the weather conditions. The problem is people do not speak up or think they have rights. My situation I was treated so horrible. I will always speak my story on what went on and I experience for a year and a few months. So please people if you have suffered from a company.. or a hostel work environment. Please speak up and help out others. You never know what a person is SUFFERING from or going through. Thanks

Big Lots employee treatment by managers

Managers do not treat their employees with respect and dignity and they expect way to much out of the employees. They do not show respect they like getting in your face. Also at mandatory they take employees down to the managers office with only 1 manager in the room when there is supposed to be 2. With the mistreatment of employees they have lost alot of employees within the past year.

Big Lots cashier rudeness

Store #4580 7/12/2019 5:16pm. I was purchasing some swimming goods for my kids and they were playing with the swimming noodles I got them. At the checkout, the cashier was yelling at my kids to not play with the toys I purchased. Not once or twice but 5 times she yelled at my kids! This kind of behavior and attitude is unacceptable and I will no longer be attending this store! I believe the cashier was a female named Kimberly. Very unhappy experience!

Big Lots the people

I saw the now hiring in the window I put my application in on line and I've been checking on it but I can never talk to the human resource person or a boss I always have to talk with a store worker that keeps telling me their not hiring, today I called to see if anyone at all has checked my resume and I actually heard the person in the back around tell the person I was talking with(of course it was a floor worker) just tell her we're not hiring.

Big Lots hiring manager

I teach during the school year, and now that school is out I wanted to pick up a second job during the summer. I put in an application at Big Lots. Got the interview, a few days later, got the job. The manager called me Saturday, June 8th and asked me if I could come in on that following Monday and I said well Monday is my official last day with my school for the summer. She said okay that's fine what days are you free? I said I can come in the following day June 11th If that's okay? She said okay great see you soon.

I came in this morning around 9:45 am, the manager came out around 10:10 am and said "What happened to you on Sunday" I said excuse me I don't understand what you're talking about… She said "I told you to come on Sunday to fill out paperwork"! I said no you told me to come in Tuesday to fill out paperwork, figure out my summer schedule and watch a few videos to get me in the system..
She went on saying "Well I talked with my manager and we don't need anyone like you working here" I went on by saying you are very unprofessional and disrespectful and that comment about not needing a person like me is uncalled for! You only told me was to come on Tuesday and I wrote it on the calendar confirming the date and time with you before I wrote it down.

If you needed me to come in and fill out paperwork Sunday you could have just called me and asked.

She was very unprofessional the way she carried herself, and I do not appreciate the way to approached me in front of customers as well as the other employees. Very unprofessional!

Big Lots general manager

I am a current employee at your Placerville CA store.
I want to report my general manager Donovan. He has been telling employees someone's going to get fired to scare the employees he's been rude to employees helping customers. He also SH* talked a brand new employee to a customer. He comes up to employees and asks "why do you work here you only work 1 day a week" He doesn't allow bathroom breaks so you have to hold it till your assigned break because he doesn't condone taking extra breaks. We have lost 1 employee already and 2 more just put in their 2 weeks (I will be doing the same when I find another job) I feel like I'm being bullied as well I was working on the truck deliveries and got taken off with no explanation and my hours got cut to 1 maybe 2 days a week (if I'm lucky) I know there has been other employees who have reported him I hope you guys will look into this matter before you loose a full staff.

Big Lots andover oak full mates bed & andover oak full headboard

On Saturday 6/01/19, I picked up my daughters bed I ordered... Upon loading it, they supposedly checked off on my receipt, making sure everything was correct, & initialed it. On Monday 6/03, I finally pd someone to take on the job of putting it together. Upon putting it together, we realized the headboard was white and not what I ordered which was OAK. proceeded to put the bed together, got halfway done and realized the bed was the correct color, but wrong size, which was a twin... I called the store manager, and she gone tell me I had to disassembled the bed and bring it back.. I told her I was not, because it's their fault because they supposedly had matched my receipt with my furniture, upon loading it into my truck when I picked it up... Customer service was horrible, didn't apologize or anything, I will not be shopping with you all again and I've been a long time customer.. I lost money and I don't appreciate it.. Big Lots furniture

I was in Big Lots shopping one day I seen they had a sale on mattresses about three or four of them was stacked up on the side. The ad said mattresses for 227. Mark down from 499. I contacted one of your furniture salesperson ask them how much do I need to put down to hold This mattress? She told me. I put down the money to hold the mattress. The furniture salesperson put a hold tag on the mattress. I'm on a fixed income so I couldn't pay it all off at once so I figured that would be a great way for me to save and get a good mattress. Periodically I would come in and pay on my mattress. One day I came in to pay on my mattress I noticed that it wasn't still sitting in the place it was I asked the Furniture salesperson where was my mattress they said it was in the back. I ask them will they have that same mattress when I get ready to pay it off and come get it I was told yes. I came to pay the last payment on my mattress and to pick it up the Furniture salesperson went to the back came out with a different mattress that I put my money on to hold. I was told if I wanted that mattress I would have to pay extra money but the one that they came out the back with wasn't the mattress I placed on hold it was a Serta plush pillow top mattress.. he came out with a Serta firm no pillow top mattress that was not the mattress that I had my money on. Now I'm out my money and I don't have the mattress that I paid for or wanted. Big Lots store manager

The store manager Adam Cornell was very rude un assisting with an exchange.he stated to me that he didn't have to anything for me butthe only thing i was doing was trying to get information from him on how i could get the exchange without my receipt. I stated that it was being financed and i could get a receipt from them and asked could he look it up. He told me no he don't know if im paying on the furniture or not and that it looks like someone jumped on it. He a very rude person who is not good in customer service at all.

He was rude on handling the situation.Also i do have a receipt that ill be bringing back through the finance company.If this is not a person that can help with my complaints then you have a nice day.Im not challanged so i completely understand if you don't have a receipt you can't exchange but it's a way that you talk to people and like i said he was very rude for a person working in customer service.It was also other customers that witnessed this man being a straight [censored]!

Before people go on commenting. I should just like to let you all know that this incident made me so angry that I beat up my mother. I already had a bad day. She got on my case and I punched her in stomach. She told me to leave. I refused. I then slapped her. She told me that if I did not leave she would call the police. I did not think that she would betray me like this. The police showed up. Even though I explained that she aggravated me they took her side. She said she was not pressing charges but that I needed to calm down and go home.

Big Lots 3 tier plant stand w cha (product number 810414950)

The product was on sell for $39.20. We asked the clerk for the product, she informed us that the display was the only one they had. She said that she would sell us the display. I asked her will she give us a discount on the display she said no. I informed her that I frequent this big lots often, meaning that I am a regular customer and I spend money here. I think I was treated unfairly because the item was not brand new. Although I was upset my mother really wanted the item so she purchased the used item at the regular price. This happened at 8:35pm. Big Lots need to treat their regular customers better. When I go to target or other stores If they sell you a display the will give you a discount. The employee was very careless as to me being a regular customer. I don't think I will be frequenting this bid lots anymore. I will take my hard earned money elsewhere.

I am complaining about furniture that I Bourget with insurance that anything happens in 3 years just come and change it. Bu unfortunately I lost the receipt but I applied the credit card of big lots and I approved. Big Lots trouble with employee

This employee at the big lots on business 190 in Covington Parish Of st.tammany Louisiana was mean hateful and disorganized at 10:30 am I was going to the bathroom to urine just before I went to the door it was close and locked when I told the employee that she got disrespectful yelling and screaming at me I left and just before I went to the door I urine on myself I went to the washroom I cleaned myself her behavior was heinous and atrocious with special circumstances to try to in shock!

Big Lots living room furniture set

We recently purchased a livingroom furniture set, specifically, a loveseat, couch, & matching recliner, from our local Big Lots store. Sadly, after just one week of use, when my husband was adjusting the handle of the recliner forward, as is necessary to lower the footrest, the screw attaching the handle broke in half, thus rendering the recliner useless. Please be aware that we do not have small children that would have been roughhousing or jumping in the chair or any other such other activity that might cause this to happen. We are an older couple that takes great care of our things, and we had hoped to enjoy this furniture set for many years, not just a mere week! Needless to say, we are quite disappointed, & feel we are entitled to some sort of refund or replacement.

Big Lots fraud/lies

Warning! This place sells used, broken, returned furniture as "new"!

There is a skinny black guy that works in the furniture department who seems nice and honest... And boy, does he play that part well!

I wanted to get a specific color chair, because I couldn't find that color anywhere else, and I asked this guy a bunch of questions regarding the chair, price, and other stuff.
He lied about all of it, including holding the chair for me until I got paid the next day!

I came back in the next day to get the chair that I picked out for him to hold, which he said they did, as long as you came to get it the next day. When I went to go pick up the chair, the same guy looked right at me and said "we don't do that here, it's first come first served"!

I should have walked out right then, but I really wanted that color chair since it was so hard to find.

Once I got the chair home, I noticed it was worn in a couple places and pieces missing.

I was sold a used, returned, broken chair!

They need to rename this place big frauds or big lies!

Beware of what you get there, it is more than likely someone elses broken junk they returned!

Big Lots manager intoxicated while working

I was inquiring about furniture at Big Lots #1718 and the store manager, Brian was helping me. He was intoxicated, probably from the night before still and my elderly mother was so upset we had left the store. He had a very strong odor of alcohol. Big Lots washcloth

On 12/18/18 I purchased a set of white wash cloths and washed them when I got home and my daughter folded them and put them in the bathroom ready to use. I was very surprised when the first one I pulled out had one of the hemmed edges completely unsewn and was nothing but a ragged edge of strings. The tag says 11 X 11, made in Pakistan and to wash before use. Would you please respond?

Big Lots manager would not honor clearance price

I was at your dublin store today! We went to check out we had some candy in our cart which we picked up in the xmas clearance section sign says 25% off where the candy was and there were multiple boxes of the same item on the shelf! Staff very rude very inpersonal would not honor the 25% off even the manager on duty said somebody put it there its not xmas candy. I work retail I just don't get it you always take care of your customer we even took a picture of the sign and candy but I guess they just don't care! Good luck with that store because it sucks no customer care or service!

Big Lots hudson slate swivel recliner

Hello my name is Roxanne. This is my first time EVER making a complaint but after today I knew I had to reach out to someone about the situation I just had. I would like to first say that the day before I called ahead told them the make of my car and asked would the item fit they insisted it would I show up and as expected the item did not fit. So I show up the next day today (12/23/2018) with a bigger car that I had to inconvenience someone else about using and having to bring it back to them immediately to be told by Hannah (furniture store manager) that since her "team sucks at looking" the item I purchased somehow only has the bottom portion but not the top. She called another store and said "yeah so you can go to Glassboro and pick it up" I asked well can't they deliver it to my home or to this location she said no so I then said you mean to tell me you guys don't have delivery for furniture she then said yeah we do but it's a third party and I said well what's the issue. She then looks at me like If I was stupid with her face scrunched up and said "uh it's a third party...soooo you are going to pay for it, or u can just get your money back" I then said well I'm sorry but the item I paid for is missing a whole half and it's not my fault why should I pay for the inconvenience of the stores mistake this was a Christmas gift for my father. During this time of me figuring out what to do she began talking to another coworker who was lounging on the couch laughing and complaining to her about having to work Christmas Eve and that she is over the holidays and that she can't wait to get off so at that point I had enough and said you know what I'll take my money back. She seemed more happy to give me my money back then to help fix the issue in a better way. What bothered me the most was the fact that not once did she even apologized for the mix up or the inconvenience of it all especially now that I no longer can give my father the chair he asked for not even a "have a good night". She made me feel like I should never purchase another item from big lots ever again. I sure hope to hear from someone soon. Thank you for taking the time out to read my message. Big Lots customer service

Store was unbelievably busy and only 2 employees. I feel so bad for them. They had customers yelling at them asking for assistance for more registers to open. I was not able to get my merchandise as I had to get back to work. Do not go on lunch hour I guess. They're we're no shopping carts at all all customers had to go get their own outside in the freezing cold. I feel really bad for these guys.
