Biblesoft One touch discipleship series v 5

I purchased version 5 CD from book store paid $350.00 (windows vista) and had to upgrade to one touch thumb drive because of windows 10 upgrades another $182.83. Through process of time and computer failures They say I have installed too many times. I can no longer call anyone they have no tech support staff.

I have never loaned or sold copies of my software. I have only installed on my own computers. Now I am out. This is POOR business practice.

I'm sorry,

Gayle Payne

Desired outcome: Let me use my software.

Very POOR indeed and not consistent with the company I did business with for years. When they did have customer support, I had the same problem when I upgraded using the One Touch thumb drive. I remember working with a PC Biblesoft tech support person who purged the PC Cache and then it worked. I am sorry I have no details on how to do that. I plan to go to the Geek Squad at Best Buy with my thumb drive and new laptop to see if they can get it to work.

Biblesoft One Touch Discovery Purchase

I purchased the Biblesoft One Touch Discovery program for $65.97 but when I downloaded the program over three-quarters of the Bibles and other reference material was not there in the program. I contacted Customer Service and informed them what the issue was. I uninstalled the program and tried many times to reinstall it with the same results. I was then informed that I had reached the max times that I could download the program. I am running Windows 11 and asked the Customer Service this this prevent all the material from being downloaded -- no response. I had the old program Biblesoft version 5 on my old computer; I just purchased a new one and this program did not transfer over to my new computer. I never had any issues with that program.

Desired outcome: Either refund the purchase price since I do not have the program installed on my computer or allow me to try and reinstall it either by download or shipping me a USB drive to download it.

Biblesoft one touch

I have been a customer of Biblesoft for over 30 years, and have operated various versions of the Study Bible, and then latterly One Touch. I cannot recommend this software - and as it was promoted hard as the only version from Biblesoft that worked with Windows 10, I am appalled at its buggyness. My previous version of Study Bible worked far better than One Touch.
It not only hangs up over and over again - almost everytime I scroll, or open another window etc - but the pernicious thing is it deletes my personal notes - notes I've built up over the extensive years I've been with Biblesoft. I lost valuable work time and time again, when One Touch would crash or hang up, reopening the application only to find my notes were missing (and on checking the folder they are stored in finding the file had gone). Thankfully I had backed up my notes, so the loss was not catastrophic. And now I back up every time I write a note as a precaution.
Do not buy this software. While it is rich in features, operationally it is a disaster, and the programmers who wrote One Touch should be ashamed.
I could say more - about the annoying ribbon that runs along the foot of the application etc. But I think I've said enough.

Biblesoft my pc study bible v5 professional now works fine with windows 10

I have been reading for over a year how my V5 Professional PC Study Bible will not work with Windows 10 or will work poorly. It did work bad at first (like for a year), and I had to keep clicking on an error message like 50 or so times before it would load. But it would have initially cost me around $600 to upgrade to their One Touch. I have had PC Study Bible since 1980s in seminary, and was feeling a bit abused by the money they wanted for their upgrade, even at later 20% and 60% off. The later discounts make me wonder how much the program really cost them and how much profit they were making (lots?). Nobody asked for a new overhaul of the program or the financial hit. In my opinion, this was a bad business decision on Biblesoft's part.

Good new is that my program suddenly started working flawlessly about two months ago, and I believe that it may be due to a recent Windows 10 update. No more hang ups at loading. All my program is there and working great. I am glad that I didn't send these people my money, and am sorry for those of you who did. I would never send these people another penny of my money.

Biblesoft one touch pc study bible

Do not waste your time or money with this company! I had been using versions of their software since 1992 and loved their product. But, when I had to get a new computer, which runs on windows 10, I had to upgrade again. It took 15 days to receive the thumb drive after numerous unanswered phone calls and emails. Then, the program failed to operate.
After loading, it gave the message "pc study bible has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Technical support is nonexistent with this company. I tried to reach them by phone and email for 5 days without response. (before you spend any money, try contacting technical support by phone or email and see how long it takes to get a response.)
They finally responded after they were contacted by the attorney general. Then, they lied and refused to make their program operational. (see attached photo of their response to the attorney general. I never posted anything on social media about this until now.) I did not want a refund, because I only wanted the program to work. If the program had worked, the $243.59 cost would have been fair.
The new personnel running this company, kathi kampa & susan carrichner are dishonest and are a poor representation of what this company used to be.
Do not waste your time or money with this company! Find another bible software, because this company and its products are not what they once were.

Biblesoft one touch mac version

Something has gone terribly wrong with this company. I switched to the Mac version with the One Touch — what a joke! When it loads on my MacBook Pro it looks like the screen of my 1980s-era Mac Classic. It does not perform well, cannot access all of the areas I could on the older version, a totally useless program. I am out over $300 for my upgrade and the few times I have gotten through to a real person they have been useless. No offer to refund, no offer to help, no concessions, no help.

Biblesoft customer service

Biblesoft has had something go terribly wrong! I first purchased PC Study Bible in 1997, as a DOS program on 3.5 inch diskettes. I have been with the company & upgraded several times over the years. I purchased lots of add on programs. In early January my hard drive crashed. I have not been able to get everything to work properly again after reinstalling the program from the disks I have. I called Biblesoft several times since January leaving voicemail messages during the daytime hours, and emailed both business and technical services. They NEVER replied by phone or email. The only contact was an attempt to sell me a $700 upgrade (described as a one time $59.95 special) & refuse to honor the lifetime voucher they sent me. Each reply on this sale I have received has someone elses email correspondence included. It's a mess! Save yourself the headache - go with LOGOS

Biblesoft one touch

I purchased the OneTouch upgrade in December for around $260 because it was supposed to be the only way the PC Bible would work on Windows 10 in the future.
I received One Touch on a thumb drive in late January.
I deleted PC Bible 5 and loaded on One Touch. It works very slow and has frequent crashes.
I have left voicemails and sent emails with no response.
I called again today and just got the recording over and over.
I couldn't reach anyone when I entered the extension number.

Biblesoft - biblesoft and windows 10

Biblesoft required upgrade to different library due to stopping support on several of there libraries. Then an immediate update to One Touch in order to be compatible with Windows 10. The costs are so high it is though I am being required to buy Biblesoft 3 times!!! Although I have been a long standing customer with their top library, I have no app access.

Biblesoft great product very frustrating lack of service

I started with I believe their first product back in possibly the 80s and presently have V4. I trying to help a young christian to purchase their Win 10 compatible product, it has been one issue after another both with a stalling website/server and getting decent communication from them. They list a toll free and main number but no one ever picks up the phone or calls back. Emails are getting responded to about 25%.

Biblesoft One touch

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with
All they want to do is sell their product. there's zero support zero customer service and the product is not what they say it is . Run from this company and don't purchase anything, you will be very much disappointed and out money. The last thing this company should call itself is Christian. Poor quality software, very poor quality the software you get on the internet that does the same thing is far better than what you will get from biblesoft

Biblesoft One touch

I spent thousands on resources for the PCBible 5.0 and 5.1 with the promise that version 6 woukld soon be released. Version 5 never worked well, but resources (add ons) were advertised and I purchased them with the confidencce that the company would keep it's word and provide an update on which all my books would work. Suddenly, a new version was announced that was not an upgrade but an entirely new software that I would be forced to to purchase with dozens of resources I would never want at an outrageous price, If I did not spend over 500 dollars, I could not use my owned resources on my Windows 10 computer. I only want the new engine and the resources I have purchased, but that is not allowed. I feel deceived and victimized by a supposedly christian company. My purchases over the years are now thousands of dollars down the drain. I desire either a refund of all my purchases or an upgraded engine that will allow me to use them. One of the most dishonest companies this pastor has had contact with.

Biblesoft Life application study notes

I paid for the study bible notes software and it won't work with windows 10. I tried to contact them and all they accept is e-mails. Do not answer phones. Despite the fact they claim to have excellent customer service and will call you back.

In summary, technical support and customer service has not been responsive and neither has Customer Service. I have called them at least five times in a two plus week time span and at no time have I been able to talk to anyone. They haven't called back either as a result of my many messages. They have a record of putting out buggy software.

When you call them, you get a message about their "Excellent" Customer Service and about a prompt reply. They seem to be in denial that they have significant problems with their software!

I contacted the BBB and BS e-mailed me back and said contacting them would not do me any good. I got an e-mail from someone stating she was the President and that I should quit harassing them.

I must state that this has been an awful experience with Biblesoft. I purchased their most recent software when I purchased a new computer with Windows 10 and now the Version 5 will not work with the additional software I purchased.

So after less than a 5 months my software was worthless, I purchased the LASN in June (2016) and was gone for the summer and when I came back and tried to get it to work it would not. I wanted to explain this to someone on the phone but they refused in an e-mail to even call me - said in an e-mail did not want to argue with me.

They also refused to either refund my money or update me to the new version for free. I found them unbelievably calloused, unreasonable, and difficult to deal with.

I state that I encourage would-be buyers to stay away from Biblesoft.

I agree with one who stated that it is not hard to sink hundreds of dollars into Add-on versions and study software only to be forced to purchase their new version because none of it will work unless you do. I think that I, like most people who purchase Bible software, are a bit reluctant to hold a company to account for a bad product or services that sells Bible software, of all things. But perhaps Christians should hold their fellow Christians to a higher standard, not lower, especially when it comes to business and things that enter the public arena. It's really a shame to feel the need to speak out like this, but I still am finding it difficult to believe the way this company treats its customers. And I was dealing with the very top person of the company.

I am sure that Biblesoft will respond with the name calling, such as bully
like they have others who simply want a refund. Not giving refunds for products that do not work and then desiring the customer purchase more from them is foolish. The problem here is not on the customer end nor is someone a bully because they expect someone in a company to do the right thing.

Biblesoft One touch professional series

I have been a Biblesoft customer for over 20 years. Starting Spring 2016, we were told that we MUST upgrade to the new software for it to continue to work. I had upgraded to ever version since version 2, so I was ok with that. I purchased the software and at this point have thousands of dollars invested in add-ons and software. Walking away would be very costly for me. I waited over a month to receive the product and right from install had issues. I am running Windows 10 Pro and exceeded the recommended requirements. The software has been buggy, crashes and falls short in every area. I've contacted customer and technical support to no avail. I was offered a refund and told to go back to a previous version that no longer is supported or works. That is NOT a solution to the issues. I've offered to help fix the issues and even offered them to remotely access my computer to see the issues first hand. I've simply been told there are no issues and no fixes in the works.

I continue to receive upgrade notices every other week even though I have upgrade and I am frustrated that they refuse to address issues that other also have had. I could have gotten my $800 upgrade refund after spending thousands in previous version, but then I'd need to spend thousands more to go to another program. Beyond frustrated.

At this point, do not purchase the Biblesoft OneTouch software. It is buggy, crashes and simply is inferior to other products. I've attempted to fix the issue, but I just get a canned tech email. I've test beta products for other companies like Microsoft and nothing is as buggy as this program. It is feature packed, but the basic workings of the program don't work. The Not Responding happen often and frequently.

Continuing to send "please upgrade" emails when I have and you refuse to fix known issues is a slap in the face. New products are only as good as your customer service and that stinks!

I have not used OneTouch, so I can't comment on its bugs. I did not buy the hype about version 5 not working with Windows 10 since I have installed it and used it on Win 10 without issues. I have, however, developed a method of installation that does not have the problems related to older add-ons. My problem is that while I have invested about $2, 000.00 in the software, I am now retired and can no longer afford such expenditures. When OneTouch was released, I was told that v 5 would no longer be supported and any add-ons I had purchased would be incompatible with OneTouch. I felt this was a blatant ploy to squeeze more money out of the customer base. I am not surprised by the lack of customer service; that is usually the first thing to go after new management comes in. I will keep using v 5 since it works fine on Windows 10.

I agree with all the complaints I've read. I thought it was only me. Tech Support and Customer Service is non-existent. And recently, after Hurricane Michael, and the internet was down, I realized the program will not open without internet connection. In addition, they have been advertising the mobile app as "coming soon" for more than a year, which was the primary reason I upgraded to OneTouch. I have been a loyal customer since version 2.0, and used to brag about PC Study Bible, but no longer the case. I do not believe this is a Christian company, and by their fruits ye shall know them. Please someone with ethics buy this company and turn it around.

Yes, horrible. Like the rest, I've been a customer forever and was nagged into One Touch on 2-6-18. What a terrible program and no tutorials! Really? (They say they are working i=on the tutorials? Isn't that something that should be complete upon offering a new version?) My frustration is to the point that I will just stop using it (which has been extremely limited because of the difficulties) and loose the upgrade dollars I spent. Talked with customer servive a few minutes ago and she really didn't know how to use it either, specifically saving notes. She offered to set up an appointment to talk with tech for a half-hour. Tech should be available when you call in, even if you have to be on hold for a bit. At the prices they are charging they offer very, very little guidance and support.

What a terrible witness.

Well Brian, the software does have a large library for sure, especially in the pro package. But I believe it is the "Buggyness" and awful support that is driving people crazy. I was roaming through this complaint board and I see that there are a few threads complaining about BibleSoft. Here is another.

Last time...
When I press the Bibles, Topics, Commentaries, Books, and Media buttons I am astounded at the number of new resources I have in addition to the extensive library I had in the primo Advanced Reference Library content. I don't think I'll ever use all the reference works and features but even with my inital V4 outlay, then the V5 and OT update costs combined, IMHO the OT Professional Series update is a great value.

I'll try again... I updated to OneTouch Professional Series from PCSB V5 Advanced Ref Library. I retired after working in IT for 38 years and am on a fixed income. I'm used to having to pay for major software updates every 3-4 years, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Biblesoft offered another discount on top of the upgrade discount and I jumped on it. There is a steep learning curve to use the (new) advanced features. The app is somewhat buggy and Tech Support isn't a premium

Agree wholeheartedly. Invested thousands over the years and now it sits there. If I had bought the books instead at least I could access them. HUndreds of more $ just to continue use what we already paid for. Terrible company policy to invest in. STAY CLEAR !

Biblesoft Bad experience

Biblesoft's PC Study Bible 5 is very buggy and frustrating to use. (I have the Professional version 5.0e.) It freezes at times, has access violations and crashes, looses "focus" that is, you can be at one location in the Bible and when you select another Commentary, instead of keeping at the same location for the new Commentary, it freezes all too often and goes way off somewhere else in the Bible. Clicking Cancel when given different options for a Commentary does not work necessarily.

The NavPanel on the left side of the screen has a tendency to "stick" open and not disappear like it's supposed to. It can be very slow moving through text on a page even with a computer with a 1.8 GHz Duo core processor. It is not completely Windows Vista compatible as when you start it, a warning is given that Vista will run in basic mode or something like that (You won't get all the visual effects.) It doesn't restore correctly from the task bar. It has all of these problems and perhaps more I've forgotten at the moment even though they came out with version 5 approximately one year ago.

Recently, I tried buying some software from their Website. It turned into a frustrating experience. One of several problems was that their Website automatically generated a password for me at some undetermined time so when I tried to log in, I of course couldn't. It also wouldn't send me the password either and so on, etc. It is very apparent, that they need to make sure their Website works correctly! Even after resorting to calling and ordering from a person, there were more problems.

The software does have good potential but the problems using it degrade the experience significantly. I am told that the owner or boss basically doesn't care that much so that is why it is like it is. Perhaps more constructive feedback will help make both the software and general customer experience better. (I have had previous versions starting at 2 or 3, I believe.)

No customer service. Trying to install on a new laptop but I get a message that it has been installed too many times. From another user. "Through process of time and computer failures They say I have installed too many times. I can no longer call anyone they have no tech support staff". Don't waste your money on this software.

I bought it in December of 2022 it is now Joanuary 2023. I have already tried to contack Biblesoft three times and have received no resposnse.

What a disappointment!

Just a note to say that if you have any issues that are not addressed, you may email biz@biblesoft.com -- Please be specific and include your full name so that we may find your account and reply appropriately. There are a number of people who prefer to blast on social media sites; but in the end, the only way to solve issues is to contact the company. Use of the email above will get you where you need to be. OneTouch customers are afforded the appropriate updates at no additional cost. The real issue is that a few disgruntled people who do not follow the Christian teaching of going to the source with issues as compared to whispering or gossiping, seem to feel the need to imply that ALL users are not satisfied or feel as they do. Biblesoft has specifically refrained from getting happy customers to get involved on social media in support of the products and the company as it would still be gossiping in our opinion. So, may we encourage you if you have an questions or a need of any kind related to your program or study needs to email the above address. This small handful of people, represent less than .0001 of our customer base who are happy and thankful for the easy to use and comprehensive Bible Study tools we offer. God Bless each and everyone of you who are interested in all the Bible has to offer.

Seems like a warning sign. I would assume no updates, patches or fixes.

BibleSoft was running a 50% off on all products, including upgrades, over the Labor Day week. Still a user of Version 5F, I was interested. I sent the email below (with Susan's first response at the top and a second response to the same email which is after my email body) asking some questions, which there email ad encouraged, about the progress made with the One Touch product. I was surprised and saddened by Susan's response. If there truly are no updates with new version numbers, I will just continue to use the Version 5 product and hope like others, that BibleSoft is able to improve the One Touch product.

Hello BibleSoft:

I would like to know how many updates you have made to the Windows PC version of the One Touch product since it’s release several years back. If you would, please include version numbers of the updates and the fixes / changes made for each update. I very much would like to take advantage of this offer, but I need to be certain that the product has improved and I will not be dealing with the issues that I experienced when I first upgraded and later returned the original One Touch offering. I still used the PC Study Bible Version 5F on an older PC but would like to have a more user friendly (and hopefully touch screen compatible) product for my Windows 10 system.

Sincerely,

Susan's second response (typos included) was a bit longer:
The program is very well accepted and used by many thousands of people workdwide. It works without a touch screen

OH, sorry. Have you called the support line? This is from their web site.
Customer service can be reached at: [protected], available M-F, 8am-4:30pm (Pacific).
I have called there before, and had some success.
Personally, I hope the company survives. And they can, if they develop a more mature attitude and treat their clients in a business like fashion. They do have a useable product. It needs to be modernized, but they don't need to start from scratch. I think they lost their steam when they put too much money into a web app, which never took off.

Apparently there is some confusion -- the OneTouch program is very compatible with Windows 10 -- and Biblesoft is totally available by emailing biz@biblesoft.com

I have tried to contact tech support over a year and a half ago with my first issue and STILL haven't heard anything. Why do you think I'm here?

Does this mean my PC Study Bible version 5 is an over $300.00 ripoff? Should you not send me one that works? Do they even exist? This is really sad.. FREE "TRIALS" lead to more COSTS. I'm on pension and was depending on this software to help in my retirement ministry.

Well, it's not a rip off. It will work reasonably well in Windows 7. It is a fair size library and well priced for what you are getting. And, I think the update to version 5.2, which was a free patch release, might still be available. You may want to call their support line.

I'm very saddened about the responses I'm reading here. I contacted one KATHI KAMPI in January 2017 on an issue I was having regarding loss of my daily RBC devotions and was informed they were looking into the situation. That was 1 1/2 years ago and I've heard absolutely NOTHING in that time.

Now my whole program PC Study Bible program is gone that I paid over $300.00 for and inquired about this lost on July 31/18 this year and I HAVEN'T HEARD A THING on it neither.
Here is my sent message.

To whom it may concern I would like some assistance with my PC Study Bible that I purchased but have completely lost.

I send this message originally not being able to get to the RBC devotions but now I've completely lost my PC Study Bible program that I purchased. Is there any way my PC Study Bible can be restored online?

I am running on a windows 7 and used the program daily for my studies. Nobody responded beyond the Jan 30/17 response re; my first issue and now I've completely lost the program and the CD Rom I got when I purchased the program. I paid hundreds of dollars for the program and now it's gone. Please help me.

Sorry to hear you had this trouble. It seems odd that the program would just disappear. Is it possible that you just lost the shortcut? What version are you using? Version 5.2 ran relatively well in Windows 7. And they were still using cd's back then. The new "One touch" is sent out on a USB stick. Does it still show as installed in Windows?

Hmm, I don't see what the advanced library should not install, if that is the library you own. The BibleSoft installers were a bit problematic at times. Unfortunately, I can't remember if the issues were around bad CD's, or conflicts with other software on the system. Make sure the library you are installing is all the same version.

So what should I do and what can you do? The instructions also speak of a KEY. What if I don't get a KEY?

Hi Sorry, I didn't realize you had responded. Hmm, a key. I wonder if they mean a usb key? That would be the new software, the one they call "One Touch". It uses a usb to install, and some people call them a usb key. If it is the old software, then it may be an installation key. I can't remember if they used an installation key. I would not be able to help you with that. Do you have an account set up with them on their web site? If you do, you can download all the installation files for the add-ons, except for the big ones, which is very funny, because they are not actually that large. They do a good job of keeping your purchase history in your on-line account.

Since this is a complaint's board, that means we are not that fond of the BibleSoft software. So, I don't feel too bad in doing this. Here is a link to the bible software I am now using. It takes some getting used to, because of it's power, but their support is incredible. And the software is much, much more powerful than BibleSoft. You really can't compare them. I think that is why BibleSoft will not give out screenshots or videos anymore. They are well aware that they have fallen badly behind in technology. It is still simple to use, but old technology.

Try this software. They have free trials, I believe.

HI: I purchased "One Touch", and it is really just a re-work of Version 5.1, with an irritating startup screen. That aside, it does work with Windows 10, or it did for me. It would crash from time to time, but I got used to that. I don't trust it enough to use during a presentation. They did close their Facebook website from customer post, which is a sign of something, I guess. They do seem to take criticism very personally, and not professionally. Anyway, that is their choice. I suspect some of the comments probably hurt deeply. And I don't think they had the resources (i.e. enough programmers) needed to address some of the issues that have come up. The software is very easy to use. For sure.

I switched to Accordance last year. I can't believe how fast and powerful it is, and stable. It is written by "MAC Heads", and has a bit of that MAC look and feel, which is fine. It is very powerful, a bit complex, but with the complexity comes great flexibility. I can have a window open on one screen and have it updated by the screen I am using on another screen. Great for presentations! And customer support is stunningly good. I mean crazy good!

BibleSoft does not have that kind of power or service. But, as I said, it is very easy to use. I hope they are able to survive, because there is a market for their product, once they get it where it needs to be. BibleSoft will never have the power and following of Accordance, but that is not their niche. They need to focus on that.
