Bank of America Dispute Transaction on EDD CARD

Called EDD to report and dispute a transaction. Totally interrogated by representative, unlike ever before with BofA.

--Where do you keep your card?
--Where do you keep your PIN?

How did this become about me and not the merchant who charged me twice for services as I was disputing?

Additionally, are these and other [censored]ic questions being asked of me to somehow blame me or to offer me suggestions? Or are these being asked because EDD recipients are less trustworthy, intelligent, or possessing of common sense? I obviously tattooed my card number on my forehead and my PIN on my chin...how disrespectful and full of derogatory connotations for anyone of even minimal intelligence.

Then, the investigation will take 90 days...great for everyone other than myself, as the customer. My money sits unavailable to me, available to the merchant, and BofA EDD is concerned that I may be handing out my card number and PIN to everyone because I'm stupid. That is definitely how it feels and, I dare say, this feels aimed at certain populations of individuals and smacks of elitism, racism, and disregard for others who are currently experiencing serious difficulties.

It is unfortunate that California EDD partnered with such a disrespectful and money-grabbing bank that is already well-known for its poor customer service and global greediness.

Desired outcome: Better customer service; apology; class action against BofA

Bank of America Closed Accounts Without Reason

On May 11th, I attempted to login to online banking with BofA, and was given a number to call. I called and was told my checking and savings accounts were closed and was not given a reason. I was told due to the disclosure agreement, they can make a "business decision" and close my accounts without reason. I know they are required to inform you they are going to close your account, which they never did. I only found out because I called. I have money in that account that they are refusing to let me withdraw. Also, on two occasions, I had a direct deposit come in (I checked my balance the day before, and it was positive), once it did, it was lower than it was supposed to be and I did research, BofA claimed that my account had been negative and took money out of the deposit. So they have stolen money from me as well. I have never had a negative balance in my account with them. I firmly believe that a class action lawsuit needs to be filed against them based on how many people they have done this to.

Desired outcome: I want them to be held accountable for the theft of funds and closing customer accounts based on their discretion.

Bank of America ACH Refund

On 04-05-2021.Isn't enough room here to explain the complaints I have encountered with Bank of Am. They charged me $1, 100. for a refund that did not go into either of my accounts and that I did not request to be done. I have talked to at least 30 people at the bank and get a different answer every time. I've spent countless hours on phone calls, only to be put on hold, hung up on, talked to very rudely. With no refund to my account. I even received a letter from them saying it had been resolved and deposited back into my account, which has not happened yet. I am so fed up with BofA . After 18yrs of banking with them, I'm being charged $1, 100. for their mistakes and then more mistakes they have made.

Desired outcome: To be refunded the $1,100.+ that BofA put into some one else's account(not mine)and I'm being charged for it

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

For the last 4 years, BofA has been disclosing my financial information to a 3rd private and independent party without as much as trying to verify if they may have my consent — not even verifying a signature. This year I objected to this practice. The 3rd party wrote to me on a email boasting that a secretary of theirs was able to extract the information...

Bank of America Closing of a credit card I have had since 1991

I was informed by B of A today via customer rep that my account had been closed by B of A. I have had the card since 1991 have made payments on time, and have a credit score of 822. I did not receive any type of letter explaining why the account was closed.
I had another account closed last year due to fraudulent activity that I was unaware of .
I am wondering if other consumers have experienced this closing of credit card accounts when their accounts are in good standing and if I have any recourse.

Desired outcome: an explanation as to why a consumer with a great credit history would have their B of A account cancelled without explanantion

Bank of America Title support for car loans

Did a State to State transfer of title and It took them almost 4 months to get the correct Information for the CA DMV. As a matter of fact there are still issues. CA DMV wants me to pay penalty fees for a late title transfer. Have contacted them multiple times over past few months and they plain dropped the ball. The $894.00 In late fees are their fault not mine.

Desired outcome: Penalty fees paid by Bank Of America. I did my part and they dropped the ball.

Bank of America EDD unemployment prepaid debit card

My issue began march 3rd, 2021. I made a reasonably high dollar purchase online using my california edd unemployment prepaid debit card : issued by bank of america. This raised a security flag & temp locked my card. This is common & so I called in to verify the charge and unlock my card. The agent I spoke to was very stern & was speaking to me the entire time as if I had done something wrong & even made the remark "this unemployment scenario is terrible, between that and everything going on nowadays never a bad time for a little retail therapy to keep you people sane". A condescending blow because he's referring to people who were laid off due to covid as "you people" & then another additional blow to me personally regarding where I spent my own money, which he had zero idea what it was actually on & was making an assumption based on the merchant from where it was bought & my previous account purchases. He validated that last part because after putting me on hold for 30 minutes to review my account he returned to inform me "after a review of your account we are not going to remove the hold/block on your card at this time". "you are going to need to contact your"sponsor"(which is obv edd) and have them submit to us a completed benefits eligibility verification form. A what? First of all one does not just contact edd and have them do anything. Lets just clear that part up. Getting edd on the phone is another task that you basically need a masters degree in doing.

I contact edd finally & am informed there is no actual form persae. Its more like they just verify all my personal information with me and then its updated and by them continuing to to issue me my bi weekly unemployment benefits via direct deposit into my bank of america card account th6e system on b of as end will reflect there are no more issues at all. Because why would there be any. Let me rephrase that in one of the simplified contexts I have had to use with bank of america to try and get them to process the issue at its core. Edd is saying" your account is fine. There are no issues with your claim, no issues with verifying you & no further actions we are able to take that we haven't already to inform b of a of this. We are going to continue to deposit money for you into your b of a account, every two weeks that you certify. "for the past month any time I would call b of a they would verify every piece of verifying info they have for me including sending a code to my phone and my security question I setup. Then they would tell me they still have not been notified that my claim is verified yet by edd. Keep in mind one of the questions they ask me when verifying me when I call is"when was the last deposit from edd made"? Which is usually a few days prior because I call these people every couple days. Some will tell me they could unlock it if they could get direct info from edd. Others will tell me their system won't even allow it. Most will literally gaslight me and tell me I need to call edd this is their issue. And some will just repeat" you need to contact your sponsor and ask for the form". On april 12th I was somewhat lucky enough to reach an edd agent who was determined to figure this out. He filed what's called a ebp id issues log with the edd technical support team to try and fix it. But still was certain and confident that there was nothing more edd can do. I began contacting b of a daily at this point explaining to every agent at their high level dept called : risk what was going on, all the points & repeating over and over there is nothing more edd will do this is a bof a issue. Why are you ignoring the fact that I am still getting payments!? Not only that but when I login to the app I can't even see my account balance or account history at all.. They have all the info blacked out.

Then something different finally happened when I called in on april 22nd. They placed me on hold and then spoke to someone and came back & said okay so you will need to go into a bank of america branch with two forms of id and then have the branch manager either call us or call us and then hand them the phone & then we can unlock the account! So to verify I said"you want me to actually go into a public building to show 2 forms of id & speak to the bank manager & basically give him or her no choice but to contact you & you want me to hand over my own device that my mouth is near everyday to speak to you?"and this is on the assumption that I am able to even leave my house or feel comfortable enough to go into a bank? If I have had covid recently (which I have..2 weeks ago!) im just sol? L regardless went into the bank the following day with two forms of id & the manager contacted them after explaining this whole story to him & they said my card would be reactivated in 24-48 hours. Tuesday rolls around and would you believe me if I told you that the card status is : locked.. Still! So I call bank of america back and talk to them I tell them I went into the bank etc etc. The agent at risk tells me" well then you are going to have to give edd a call because this is obviously an issue on their end"! Lol. Wow. I hit him with all the logical points because b of a also fails to adequately note anything.. So also keep in mind I have to re explain everything I just did everytime to every person. Which also keep in mind has resulted in more hang ups and transfers due to the rep being to lazy or annoyed because they dont know what to do then you care to know.. And the hold times to get to these reps has been up to 2 hours max. Anyway.. After re iterating to him again his final response is this :"oh"here is the issue"you need to contact your sponsor edd & have them complete and send over a benefits eligibility verification form. I hung up.

This has been going on for 2 months. Edd has been actually polite and helpful and bofa has been rude, unprofessional & very condescending 90% of the time and been providing me with false and misleading information. I am relying on this money to support my family. Both of my grandparents lost their lives in a disturbingly difficult battle with this virus not even a month ago & it we weren't even able to hold a funeral service. Our children are suffering because our benefits have been unavailable for 2 months while they continue to accumulate as I certify every 2 weeks & still have not been able to return to my job. Please if there is anything you can do to help I am begging you to do so. I dont know where else to turn with this.

Desired outcome: My card reactivated and my account access restored.

Bank of America Unethical unprofessional behavior

This is the letter I sent along with documentation of the transaction. My claim was denied and I never got the merchandise. I have been a BOA customer since they opened and I can't believe they denied my claim.

Re: Claim# [protected]
Amount: $96.00

Dear Sir or Madam:
I am writing to dispute a determination to remove the amount of $96.00 from my account based on a claim I submitted for the order of an item that I am not in possession of or was never in possession of.

The determination is inaccurate because the merchandise I ordered was never delivered. I live in an apartment complex and there is no porch to my building and the USPS tracking slip says it was delivered at the front door or porch at 9:42am on January 16, 2021. However, it does not give an exact address it says Freehold, NJ 07728.

When I get deliveries to my apartment the UPS, FED Ex, Amazon person or the mailman rings the buzzer to be let in the building if the packages are too large to go into my mailbox.

I work from home and I am here at my apartment every day, and if I am not here my daughter or husband is here.

Please find enclosed the copy of 2 emails I sent the seller regarding the purchase of an electric fireplace in the amount of $96.00. As you will see I never got a response from the seller which raised my suspicion that the transaction was fraud and that is why I filed a dispute.

Here is an email I sent to the merchant:

---------- Forwarded message ---------
From: Trena Parks
Date: Thu, Jan 7, 2021, 9:46 AM
Subject:
To:

Still waiting for confirmation on purchase of a electric fire place. Please confirm.
Thanks

Please thoroughly investigate the nature of the claim before deciding to decline my claim again.

Thank you in advance.

Desired outcome: I would like to have the the decision reversed and credit my account the $96.99

Bank of America Bank of America made a mistake and costing me more than a thousand dollars.

On April 6th 2020 I sent a Bank of America check to my County Tax Collector's office to pay my annual property tax. At the end of the year 2020 I received a letter from my County Tax Collector's office advising that I had not paid my taxes and was going to assess a penalty. I called and later sent them a copy of the check which was cashed by someone. Bank of America made a mistake and cashed my check and gave funds to someone but not the proper party.
They took the funds from my account and after I called they said they were having the Fraud Department investigate the matter. They gave me a Claim number 08FEB2021-200570 and said the investigations sometimes take up to 90 days to settle. I made no mistake they did but they took the funds out of my account. And I am a Platinum customer who has been with them forever. Please help me get my money back into my checking account.

Desired outcome: Put the funds back into my checking account.

Bank of America Bank fees, overdraft, charges and unauthorized transfers

My ex husband and I had four accounts with BOFA. One account had just my name on it and my other account had my name and my ex husband's name on it (I was the primary account holder on this account). My ex husband had one account with just his name on it, and one with both of our names on it (He was the primary account holder on this account). Due to Covid-19, and other situations beyond our control, we had not been able to visit a branch to remove each other from our accounts, and were told that we could not do that over the phone, or until our accounts were brought current. My ex husband received a counterfeit check, and he cashed it. Unfortunately, this incident caused his account to be overdrawn by $3150. As soon as this happened, my ex husband contacted BOFA, and made payment arrangements. He received weekly unemployment checks, and every penny of it has gone towards paying his negative balance. His account is now current. Someone at BOFA took it upon themselves, and without my permission, to transfer money from my account that only has my name on it, to my ex husband's account, twice. When we reached out to BOFA, we were told that they took money from my account because they were trying to lower the negative balance in my ex husband's account. I am NOT at all responsible for his debt, and should not be forcefully held accountable. The associates claimed to not know if I or my ex husband caused the overdraft of my ex husband's account. If you look at the counterfeit check, you will clearly see that the check was made out to HIM and HE signed it. After speaking with several different associates, they refused to reverse those transactions, or refund me my money. Their decision to transfer my money to my ex husband's account, left me without the ability to pay the expense that I intended to pay. After BOFA transferred money from my account, I did not have enough money to pay my cell phone bill. BOFA paid my bill, then charged me an overdraft fee of $35. I am EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED, and am requesting that the $37.43 and $11.42 be refunded to me, in addition to the bank fees and overdraft charge. Also, please be advised that BOFA has refunded bank fees and overdraft charges to my ex husband numerous times, but have refused to do so for me.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund

Bank of America Fraud claim credit that B of A stole out of my account.

I had filled a claim for 3 or 4 charges to my Edd debit card back when everybody else had all those fraud claims. I received a credit and a few months went by and randomly with no letter or heads up b of a stole $146.99 out of my account. So I spoke with customer service and the lady said in the notes from the claim dept team that the y took the money bc I had received a refund, which I didn't, apparently the genus's in charge of fighting fraud must have got the provisional credit confused bc even the customer service lady said I was not refunded the money. So we filed a missing claim complaint and it's been a month already and I'm not allowed to speak to anyone would screwed up the investigation. This is unemployment money, they are victimizing victims. I want my $146.99 and never want to do any business with them ever again.

Desired outcome: Put my $146.99 back into my account ASAP

Bank of America Checking and savings/ account closure

On April 12th I was at my doctors office and my care was declined I knew I had plenty of money for my co pay. I immediately call the bank and find out my accounts are being closed. This is one day before my pay check is to be deposited. I have never bounced a check nor over drafted my account. I do not understand why this is happening as the only thing they wills say they are being closed for business reasons with not notification. I am completely broke I have not money to even buy groceries and they are now saying my account will not be closed until April 24th and I will not get my money until up to 10 day after that. What am I suppose to do about my lights as they told me will not honor my ACH payments. Why would they hold my savings? How is it possible you give people no notice to put them in a position of not even being able to eat. I mean covid has hurt people like me financially and the only assumption I can think of its either my loans to pay off debt due to covid or me putting my fiancés stimulus and income tax check in my checking account so I could pay for an upcoming trip.

Desired outcome: I would like to know why this happened and would like access to my money to pay my bills
