My Capital One credit card was charged an additional $420 dollars, for a cleaning fee after a $320 rental. When I returned the car, I asked the rep. to look at everything he checked it and, said you are good to go. Then they charged the extra money for cleaning and after Capital One decided, they did not have any proof of needing to clean the car; they reversed the payment back to them and now I am on the do not rent to list.

Avis Agent chose to leave me stranded over offering available company policy solution

Made reservation on Priceline for a rental car to be picked up at AVIS located at Eppley Airport, Omaha, NE on Wed, July 14th and returned Fri, July 16th.

Arrived at the AVIS counter to pick up my rental. The agent requested to see the credit card used to pay for the reservation, which I gave him.

Then he advised me of the $250.00 refundable deposit. Told him to use the card I just gave him. Unfortunately, there was not enough funds available to cover the full amount of the deposit. So I tried to give him 2 credit/debit card as options for payment. Both having been used on previous bookings with AVIS at Lincoln Aiport. The agent refused, saying it was company policy to not accept anything but major credit card. I replied that I have used these cared on multiple reservations at the Lincoln Airport location without issue. He said "Well, Lincoln is doing everything wrong"

I explained the importance of the situation in that not reaching a reasonable solution would leave me completely stranded at the Omaha airport, 945 at night with nothing. That could not be the best Avis could do for a loyal customer, and again asked him to please help me find an alternative to being stranded. He told me to call Priceline. So I stepped away from the counter to do so. They were just as eager to assist me or offer any real resolution options other than to cancel and rebook.

They informed that when making the reservation I clicked on a box that somehow was the whole cause of my predictament. Not just once, but an insulting number of times was I reminded that I screwed up. I said alright the blame lies with me then, but now I was asking for his assistance since he was the expert in this field and their ordering platform. Also explained the urgency in the situation and wanting to avoid being stranded. For me, this is where Customer Service steps in to Shine, to save the day, by providing a customer experience to brag about, best marketing tool ever, right? Apparently, I am mistaken

Both Avis and Priceline best solution for me was to cancel my reservation and rebook, but no refund would be given. Resulting in double paying for a reservation already paid in full, all because of the payment type for the refundable deposit. I could only shake my head in disbelief that this was the best two separate compnaies were willing to do. When I asked Priceline to please talk to the Avis agent, maybe they could figure something out, I was shocked to learn that Avis and Priceline were not allowed to communicate directly. At this point I really started to think this was all a joke as the reality of being stranded becan to sink in. Again I asked the Avis agent who this was such and issue in Omaha when I have on multiple occasions had no issue whatsoever at then Lincoln office. He said it was company policy to only accept major credit cards. But I have used the same cards I was offering to himmultiple times in Lincoln, there must be some other option available. I asked "Are you seriously ok knowing you are choosing to leave me stranded with no alternatives available, over the payment type of a refundable deposit" He nodded, stating it was company policy.

Priceline was just as pleased with their decision as well. It has been over 2 hours when I finally said just cancel it, I am done. I advised I would dispute the payment charged to my major credit card. This seemed to taunt Priceline rep for some reason, I explained that it was not my policy to pay for products or services never received.

As if all that was not bad enough the next day I contacted the Avis Lincoln Airport location. I spoke to Ben, asked if he had any availability for today. He did. I told him about my ordeal with the Omaha Location and if would have the same issue on what payment type I used for the deposit. In a nutshell, he said Nope, you're fine. All he needed to accept my debit card was proof/confirmation of the account. A fairly new procedure. Wonderful.

Why does that make things worse? Because it meant the agent in Omaha had this option available to him as well and CHOSE to ingore it! Making it his decision alone to leave me stranded not company policy. I cannot think of a more dangerous act an employee can do than willingly place a customer's safety on the line.

Avis About pick up service!

Dear Customer service,

My confirmation number is 07855469US6 under Elton Koo. Pick up date 7/18-25.2021.
When I called to reconfirm my pick up time, your staff told me that they don't provide pick up service in their location. But when I made this reservation by phone, your colleague confirmed with me that my pick up location within 5 miles to the rental car location. There is no extra charge and can provide the pick up service. And because of this, I didn't book through booking.com to rent a car. If I rent your car through booking.com, the booking cover all the basic insurance, but make reservation direct from your company. All the insurance is not covered. Right now, I need to call an Uber to the rental car location in Universal's Lowe's Royal Pacific Resort. Also, when I called in this morning, your staff is not helpful and didn't provide any solution on my issue at all. If this is the standard of the customer service that your company have been practice. I won't consider to rent from your company anymore!
Please investigate on my case, and reply me as soon as possible! This issue really ruin my vacation.
Suppose I want to make another reservation on 7/29-8/6/2021. with the promotion you send to me. Now, I need to reconsider to rent from other company.

Avis Extra charges

And may I reserved a rental car through Avis through the Priceline app my quote 4 the rental cost was $1, 069.83 when I went to Avis to get my rental they said there was an extra $200 deposit they then put a hold on my car for $1, 269 the hold was released a few days later when I returned my car on June 21st they charged my card on June 22nd for the amount of $1, 262.16 which is the price of the rental plus the deposit a few days later I was charged a $7.95 toll fee which I accepted that as there were tolls along my trip on July 13th I noticed there is an additional $250 charge for Avis I called the Avis representative he said that the the $1, 262 was just a pending charge and we'll come out later I explained to him that it was already taken out then he tried to tell me that the $200 for the deposit was never taken out I tried to explain to him again I'm looking at my bank statements and yes it was so not only did they take my deposit they charged me an additional $250 for cleaning which under my impression was what the deposit was for

Avis Hiring scam

On 6/17/2021 I received a text messages from a person calling themselves Davis Mark and that he was a recruiter for your company her is the number +[protected]. He proceeds to tell me to download this Telegram app so that I am able to speak with the hiring manager "Jordan Johnson". At this point I became very concerned and knew this was a scam. I played along to see where this would go and sure enough. They try to collect your information and offer you some fake job with your company. Here is the " Jordan Johnson" number +[protected] and the username on Telegram @avisbudgetgroupinc.

Avis Car rental return, customer service

I rented a car in SLC from Avis on June 13, 2021 and went to return the car on June 18, 2021 at 3:00 am at SLC airport. (rental confirmation number 03092890US3)
When I arrived, there was no one available and no dropbox found. I called customer service on June 18, 2021 at 3:30 am and after being instructed to check to see if someone was available at the Budget counter in the terminal, I was told to take the car keys home with me and fedex them back to the SLC office.
June 19, 2021 I called AVIS customer service again to get the address and was told to send the keys to the SLC airport AVIS facility which I did via FEDEX Tracking number [protected].
The parcel was delivered on June 21, 2021 and signed for a person named "M. MEDELIN".
I have called AVIS Customer service several times this week to get my receipt and ask for a refund for the $54.85 that I spent on FedEx'ing the keys back, but none of your employees know what to do.
Please make this right.

Avis Fraud

On May 8th 2021 at 222 East 3rd Street, NC, 28202 someone using my name (Mariah Bish) has rented a car. I am trying to file a police report but I need to know what identification was used to be able to rent the car. I have called AVIS in the Hilton (address provided above) and the man I spoke with was erratic and unwilling to help. I also have called customer service multiple times and to no avail. I need this information. I am working with the Asset Retrieval Investigations Unit (Lara Young) who informed me of the fraud. Please contact me via phone ASAP [protected]

Avis Fuel service charge and e-tol charge

1. Was charged fuel service charge of $15.99. The car was returned full. Was filled only 1 mile from return center.
2. Was charged e-toll charge of $47.96. I was of the understanding that the daily charge was only for days e-toll was actually used. The e-toll was only used for 2 of those days. If this is not the policy, it should be changed to the days the service was used only.

I have called Avis Corporate and Customer service supervisors.

I was told that no supervisors are available and that they would call me back within 48 hrs.

1.) I was overcharged for this rental when it was for 2 days only
2.) I was charged for options I never signed for and declined this is FRAUD
3.) Im owed another 124.20 back to my credit card on top of the 123.18 already refunded.
4.) Since I am not able to speak to anybody at avis or a supervisor I am flying to Missoula this weekend and I will be calling the Police and filing Fraud charges against avis for fraudulently charging me for services I declined and overcharging me.
5.) I am Military and Gov and did not get any discount either.
6.) I would also like to terminate suspend my preferred and wizard account with Avis and will never rent from Avis ever again.

I will be calling the President of Avis and Corporate offices tomorrow with all case and correspondence

Comments: Car rental Breakdown and calls to emergency services 48 minutes on old then get disconnected then 27 min on hold and got disconnected.
My Car broke down where we had no cell signal and missed our flight.
This was a 2 day rental only and we had to buy a whole new airline ticket.
AAA was called to try resolve the flat battery and alarm system malfunction twice.
The car was returned 04/10/21 keys in the drop box.

Contacting the police in this matter is futile, as it's not criminal but civil.

If you believed you've been wronged, kindly request a copy of the signed contract to know correctly what you've agreed to. If it is anything different from what you've been charged, send them certified, a request for the remaining amount or your intent to file in a small claims court.

Avis Faulty rental car

This company is a joke. They rented me a car that had electrical issues and had to be towed because it wouldn't start. It was not the battery. They then had the nerve to send me a bill for "a jumpstart" which didn't occur. I waited several hours that day when the car died while on vacation. they transferred me to multiole different people, one even told me to call the car dealership. It was mass confusion. They finally sent a tow truck to pick up the car, I had to Uber back to Avis to get another car. After telling me there was no charge they sent me a bill for a "jumpstart" that never happened. When I called them they said it was for the tow. Never using this company again.

Avis I made a reservation got a rental car at SJC airport. I chose the higher price Avis because they have provided quality service in the past. Because of a change in Covin 19, I had to change my reservation. I dialed the AVIS number of the airport location as provided on the web site. The answer options included either new or modify. I chose modify and was transferred to a call center in Mexico. After a long wait, my call was answered. By then, I was within the 24 hours.

Dear Sir/Madam,

On January 28, 2021, I purchased a 2020 Toyota Camry from your Avis Car Sales location at 1425 Southlake Parkway, Morrow, GA 30260.

I test-drove a number of different vehicles at this location before making a selection, and found defects with a few of them, such as tire/rotational noises, noticeable exterior scratches, a sizable dent in the left front fender of one car, etc.

In an effort to correct rotational noises on one of the cars, the location's manager, Victor Heredia, changed its rear tires; the noise continued. Afterwards, Mr. Heredia advised that he is "not in the business of reconditioning cars" and declined to address any other notable cosmetic, nor mechanical/noise, defects on other cars that I test drove.

Within a few days of purchasing the 2020 Toyota Camry, I noticed a side-wall bubble in the right-front tire. Keeping in mind Mr. Heredia's admonition that he is "not in the business of reconditioning cars, " I left a voice mail message on his telephone extension at 1:13 pm, Tuesday, February 9. In that message I posed two questions: 1) When can I expect to receive the license plate for the car? And, 2) Who is his contact person at Bridgestone/Firestone to address the side-wall defect in my car's Bridgestone tire? As of this writing, I have heard nothing from Mr. Heredia.

In the meantime, I visited two different Bridgestone/Firestone tire dealers. Both declared the bubble resulted from a tire wall impact while driving through a pot hole, and refused a warranty replacement. Most curiously, both declarations were made before they inspected the tire, and despite the tire side wall showing absolutely no signs of any impact; not even so much as a scrape. See attached photos.

In each tire dealer visit, I explained my background as a retired automobile physical damage insurance claims manager, and that I have inspected literally thousands of tires over the years. My tire's side wall bubble is unquestionably from an internal radial ply separation, which is a manufacturing defect. An internet search confirms this type of defect is not uncommon for this Bridgestone tire type (Ecopia EP 4 22 Plus).

Even further, your website's used vehicle "Certification Process" document states, among other things: 1) "Inspected by ASE-Certified mechanics" and, 2) "All tires match, pressure correct, no damage" (bold italics added), as the last bullet point under the "Mechanical" heading in the same document.

I can but only believe this obvious tire defect existed before my purchase, and was simply overlooked by your ASE-Certified mechanics.

What I seek: 1) An approximate date to expect arrival of my car's license plate, and 2) Replacement of the right front tire.

I look forward to your prompt and favorable response.
