Auswide Vanlines The entire "service" or lack thereof

I can't stress enough to potential customers not to use this company. This review may be long but please read on to save yourself the pain!

They didn't show up on the booking date and never called. I had to make contact with head office to find that "they didnt know where the truck was". 4 days later the truck arrived after 8pm. Then it took them almost 2 weeks to deliver, after changing that date about 3 times. I had to extend my lease and cancel without refund bookings I had made for my drive interstate. No apologies or compensation. I made a formal complaint and when I received no response I involved Fairtrade Ombudsman. Eventually got a response basically telling me it was my fault for booking this service and that I should have anticipated delays. The response was extremely insulting and disrespectful. Why would I anticipate for the service not to be delivered in the way it was promised too? How was that my fault! The removalists made the whole process more stressful with the begrudging way they handled. The job and not to mention smoking and sleeping in the truck with all the customers' furniture! I'm not a smoker so I don't appreciate having cigarette smell permeating my belongings.

All in all I wish I could go back in time and look elsewhere. For your own sake do not use this company even if they are the cheaper option. You will end up saving money by using a more well known and trustworthy company.

Auswide Vanlines worst people on the planet

Moved from Queensland to Melbourne. Wish I had of read the complaints section before I hired this guy. Picked up my stuff but the truck arrived two days late without any contact, no body would answer the phone. Arrived in Melbourne three days late, dropped off my stuff in storage container without telling me where our why, then told me I would get my stuff when he felt like it. And I quote 'it may be next week, it may be the week after' the hung up on me and wouldn't answer my calls. Unbelievable. I called the cops. I can't believe he is still in business.

Auswide Vanlines Grossly incompetent

I chose this company to move my furniture because they make the right promises to be reliable etc. on their website and because they provided the cheapest quote. However, they turned out to be a nightmare to deal with. I strongly recommend other people never use them. They finally delivered my furniture 5 weeks after the initial date they gave me. This was the 4th date they gave me for delivery. On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dates they gave me they did not contact me to say delivery would not be made. I contacted them countless times by phone and email but getting information from them was like getting blood out of a stone. Though I remained polite throughout, because they had my deposit and furniture, they rarely returned calls or emails. I started to seriously worry I would lose my deposit and would never receive my goods. Finally they showed up but refused to unload the goods until I made full payment. They had not notified me in advance. Obviously one would like to check their goods are all there and not damaged before making full payment. I was relieved to find my furniture was all there and not damaged. I breathed a big sigh of relief. I see some people on this website have had positive experiences with this company. They should consider themselves very lucky. For me it was a very frustrating and stressful experience. It will be a long time before I forget it!

Auswide Vanlines Water damaged goods

DO NOT USE AUSWIDE VANLINES! I know it seems cheap but it's not worth it in the long wrong. My partner and I had to move to Queensland from Melbourne, so we organised our move with Auswide. Unfortunately due to personal reasons we had to stay in Melbourne. This is where the problems began - Auswide couldn't tell us where our furniture was! We had to speak to 3 different people before someone "had an idea" of where it might be and this happened over a number of days. So by now we had been accepted for a property but had no furniture to move in or even knew where it was. Then when they arrived to our new property proceeded to explain to us that it would be extra for them to move our furniture. So we moved all of our furniture inside. Finally a few of our larger items were water damaged. My bookshelf, entertainment unit, quilts etc. We rang as insurance is meant to be included - this was 5 months ago! We have been to consumer affairs, rung Auswide they play dumb and won't pay the insurance. So please don't waste your money on this removal's company.

I suspect the positive reviews are posted by the company. They were so atrocious in every way I can't believe they could ever do the right thing! If the positive reviewers are genuine, you people don't know how lucky you are!

Wonderful Service.

I am seeing a lot of negative comments about Auswide Vanlines however no one ever writes positive comments so I thought it was about time that someone did.
I recently had Auswide Vanlines move my household belongings from Melbourne to Brisbane and all I have to say is positive things.
The guys turned up on time and gave plently of notice and kept me informed as to when delivery would be. They were very professional and handled everything with care. All my gear arrived in the same condition that it lleft Melbourne in.
I will have no problems recommending Auswide to family, friends and anyone else who is moving!

Recently had Auswide move my gear from QLD down to Sydney NSW. They were excellent. Very professional. Nothing was damaged or broken in any way. The guys that moved my gear were great, called to advise pick up times and advised delivery times as well. Also the office staff were very helpful, even with me changing my list a few times, they were very understanding and gave me updated quotes due to the changes. Honestly every company I was looking at moving with had bad reviews somewhere on the internet. You really should talk to the company and get their take on it as Auswide was the only company that actually spoke about their complaints while the other companies brushed it off and wouldn't discuss it! Which in the end is part of the reason why I went with them, also their customer service prior to moving day was super!
I would 100% recommend Auswide and will move with them again! Don't judge a company just by a few bad reviews as most people would rather bag a company out rather than post good comments or they don't bother at all! Hence why I am posting this!

Had Auswide move me the other week and found them to be wonderful. They called when they said they would and
arrived within the time frames they specified. I found the office staff were very helpful and the boys on the truck very professional and hard working. All my items arrived in the same condition that they left in. Best interstate move I have had yet. Would not hesitate to have Auswide move me in the future and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is moving. They did an awesome job and they were very competitive with their quote!

Auswide Vanlines DID NOT SHOW UP AND DID NOT CALL

After calling on the morning of the pickup to confirm they would be there in the afternoon to pickup my things for a Sydney to QLD removal. I was told they would call me one hour before arrival and confirmed that they would be there in the afternoon. I waited all day for a phone call until 8pm that night and then tried calling and emailing them with no reply. The following day I spent most of the day again waiting for a phone call and trying to contact them. I eventually gave up and hired a truck and moved everything myself because I was unable to organise another removalist in the required time frame.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

Auswide Vanlines Lost items

I only wish I had seen the complaints listed on this websites before I actually hired this company for my own removalist job. I recently hired them to move 30 cartons and a rocking chair from Queensland to Victoria and only recieved 24 cartons and the rocking chair. Apparently the other cartons had been delivered to another address somewhere in Emerald and although I have been promised a number of times that a courier has been organised to collect them, I am still yet to see these items.

The main point of contact at the company is Peter. He is rude and abusive. He promises things that don't get delivered and finds it incredibly unbelievable that you would have the audacity to complain about the appalling service. They refuse to contact you so you are constantly having to call them for information and updates and then get abused for calling so often. If you are actually lucky enough to speak to someone other than Sharni or Wendy, they hang up on you when you ask them things like "When will my items be delivered?".

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE UNRELIABLE, RUDE AND INCREDIBLY INEPT.

Thankyou! I am currently 2 days into waiting for my items to be picked up with multiple excuses as to why. I found this site as I was trying to find an alternate number to call and inquire and these comments have solidified my decision to cancel the pickup. Good thing I decided to pay on delivery!
Not happy.

Auswide Vanlines DO NOT USE THEIR BACKLOADING SERVICE

To all those out there looking for a removalist or know someone who is:

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE AUSWIDE VANLINES ESPECIALLY THEIR BACKLOADING SERVICE.

They are completely URELIABLE and their service was atrocious.

They DO NOT show up on the day they say they will.
They DO NOT give warnings about any delays.
They ARE NOT apologetic about any inconveniences you may experience.

My friend paid for 4 items of furniture to be picked on Sunday in Victoria so that it may be delivered to my place in NSW by Monday. By 9pm on Sunday, they had not shown up. They did not call to say they were delayed. WE WERE LEFT HANING.

I called the office three times on Monday morning to find out what was going on only to be told that 'Peter' would call back. He never did.

When I finally reached Peter on his mobile, he was NOT APOLOGETIC about the delays or LACK OF COMMUNICATION. Instead, he told me that he didn't need our business and that we should cancel if we weren't happy. Aparrently this is how it is with backload services. Delays are part of the story.

This company DOES NOT VALUE YOUR TIME. They think that you should just WAIT ENDLESSLY for them to get their act together.

Given all the bad reviews I have read to date, why is this company still in business? How can bad word of mouth not have travelled?

I implore everyone out there who reads this or a similar comment to boycott this company.

YOU WILL BE LEFT HANGING.

YOUR ITEMS WILL NOT BE DELIVERED ON TIME.

AND YOU WILL BE TOLD OFF BY PETER FOR HAVING THE AUDACITY TO COMPLAIN.

Auswide Vanlines TERRIBLE SERVICE

Dealing with Auswide Vanlines initially seemed so straight forward. While I asked if they needed additional information on aspects of my interstate furniture relocation they said they had all they needed and would call closer to the time to give me an indication on what time they would be there on the Saturday.
After no follow up call, I contacted them directly to be told that they were running late and we would there in the afternoon and that they would call to let me know a time. No call followed and after leaving voicemail's and repeated phone calls I was told the truck was too full and couldn't accommodate my furniture. I was told by "Peter" that the boss had left for the day and he was in by himself trying to load a truck and was doing everything he could to help. I took pity on his situation as I was given the impression that he was not in charge. He told me he would attempt to have someone there the following day.
Again after numerous calls and another day of waiting I was told that no-one would be removing my furniture and would organise something the following day. I asked "Peter" who I could elevate the issue too and he then informed me that he was as high as I could go. I waited until 10.30am the following day and no call came. I spoke with "Peter" and told him that I had moved all my furniture into the Garage to allow the next tenant to move in, inconvenienced my landlord, the new tenants and had missed a non refundable interstate flight because of this inconvenience only to be told that he didn't need this issue, he had 4 hours sleep and no weekend trying to resolve the issues and said "to be honest he doesn't care" and I could go elsewhere. SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS AND DONT USE AUSWIDE VANLINES!

I have recently moved my belongings interstate with Auswide but everything is currently still in 'storage' (no one at the company will confirm where everything is) and if I'm completely honest, I'm not convinced I will get everything back, and I doubt it will be in as good condition as it was when they collected it. The staff are extremely unfriendly, and after they had locked up their van and were about to drive off I took the rest of my stuff out to them and told them to pack it and their response was, 'wouldn't it be easier to chuck it in a skip?'. But the problems didn't start there, they couldn't tell us when they were going to come to collect our stuff and I had things to do...because like most normal people, I have a life...so I phoned them up and told them and told them if they were going to stuff me around then they can come back tomorrow at 9am. They would have been on time as well if my watch had been 2 hours slow. So now, after having finally secured a property, I am ready to collect my stuff. I rocked up at their storage facility and asked to access my belongings, I was told that because it was through Auswide, I had to arrange a time to collect my stuff, so I jumped on the phone and told them I wanted it now. "I'm afraid Peter, our manager will have to call you back when he is available." not knowing this was utter B.S. I went along with it and decided 2 hours later that either he was really constipated or just not bothered about his customers. Assuming the latter, I called back and asked to speak with him and got put through before receiving abuse for wanting to access my belongings. Having a sales background I went along with it, finding loopholes to argue back with once he had run out of breath. After a short argument, he arranged to get his pre-school drop-out employees to call me a week later when they were at the storage facility to let me get my stuff. I am still waiting for this call and will happily see this company sink if someone takes them to court or if everyone comes to their senses and reads this website before seeking their assistance!
All 'AUSWIDE VANLINES' are interested in is your money...don't let them have it and these monkey-###ing cowboys won't be sticking around!

Auswide vanlines are to be avoided at all costs, they are unprofessional, have no idea of customer service, lack communication skills and once they have your money do not give a stuff about the customer.
They believe that any complaint or question should be treated with disdain and is only a nuisance.
In my case I am still awaiting delivery for items picked up in Melbourne for the Gold Coast-17 days have elapsed and still not delivered.
We were told by their representatives that delivery would take 4-5 days after pick up and would certainly be delivered before Xmas 2011.
Despite many emails to them asking for definite delivery dates and the whereabouts of the goods they only sometimes reply with unhelpful, glib comments. My daughter phoned today and spoke to an abusive representative who finally admitted that the goods were loaded on the wrong truck, the truck is in Mount Isa /He also said that they would try to have the goods delivered next Saturda -New Years Eve -Of course this is not going to happen-more waste of time .

Many other events could be reported and 90% are negative.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEIR METHODS ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE AND DISTRESSING

Auswide Vanlines Bad Removalist

I recieved a quote for a backload. The quote certified the date of pick-up.

It was explained to me that the date may vary by 1 day which I accepted. I payed half, with the other half due on arrival. The first day was excuses as to why they could not pick up as planned.

I requested to be called with an update. It never came, so I called. The same excuse was used.

I requested an update in the late afternoon. No call.

I tried calling 30 times but no resoponse.

Looks like Ive done my money with these guy's. There website does not mention their address so here it is, so you too can all drop in and Eyeball good old Peter. Im about to.

Auswide Vanlines DAMAGED PROPERTY

I employed Auswide Vanlines to move a small amount of furniture a distance of approx. 400km. I did my researcha and whilst they didn't offer the best price (over $500) i decided to go with them because they advertise as highly professional removalists that would take superior care of my property because they were a family run business.
ANYWAY they were three days late showing up and when they did arrive it was at 8:30pm. The removalists were incredibly rude and abrupt like they were really put out. Our belongings arrived at our new address and i was very upset to discover that our DVD player was broken, our brand new (not to metion expensive) mattress was soaked and stained, our beautiful antique sideborad was scratched with a huge gouge on the top, all our boxes and their contents were soaked, and a very expensive antique lamp was destoryed. When i questioned them about the damage the truck driver became annoyed and told me that he had marked all that damage onto his paperwork before he put it in his truck which was a complete lie because when he took the inventory at the pickup he stated there was no damage however, he did not give us a copy of that.
He then said we had to take it up with the company because so many people had complained about the state of their belongings once they were delivered.
So then i contacted the company after i had several quotes on fixing the damage and to this day (four months and many calls later) they refuse to communicate with me. Everytime i ring i get a receptionist that tells me "Peter" isn't available but i'll get him to call you back straight away.

I posted this review on about 8 review web sites this morning and I will also be submitting a complaint to the fair trades body. You may have managed to cheat me out of $270.00, but this will be well out balanced by some lost business from those reviews I have posted.

End of the day, as my regular taxi drive said to me one time, if you take dirty money, you feed dirty food and a dirty life on your table to your children. Some food for thought with your dirty dealings hey.

This is what I posted on 8 review wen sites, and more to come.

I strongly advise anyone against using TMC Removals and their contractor Auswide Vanlines.

Firstly this company TMC Removals from what I can see doesn't even do the removals themselves, they just pass on your booking to other contractors. So they are taking no responsibility at all.

Next issue is if what is listed on the web site selection list doesn’t exactly match what you have, the contractors will use these anomalies to call those things “Extras” and then jack up the price. Once you have paid your deposit expect to lose it if you want to argue the point on pick up.

Here are some examples of issue we had.

We listed 2 step ladders on the list on the web site. We have 1x 2 meter step later and 1x 2.3 meter step ladder and a 80cm steps. The contractor Auswide Vanlines advised these big ladders are not step ladders, they are “ladders” as in long ladders. A ladder that folds out and stand on its own is a “step ladder” if you google it regardless how long it is. He charged me the two step ladders as “Extras” even though I had them listed

I had on the list 1 stereo system . Because the two small speaker stands were not screwed on, he charged them as “Extras”

I listed 10 Book & Wine boxes which was a“boxes” choice on the web site. But because my boxes were not officially book or wine boxes he listed them as “Owner Boxes” and then put them down as extras.

There were about 12 extras of which only 3 might have been justified. All the others were all in the manipulation of the wording. He claimed we had 3 cubic meters of extras, but would do us a favour and only charge us for 2 cubic meters. In fact there was hardly even 1 cubic meter of extras. And over the entire load we had was smaller than they quoted on. For example we listed a queen size double bed, yet it was without a mattress. We listed 4 chairs and a table, yet these were small foldup furniture table and chairs so space wise this would take up ¼ of the space.

Over all if it was balanced out the cubic meters would have not changed at all from the original quote. Yet this contractor Auswide added on $270 for a few extras he fabricated on the list just to find a way to cheat us out of another $270.0.

Well you think you have already been ripped off enough by this Auswide Vanlines contractor and with no support at all from TMC Removals, but no there is more.

The driver owner M. Sneddon crank calls us to find out a time for the next day to deliver the goods. As a rule we never call back on crank calls or numbers we don’t recognise so we ignored it both times. So he does the same but to my daughter, who then calls him back. He gets her to call us. So its bad enough this crook goes and extorts another $270 from us, but then also is to low and tight he expect us to pay for his calls? How low can a man go!? He then tries it again the day of the delivery..

I am suspecting every customer that moves with this TMC Removals contractor Auswide Vanlines get the same treatment. Whether these two companies are directly associated or not, TMC Removals take no responsibility for the extortion going on between both of them.

So be warned and avoid both these companies at all costs.

I hvae used Auswide before and thye were fantastic - their were super careful and polite and Wendy in the office was fablous. TRhey moved us from Melbounre to Port Macquarie - they were very late on the pick-up but the guys worked so hard and did a magic job there was even a truck swap half way up into a smaller one that had just our gear in it and still no marks.

I would recommend these guys and will use them.

We employed aus wide from gold coast to melbourne. They were terrible, they were 2 days late and didn't want to bring our things to the house till the next day did not contact us to tell us they were late at all. Ruined our microwave and couch and we are having problems getting any compensation for them. A $2000 couch ruined because they were careless. Then they accused us of not paying them when we emailed them the receit to say we paid they did not contact us for what would happen to our ruined couch and microwave we are still trying to get hold of them! It has been 2 weeks now. They are rude they threatened us and I would neer recommend them to anyone!

My family and i are moving from Victoria to QLD, when i read this page i thought oh no what have i got myself into. We decided to continue with the company and take our chances. Removal day arrived and the communication between myself and the driver David was fantastic, his offsider Jeremy was also friendly and well spoken on the phone. The truck arrived on time the guys we friendly and we very professional in loading our furniture. After 3 hours of loading my house lot, David explained how the trip would go and estimated that the delivery would be later in the week, he will keep in contact with us ( to which he did), My father-in-law received a phone call to say they were on there way to the drop off point and true to there word arrived on time. David and Justin unloaded everything that was on the truck, no damage was done due to the professional wrapping of my goods and everything arrived safe and sound.

GOOD JOB GUYS
thanks for your great communication and transport of our goods.

Auswide Vanlines are a company to be avoided. They are without honesty and integrity. Emails, mail or phone calls are not responded to, except to say that "Peter" will call back. Our damages are over a thousand dollars; however, unless we take legal proceedings nothing will happen. This move was a nightmare thanks to this company and the lack of care they take, and responsibility.

Avoid AUSWIDE VANLINES. They are not to be trusted with your belongings.
Take care, go elsewhere!
