Aspen Dental - dentures

Two years ago I went to this practice and was back monthly complaining of pain and ill fitting dentures.

Two sets of dentures were made, the second after continuous complaints that the dentures never fit correctly, constant complaints of pain, there was a piece of tooth left in the bottom side that had to be extracted months after the second set of dentures were made. I was repeatedly told the dentures just needed realigned. After the tooth fragment, the dentures continued to cause pain and would not sit in the bottom correctly, the top gagged me constantly. The last appointment, I was told I likely needed implants but as many times before the computer system was down and it could not be talked about and I would need to schedule another appointment.

The frustration continued, I went to a new dentist who referred me to a maxillary facial practice to find out that issue was an infected wisdom tooth on the bottom. This took the new dentist less than 20 minutes to figure out the problem after two years of my life were wasted at this practice. I now am facing surgery for the infected tooth but am grateful that my new dentist listened and didn't just want to dismiss my complaint!

Desired outcome: I think at least a partial refund is appropriate. I would like a response from customer service at bonnie.[protected]@gmail.com

Aspen Dental - Misrepresentation of services, unbundling services charges, overcharging or upcoding routine services, diagnosing unnecessary or incorrect treatment

I am very displeased with the entire experience. Dr. Laughrey 's priority is not the oral care of his patients. He is more concerned with how much he can charge someone.

In the past, I was treated by Dr. Laughrey and he is a subpar dentist. He stated I needed a root canal and crown for tooth #19. He hit my lingual nerve on the bottom right of my mouth. I was left with a metallic taste and I was not able to feel my tongue for two months. At the second appointment for the crown insertion there was another problem. The crown was too high. The doctor ground the crown so the bite was even. The issue was, the metal was showing and after spending all of that money I did not want a junky crown. He was to have another one made. He never did and I was not refunded for the cost of the crown. The tooth still does not have a crown. I need a post and core build up before a crown can be placed.

I only made the appointment with Aspen Dental because my regular dentist was not able to get me in. I had two teeth that needed care. I take medication for a condition and that has been tough on my teeth. I did not want to let it go and cause further injury to either tooth. I was really hoping there would be a different dentist that would treat me.

Unfortunately that was not the case. Dr Laughrey did an exam and told me that I needed to crown the tooth on the upper right. I was instantly suspicious of his intentions. I was taken out to speak to the financial person. She began to tell me that a crown would cost more than $1300.00. I told her no that I was not going to have him do that. I then asked if there was something that could be done until I went to my regular dentist. I was told no. A crown or nothing.

Yesterday, I was lucky because my dentist had a cancellation and he could see me. I was able to have the two teeth on top fixed. They only needed a filling. The cost for treating BOTH teeth properly was $190.00. Maybe the PA board will see that as one or more violations listed below. Not only should I be refunded for the care on 11/23/2020 but also for the treatment that was not finished in the past. I am sad to see such a level of dishonesty.

Aspen Dental - I am still wearing temporary denture with my name embedded in them.

I receive these dentures in 2014. My name is stamped on them. I was told at the time they were temporary and I would be getting my other one on next visit.

I mentioned this at my next visit and they said these were my permanent ones. They never set well in my mouth which i complained and they filed them. my front teeth are of center, which they said my permanent would not be like this.
Here I am 5 yrs later with the same temporary plate.
