Aspen Dental Total treatment and experience

I was a patient at Aspen Dental. I was told by their dentist that my teeth were rotten n recommended I get them all pulled. I am 56 yrs old, disabled n live on a tight budget.
So, per their recommend-ation, I got all of my teeth pulled. The dentures they made never fit my mouth n after terrible pain n suffering n being slapped numerous times while getting my teeth pulled, I am let with an $8, 000 bill.

I asked for a refund n the only money, I received was the $1, 200 they didn't use that I had borrowed. That money back to where I had borrowed it. I did not receive any amount of money for my refund.

So, I am left with dentures that are too big n don't fit that I have to keep putting adhesive in my mouth so they stay in so I can eat.
I am a brittle diabetic n have to eat to main my blood sugar control n be able to chew my food, which makes it very hard with loose dentures. I have developed an ulcer now n have to undergo a surgical procedure now.

I am very unhappy with my whole experience at Aspen Dental n would never recommend them to anyone else.

I also want my money back as I am now having to make payments on Dental Implants.

I went to Aspen Dental to get x-rays to see if I need fillings and I wanted a teeth cleaning after about 2hrs. After I got my x-rays done ect. The dentist proceeded to take me in the business office and said I needed a "deep cleaning" to reverse the damage of gingervitis (mind you my gums didn't bleed and we're not inflamed when I'd brush my teeth and floss) the dentist made it sound like I'd lose my teeth if I didn't get the "deep cleaning" aka tooth scaling and root planning. She never called it that. Scared I might lose my teeth I signed up for the deep cleaning. Payed two something out of pocket I don't have dental insurance only a discount card. I was told I also need three fillings, I went in for deep cleaning on April 11th the dental hygienist didn't tell me she was going to to Start scaling and root planning, she scraped every tooth (I'm missing 3 in the back and still need oral surgery to remove the roots, I was worried it was abcessed she said it was not) they made another appointment for me to come in in get fillings I had to cancel twice to too tooth pain from the "deep cleaning" my teeth all shifted after that procedure my front tooth chipped after they shifted and my teeth feel weak and now I have brown spots all over my teeth. They are sensitive to heat and cold(they weren't before I got the procedure done) they feel and look horrible after that was done. I paid $500 out of pocket on top of the $2 hundred something. I called Aspen and left two messages to arrange a meeting face to face with the dentist for a refund because my teeth are worse after that. They stuck a $130 electric toothbrush I told them I didn't need it and I had one already. They charged almost 200$ for explaining good dental hygiene? I learned that as a kid. I don't need someone to explain brushing twice a day flossing and mouthwash. The mouthwash they gave me might of been over a hundred and causes shallow breathing I had five panic attacks before I wondered if it was the mouth wash and a side effect is shallow breathing I didn't get a side effect list they just told me to use twice a day for two weeks. After I called and left two messages I waited a week. No call back. I went to Aspen with my mom on Monday June 24th they had us wait about 45min. The staff all kept coming out to look at my mom and I. The dentist hid in the back and had the office manager explain why I needed the procedure (she's not a dentist) she said they couldn't refund me. I told her my tooth is chipped and my teeth all shifted and feel horrible she said I don't know what to say about that. I told her it is going to cost me more money to get that fixed. And told her my gums didn't even bleed weren't inflamed and didn't bother me until i got that procedure done. And that it was unnecessary and they just wanted my money. I asked her why they made it sound like a cleaning? She admitted to my mom and I that's how they phrase it. I told her it was a money making tactic. And if they would of explained the procedure correctly instead of calling it a deep cleaning I wouldn't of had it done. All I wanted was a cleaning and to see if I needed fillings. We let them know we're calling the better business bureau ect. For fraud ect. I called them today to have them fax my x-rays to a good family dentist in town. The gal was very rude and said I needed to come and sign a release form at both dentists. She didn't sound happy I wanted my x-rays. I'm on SSDI and don't wanna have to pay for more x-rays. I only make 800$ a month. And paid them almost 800$. They refunded me the fourty dollars I paid part for the filling I haven't gotten yet do to tooth pain. My teeth throb and make this clicking noises. I'm beyond mad.

Aspen Dental Painful bedside manner, denture, being ignored

I absolutely hate having to put my business out here, its embarrassing.
However, I came in with a broken flipper that was still being worn.
We were there only to purchase a new partial.
We made it very clear to the dentist we didn't want the orginal flipper touched until we were satisfied with the new partail.
MJ a staff member quickly asked to see the broken flipper. I handed it over. She says "oh this is so easy to fix." I said, oh no I don't want this to be fixed today, as we started walking to the front desk she said "oh no let us fix it real quick so you can go eat.
( I don't eat with it) I refused, multiple times. She took off with my tooth saying all she has to do is add something to it.
I was in a panic. I was trying to tell my husband who was talking to Hanna. She took my tooth. I said, "they're going to mess it up."
I was so upset & didn't know what to do. Although I wanted to I couldn't just start yelling & enter their work space.
I wanted to wait until I had a finished fitted product.
It didn't make sense to have them fix my partail without knowing if Aspen could make an accurate new partail.
When they brought it back the fit was awful. I was so upset. MJ asked to see the roof of my mouth & tried acting as though she could see it fits, it didn't fit.
They insisted "it's ok we can fix it we just have to break it again." What!? Well I couldn't wear it out the door so I had to let them do that. They brought it back a second time. This time didn't fit either but I could wear it, they said we can fix it we will have to break it again. I said No!
The dentist could tell how unhappy I was & said we can fix it  to fit after we finish your other denture, Okay. Fine.
Now my partail that I did love (Even broken) is still messed up & because I'm terrified to let anyone touch it now my original flipper now scratches on the front of the tooth,   & the acrilic that was added isn't the same material (cheap).

Second, When I came in to get my tooth fitted we found out the original dentist had left that office. We we're very confused but went with it.
When I put in the partial there were large gaps on each side of the tooth, awful!
I said "no, I can't take this like this.'
MJ & the new dentist said it looks great ( fake happiness, like I'm a dog that can't see but only be happy because of their tone).
The new dentist said we can't fix that's just the way it is.
They both tried telling me it looked GREAT. said, "I'm not taking this."
They said ok but we will have to reschedule since the tech is not here.
When we went back I was told they would have to restart the mold it because the original mold broke. They did not redo the wax try in, just a top mold.
When they brought back the new tooth,
I told them it doesn't fit and I really don't like the gap in the front.
They talked me into taking it home and trying it out. On my way out, I was crying about how I did not like the partial, MJ said " at least it looks better than the gap that was already there". I was already insecure!
I cried everyday for more than a week.

Furthermore on the lighter side of this  unprofessional treatment
I was not told about my options on partials.
I was not told which package I would be receiving for 600$. I received the same quality of materials from aspen that I did from a competing denturist for $250
& received your so called classic pack for $400 from another competitor.

They took my money, $600, & tried doing the least amount of work that they could do then tried to pressure (bully)  me into taking whatever they had for me.

Aspen Dental Everything from start to finish unsatisfactory

the peace of mind promise money back guarentee was definately not done here.. the overall experience was not great i have dental anxiety as it is i felt the doctor was short with me. rude i went in wanting a service that after i went through the whole process was informed they didnt provide that service at this location and i said it wouldve been nice to know, the lady i talked to on the phone i told her exactly what i was wanting, she didnt inform me of this. i decided to go with the partial thinking they have a lab onsite surely this will be a good place to have it made. when i received the denture i wore it and it was in need of major adjustmjent had my mouth face so sore, i was letteraly in tears. when i called to tell them this was on a thursady they didnt fit mein, i had to wait until monday. we all know our smiles are important when i smiled with that partial in you could see where it clasped on in the front, the whole point is so that its not noticeable and you feel confident with your partial not only that the color didnt match my teeth so it really stood out and looked so fake. i have paid my bill and returned the partial. i asked about getting my money back and they said no. this is a money back guarentee says so right on the site. i had better work done at a generic dentist and i will never go to an aspen dental again or reccomend it to anyone. i would kindly ask you to refund my money on the partial. location 3901 bolger rd independence mo64055 [protected] s mael

Aspen Dental I received a crown it was put in incorrectly it broke my tooth now I need a implant

I went to Aspen dental they told me I needed a crown I had cracked my tooth in half the doctor prepped my tooth took an impression sent it out they called me back told me the crown was ready I go back to the doctor prop my tooth is no longer there new doctor tries to put crown on and says there's no margin on the crown I am a dental lab technician by trade so the second doctor re-preps my tooth takes impression if you like weeks later I get called to come back I go back he places the tooth the crown never cleans in between might Never cleans in between my teeth so their cement between my teeth I go home the next day I brush my teeth and I can feel something in between my tooth which is putting pressure on me and my mouth it was the cement that was between my teeth so I take a crown floss or crown floss or not I'm sorry bridge floss or go in between I go to floss it pops my tooth off which in turn breaks my tooth in half so small that I cannot even get another crown put on extremely disappointed in this place I've called for a refund I still have not received one

Aspen Dental Comfylite dentures

I'm 48, disabled and my teeth took a turn for the worse a couple of years ago. I was unable to take care of them like I always had and made the mistake of going to Aspen. I went for a consult and was told I needed Dentures but now I'm wondering if I really do or if they made the decision based on me being desperate. After speaking with the dentist I was taken to the financial department and given a quote of what I would owe after my insurance paid. I came up with the money and waited on them to call so I could come in to pick the shade of the teeth before my dentures was made. But that didn't happen and when the date was set to come in for extraction I received a email moving the date and that was done 3 times, finally I just got fed up and just showed up at the office. I saw a tray with my name on it and asked to see the teeth, I was shocked to see what looked like baby teeth and most definitely not white but a dingy off white color. I was also told my insurance wouldn't cover the top dentures which was the Comfylite and without notifying me they dropped them to the next to last model. They knew this early on but was still going to extract my teeth and put those things in their place. I was shocked that they would do this! I placed my trust in them...and all along they were deceiving me. I know this is a rambling message but I was devastated to know I couldn't put those in my mouth so I still have decaying and missing teeth. I don't want them doing this to anyone else and not to sound over dramatic I have suffered emotional distress and embarrassment. I want to stop them because they are taking advantage of people that need help.

I believe Aspen dental lied to me and ripped me off I went in for a simple tooth extraction. The cost was $250 but they said I needed a tooth cleaning first which ended up being $2200. Because I was in a lot of pain I agreed to the tooth cleaning but was misinformed on the cost. My teeth are definitely not worth the alleged deep cleaning that they did they should've known less but they were just out to rip me off

Aspen Dental Insurance fraud

As a previous employee of Aspen Dental, I have witnessed providers billing out to insurance companies for services that were never rendered and/or overdiagosing and overtreating patients on countless occasions. They will create an elaborate treatment plan in order to bill out for a moe expensive procedure than the one that was actually needed. Completely unethical and blatantly fraudulent!

Aspen Dental The entire experience

After my experience up and down the line, would not use Aspen Dental if my life depended on it and will write as many reviews as I can find about the experience.
I am new to this area, Aspen just opened in Walgreens. Called and made appointment, provided insurance coverage at that time.
During the week of the appointment started getting "urgent that I respond" text messages. Called the number indicated. After going through an IVR menagerie, spoke with someone and explained bad text message and IVR experience. The person cold transferred me to the office. Whereby I explained same thing. Was told I had to confirm the appointment with the office, which I explained I had already done through previous text messages. Was told I had to provide insurance information to office, which I explained I had already done when I made the appointment. Women in the Palatka office explained I made reservation through call center and that information provided previously did not convey. Then asked me "are you going to give me the insurance information or not", rude. And told me she was sorry I am unhappy. That is NO apology. And I have good reason to be unhappy. If this is going to be the experience before I even get to an appointment, then forget it. Nor does it convey the problem between the reservation desk and your automated processes to the back office dentist. Fix your processes Aspen dental! I work in an industry with this type of technology day in and day out. This is the worst implementation I have ever seen. After the rudeness of whoever took my call in the office and the fact the information I am giving you will never reach corporate, I will find another dentist. And I will be submitting this same review and experience on as many sites as I can find. Shame on you Walgreen's to be associated with these people in the same building and advertising on their behalf.

Aspen Dental Combination of consumer fraud and malpractice

On May 22 I had all of my upper teeth pulled and all but 5 pulled on bottom for dentures and partial. To start off I wanted all of my teeth pulled but they insisted that I keep 3 teeth to hold bottom plate in, said I would regret getting all pulled due to bottom dentures won't stay. Day of surgery they pulled all but 5 decided two of the teeth were ok! Dentist had to cut partial that was already made. He put 2 stitches in my gums .

A couple days after surgery I went back to get adjusted, educated Dentist that my upper left side of face was I. extreme pain he said it was common to feel such pain! A week passed and I had a knot on left side of face! Told him again that the pain on left side was extreme dentist reply was to give it time that there was probably little slivers of bone trying to work it's way out! Another week or to goes by and knot is not showing any signs of going down so once again I returned to him and explained the pain he replied it was nothing I did! Several more weeks in pain and still couldn't eat due to the misfit of dentures and severe pain in left upper jaw! I felt something hard in my gums so as the dentist had explained there could be lil slivers of teeth I got my tweezers and started to pull it out! I was in shock because this white mass came out of my gums! It was the lining they had put in my mouth right after getting them pulled ( have photo of it, I took the piece of hardened material straight to Aspen! I showed it to the office manager and she said what is that? I told her I would like to know as well! So I patiently waited for the dentist to see me! He came in and ask me what I needed I explained the incident to him and he said it was normal! Not believing this for a minute! I kept getting sick with bad headaches so I went to the er thinking what if there is more? The dr who seen me I explained and showed her the foreign body I had pulled out of my mouth! She wanted to know what it was I explained to her and she proceeded to tell me she wanted me to have a mri or ct to make sure that there wasn't anymore in my gums or anywhere else! I explained to her of the pain I was having and the headaches! This is all in medical records from er! Dr proceeded to tell me that my TMJ was causing a lot of the problem and that I needed dentures that properly fit. Next visit at dentist I explained what the dr had told me and he said I couldn't get a better fit due to the fact that it takes a year for them to heal!
I also complained everyone I was in there that I didn't care for the dentures he said I would like the permanent pair better!
In January I got it was finally time to get my permanent teeth! I got the upper dentures and I told the dentist that the teeth looked to big to me. He said they looked nice. I asked where my partial was and his reply was I didn't think you were getting the partial! Do I had to wait to get them! I got the partial several days later and told the dentist I was not happy because there was gaps between my real teeth and the partial, and gums of my partial were purple! I was on my lunch break from my job and didn't have time to argue told him I would be back to discuss what was my next option because I was dissatisfied with them! I made the appointment on my day off which was several weeks later when I went back it was a new dentist! I explained I wasn't happy at all that I really just wanted my money back! I told him the gums were discolored and he said after time they fade it hadn't been a month since I received them! He was telling me that he could make me happy patient but not that day he didn't have time he was booked up! I made yet another appointment and at this time he said he was going to fix the gaps so I said ok! He proceeded to tell dental assistant what to do! In meantime he went and seen other patients. He came back in and said let me take a look at them! He said I'm going to take them out, but wouldn't come out they were now cemented to my other teeth! He had to chisel the partial put away from my other teeth 15-30 minutes he ask assistant why she didn't take out already. I was very upset with this because he said it was done improper. So yet again still unhappy I made another two appointment to get the partial remade they had an excuse ever-time. A year has going by the medal on my partial broke. I called and told them I needed them fixed they proceed to tell me they are only guaranteed 6 months at time of purchase they told me upper was 7 and partial was two! They charged me 7000 dollars and I still can't eat with them in due to the discomfort!

I tried suing them in small claims but alabama law is against you if you dont have expert witnesses. They used high priced lawyers to try to block case 5 times and used them in court to win even though Dr Rotwein said in open court that signing his release allowed him to do whatever he wanted plus specific things he was told admantly not to do, Dr Shah will play all innocent but she is the biggest liar in the biz and has her cutsey little girl canned speech about everything your fault and she good, Dothan aspen(Vwhich is good) refused to work on the dentures she testified in court were good etc and they looked like crazy clown teeth, RUN FROM THIS PLACE OF PAIN AND MISERY all they want is your money and do whatever they please with compliance of crooked judge in small claims

Aspen Dental Dental work

I had $7, 600 worth of teeth work done my top teeth from canine to Canine where ground down and Cat each tooth was supposed to be root canaled before it was capped however that was never done I complained about the pain throughout the three months process due to not getting the root canal and instead of fixing it they pushed pain pills on me that I didn't want for 3 months in a row now anytime I ask for help they refuse me they don't accept her a complaint hi originally asked for dentures which would have cost me $5, 000 roughly however the dentist insisted that I just got the implants then ended up costing a total of $7, 900 and I paid $3, 600 out-of-pocket then received a bill a year later stating they've never been paid however I have check stubs from the bank as well as an insurance statement to prove for a fact otherwise on top of that the teeth that they installed have broke away my bottom teeth due to not being fitted correctly please help

Aspen Dental Overcharging

In Nov 2018 I went to see about having lower dentures. I was given a quote of $399 for the lower dentures. I agreed and set up a time to do the work. 5 months later I get the bill and they are charging me $832 for the denture. When I asked about this I was told that the woman that gave me the quote should not have told me $399 and that I must be mistaken. I have paperwork that shows that was the quote that I was given and the office mgr just said that it was too bad and that I was responsible for $832. Unfortunately, Aspen Dental offices are independently owned and there is no corporate office to complain to. I may have to pay the $832 but you can be rest assured that anyone that I have a reason to tell about this will hear about the way that they do business. I am sure that filing a report like this is probably futile at best, at least I have said my peace

Aspen Dental Being charged twice for the same things — double billing

Bernie Zeitler--Got another bill for $$468. These items were on the first bill. Double billing is illegal and you need to delete this bill. Also believe your prices are way too high which you don't tell people until they get there and then are in pain and are shocked when the bill seems double what it should be. Account number for the duplicate bill is #[protected]. If we don't hear from you, then we will contact the appropriate boards as well as our attorney general here in our state of Michigan. You cannot bill for the same thing twice. Plus the x rays are supposed to be free so you can also take off the Charge for $82.00 as well.

Further it concerns me that there is encouragement to use care credit telling customers that it will be 'interest free'. If a customer get's it to help with paying extremely high amounts over time they discover that the plan they choose is not interest free but high interest.Resulting in making it even more un affordable and painful.

Aspen Dental account billing and deviation from dental plan agreement

A year ago I gave Aspen Dental a great review on Google .But now I am not sure about Aspen ethics. I am a patient at Aspen Dental on South Robert Street in West St. Paul, MN. I first had my upper denture replaced and said I could not afford both upper and lower at that time. I set up a payment arrangement with my bank to start building credits towards my lower denture . A treatment plan was set up and the cost was to be $1, 354.00 after paying 9 monthly payments I set up an appointment to have the lower dentures done. I have 4 teeth remaining on the bottom which removal was included in the price. I made clear to the office worker at that time that I expected to pay the same $399.00 for the lowers as I did for the uppers it was a matter of financing and income she said she would charge me the same price as the uppers were. After my appointment a new office worker who replaced the previous one said there was a mistake and I will be charged twice the amount! I expect to pay the amount I was quoted when I first set up my treatment plan. I have the original plan and the shocking new one for collaboration should you require it.
