awning and sign
We signed a contract with Ancient Mariner Awnings & Signs Ltd (BC1172160) to remove the existing awning and sign from our business, to paint the building and to install a new awning and a new sign. We signed the contract February 6, 2019 and gave them a 50% deposit to do the work. As of today, September 24, 2019 the project is still not completed. The owner has been contacted either by email or by phone on an almost weekly basis and he promises that the work will be done within the week, which of course it has not been the case. It is only after legal threats that they have started the project. The sign and awning were removed but the holes and bolts from the removal did not get fixed or filled prior to painting. The building was painted and the new awning was installed with many issues with the third party installers. The sign has yet to be installed.
We have not asked for any changes to the specifications outlined in the contract that stated the job would be completed in 8 weeks and we are now 8 months later.
unpaid debt
Ken Meiklejohn hired our company to serve and file provincial court legal documents for him in the beginning of October. After being asked for a company credit card numerous times (as is usual practice), Mr. Meiklejohn promised that a company cheque would be in the mail at the end of October. Our office received no such cheque. We have emailed him and called and continually hear the usual excuses any debtor gives when they can pay their debt. "The cheque is in the mail, etc. This guy is such a fraud that even the court staff warned me not to do any work for him without being paid first, as "everyone is after him", and "good luck collecting". Nobody should ever do work for this man, or company.

I have reviewed this matter. You submitted 2 invoices for a total of $304.88. I forwarded them to accounting for payment. They were not paid as the billing name was incorrect. You have since posted the above online. Unfortunately for you the line on slander has been crossed. You should be ashamed of yourself for making such comments.
As well, you sent me an email stating that you would mark the posts are resolved if payment was made by March 29th, 2016. You are an unsecured creditor that may or not be owed a minor amount of money. In my opinion, this is blackmail and extortion. This will not be tolerated.
Because you have crossed the line and made the slanderous comments and this particular web site will not remove posts without a court order I will be instructing our lawyer to file a Notice of Civil Claim in British Columbia Supreme Court. Since you have also made comments about the court staff we will be adding them in as defendants. There is no way out for you.
I will be seeking costs, special costs and damages in excess of $100.000.00.
Govern yourself accordingly.
