ampath - unhygienic practices in klerksdorp (4 philip gerber branch)
The blood draws are negligent in that the person drawing blood never washes hands in between blood draws (my friend and I went together and our blood was drawn directly after each other). I have gone there several times in the last year and have watched the staff very closely. Hands are NEVER washed after drawing blood or before helping a new patient/client. There isn't even a hand sanitizer in the blood draw room. Gloves are also not worn. This is very very risky in that the person drawing blood could infect the patient with numerous disease via skin to skin contact; especially if any blood were to be present on his/her hands. I shall be informing everyone I know of this, including the health board of South Africa. Change your practices ASAP, and monitor your staffs actions! The last thing the world needs is HIV transmission and/or Hepatitis due to unhygienic actions, especially at trusted facilities such as these. My skin was touched with bare, unwashed hands to stimulate a vein and then a needle was inserted into the skin. I am now very worried about possible disease transmission which is a possibility. Hand washing or hand sanitizer takes a few moments only. Please think of our safety as patients/clients.
Test results
In April 2016 I was in Cape Town and requested Ampath to do some testing on my son. It has been 6+ months and we have not received the results. Now, I got a message saying my outstanding account been handed to a debt collector. I cannot believe it. My Doctor and everyone, even medical aid is awaiting the results and Ampath has done nothing, no results, but they want the money for what service I ask.
Useless account dept.
After our twins was born 19/2/2010 and endless blood tests ( they spend 6 week in New Natale ICU), we received a account from Dr Du Buissons and partners (part of the AMPATH group) for services rendered, I paid the account and later paid money over on a monthly basis into the same account number. Unfortunately I did not pick up the the funds were reversed later in the months. Later I received correspondence from Vericred that I did not settle my accounts to AMPATH. After a lengthy correspondence, I picked up that all the payments I made was reversed due to the fact that the account I used as reverence number on my transfers was closed. I had to pay Vericred(part of AMPATH) for their collections. This was 31/12/2010. Now we received correspondence that there is 2 more account, also dating March 2010. SMS notification amounts differs from e mail. The end not, there is yet another account, all basically older than a year, when does it stop. I do not mind paying for service rendered, but in competence!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have been contacted by a company collecting debts on behalf of Ampath for an amount of 998.00 for tests done on Ariela oliveira last year November. I have never received an invoice and know nothing about this debt. Please provide invoice and dates ect what this was for?
