American Signature Furniture american signature furniture - poor quality/worse service

Bought a East Village Queen Panel Storage Bed recently from Smyrna Georgia branch and here's what I have to say...

Piece of crap. I looked around at several furniture stores and bought this bed because I wanted a "Solid" Wood platform bed with drawers underneith. I asked the sales person twice if it was "Solid" wood (as I knew many beds I looked at other places were not) which she replied yes it's all "Solid" wood. Apparently even the clearly defined term "Solid Wood" now has any meaning you want, because when I brought it home took it out of the box the next week I could clearly see most pieces I took out were made of Particle board wrapped in a veneer. This was exactly what I wanted to avoid all along since I know from experience particle board is crap and your lucky to get 5 years out particle furniture without getting lots of nicks and/or other serious damage.

When I tried to assemble the bed a couple of joint pieces were removed for some reason, so I tried to screw them back in only to realize they were left off because the screw holes were stripped already.

I was told by sales the bed had a lifetime warranty on defects of the bed. This was clearly a defect to me. So I called the store to return the bed, only to find out a return could only be done within "7" days of the purchase. That's right only 7 days. I've never heard of such a short return policy.

I talked to the manager who would only keep reiterating I could not return it, but they could have a service technician come out and try to fix it or replace defected parts. After explaining the whole story to him and how the genesis of my compliant is really that I was lied to about the product, I realized I was not going to get anywhere.

So now I'm stuck with a piece of junk that they will try to repair. But here's the thing. The defective joints that screw in to hold these very heavy pieces of pho wood together are just way too small for the job. And so I'm stuck with a poorly built product that maybe they can band-aid together and most definitely will later break again.

So bottom line is I would be very cautious about buying anything from ASF. And make sure you inspect and return a bad product immediately since they have a ridiculously short 7 day return policy.

All that being said, to give them the benifit of the doubt, I have bought a book case and desk from them which I was happy with at a branch that's now been closed. So maybe the store is in dire straights from the recession and really coming apart at the seams.

American Signature Furniture vanity mirror assemble

I ordered a bed, sofa, dining table and vanity mirror on may 21, 2010. They delivered the bed, dining table/chairs and vanity mirror.on the 3rd of june. They assembled the bed but not the vanity mirror because they told us that they don't have the screws for it. They will just come back when they have the screws. At that time they didn't delivered the sofa because it was a back-order. The following day as we sat on the chair, it was broken. We called the customer service and told them about the vanity mirror and the chair. Nothing happened. I waited for three weeks, until I decided to go back to the store. They told me that they will call me when they have the screws for the mirror. They delivered the sofa on the 28th of june but did nothing on the vanity mirror when all it need was screws. They have a display of that vanity
mirror when I went there. I even asked if I could just have that and they told me no because it was a display. I have a vanity where the mirror was just laying on the floor and a broken chair which by the way, they told me it was a back order. I waited again and it's almost two months so I went back to the store again. I told them I'm just gonna exchange my dining table which they did but still no screws for my vanity mirror. I just told them is it so complicated to go to Home depot or Lowes for that screws. It was so frustrating the way they handle their customers. They should replace their customer service people for they cannot relay messages. I was so disappointed the way they handle the situation.

Bought queen bedclassic cherry headboard/footboard/rails and slats#rf-320r153q-g cost $213.99 . At home assemble bed found acrack on bottom of head board. Icalled the store and advise them of my problem, was told to bring bed back I have no means of transport to return the bed I paid to pick the bed up for me.I said i will have to pay another money to return the be d costing more than the bed, so I told the acting manager at the store give me a discount then i might be able to fix the item myself they refuse . pleas help me solve this problem and take this product off the market I think it is a recall lots of people has return this product the sale store people told me. American Signature Furniture drivers / helpers do drugs

Warning to all potential customers: do not buy from american signature furniture also known as value city furniture in upstate ny delivery driers / helpers are drug addicts! Fayetteville ny and clay location both use the same drivers / helpers! Beware!
The guys that work in the warehouse and deliver your furniture, (Both drivers and helpers) are drug users. The store only does an initial drug test upon hire which everyone of them purchased fake urine on the internet to pass! The drivers helpers do not get random tests!
These are people that we as consumers allow into our houses! Several warehouse employees show up daily either drunk from the night before or high off the drugs or pills they're addicted to. One of the driver helpers has even recently been arrested. His name is mike nguyen. He was arrested for resisting arrest, drug possession (Cocaine & marijuanna) and disorderly conduct on may 23rd, 2010. He is still employed by this company which means he is still delivering to your house. Please check out his photo: http: / / www.Facebook.com / mr. Vnam. Or the photo below! Make sure he doesn't step foot in your house. . However he's just one out of the many!

I can not belive this employer isn't taking the proper / necessary steps for the consumers safety! I nor anyone that i know will be buying furniture @ this place anymore!

I'm a customer and also a friend of an employee, who simply can't believe the things this company lets these warehouse workers get away with. The facebook link is the picture that was posted on the main page, if you knew a thing or two about facebook you should know you don't have to be someone's friend to see their main photo. Trust me, I do NOT have friends like this character. He was prosecuted for all of the above...and to put things lightly you can't be sued over something thats true. Its called freedom of speach.
I purchased a lot of my furniture from this store, and unfortunately once my friend(employee) showed me the proof, I will no longer shop there. I think every consumer has the right to know who is going into their house. American signature has strick policies on background checks however thats just to get your foot in the door. Personal vendetta has nothing to do with it...these people should be tested randomly as stated in their policy handbook. They seem to let the right people slip away and the wrong people continue to work.
So let me ask both of you a simple question...due to the fact that I never stated these people don't deserve jobs...however if they want to keep and NEED a job...then don't you agree they should stay off drugs? Not sure if you know anything about drug users or dealers but they steal and scam people for their habit, they're dishonest period. Would you want someone like this having access to your house...to know what type of items you have...scanning the value of it...and possibly back to rob you? I THINK NOT!

Wow, you people are So Judgemental. The one guy has no theft or any significant criminal charges against him. If they are professional during work hours than what difference does it make to you? Some people have nothing better to do, but to ruin other peoples chances at success. I really hope all of these people that you bitter lowlifes are bashing do so much better in life than you inconsiderate A Holes. All of you will fail for trying to ruin other peoples lives. I personally hope that everyone of you see what its like to have a family member or someone close to you addicted to drugs. Hopefully they steal all of your money and you end up on the street begging Value City for a job.

They absolutely should be randomly tested at least once a week. Unfortunately a lot of employes are not willing to pay the money for it which is sad, They would rather have some pile of ### working there for a super low wage. In time this guy will for sure f up bad and get fired. I have plenty of experience with addicts and dealers and for sure thats all they do is steal, scam, and rob you off. Probably the reason I opt to pick up my own stuff I order instead of having it delivered. I don't even trust our maintenance man in our house. Maybe I am just a negative A-Hole but I dont trust anyone

I hate to tell ya riddled but drugs are soooo common among the work place these days. I worked for an attorney service and the owner was high on coke all the time and I knew this because I witnessed it. Anyone can fake a drug test and a lot of labor employers will sweep it under the rug like its no big deal.

American Signature Furniture bad qaulity

Purchased a couch from them in Jan-March or 2009. Reason being between JAN - MARCH, didn't have the couch in stock finally delivered then it was defective, got another missing legs/ got another missing legs and sagging, sent a guy out and installed legs "NOTE the repair guy was very good", but you can only do so much when fixing junk. When they opened the cover underneath It was very clear that the furniture is garbage, it seems to be made of old pallet wood- the type of wood that they use to deliver products on. They repaired it and I thought it be okay, but after months the couch really sagged, I called and they would not do anything for it, I was offered a refund but I wanted it fixed and thought I'd still give them the benefit. After the repair it last for a a few months and started sinking/sagging again. I called and was informed they offered me a refund before MINUS DELIVERY CHARGES and I thought that was crazy, I should lose any money because they sell low quality furniture, NOTE : had taken a few hours of work 2 x's to pick -up the original purchase. Now 1 year later the legs fell of when trying to move it to clean. I offered the couch for sale, for less than 1/2 of what I paid just to get rid of it, to no avail 7 people that came to look at it thought it looked great but was horrible to sit on, I finally offered it to a friend to use in their rec room w/ their kids- they didn't even want it because of how bad it sags.
The bottom line, I will never buy another product from American Signature Furniture again, nor the co who's name is on it Rooms Today. Actually the people that came to look at it when offered for sale realized the poor quality of the furniture and realized they wouldn't even waste their time shopping there.

The main problem is, when I 1st went to purchase the couch- they wouldn't sell the one off the floor, and they kept getting replacements in for instead of the floor model ? makes me wonder if it was a bait and switch from the beginning. And after seeing the construction of old pallet wood used to make them !

I've realized NEVER AGAIN as well as anyone I know will we shop at American Signature or rooms to go stores. Pay a little more from a Real Furniture Store...

American Signature Furniture lie after lie

We were moving and needed a sofa and love seat. When we first inquired, we were told that delivery takes between 3 and 4 days, so we decided to make the actual purchase closer to the date of our move. When we made the actual purchase, they were suddenly "very busy" and the delivery date changed to 11 days after our purchase. Two days before the scheduled delivery we received a call informing us that the sofa would be delivered, but the love seat was no longer available, even though, at the time of purchase, there were supposedly 55 of these sets at the distribution center. The customer service rep didn't seem to know why the love seat was no longer available; "Perhaps the manufacturer discontinued it. Would you like to make another selection?" "NO WAY! Just refund my money IMMEDIATELY!" After reading these posts about the quality of the product, I am actually happy that they made such a mess of things.

American Signature Furniture defective recliner sofa

I purchased a dual sofa recliner and was told by the saleslady all furniture is inspected before delivery. So May 26th 2010 my sofa arrives...on June 2nd the recliner won't go up or down. It is locking. My husband looked at the bottom of the sofa and the support rail on the back left side is bent which was stopping the recliner. I called ASF on June 2 as the weekend was the Memorial Holiday weekend. I was told I had to call within 7 days, and now have to wait TWO weeks for someone to come out and look at the sofa. Seriously, technically, upon counting business days it was only 5 days. The sofa just needed to be replaced. I can't understand why you would make a customer wait two weeks for someone to come out and look at a bent thick piece of metal and then wait another week for probably for which will be a replacement anyway.
NEVER SHOPPING HERE AGAIN. I am going to the Furniture Consignment Shop where I get to sit on what I am actually buying...not sit on a sofa in the showroom and get shipped a piece of junk later. Period.

Yo tambien lo compre y sufri una desepcion horrible pague $100.00 y luego vi en un catalogo lo ofrecian por $50.00 los llame y me ofrecieron embolsarme la diferencia con el envio de otra botella del producto y me mintieron, jamas lo hicieron y por cierto el producto no cumple con lo que ofrece livariz en realidad no cura, no alivia, no hace desaparecer las venas.Yo le explique a la vendedora mi situacion tan dolorosa y lo que hizo fue reise luego una trata de comunicarse dirctamente con eternelle pharma y es inutil son una estafa.

Purcahsed sofa bed 2/3/10. paid cash picked up on 2/5/10 shorted 2 rust pillows. reported on 2/5/10 spoke with marquis satated he will order replacment. after 105 days and repeated phone calls to marquis scott melinda and 3 e mails. we are still with no pillows. my receipt states 6 pillows and we have only rec 4. this company has terrible customer service.in todays ecnomy. you would think they would want to take care of their customer. very frustrated..

American Signature Furniture warranty

I reached purchased a leather sofa from American Signature Furniture at 2540 Cumberland Blvd in Smyrna, GA. The sales lady talked me into buying the leather warranty on the sofa for nearly $300. She told me that the warranty covers 'everything' as long as we tell them what ever happen to the leather was an accident.

Recently, I discovered a few very deep scratches on the leather and called American Signature Furniture about the scratches. I was promptly told that the warranty does not cover scratches. I then talked to the warranty company and they told me the same thing. They did tell me that it covered tears but since I already told them it was a scratch they would not cover. I then asked if I took a knife and made a tear in the sofa before I called about the scratch would it be covered. They told me it would.

I have had the most difficult time with this issue. I have to call repeatedly before anyone will return my calls at American Signature Furniture. They are very rude when I try to discuss the issue.

I would not recommend American Signature Furniture to even my worst enemy! With the service I have received over this issue I will never be a customer of American Signature Furniture again!

American Signature Furniture false advertisement

In September of 2009 I saw a Labor Day Ad for a 3 piece leather set for $600.00. I went into the store and was pleased on how it looked. A salesman assisted me and I applied for credit. I did not get the one yr no interest, however i was approved through another financing company. I did the paperwork and I was told that I would expect to receive my furniture in early part of Oct. In October I was called and told that I would not see anything until the ending of October. When the ending of October came, they gave me another date in November which was before Thanksgiving. I was given an actual date. I received a call and I was told to come pick it up on a Thursday. I went and got a pickup truck and went after work and there was nothing. I was giving this excuse that they had received a batch of furniture that was not to their standards and sent it back. Now I had no furniture and Thanksgiving was coming. I received a call that they would not receive anymore of that set and would give me $200.00 off on whatever I wanted. Now I live on a budget and $600 was what I could afford. They had nothing in the store that I could afford or pleased with. Another ad came out that they had this small leather secional and I went into the store to purchase it. Now keep in mind 90days have passed and my old contract wa null and void. They still sold me the sofa, gave me the $200 off and when we went to pick up the sofa it was damaged. I took pictures and told them and they had the nerve to tell me to bring it back to them. They had inconveninced me for over 3 months and they had the nerve to tell me this. "NOT RIGHT"! I specifically told them to come and pick it up because I was not satisfied with tears on the furniture. They refused to come get it and I did not have a truck to take it back to them. Now they want me to be responsible for paying for it. I refuse to pay it. If I was not satisfied with the product and asked them to come get it, they should have. I had 7 days to do so. They refused to come and get it. Well I'm not paying for it! It still sitting in my house and I do not want it. I cannot sell it because technically its not mine and they refuse to come and get it. I continue to get harrassment calls from the finance company to my job. It needs to stop! They didnt want to listen to anything I had to say about the whole situation in the first place so I have nothing to tell them anymore. This whole situation is messed up. I am contacting an attorney to see what I can do.

American Signature Furniture couch set

as of february 25, 2010 i ordered a 3 piece set of furniture and was told by ayoung girl that i could order this set and it could be in as of april 30, 2010 and i called on april 28th and was told that the chair of the set was not even obtainable anymore and the other two pieces would no even be in until the 21st may and that was not a 100 % thing and come to find out i was not the first person that it had happened to. so i waited two in a half months for absolutele nothing and was never informed of anything had to call and find out on my own so i have to say that i was unbelievably heart broken because this is my first placeand my first set of furniture that i fell in love with and everyone knows how it fells to fall in love with something and not b able to abtain. so all and all i have to say that i was very dissatisfied. so be aware of what you are ordering and make sure they will have it or actually order it.

American Signature Furniture broken promise

i am very upset with this furniture store. I walked into this store looking to buy furniture for my apartment on march 20, 2010. After about an hour in the store, i've made a decision to buy seven items. i called the sales person for help, he took down some ticket numbers and left. he then comes back a few minutes later and saids, "those items won't be available till april 1. i didn't want to accept that and told him, no deal i'm going somewhere else, and left. I go to several places and they tell me the same thing, I have to wait. So i decided to go back to american signature and buy only if they can promise me delivery on the 1st. of april. They said "yes". So a deal was made. I pay for the items in cash. On march 26 i get a call from the store saying that my furnature won't arrive till the 7th of april. I was upset, i called to complain and reminded them that the only reason i spent money in the store was because a promise was made. After 30 minutes of arguing my point and still unhappy, i settled for a small discount on the sale and accepted the new delivery date for april 7th. on april 3rd i get a call from the store again. telling me that my furnature will arrive on april 14! this time i walked in the store to demand my money back i'm canceling my order. they say i have a right for a refund but i have to wait till april 14 for my money! can you believe it! i am very upset with this store!

shopper please rememember when your walking into a large showroom of afordable exclusive designed furniture stop wandering around holding up your hands-up at professional sales furniture experts saying im just looking you got to connect to your sales person to qualify the best product to meet your needs in your design. sometimes certain items are featured get sold rapidly and are out of stock.most other furniture companies tell you 10 weeks out and even there products all get moved 10times or more before they arrive at the stores.can you imagine.. the furniture bussiness at all? american signature has alot to offer customer friendly carring salespeople and managers who will oblige you inexspesive newer looking styles you wont fine anywhere else be a better bussiness person instead of the typical hagler to get more discounts you got a better deal then you imagine from asf devotee

American Signature Furniture poor quality and structure

Purchased livingroom set 13 months ago for approiximately 2, 800. Recliner no longer reclines, I have to pull it out from the bottom, and large sofa began to sink in the middle. When purchased the furntiure was under the assumption that I purchased the extended warranty, however, was put in to the system wrong and told i have extended fabrick warranty. What good is the fabric if the structure is made of poor quality. DO NOT BUY FROM AMERICAN SIGNATURE

American Signature Furniture couch foam failing

1/5/09

I came into the Pinellas Park, FL showroom and spoke with a customer service rep, I explained that the foam on the couch I had purchased on 9-23-09 had degraded and they told me to bring it back and they would exchange it no problem, I started thinking this must be a ongoing problem with this piece of furniture and called back and said I would like to choose a different couch and their response was they would send someone out to look at the couch.
On December 30th a service rep came out looked it over, sat for a second in each position and after our conversation he said couches are made to be sat on in an upright position and not made to be laid on, basically saying it was my fault, he also found a small scuff. He probably didn’t put in his report the staple that he found from the manufacturing that is still in the couch. I don’t see either the staple or the scuff to be a reason or my being living single with a weight of 160lbs. for the couch to fail.
I called to find out on January 4th that from his inspection that they would not exchange or take care of the bad workmanship because of his comments. I asked for a service manager but was told they might be in tomorrow, I asked if they could call me in the morning and the person said they don’t know when they would be in and they have a lot to do but would call me sometime tomorrow.
January 5th, 4:15pm still no one has called, so I called, spoke to Asst. Manager /name removed/ and she said the store manager was not in and would call me back on the 6th.

American Signature Furniture crap sofa and sales person

I stepped into the America Signature shop near Lansdale PA. I finalized a sofa and asked the Sales Representative that if that can be shipped. He told Yes. Then we bought other furnitures too.
At the time of billing the gentleman representative(he does not deserve to be listed as gentlemen) told me that my address is 23 miles from the shop and he can not ship it.(He wasted my 3 hours).

Product Complaint:
Finally we bought another Kaitlin Torquoise Sofa. They exchanged the sofa twice still they supplied a very rubbish set(firts set that reached me was torn at base, Second replacement had a big dirty spot and the third one is even worse). The seats of the sofa are down from all sides now. The back Support is also lost it shape.The sofa i bough is not even $50 woth.

Service:
I opened a servce request in April and they called me in June to take a look. They were wasting my time so that I get frustrated and stop following them.

In August one of the Person from the shop came and said I need to flip my seats to keep them in Shape(ha ha ha).

What a rubbish idea to protect your product.

American Signature CArd:

Never open a card with these people. After getting frstrated with the services I filed a dispute with American Signature card. They did no enquiry and declared the case to be closed. They did not even informed me of the status. They lied of sending communication at my home. The bills they sent reached correctly at my address but the dispute status never reached me.

SO do ead this review before you visit their showroom.

I strogly refuse this company for purchase of furnitures.

They sell crap furniture and Salesmen are also pathetic (at least my experience with sales men is pathetic. The guy wasted 5 hours of mine).

American Signature Furniture cheap crap furniture

Add me to the list of " I should of read reviews b4 i purchased!" American Signature is the worst junk i have ever seen! YOU DON"T GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR ! I purchased a living set, entertainment center & two chairs. 2 of the 5 piece sectional set came ripped and torn, entertain was defective from manufacture. I have sat on the couch 2 days ( meaning relaxing at night to watch the news or sports - 2 hrs at most & under 180 lbs) the cushion is already deformed. If this is 2 days, what will it look like afta 2 yrs? Called cust service, manager could care less. Scheduled another delivery & a tech to fix. New pieces also deformed, threads coming out, substitute leather totally scratched. Delivery drivers could not get outta my house fast enough! I wanted them to take back and they told me to call the store. Obviously, words they had heard over & over. Tech never showed.
I did not expect a $10, 000 sectional for $2, 000, but did expect a little better that RIPPED cardboard, white suffing & air.
SUMMARY: worst made junk ! not worth any $$$. STAY AWAY !

I just assembled an American signature furniture bookcase for my mother. The metal used for the hardware is such cheap garbage. Under the force used required to rotate the locking mechanism that rotate around the screws caused the metal to sheer and strip. It is as if they used recycled soup cans to make the hardware.

STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM IT OVERPRICED GARBAGE

American Signature Furniture chairs from kitchen table are all breaking

I am making a formal complaint about your furniture. We were told at Value City Furniture that you stood behind your furniture and how good it is. It will last for a lifetime which is not happening. We bought a kitchen table and chairs and now 2 years later all of the chairs are falling apart. The parts of the chairs are breaking off and we paid good money for this set of furniture. I would like to see if American Signature will do something about this problem and fix it.

I bought 2 couches 2 years ago and they both have lost their softness and comfort. The ends that are for your arms to rest in comfort are also losing comfort. Like the filling is going bad already.

American Signature Furniture poor quality

I purchased a dinette set from American Signature Homes and within 6 weeks I noticed water damage to the point the paint was bubbling and scratched off. When i called Customer Service to ask about a warranty she said it does not cover water damage. I expained I was hoping to get some direction on how to fix the problem or avoid further damage and she said that i would have to contact an outside contractor to fix the problem and that any kind of standing water would cause damage. I told her that I chose not to go to Rooms To Go because I thought ASH had a 'better quality' of furniture, but i was obviously mistaken. Also, something to just add to while I'm at it. The chairs that were assembled do not line up straight so 3 out of the 6 chairs wobble slightly. My opinion, get a clear understanding of what is covered in the warranty and don't trust that expensive furniture is good furniture.

American Signature Furniture lack of good service

First of all, I would like to say that American Signature Furniture has (ALWAYS COME HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) FOR THE QUALITY AND STYLE OF THE furniture.

My husband and I purchased a living room sofa/recliner/SOFA BED WITH WARRANTY from
your North East Philadelphia store on October 13, 2008, NOT EVEN A YEAR AGO.
The recliner portion of the SOFA gets stuck and just recently the handle to release the
recliner came out in my hand.

been placed on hold for lengthy amounts of time just to be told that
the manager is busy and THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A RETURN CALL THAT NEVER TOOK PLACE. IN FACT, I’ve even been hung up on (they claimed it was an accident). All awhile I MAINTAINED PROFESSIONALISM WITH all of the staff that I came in contact with. When I finally spoke with a manager, it took them 2 weeks to send out an appraiser.

The appraiser took pictures of the furniture and stated that the damage
is covered by our warranty and that the store will contact us on the
following Monday to set up a time for the repair man to come out to fix
the recliner. AFTER RECEIVING NO CALL ON MONDAY, I called them on Tuesday and they stated that the pictures had not YET BEEN developed.

This sequence of events went on for two months. The appraiser came out
twice, told us the same story. Now, within those two months we had
purchased dinette set but decided not to keep this
set because of the service we were receiving. On Sept 14, 2009 I
called the store and spoke to a manager at that time. He reassured me
that he would get this matter resolved and he apologized for all the
inconvenience YET NOTHING CHANGED.

WE ARE EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED. YOUR REPRESENTATIVES ARE NOT CONSISTENT WITH ADHERENCE TO WARRANTY COVERAGE GUIDELINES MUCH LESS STANDARD CUSTOMER SERVICE LEVELS. YOUR COMPANY IS NOT STANDING BY ITS PRODUCT WHICH SHOULD HAVE A LONGER LIFE EXPECTANCY THAN 12 MONTHS.
AS A HARD WORKING CONTRIBUTOR TO SOCIETY AND A ONCE LOYAL CUSTOMER, I EXPECT AND DESERVE MUCH BETTER SERVICE THAN YOUR ORGANIZATION HAS PROVIDED.
