American Automobile Association [AAA] battery warranty

i have been a aaa member since 2013. my membership number is [protected]. On 8/20/2018 i purchased a battery for my 2000 toyota solara. over the past several months i have had trouble starting my car. i took it to a garage and they tested the battery. he showed me the test results which showed the battery needed replacement and that is why the car will, periodically not start. he told me to call aaa because it was under warranty and the battery was bad. i called aaa and they sent a service person to my home. aaa tested the battery and said their machine shows "replace battery soon". because aaa test was different, they said i would have to run the car until it will not start at all and then they will replace the battery. that puts me in a dangerous situation. what if i am driving at night, or in a dangerous place and finally the battery is completely dead. i put my safety at risk. the man who came on the service call said it was due to a recent policy change at aaa that they can't replace the battery. i should at least be grandfathered. if policy changes it should be from a certain point forward, when a new battery is sold. warranty should stand warranted as stated when I first bought the battery. iwant my battery replaced before i am put in danger. i am so upset and can't begin to state how so. i paid much more for the battery from aaa than it would have cost from a local garage and i paid this amount because i was assured that it was a great battery with a great warranty.

Desired outcome: replace battery

American Automobile Association [AAA] no show for tow

3/11/21 about 7pm I called for tow and was told it would be 2-2 1/2 hours so I found a couple of guys to help me push my 95 jimmy away from gas pump were it died and got a ride home. about 10pm I called and was told it would not be towed until 7am. so I called the kwik star Independence, Iowa 50644 where this happened and ask if this was ok, they said no and if it was not moved between 6-7am it would be towed and impounded. so I hired someone with a truck and trailer to move it for me. my name is Tony Birchard member # [protected]

Desired outcome: did not get call at 7am 3/12/21 and called and cancelled at 7:15am

American Automobile Association [AAA] Car damaged by aaa tow truck driver

On 2/21 I scheduled a tow through aaa for my car to be dropped off at a mechanic for service. The driver struggled getting the car loaded onto the flatbed at my home but eventually did get it loaded. I was contacted 9/22 by the mechanic that there was severe damage done to my car underneath. He forwarded me the pictures above from their surveillance camera. According to the service technician it looked as if the hook used to hoist the car up onto the flatbed and hooked to lower it off the bed had done the damage. Four lines under my car was ripped in half. These lines supply antifreeze to the back part of the car so the antifreeze had all ran out of my car per the technician. The repair is going to cost over $1400 which I can not afford and quite honestly I don't feel I should have to pay because it appears to be the fault of the tow driver. If you look at the pictures attached you can clearly see the damage and in the pictures of the car on the truck if you zoom in you are able to see before the car was in the parking spot there was no visible coolant in the parking lot. In the one picture if you zoom in it is very visible that there is a line of coolant that appears black in the picture from the spot where the driver pulled forward and began to back my car into the spot. This is my only vehicle and so I am now going to have to find some means of transportation to and from work until this is settled. I would appreciate assistance in this matter as soon as possible as I stated I have no transportation as of now and a full time job to go back to somehow tomorrow.

Desired outcome: I would like the repairs made to my vehicle as soon as possible and don't feel I am responsible for the charges

American Automobile Association [AAA] Services not received

I need a locksmith for my car key to be programmed to my car. We used my partners last service call for it, they dispatched one out to us but he showed up without the right equipment, then they dispatched a tow truck driver to tow it to the dealership but by the time they arrived the dealership had closed so they towed it to my house. I tried again by using one of my service calls however they sent a tow truck driver out to my house to unlock my car instead. So I am still needing a key programmed by a locksmith and or new key for my car as it won't start without it. So how do we get a locksmith out to my house to program my key with the right equipment for a 1998 infiniti Q45.

Desired outcome: My key programmed or a new key

American Automobile Association [AAA] Unethical behavior by aaa

On 1/7/2021 I called aaa to tow my car to my mechanic at that time i told the lady that was taking my call that I needed to arrange a tow of my car back the next day when my mechanic was fixed. She told me that I needed to call the next day that she could only open a ticket at a time. i said ok. Today I called and was treated like a piece of [censored] by TOYYA employee number 64344 a supervisor with AAA telling me that she didn't care what i was told yesterday that if my car was drivable they wouldn't tow it back to me. Well I called back and sure enough they had written down the issue so am now stuck with paying someone to drive me to my car. I had been with them since 2013 two different Premier memberships there most costly membership that you can have your car towed 3 times in a year I haven't used it for the last 5 years and this is the way they treat a member. I am cancelling this membeship as they don't stand behind they ill informed representative, all they can do is file a complaint thats it and me am stuck paying for a trip to my mechanic an hour away. AAA you lost two members today.

Desired outcome: Too late since i have to go get my car tomorrow morning 1/9/2021

American Automobile Association [AAA] Battery service

I cld AA on [protected], battery was boosted, drove the car, all ok. On [protected], car would not start, cld AAA service man sd I needed to take the car to AAA service cent. It would take 2 hrs to charge the battery. I bought the AAA battery for convenience, if they will not service the battery, I will never buy another battery from AAA, might as well go to AutoZONE. It would be very inconvenient to go to AAA service center and wait 2hrs for a charge. I am not willing to sit 2 hrs in the virus and wait to charge a battery.
Battery was 3 yrs old, warranty is 6, I was told that the a new battery would be prorated. no prob.
AAA battery purchase id not worth it!

American Automobile Association [AAA] Oct 8 tow from sf to wheelworks. Car was damaged during tow.

Aaa is not taking responsibility for damage done to my car from their hired contractor.

Someone at AAA was to get back to me in 7-10 days but did not.
They asked me to deal with tow company whom changed their story 4 x's
That was a nightmare of not answering, denying, blaming wheelworks and the story changing.
It was one whole week without my car
Legally it is the responsibility of AAA to handle.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Insurance

My car was caught in a parking lot by Black Lives Matter looters when they were leaving with the stolen property, they did damage to both sides of my car. I was told It is AAA policy that if Rioters or Ex-girl friends hit your car with more then one thing you have to pay 500 $ for each spot they hit your car with something, and it`s written as a separate claim. and could end up costing me more then the price of repair.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Membership Issue

Just after my AAA membership expired, I sent in a payment for $25.00. I did this due to a financially tight (and getting tighter) situation. I sent this payment with the intention to continue making payments until the membership fee was paid in full. The following months after I made this payment were even worse than I anticipated. When my employer cut my hours due to the pandemic, I was yet again in even worse financial shape. I could not send in any more payments.

A few days ago I checked with a customer service representative about the status of my account. The representative was polite and understanding. She stated that She would have to check and see if the existing payment I made would be credited to my membership fee. The representative got back to me and said that my $25.00 payment could not be credited to my account. In effect, AAA has taken this $25.00 and "run with it".

I believe this to be very unfair and I am asking for help in resolving this matter. If AAA believes this behavior is justified, then I would not want to do any business with them and I would no longer like to be a member.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Towing service

On 6/13 my car had a radiator pipe burst and it was towed by AAA to the nearest AAA repair center (since my regular shop was ~15 miles outside of the travel distance). On Monday 6/15 speaking with the repair shop over the phone, I was quoted prices ranging from $600, with considerable confusion and unproductive call. I was given no cohesive understanding of how replacing an hose could be so expensive. I requested a written estimate, where the price had increased to $1348 with insufficient information to explain what was I would be paying for (my expectation was to pay ~ $100-200 to replace radiator hoses. after 2 more calls I was finally able to determine that the cost was ~ ~$600 to replace the hose and busted water housing plus another $700 of optional fixes.
I left this engagement a great deal of distrust for the shop and decided I was uncomfortable having work done there. After speaking to my regular shop and receiving a price significantly lower, I decided to look into towing options.

On the morning of Tuesday 6/16 I called AAA to see if A tow from one repair shop to another was covered by my plan and I was told it was, because I had 5 tows a year per driver. That afternoon my son (also a AAA member) called AAA to have the car towed to my usual shop. He was never able to connect with the first driver (perhaps my sons phone did not register the call?) so he had to call AAA for a 2nd Tow. After waiting ~ 1.5 hours the 2nd tow truck arrived and picked up the car. The driver told my son someone would need to be at the destination. I was able to meet the driver at the destination where I was informed that the Tow was not covered and I had a bill for $117. I immediately called AAA to reconcile the situation. THis agent informed me that the tow was not covered (since the original shop was capable of doing the repairs). I have no concerns with the policy. My only concern was with the untruth (Being originally told the tow was covered) witch felt deceptive after the irregularities with the pricing.
The agent informed me he could log a complaint but there was nothing he could do until the compliant was investigated. I asked to speak with a supervisor. While On hold I was told by the tow truck driver that I needed to pay the full amount or he would tow the car back to his garage or call the police for theft of services. When the AAA agent came back from hold and informed me he had logged the complaint but had not contacted a supervisor I was irate. He suggested transferring me back to AAA roadside service where I was dropped in the start of the queue (asking what state I was calling from).
I gave up and paid the tow truck driver.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Defective battery aaa failed to replace

I live in Philadelphia, my membership is still through Maryland where I previously lived. My AAA number is [protected] 0. I contacted AAA when my car failed to start and I had to get a jump in NJ. The AAA tech came and said the battery was fine and didn't want to sell my a new battery when I didn't need one. On May 2, 2020, I tried to drive the car again and it was dead. Another AAA tech came and said that the battery was dead. I purchased an AAA battery for $167.40 The next week I was driving again and heard a noise. I asked AAA to tow the car to my mechanic. He could not replicate the noise and returned the car. On June 4, 2020 I tried to start my car to go to a doctor's appointment and the battery light came on the car made a noise. I had AAA tow the car to my mechanic. The mechanic replaced the alternator but told me the alternator voltage to charge the battery was low after he put a new one in and I needed to get the battery checked. He did several diagnostic test on the battery, including putting in another new battery. The other new battery did not show low alternator voltage with the mechanic supplied battery but when he put the AAA battery back it showed a low alternator voltage again. I called AAA and after 37 years AAA told me I had reached my limit for service calls. Are you kidding me... the first person you sent did not know what they were doing and told me the battery was fine. How dare you. Once I got that straight and waited over 4 hours for AAA to show up (including the last hour on the phone with roadside assistance who couldn't get a dispatcher in the Philadelphia are to answer the phone). The AAA tech showed from the AAA car care center at 7777 Brewster Ave, Philas. The tech ran the test (see attached) were it still showed low voltage ("red") but said it passed their test despite not all levels on AAA test showing green and refused to replace the battery because the overall test was "green" We also spoke to a supervisor "Dave" who at the center and he too refused. I have been a loyal member for over 37 yrs.
I want them to take the defective battery back and give me a new working battery and give me a service call back.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Insurance billing

This situation falls back as far as April 2020, when a payment was not stopped when was accidently made online while speaking with representative. The payment was not stopped as agreed to be reversed after requesting the same date, in which later my bank stopped payment and corrected fees. However, I found out that AAA has sent the payment for 627.54 back to my bank and to date I have been advised to try and make or do what I can do during this epidemic. My account was blocked from making payments because of this reversal. I was on extensive holds trying to validate and being told to call back wait more days to return this payment and once paid my balance would be 1724.00 and could be paid before renewal. I took notes ect. to find out today that the block was not lifted and resubmitted today, and that whoever told me about the extension being changed to November and future normal payments of 399 could be paid, was wrong. To date supervisors stated there is nothing that can be done my complaint will not be heard because if I callback only another supervisor will explain the same; to pay 800 today and the next three months through my Renewal in August. No other extensions existed and now I am in a crisis off work, not driving, verified all information I was told as far as even calling back for mileage adjustments for one of my vehicles on this 3 car multi policy that I have, renter's, membership and auto. When I filed my feedback for complaint I was told that I should get a response back in 3-5 days. My policy, my insurance credibility and billing is impacted. I need for AAA to honor what was told and let me move forward with the original request. Paying 800 a month because my policy renews in August could not be changed, should not have been told to me as such. However, when I called daily last week fro 5/18- 5/20 I was told my account for payment is showing closed looking like accounting is working on this but was not done until today. I have been struggling through this pandemic to workout arrangements calling consistently, only to be told incorrect information and now my insurance must be paid in full 2390.00 or 800 today and Auto pay setup for the next 2 months.

American Automobile Association [AAA] Not receiving my gifts that AAA promised people for joining.

Hello:

Hope everybody is safe!

Just wanted you to know that I am a current member and have been for some years — since this epedemic has struck — I have accumulated some receipts regarding having documents notarized. I called about this situation about a month or so ago — and, nobody did not have an answer for me. I had to pay outside of AAA (my triple A membership) to have doc notarized — even though I am a "paying member." It is not human for AAA to charge all members for a service that we are paying for and not receive our full pledge benefits. I need to know how do I get reimbursed for outside services already rendered elsewhere — and, what is AAA's process for any and all upcoming handling of "any" other future notary business — again, outside of my AAA membership that you (the company) is not handling. Especially, all of your physical offices are closed to the public.

It is now going on 2 1/2 months and I have not received any information regarding this issue. Another thing — the Company (AAA) should stop advertising that they would send out free gifts for new members wanting to join. I called in numerous times — off and on — complaining about signing up and never receiving anything. The first time I joined — I did not receive a gift. I notified the Company and the only thing that I received was broken promised. After that membership was over — I started another membership-the exact same thing happened — but, as I stated before, all that I received was broken promises again! No gift. And, again — the third time — my goodness! Why are you guys not being forthcoming in this matter. It seems like to me — the Company is not being truthful and is just out to rake in people's money. Others have felt the same way. This needs to stop. There are so many other five star companies on the market just like AAA and are doing very well in the business and I'm sure would be glad to receive more customers.

Nevertheless, I am requesting this matter be forwarded to President and Vice President of AAA for review. I appreciate your urgent response.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Shirley Rodgers

American Automobile Association [AAA] Travel service

We purchased a vacation trip through AAA travel agency, but due to COVD19 our trip were cancelled on 3/24. We are 3 family, the total of 10 people. Two of us even purchased a travel insurance. But still we haven't received our money and now they are saying it will take 90 or more days!
Currently we are all out of job, we need our money, and they are saying they just don't know and nothing they can do!

I have been a member of AAA for over 38 years and have all my insurance from them, I am the one suggested to the people to use AAA travel and now I am so disappointed!

American Automobile Association [AAA] Unethical behavior

This is the second time in less than i month that i have been " discriminated against by the employees at the north las vegas, nevada office". I own three cars. " the first time the manager- asked every white person in line - may i help you". Got to me did'nt say a word to me, turned around and walked away. After " checking the list- the registration person, " spoke to me in line..But, when it was my turn to get service attempted to bypass me and help a white couple that clearly came inafter i did...The couple told her " he was here before us". Today 3-16-20 i went there again for car #2...Almost the same treatment. This time by the receptionist. " asked the white lady...Can i help you ma'am. Never said one word to me." ..Then as i proceeded to use the kiosk for my registration.." with malice in her intent and demeanor tried to lambast me for using the dmv kiosk and said " i have to make an appointment to use the kiosk". After waiting all that time. This is totally unprofessional. I'll never go back there again. And i may cancel my aaa card . If this is the kind of hate you condone at your offices.
