I attempted to order this book yesterday, after entering my CC number & code, I lost the screen - the order disappeared, and i had no way of determining if the order had been received by Alibris or had been hijacked. PLUS there was no was to ask for information save writing a USPS letter.

I subsequently re-entered the website and was able to complete the order. I am watching my CC info to be certain my info was not seized by malware.
The book was received. Packaging was EXCELLENT. Arrival quick and painless.

Back in the 1980s I used to buy books by snail mail from the publisher before Amazon and such. My dissertation sponsor put me on to used book dealers a couple years ago. Belerium Books (SF Calif) wrapped a small pamphley like from the master museum art packer I once knew ("That's what you get when Trotskyites do the job"). I once wrote (1979) to Pantheon and they gave me the names of the people they pay royalties to for Hermann Broch (who cares about him, right?), and I became a friend of his son. [Transformative] Books are sacred in a post-Enlightenmant secular world. You are good folks.

Have had a great experience with all my orders so far, the Only exception as far as shipping was concerned was for Two books ordered together from Alibris itself in Reno, NV... they were Never shipped, although a label was created. It has made me skittish about ordering anymore books through that location... but, am going to give them one more try with an order of the same two books, that are still showing on their site from when I first ordered them over a month ago. They DID issue me a full refund of those two books a couple of weeks ago, with no hassle and for which I'm very grateful, so am trying again.

For some reason, this morning a few older Christian songs and artists came to mind. I then went to my usual SmileAmazon (Check out "Smile" Amazon because a lot of sellers will give a portion of your purchases to a charity of YOUR choice at no extra cost) and found The Winans "Return" and Russ Taft "The Way Home" - the Russ Taft CD was 45.00! Way out of my budget so I found THIS SITE and saved huge! I was able to find both CD's here and the total was less than 28.00, including shipping and tax. I never knew about this site until a few minutes ago and THIS will now be my "go to" source for music. I'm very happy!

I gave five stars because I support your mission with all my heart. But in fact I had lots of difficulties. For example, on one screen, my phone number was added at the end of my shipping or billing address--I forgot to look at which. There was no edit button, so I went forward to paying and on that screen it was gone. On another screen, the state was an issue; the page wanted TX and not Texas as auto-fill used. Also, I don't like it that you saved my credit card information and gave me no option to opt out. So many sites get hacked, I'd rather not let my info get saved (and you're a prime target for such hacks, given your mission).

The ONLY "negative" that I've encountered is a few of the sellers I've purchased through Did Not provide any tracking information, and so I had No Idea whatsoever when or where, if at all... if it was shipped. Also, twice... I was notified AFTER I placed my order (a day or two after the fact), that the books I ordered Were NOT in stock. Not happy with either of those few situations.: ( Also, like with this order, today... the shipping & tax, cost me as much as what I payed for the 5 books I ordered... probably will Not be ordering too many more... the book prices are great(!), the shipping... Not so much! Otherwise, it's been excellent!:)

~~ For many years we've been coming to AlibrisDOTcom to find books. Seldom fail to find what we're looking for. Very easy to manoever website, great service, decent prices, and a reputation for quickly addressing issues that are few and far between.
And of course their suppliers -- outlying sources --are part of this fantastic business; getting a book from them is like receiving a letter from home!

The book I ordered was exactly in the condition as described. Shipping was fast and the book was well packaged and protected. I am well pleased with my purchase.

They very often have what I'm looking for but can't find somewhere else. Everything I've ordered through them has arrived in good time and in the condition advertised, and am always pleased.

The book arrived within the time indicated at purchase and in the condition that was described before purchase. The service exceeded my expectations given the current environment (pandemic, compromised USPS, etc.).

I received the book The Ultimate Guide to Red Light Therapy and it appears to be new. Came well wrapped and exactly what I needed for my lobby. I have no issue with this seller. A++ Will order again when I need a particular book.

I found two out-of-print books by one of my favorite authors for very reasonable prices on Alibris. I received the books timely and in good condition and the communications from Alibris about expected ship dates and receipt dates were accurate.

Excellent item, it came with the book jacket and in great shape too considering its age. I was blown away with the price and the condition, I was expecting a rougher more broken it book for that price was pleasantly surprised. Communication is great with the site and worth the wait it took to get the book.

I ordered "Notre Dame Cathedral Nine Centuries of History" February 3rd. It arrived today February 18. I was just starting to worry it was delayed in our bad mail situation. It arrived shrink wrapped in excellent condition. I have been happy with Alibris for years. I hope the current USPS problems will not change that.

I have used Alibris for many years in preference to the behemoth or its child Abe, and have have had very good experiences over the last 8 or 9 years. I will admit that I don't order things with a deadline on arrival because of their heterogeneous network. Specific alibris sellers are better then others at prompt delivery.

I wanted 'The Other Side of Heaven' but other sites wanted outrageous prices. I found the used copy on Alibris that was suppose to be like new. When I received the order indeed the DVD was shrink wrapped and looked and played like new. I am very pleased. This is my second purchase from Alibris and will look to them again for future needs.

I have ordered books for both business and personal uses for many years through Alibris. I have always been satisfied with the condition of books received. In the few cases where there were issues, I found their customer services very helpful. In all cases, when necessary, I received either credit or replacement copies. My most recent purchase came more quickly than anticipated.

I've been dealing with alibris.com since 2009 when a professor clued me into this site. I've always had excellent and prompt service, which is why I always return in my book and other media (ie. DVD) searches. Prices are super low. As an example, I've just received three books in excellent condition--scarcely touched, like new. And cheap, too. The Other Major OnLine Retailer is fine, but I prefer alibris...they've always been good to me!

I ordered a book from Alibris (trail guide to the body by Biel) on the 12th of october to the UK. This book has recently been classed as ‘delivered’ on my account to Bell Gardens in America and the shipping process is ‘complete’. I live in the UK and have emailed them and the shipping company 3 times and have no reply although I emailed over a week ago and the company says they reply typically within 48 hours. I have no response and no UK number to call for assistance. How do I get a full refund as I don’t want anything to do with this terrible company anymore?

Alibris is a website that has a lot of great book sellers, but the commission percentage they charge is too high. This means that the sellers have to charge more for shipping, which can be a real bummer. I've had to pay some pretty high shipping fees in the past, but I usually just suck it up and pay it because it's convenient to buy books online.

However, I recently found a way to save some money on Alibris. I compiled a big order from one seller and then I checked out their eBay site to see if they had the same books for sale. It turned out that they did, and they were able to offer me a discount on shipping because I was buying so many books. I ended up saving almost $100 on my purchase, which was a really nice surprise.

So, I was looking for a book and decided to give Alibris a try. I ordered it and waited patiently for it to arrive. But when the package finally arrived, I was surprised to find that it wasn't my book. They sent me someone else's book! I was really disappointed and frustrated.

I immediately contacted their tech support, but it was obvious that they were based in India and couldn't speak English very well. They kept asking for my order number, even though my book wasn't in the packet, so the order information wasn't there. It was just incredibly stupid tech support.

I sent them three photos of all the receipts and identifying information, but they still couldn't figure out what went wrong. I mean, come on, this is a shipping company! They should be able to look up a name, an email address, or an address, right?

We exchanged 11 emails back and forth, but the issue still wasn't sorted. It was such a waste of my time. I don't think I'll be using Alibris again.

Alibris is a website that sells books, music, and movies. While I appreciate the variety of items available, I found their shipping policies to be quite frustrating. It seems that they charge per item, even if you're ordering multiple items from the same seller. For example, I recently ordered a thin children's paperback and thought I would receive two copies, but I was charged an additional $4.95 for each book ordered. Alibris is my go-to website for all my book needs. I've been using it for years and have recommended it to many of my friends. However, my recent experience was a bit frustrating. I was trying to take advantage of the free shipping icons that were displayed on some of the books I wanted to purchase, but they wouldn't go into my cart. Every time I tried to check out, the little truck icon disappeared, leaving me confused and annoyed.

I eventually had to give up on my original choices and settle for my fourth or even fifth choices. It was a tedious and frustrating experience, and I hope Alibris can fix this glitch in their system. It's not fair to customers who are trying to take advantage of the free shipping offer, and it could easily be seen as a dishonest business practice.

Despite this issue, I still love Alibris and will continue to use it for my book needs. The selection is great, and the prices are reasonable. I just hope that they can fix this problem soon so that I can have a smoother shopping experience in the future.

So, I had a bit of a rough experience with Alibris. I bought a book from a seller on their website, but unfortunately, the seller lied about the condition of the book. I had to return it, which was a bit of a hassle. However, Alibris did give me a coupon to make up for the shipping charge I lost. The only problem was that the coupon was only good for less than 30 days. That's not a lot of time to use it, and it left me feeling a bit frustrated.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I'll be buying much from Alibris in the future. There are other sites out there that I might try first. Plus, I'm part of a group with over 2,000 members, and I've shared my experience with them. They're not too thrilled with the way Alibris treated me, and I can't say I blame them.

I think Alibris could have handled the situation a bit better. If a seller lies to a buyer, the seller should be responsible for the shipping charges, not the buyer. It's just common sense. I hope Alibris takes this feedback to heart and makes some changes to improve their customer service. After all, we're the ones keeping them in business.

Alibris is a pretty good website to buy stuff from. The prices are pretty good, but the shipping charges are kinda whack. I mean, I shop online a lot and I've seen way better shipping rates from other websites. And don't even get me started on the lack of combined shipping breaks for multiple item purchases. Like, come on Alibris, get with the program.

Coupons are pretty much useless when the shipping costs more than the items you're buying. It's like, what's the point? And if you're gonna charge shipping for every single item, just be upfront about it. Don't try to pull a fast one on me and show me a low price and then add on a bunch of shipping charges at checkout. That's just shady.

Honestly, I'd be way more likely to buy stuff from Alibris if they were just more transparent about their shipping costs. Like, just tell me what an item is gonna cost me, including shipping. Don't try to hide the shipping costs until the last minute. That's just not cool.

Overall, I'd say Alibris is a decent website to buy stuff from, but they really need to work on their shipping policies if they want to keep customers coming back.

It took me a hot minute to find where to put in my credit card digits. If y'all had Apple Pay, I coulda just used my thumbprint and been done with it. But I reckon y'all think books are some highfalutin cultural artifacts that shouldn't be bought on a whim. I gotta give you props for that, I reckon.

And don't even get me started on how y'all made me let you share my purchase with that big brother Google. I'm all for sharing my thoughts on why I ain't comin' back to your site, though.

I just got my book from Alibris and it was wrapped in a flimsy plastic bag. I was excited to read it, but when I opened the package, I was disappointed to find a big dent and tear in the hardcover. I was really bummed out because I was looking forward to reading it, but now it's damaged.

I contacted customer service to see what they could do about it. They told me that I would have to pay for the return shipping, even though it was the seller's fault that the book was damaged. I was really surprised because most companies will give you a free return if the item is damaged. They only charge return shipping if you just changed your mind.

I was really frustrated with the situation, so I asked customer service if they could do anything to help me out. They said they would give me a $3 coupon to "offset" the shipping costs. I was really disappointed with this because it didn't seem like a fair solution. I feel like they should have done more to make it right.

Overall, I'm really disappointed with my experience with Alibris. I don't think I'll be using this company again because of the poor customer service and lack of concern for their customers. It's really frustrating to receive a damaged item and then have to pay to return it. I hope they can improve their policies and procedures in the future.

I gotta say, I had a bit of trouble navigating the Alibris website. I mean, I was trying to buy a movie - "Persuasion" with Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry-Jones - and I ended up getting pretty frustrated. I wanted to add it to my cart, but then I saw that the shipping charge for a second item was over six bucks! That's just too much, especially since the first item I bought was only $3.99. I tried to get a cut-rate shipping deal, but it didn't work out. So, I ended up deleting "Persuasion" from my order.

But here's the thing - I really wanted that movie! So, I hope someone from Alibris sees this review and can help me out. Maybe they can fix the shipping charge error and get me that movie after all. And while they're at it, they should tell their webmaster to sort out the website so it's easier to use. I mean, it shouldn't be so hard to go back to the shopping screen after you've checked out.

Overall, I think Alibris has some good stuff, but they need to work on their website and their shipping charges. If they can do that, I'll be a happy customer.

Alibris stated that my book order was never processed because of "address issues". I have been doing business with Alibris for many years. I NEVER had an issue with my address! And no changes in address for last seven years. The book in question was supposedly from Albris itself, listed as "the seller". I now hesitate to purchase from Alibris because I only got the refund for the book but not for the shipping! If Alibris wants my business in the future it needs to refund the shipping since it WAS NOT SHIPPED. The "bookseller" IS listed as Alibris according to the website. Why would Alibris still mention the book is still for sale on its website and that it is still available FROM ALIBRIS for the exact same price I paid? What gives?Alibris advised me in an email to try another bookseller on their site yet still advertises the book from Alibris itself. Like I stated previously, I have bought dozens of books from Alibris for years and never had an issue with my address. What's the problem with Alibris? I sent half a dozen emails with no response. I tried their"phone service" with again no communication. From appearances, it looks like Alibris can "sell" a book with shipping charges; and to make it look legit just refund for the book, then keep the shipping charges. A perfect scam.

I've ordered this book on March 11, 2022. The order# is [protected]-1. Almost three weeks has gone by, and I did not receive the book. I've tried to contact the seller, which is Discover books, but the seller never reply to my request about this item. I've tried to contact Alibris customer service, but this dept. is not helpful either. They never resolved the problem.

One of my orders, I only received 1 out of the 3 items I ordered. I know they were all in the same shipment because it was the same tracking number.

My other order, I revived both items, but I also received an extra item I did not order and do not want. You are all shady thieves. I will stick with EBay, because they provide seller accountability.

Please know that the people operating this business and website:

#1) continue to use underhanded and false communication tactics to make themselves appear legitimate,

#2) manipulate every communication to appear good for their image,

#3) will continue to manipulate the truths - my personal experience and so many people you see on here - except the naive and false people.

Conclusion: do not risk your money buying anything with this website or business. They have no responsibility and are willing to lie to you (and everyone!) with their communications. They clearly lied with their communications to many people that you see on here and they will continue to do this. Be warned: do not use or buy or have anything to do with the people from this website!"

Ordered a book and they shipped a compact disc. Email is only option to communicate with them. They took back wrong item sent but would not refund the shipping back I spent to get wrong item! I returned the wrong item and am out the shipping fee's both ways to correct the mistake they made sending wrong item. Do not order from this company read all the negative reviews on the internet. Had I read the reviews I would not have ordered from them buyer be aware same time and disappointment.

I wish to file a complaint regarding this seller. The order clearly states that the item will ship directly from the seller. It did not in fact ship from the seller - the seller took my order, then turned around and ordered it from a 3rd party seller ship it to me. Because this order took over 3 weeks to get to me I did some research and found another copy to purchase. Interestingly enough I just so happened to order my second cd from the seller your seller ordered the first cd from! Now I want to return the cd and your seller is asking at 15% restocking fee (which I feel I do not owe them because the item was NEVER in their possession). I plan to file a complaint with my credit card company as well.

My order stated it would ship directly from the seller it did not therefore I'd say that I was lied to and mislead.

I've been attempting to get information on how to return the cd and have gotten all sorts of excuses including "we need to pass this along to our refunds department please allow 48 hours" - a week later.. oh we have a problem with our computer system and couldn't print your return label please allow and another 48 hours"

Earlirer this year I ordered 4 CD. s of Collabro's which cost me over $100.00, at that time. I received 2 of them. and Alibris kept my money for the other 2 CDs I gave them a good bit of time to rectify the situation, they never did. I complained to them directly, and they adjusted my credit card balance, and asked me to give them a second chance which I did.
I re-ordered the 2 Collabro CD's that I didn't receive the first time. The balance was over $50. AgainI received only 1/2 of my order. I am still waiting for my other CD, and they still have my money. I want my CD/Collabro Road to the Royal Albert Hall. I think it is time to contact Better Business, and the Attorney General's Office within the County that they reside. I am sick of this.

"Caro Diario (Dear Diary)" DVD was described as region 1 (for US players) in the details of the listing and showed a picture of the DVD that was made for US release (yellow cover, English translation, although I based my purchase upon the written description of the listing, not the photo). I received a Korean region 3 DVD with a white cover and a big label warning that it will not play in the US. It was sent by Half Price Books. I filled out an online return form, only to find out that I will only be compensated for shipping with a $3 coupon for Alibris. I do not want to order from Alibris ever again. I will file a complaint with my credit card company. I should receive a refund for the DVD plus a refund for all shipping charges. I do not believe this was an accident. I live in Iowa and the DVD was shipped from Coon Rapids, MN. It would be unusual for someone in my area to want a Korean DVD.

I have ordered two books from www.alibris.com and arrived only one. When I contacted customer service they claimed that they shipped two books. I told them that there was only one book in the package and demanded a partial refund but they refused. I contacted them many times asking for a refund but hey did not believe me and literally called me a liar. I'm so frustrated and disappointed abut this. Never again I will order something from these cheats!

I was a seller for this organization. I shipped books the same or next day. However, they would pool international deliveries at their warehouse where they would sit and gather until sufficient were accumulated to ship en masse. Delays would be more than a month. Just from Texas to Canada, it would take more than a month. That's plain ridiculous.

Meanwhile, I would get a complaint from the buyer assuming I'm the party at fault. I had to explain to several buyers how it worked and apologize for Alibris' horrible business practice and its effect on the buyer.

I would receive negative feedback and have to get Alibris correct that feedback and add a note stating I was not at fault. Unfortunately, such is not looked upon well by customers.

The only solution is for Alibris to drastically increase shipping speed or provide the funds for the seller to ship the book direct to the buyer.
