ADT Security Services I called adt, to receive my visa gift that I haven't received yet.

I receive a flyer in the mail for adt system with a promotion of a gift card for $100.00 I got the system in 7/29/20. I have been calling adt, about my reward card I couldn't get the right person on the phone so I went online to see if I could get someone to answer my question. Finely I called adt today is 10/29/20 I talk to a gentleman and he checked in to it and told me that I did everything that I suppose to do and he said yes, you should get it soi need to he put me on hold to see who need to talk to and he said I need to call elite service to get my visa card and I did and the man on the phone told me that I had 60 days to do the survey so I said ok bye... Late
to day I was told that I had 90 days not 60's. I don't know what's going on but this is bad "Business"!

ADT Security Services Security services

I contacted ADT to transfer my services to a new address since I was moving. I established a service end date at the former address as I was still living there and would not be moving until about 45/60 days out. (1) To start my services were turned off almost a month prior to my move date so I had no protection at the home that I was currently living in. (2) Once I moved they came to my new address and stated that I would need some additional sensors which would be $40 each. My house was pre-wired for a security system so I don't see why I needed them but I went ahead and went with it. So it was an additional $200 for 5 window sensors. (3) The bill at the old address was $39 a month and I was told the new address would be $48 due to me adding a doorbell camera. Fine, I went with that as well. (4) The technician did not install ADT light bulbs from the old address because he said he did not see it listed on the ticket. He told me to contact ADT to speak with a technician to get that added. I called ADT and after speaking with 4 people I was finally transferred to someone whom added the light bulbs to my current account. He stated that although he added them to the account he could not add it to my app for me to control the bulbs. I would need to speak with a different department to have it added for my control. (5) While speaking with that department I was told that it would be an additional $11 dollars per month to add it. We are now at $59 a month. Now I am being nickled and dimed for transferring my services to a new address after paying for new equipment. In addition to the number of reasons listed, my issue is that I specifically asked about the light bulbs when I called to transfer the service. I was told that I would be able to transfer them to the new address and that since I had already paid for them it would be as simple as the technician resetting and installing them. Now I am being told that it takes me to another level of service and I would have to pay an additional $11. I was already at that level of service because I had them at the old address; furthermore, I was told it went up $9 because I was moving to a higher level of service that included the video doorbell so now I am being asked to pay and additional $11 for going back to the original level of service. This is ridiculous and I refuse to be used.

ADT Security Services Refund not received

I'm requesting a full refund of an over-payment of services during 3/2020 - 8/2020 on acct #[protected]. I've contacted ADT personnel at least 6 times concerning this matter. And despite numerous assurances from ADT personnel that I'm entitled to a full refund and/or that a check was on its way to me, only a partial refund has been received.

Listed below is a recap of what has taken place since March 2020.
1. On March 23rd, ADT did a major overall of our system and at that time the account was under my wife's name: Debra Harrison.
2. During the upgrade, a new acct was created under my name and the old acct should've been closed out. This didn't happen.
3. On June 1st we were invoiced $186.30 under the old acct. This was mistakenly paid, while payments for the same service were made to the new acct via credit card. .
4. In June I realized my error, contacted ADT, requested the old acct be closed retroactively to March 23rd plus requested the June $186.30 payment be refunded. I was told that this would be done.
5. In early July, my wife received a check for $74.52. ADT never explanation the basis of this check.
6. I contacted ADT in July & August to get an update only to learn my request had been denied as no additional credit was listed on the acct.
7. On September 4th, I contacted ADT again and was told a check for $298.00 was sent and I should receive it in 10 days and I'm still waiting.
8. I sent ADT a letter on 09/28/2020 to which I've gotten no response

ADT Security Services Billing

I have been recently moving into a new mobile home and I can not hook up my alarm because my mobile home is being remodeled in the mean time they are still billing me since August 2020. and I have not used the system just got a rude call from someone that is threatening if I don't pay the bill I think ADT sucks and I will never recommend them and the reason why I'm writing this complaint because of the threat that they are going to turn my account over to collections which is not fair when I'm not even using the service. I would like something done about this because they are rude and not able to help.

ADT Security Services New cameras and doorbell

Hasn't worked properly 3 days in a row since installed. Rude lying customer service. Unethical practices wanting to charge me for visits even though I pay a mthly maintenance fee. Todays call w Brittany was a disaster. She told me her supervisor would not speak to me because I was delinquent on my bill. Then I requested to speak to her supervisors supervisor then her supervisor Ted decided to get on the phone and he came in hotttttt. Very poor service my contract will not be renewed nor will they get referrals.

ADT Security Services Billing department

ADT has [censored]TY SERVICE! I am a 14-year customer, and resident, who transferred my ADT service to a new home in Nov 2019. The monthly monitoring was $42.99. Around 8/25 I called to add 2 cameras and 1 doorbell camera to increase my charge to $10.26 x 60 mos. for the equipment and $57.99 for the monitoring. 1st Lie: I was told the cameras came with horns so I can speak to people. Only the doorbell does this. 2nd LIE: I was told to pay the first $10.26 installment to the technician on 8/28 when Tori installed the cameras. 3rd Lie: I was told ADT would cancel out old contract and create a new one with the upgrades. I do not have horns, Tori did not take a pymt, and ADT never updated my account adding the cameras. On 8/28 Nate in billing said I had to pay $10.26 over the phone to activate my new contract. I had to call back because Nate not only took my $10.26 pymt. over the phone, ADT took an additional $10.26 from my bank and charged me a prorated $36.72. I asked Nate would there be any additional charges besides the $10.26 and he lied and said No! I had to call back AGAIN and speak to a clueless Sade. She told me I would get a credit for $10.26 by mail in a paper check in 10 days and how I was still on the old contract for $42.99. Lie #4! The refund came by direct deposit, not by mail, and it took 16 days! Sade transferred me to the Acct. Mgmt. & Loyalty Dept. where I spoke with a Denise who claimed she fixed my account and I would be charged a $10.26 debit (cameras) & $57.99 debit (monitoring) effective 9/28 and moving forward. This was Lie #5! Today is 9/30/20 and there is NO debit. I called Heather in billing at ADT and she could not even find a record I had an account with ADT once again. [censored]! I told her I cannot believe how ignorant they all are and I am just about ready for them to come get all this [censored] equipment and kiss my [censored]! ADT has the WORST billing dept in the world! Heather transferred me to her Supervisor Ashley Cooper in Dallas, TX, Employee ID #1180367 who CLAIMS that now I am supposedly paid up! WTF? She said I had some hidden credit of $10.26 that ADT billed to my account on 9/28 for the equipment and I have to manually pay $60.19 on 10/16/2020. I logged onto MyADT.com it says $60.19 was due on9/29/20. I asked her about the 9/28 charges I was told I would have and she saw no record of those. Ashley sent me a screenshot from her computer to prove my payment was not due until 10/16/20 and verified over the phone I did not have a pymt due ON 9/29/2020 when the computer clearly showed I did. She also stated I had to manually log on MyADT.com and pay the $60.19 and I told her refuse to this because last time I paid $10.26 over the phone with Nate ADT took another $10.26 manually. I fear the same will happen with the $60.19. I asked her how in the hell was I supposed to know they would not debit my payments on 9/28 when Denise and all the other freaking people I spoke to verified they would? Your billing department's miscommunication with your customers is beyond unacceptable! Now my payment is unexplainably pushed back from 9/28/20 back to 10/16/20 without notice? If I didn't call how would I have known? Ashley told me she would defend the 10/16/20 due date for the $60.19 and gave me her Employee ID number I mentioned above. She also said our call was recorded so go check her call log to Fasika Montalvo at 5220 Blanco Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93307 on for 9/30/20. My concern? I hate ADT! I fear I will find out Ashley was wrong too and I will have to [censored]ing call again! I will be pissed and ready to cancel for good if I find out ADT will charge me $60.19 for 9/28 and on 10/28. Ashley told me after I "manually" pay $60.19 on 10/16/20 my next pymts will be debited on 11/28 for $10.26 and $57.99 and the these 2 pymts on the 28th of every month moving forward. Until I see this on my end in the MyADT.com account I don't believe a damn thing your untrained lying [censored] staff tells me over the phone. I was told my account was fixed by 2 other supervisors and other customer service reps before but as of today everything is still [censored]ed up! I don't understand why someone cannot go in and cancel this screwed up contract and start the billing from scratch with the proper amounts using an override. I have an electronic contract that I signed by email showing my debits are $10.26 and $57.99 but ADT cannot not carry out this agreement on its end! And if you log into my account you will see a hack job of debits and credits leaving me pymt balances that don't add up my account is STILL under the [censored]ing old contract! Ashley said the $57.99 monitoring fee will NOW take effect on 11/28 but I was promised by everyone else before her it would take place on 9/28. And how did we skip 10/28 debits all of a sudden? Do you see how insane all of this sounds? If you listen to our call I told her that ADT needs to hire a loss prevention team to go in and review all new contracts to verify and confirm they are inputted into the system correctly and if the account is an add on, verify that the old contact makes a smooth transition over to the new account with no hiccups in the billing. CLEARLY this is not happening and I wonder how many other customers are calling in like myself? My account was perfectly fine until I decided to upgrade with cameras. Now I have to be punished as my account fell through the crack, then was accidently deleted, and then all the info had to be manually entered again and NO ONE verified to make sure the system accepted the entries! A complete clusterfuck one after the other of people who are poorly trained including your supervisors! The amount of time I spent calling back numerous times and being placed on ETERNAL hold and dealing with this nightmare has been in excess of 3+ hours combined! I have more than paid for the camera equipment just from my frustration! I want to file a complaint against Tori the technician because everything seems to say it is her fault. She did a [censored]ty job and they had to ask them send out another technician the next day because my doorbell rang all day after her install and there was no one there. They said Tori never canceled the old contract so everything was screwed from there. Obviously, your employees are good at pointing fingers and snitching on everyone so I am here to report everyone's [censored] involved in my install/billing misery! I don't even know if anyone will get this complaint but I am so beyond pissed that I don't have the energy to speak to anyone on the phone. I simply want someone to fix my [censored]ing account! How hard can this be? From Nov 2019 through Aug 2020 my billing was so smooth with $42.99 a month and now everything is [censored]ed up and now your ADT billing department is trying to piece meal a bunch of manual payments on random due dates! I cannot function like this and NEED SOMEONE IN COMMAND TO STEP IN AND TAKE OVER! I have spoken to several ADT supervisors who guaranteed me the problem was fixed so here we are! From Aug 28, 2020 to now Sept 30, 2020 I have been dealing with this [censored]ing nightmare and I NEED SOMEONE TO PLEASE FIX THE BILLING ON MY ACCOUNT BEFORE I CANCEL AND FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB. ADT steals your money. I called to cancel and I’m still getting charged. I contacted them and apparently they don’t have notes that I called. They record all conversations but still say I didn’t call. After years of trusting them they come up with this.

ADT Security Services Cancel service

September 3, 2020. I recently sold a little vacation cabin in the woods. Yesterday, I was advised by the realtor that the closing will be Friday, September 4. ADT says they need 30 days notice so my service won't end until October 2. What are homeowners suppose to do when it takes less than 30 days to sell a home? Then, to top it off, I was told I would have to pay $823 early cancellation fee. ADT was install in 2016 but apparently my contract doesn't expire until 2023 (a 7-year contract?). This cabin is in a Trust and primarily used by my brother. My brother was in the process of selling his home with the intent of buying the cabin as his retirement home. He passed away, unexpectedly on May 30th of this year. Right in the middle of selling his house. So even though I'm selling the cabin because of a death in the family, I'm still responsible for paying an early cancellation fee? There policies are very unfair to the average consumer. The funny thing is I didn't even want to switch to ADT back in 2016. I wanted to use internet security cameras instead, but my brother wanted ADT. So I got ADT. Big mistake! I have had other issues with their service also, like them not using the call tree properly, the audible alarm not working (realized that when the Sheriff showed up at the door), and door strike not working. I feel ADT is in it for the money and could care less about their customers.

Hello I called ADT today to cancel my monitoring service after being a loyal customer for over 20 years, although the clerk said I was a customer for 10, which is not correct we have had their service in 3 different houses in 3 different states for over 20 years. Obviously their recordkeeping is lax. ADT has no inclination to take care of their long term customers or give them any sort of price break as a reward. I told the clerk I was tired of price increases and then having to call in every couple of years to wrangle a better price and I just want to go with a lower cost local provider, at which point she wanted to argue that I was already on their "best" rate. The clerk that was only interested in continuing my service even though I said that I have already made other arrangements she continued to harass me and suggest other options and al the reasons why I should stay with ADT. She then stated that my service would terminate in 30 days even though I requested immediate. She also said I could do with the equipment whatever I want which is interesting as that I own the equipment and paid good money to have it installed. It is not ADT owned equipment. I finally said look I just want to cancel my service at which she abruptly accused me of being rude. So then she proceeded to continue her diatribe throughout the call and at the conclusion her last remark was I hope you get in a better mood. What a pathetic example of customer service. She needs to work on her bedside manner. I wish I had a recording of the conversation to play to her Manager. I will NEVER recommend ADT to anyone again. Their attitude is unacceptable and there are many other better options that can provide the same or better levels of service for less money.

ADT Security Services System was hacked through my own cell phone and compromised 2 days after installation, now they won't give me my money back

Had the system installed july 26 2020, 2 days later, people broke into my house by hacking my phone, and now adt wont' take the system back and refuse to let out of the contract even after their sales rep assured me that if I was dissatisfied for any reason I could easily return the system with no hassle and no penalty
Don't go with adt! They are useless and dishonest

ADT Security Services Sold house and moved

Nice guy from Adt called me and said he would cancel our service Since we sold the home and moved out of state and a 600 credit for Adt where we moved to no mention of oweing the balance of a contract I called customer no assistance they said yep you have to pay it, this is such poor business practice I or anyone I know that will be getting security I will not recommend you I could understand if I just wanted to stop but to move away and will get another security system which would have been the one but not now or ever. Good day

ADT Security Services Install from 3/21 still not completed

Sales - Michael came to the house (also goes by Travis). Worked with Jose on the phone - he worked with his security manager. We did not realize we had to install that very day to get all the deals they were giving us. We agreed to a package + a monthly fee and everything was set up with the exception of 2 cameras which were on backorder. The doorbell and an outside camera over our back deck. We originally were at 29.99/month, but since we added cameras, they agreed to 39.99. We were told to call back to check on cameras - when doing so, we've gotten the run around. Countless hours spent, we talked directly to our Installer/Travis who stated he remembered us and our 2 cameras included, etc. He stated we are on the same page, not to worry, he would take care of it. The next week, he called stating his security manager that he spoke to that day left the company so he was going the loyalty dept. Still - not to worry. Now, then, on 5/4 - he won't answer his phone, and many, many phone calls from us to account managers/customer service/complaint department, etc. and nothing. No response from calls, e-mails, etc. Who can help us?

ADT Security Services ADT bad service

I feel cheated,
The first time that ADT's salesperson was at my house he promised that in a case we moving house there are no additional charges, he said everything is on us, if you guys don't want additional services so everything stay the same, under the same contract, just let us know when and where and we send a technician..
He convinced us to sign a two-year contract instead of a shorter term and we agreed only because he promised we will be able to move with no additional changes and no need of new contract.
Last month we called to let them know we are moving and now they want us to sign for another long term contract, after we spoke with the manager he said ok just take with you specific devices and the rest you can leave in the old house and we will do the transfer on the same contract.
Today we called again to give the new address and again we have been told we can't do they on the same contract, the representative was so rude and raise his voice two time, we asked to talk with manager and he let us stay on the line for 15 minutes and obviously he had no intention to transfer us.
If that matters his employer number is: 185405

We are very disappointed, we will never renew a contract with ADT, neither we nor all our acquaintances. It's just sad that their salespersons are lying to customers just to sign them on a contract

ADT Security Services Technician was unqualified to install ring and was paid up front $200.00

Tech came out on November 30th to install ring. He informed myself that
he did not know how to install it. Paid him $200.00 up front from my
credit card. He claim he tried to return to my card, but was unable. Call
rep on December 16, 2019, she gave me an email, with that, no response
from ADT to this day. It is unfair that an unqualified tech was sent to my
home, it is unfair no one has contacted, me it is unfair your company does
not have this info in your computer, and most of all, I really need my money
back. I am a customer as well. My name is Mrs. Sandra Hemphill, I can be

ADT Security Services Home security

Poor service from ADT is putting my home security at risk. Recently the information from ADT is incorrect and inaccurate and very frustrating:
The time of loadshedding the first 2 months was very accurate. Now I get a message of loadshedding when electricity is back.
The call to check if the panic button is real - fix your system each time there is loadshedding you call to check if we are okay, because the panic button on your side went off. If there are criminals in my house will I be able to answer phones? Upon answering you ask for the code and then you say its incorrect - oh your level of competency is making me wonder if I am in a crime situation will you be able to assist me. Then you will dispatch the van - at 4am they shine torches on the windows, do you expect me to go out and attend to them?
No wonder there are very few houses with ADT services and the episode on Carte Blanch not making me feel safe.
I want accurate information from you going forward, fix your signals during loadshedding. 12/02/2020 @ 10:58 I got a message low battery and there was no loadshedding. At 11:20 I got a call which I didn't answer because of your inaccurate information, you were going to tell me the panic button are we okay.
Your urgent corrective action will be appreciated

ADT Security Services Visa gift card scam

Its been over a year and i still have never received my visa gift card. Its a little upsetting that rates go up after a year. Customer services reps i have talked to dont help, no one really picks up the either phone. I just don't understand why a company this big lies about giving something to get you to buy into a contract with them. I dont know, whats up with them this is fraud.

ADT Security Services Local adt representative (chris hite) incompetence

I have requested a certificate of monitoring from local ADT representative Chris Hite for 3 months, multiple times via phone, email, and IM. He has not provided this document in spite of saying he would. I have retained our communications in case you would like to review them.

My insurer is now threatening to cancel my home insurance without this certificate.

Chris Hite's lack of responsibility and incompetence has put the security of my home at risk. I would like to see him removed from his role - he is not good at what he does, and he is not a good ambassador for ADT.

ADT Security Services I never received my adt gift card offer

I was told by the guy that installed my system that I would receive my gift card in the mail a couple of months after I had the system installed .. I never received it. So I called adt and the representative notified me that I should have received something in my email.. Being that I hardly ever look at my emails I didn't find the link in time .. I feel like I should still have the opportunity to get my gift card since I was told it would be mailed to me.

ADT Security Services adt alarm

Long time ADT client (10 years+) who finally tried to disconnect as new systems / services are so much better. ADT basically REFUSES to cancel my services. They claim first request was not made properly, and second request they refuse to process UNLESS I agree to pay them for a future dated cancellation! This is on a month to month system that has no contract obligations remaining. Total scam, I filed complaints to local media and Consumer Protection.

ADT Security Services Billing and customer service

I recently sold my home that I had ADT service in and received a final bill. Well after looking at it closer I was charged for time I no longer owned the home. I called customer service and was told I needed to call them 30 days prior to ending my service. I did not know the final closing date until 2 weeks before and call that week to end service. When I called I was never told I needed to give 30 day notice so this is a shocker. I couldn't take the service to the new place and did intend to get their service once we find a new home but after this I dont want to deal with this again. If I would have needed to give all the services we had at the old home 30 day notice we would have been screwed. This is a joke and I will not be back unless this is resolved and word of mouth is your best advertisement.

ADT Security Services taking money without authorization

i have called for the last 3 4 days and complained to adt that first the were taking money out of my account without permission. They also said the were going to refund me the money and said it would be in there 1 da y and wasnt in there Adt has done this several times i have had problems from the very first day. Ihad them at my house in NC and never had a problem i ended up moving i was in my house new house for about 1 1/2 months and had problems from day 1. they said the were going to hook my services up they did a no call no show i waited all day and nobody showed up i had to call them. then chared me more the i was told on my first bill and then they took a double payment a couple of diffrent times and still i am waiting for my money back i belive this started with the money on around the december 3rd -december 6th of 2019 so i hope this gets resolved asap and i belive you all need to do something for me for all these headaches and the inconvinece that has been cause

ADT Security Services sales department

I was speaking with a Manager named (Kelly) in your Sales Department. We talked about setting up for the technician to come out. And when I told her I wanted to check with my wife the problem began. She told me I was basically just a sale and she could be talking to other potential clients and she couldn't guarantee that after today she would be able to guarantee it. Then she presides to tell me "they are sales and she could be with other potential clients". I asked her "this is your customer service".

P.S. It would be nice to actually speak to an Complaint Representative
