ACRE Replacement Windows Window installation

This company breached their contract by trying to install windows that were not approved by my HOA. They had it in writing that they were not approved and yet they tried to install them anyway. when I found out they told me they would rush order new windows and after several months they did not deliver a product within an almost year timeframe. I had to take them to court in which I won the case back in December of 2021 and they have still yet to pay me back the deposit and court fees.

Desired outcome: Them to pay what they owe me that was decided by the court system

ACRE Replacement Windows Windows and doors

I worked for them for about a month - every person I started with left for the same reason. They LIE to you and give good leads to their buddies or favorites, you are left with nothing. ASK to see the sales reps IPAD because they have these secret coded they enter even before they enter your house that marks up the price 15% or whatever discount was given to you either at a home show or in print. Second they add anywhere from $2000 to 10, 000.00 or more markup so either you go for it or they discount it a bit to make it look like you get a real big discount. Their sales manager Frank is a "dick" plain and simple he has no problem lying and stealing to get sales or now that he is a manager he teaches his lies so his reps can make the money for him even though its just pennies. I encourage you to look at the reviews that are not from people that work there (oh yeah they give out bonuses if you work for them and boost their review rating, which I refused to do! They also make reps. Sign papers that you will not talk bad about them (or basically speak the truth). They pride on being a woman owned company. Well stiffler's mom (the botox money grubbing lady that never smiles or is just plain mean) treats employees like second hand citizens while she rides around in brand new jaguars. Simply put you can get the same windows at home depot or lowes and they will install at 1/3 the price. Do not believe their lies about service and how their people are drug tested because it rarely happens and about 1/2 of the installers beat it anyway. Such a pitiful place! Stay away! They pay their customers and staff for good reviews!

ACRE Replacement Windows door installations

This email I sent to them on Oct 19, 2018 recaps the issues: I have tried unsuccessfully since the installation of the 3 doors and 1 screen door on 9-24-18 to get you to come back to do repairs to the scratches on kitchen door, repairs to squeeky kitchen screen door that has no traction, frame on kitchen door that came with pink paint on the top, nail holes on all doors, lack of paint as promised on all frames, and missing front door screen door that I already paid for in full, and to have this done prior to installation of a living room window. Also, your installer ripped part of my wall off while removing the old door frame, and you promised repair of the wall. I have called every few days since the installation and you have both ignored my messages and then cancelled appointments at least 3 times with no valid explanation, causing disruption to my work schedule and other personal appointments. Today again you did not show up to do inspection and did not call with an explanation. In addition the delivery of the doors was an hour late on 9-24 which caused me to have to cancel another appointment I needed to fit in on that day, as the installation ran late until 6pm. The installers also left broken glass outside while removing the old doors, until I pointed it out to them and then they cleaned it up. As you have not kept your promise to do the repairs prior to the installation of the living room window and living room screen door, I am requesting a full refund for those 2 items. In addition I am out $750.00 for a screen door and over $4000.00 for the windows. Thank you.

ACRE Replacement Windows Replacement Windows

Our experience with ACRE windows has been very negative. Our expert salesman gained our trust and talked a great game but the reality has been very different. First, he misrepresented ACRE’s relationship with Anderson Windows. Next, he sold us conversion kits for our bay windows and promised they would be an improvement over the old windows. He even sold an option that doesn’t even exist: half screens on conversions kits. And the hits just kept coming: The installer who showed up wasn’t the “veteran installer” we were promised, but rather an inexperienced new hire that had never installed a conversion kit in a bay window. As you might expect, the windows looked worse as they were not even and straight in the frames and ACRE’s “attempt” to fix the problem by altering the outside of the window just made things worse. To add insult to injury, a number of parts were damaged or missing in our window kits and our punch list items remain unresolved after the original installation in July of 2014. We still do not have screens for some of the windows and some are missing the little piece that allows them to be tilted for cleaning.

We escalated our issues to the ACRE’s general manager, Matt Manfred, who promptly blamed us for having “unrealistic expectations” of what a replacement window would be like. Perhaps Matt should have mentioned that to his salesman, who promised us they would be “like new” and that there was no difference in outcomes between replacement windows and conversion kits. If your expectations of new windows includes: uneven sashes, finger lifts drilled at different distances apart (on different sashes of the same bay window!), or a distinct uneven slant easily visible to anyone looking at the window then ACRE is for you. Matt promised to get back to us within 3 days with options for remedial action. After three weeks a the sum total of Matt’s response has been one “bumper” email saying, “I’ll get back to you.” Our follow-up emails and phone calls have been ignored, and it is increasingly clear ACRE and Matt hope we just go away even though he promised we would make things right. We won a default judgment for these issues in small claims court and Acre windows still hasn’t paid us.

We are posting this to protect other consumers.

ACRE Replacement Windows They did a good job - very happy. Check all reviews

We had ACRE install 12 windows and 2 doors in September 2015. Eventhough the project was delayed by a week, they did a great job and and treated our home wonderfully. I'm writing this review because I think the negative reviews here are not fair to this Company. We did a lot of research on this company and found many more happy customers than complaining customers. We checked references and spoke to people who had them do work and felt comfortable using them and are happy we did. If you dig into the details of the complaints on this site, the seem to have responded and resolved them all. I would definitely use this ACRE again.

ACRE Replacement Windows The company uses unfair tactics and fake reviews for their website and sales

The bad experience with ACRE windows begins from the beginning. We had a member of the ACRE team come to our house on July 29, 2015 to give us an estimate on 10 windows. At the time, the representative, Nick, informed us that we indeed did have faulty windows that needed to be replaced. After a high pressure sales pitch, I gave in and signed a contract for 10 windows. First of all the price was insane. I take the responsibility for that one as I should have done more homework. Although to be honest if you look at their website they have glowing reviews. (This is because as part of your deal to get a discount on the windows you have to write a review at the time of purchase, not after the job is completed.) After a period of over 4 weeks I called the company to ask when the windows would be installed. Amazingly they were able to schedule an installation. (Why didn't they call me if the windows were in and ready?) When the day came for the install, the service crew proceeded to tear out the windows only to discover that one was cracked, and another was completely the wrong size. The finished installing the damaged and incorrect windows and promised to be back quickly to repair and finish the job. Finally on 11-30-15, again after I called to figure out what was going on they came back and replaced the incorrectly sized window. It is still not the right size, but it is at least closer. They however did not replace the cracked window as they informed me that was a manufacturing issue. I was told they would get back to me to schedule the replacement of the cracked window. I had to pay all but a $1000 for the job. I want the cracked window replaced. I want people to know that the company uses unfair tactics and fake reviews for their website and sales. I will never use ACRE Windows again, and hope this will help others to avoid the mistake I made of using this terrible company.

Reply from ACRE Windows - we are sorry that we were unable to meet the clients expectations. The work is completed except for the cracked window which will be replaced under warranty at no charge to the consumer within 14 days. The assertion that reviews on our website are "fake" is completely false. We have over 150 reviews on Google, Angies List, Yelp and our own website - each one is directly from a consumer. While not 100% of reviews are favorable, the vast majority of our reviews are 4 or 5 stars. We have reached out to this consumer to attempt to rebuild our relationship.

ACRE Replacement Windows Stealing money without services done

The salesman was very nice, but we felt like when he came to our house on October 5th, he wouldn't leave until we signed a contract. He was at our home for a free estimate for close to 3 hours at night and would not tell us the estimate until hours of pretty much telling us that we won't find anything as good anywhere else. We overall felt a bit pressured into signing the contract then and there, as well as making an initial 1/3 deposit, as we were told we would only get discounts if we did that. Due to other expenses that arose after signing the contract, we contacted the company to cancel our order, and we were told that we would not be refunded our initial deposit even though our windows had not been made yet. We realize that we canceled outside of the contract period of 3 days but were upset that we would not get our deposit back, as it was a lot of money. We hope to get some of our money back.

My husband and I spoke with the manager, Matt. We apologized, as our review of the company was done in a heated moment. It was unfair of us to say 'stealing money' since they were just following the terms of their contact. We were able to come to a mutual agreement and were able to get most of our money back. We felt like we were treated very fairly. I have no doubt that the quality of Acre windows is top notch. We just had to cancel our order with them due to other new homeowner issues. We are very thankful that everyone at Acre Windows treated us kindly and were understanding.

ACRE Replacement Windows Failure to replace cracked window, wrong windows, failure to communicate, bad business practices

Here is our story. In May 2015 we signed and purchased 23 windows for a home remolding job. The property is on a corner lot and so we wanted noise reduction and went with triple pane windows. Extremely expensive windows. The day of installation 3 windows were smashed. One was cracked and still had to be installed because they ripped out the old window before the the truck with the windows arrived. To this day now October 13th, 2015 it has not been replaced! Also the initial guy measured 4 windows wrong and they had to come back. The initial scheduled 2nd appointment no one showed up or called to say they weren't coming. Very poor communication on their part and they seemed to not really care I had to reschedule or that they did not show up. They did eventually reschedule and of course made the wrong size window to fit the cracked one and hence we still do not have the replacement. I later noticed that on two of the windows I have are double glaze not triple glaze. Whenever I try to call the office or leave a message no one gets back with me. I have since discovered they utilize a finance company (Green Sky) so that they receive all of their money up front in what I would consider a bit of deception. I wanted to pay 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 cash and was told I had to use their finance company. Now I know why. They have a contract that is on the back of the form you sign stating the finance company can only withhold 500. So you as the customer lose your right to withhold funds even if the job was done wrong. My wife and I are not sure what we are going to do about this but I am writing to tell others to be very careful with this company. The windows are very expensive and personally we did not get what we paid for. The worst part is the extremely poor customer service, not returning calls, and their plain arrogance of we will fix it because we are not like other companies as a verbal statement is a lie. We had our whole house remolded a complete gut job. The windows were the first thing to go in and everything else is done now except the windows. We had new floors put in, a new kitchen and two new bathrooms, sheet-rocking of the entire house along with complete rewire and insulation as well as new baseboard heat. It is all done yet the window guys in particular Matt will not return calls or let me know what is going on except to say you will have your window in before you make your first payment. We are paying this entire bill due November 5th because if we don't you get slapped with unreal interest charges. I will file a similar complaint on every complaint board or website I can find as well as with the BBB. It could have all been avoided if they communicated with me properly and did not seem underhanded. Personally I would not recommend using this company period. It is a bad company hiding behind Anderson's good name and Green Sky finance. DO not use them! You will regret your decision if you do.

ACRE Replacement Windows Can't complete work they agreed too and won't refund deposit

Back in April we receive a quote from ACRE to remove a large window do some resizing and install a door (Anderson). We signed the contract and the salesperson was very nice and helpful. We gave a deposit at the time we signed the contract and were very excited to get the project started. An ACRE representative can out about a week later to do measurements this gentleman complained the whole time and clearly felt the sales rep sold is something he shouldn't have. After that visit we heard nothing for weeks, we checked the online tracking system only to discover their had been no progress a good 5-6 weeks after we signed the contract. When we called we got a bit of a run around and were told that we needed to find our own mason to do some of the construction, which we were uncomfortable with since the work was supposedly guaranteed start to finish by ACRE we were afraid if we had our own mason and something went wrong it would be an issue. Several weeks later after again hearing nothing we called and left multiple messages and got no call back finally after 10 attempts we got through and were told they had a mason and would be in touch, that was back in July it is now September and we still have heard nothing, we have called left messages that we would like our deposit refunded to no avail. This company has no business acumen and are thieves please think twice before contacting them, the experience has been nothing short of dreadful and we are still out nearly $3000, and being ignored by the companies "managers"

ACRE Replacement Windows Don't pay their employees

If you get a call from this company or see a job posted then BEWARE. I worked for them for about 5 weeks. You are a contracted employee so you get no money until you make sales. They set up the appointments for you for in home demos. I experienced times where I was driving to NJ only to find out my appointment cancelled and then turn around to go home and get another call to turn back for a different appointment. I made one sale in my 5 week timeframe there and they NEVER paid me. They would not answer their phone, e-mail, NOTHING. I understand every situation is different and I am not saying they do not pay their employees but if they don't like you then you don't get paid. Oh, and since I was a contractor there is basically nothing I can do about it. Stay away from this company on the job boards because if you decide to quit then they are under no obligation to pay you for your sales.

ACRE Replacement Windows They steal your money!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND YOU WILL NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN !
This is an e-mail sent to the supposed manager/ owner- MATT MANFRED
It spells it out how horrible they have been. SERIOUSLY- DO NOT EVEN CALL THEM!

To Matt Manfred,

I guess you must think I am a total ### because I have believed you each and every time you have told a lie- like every time I was told I'd get a phone call back, or when you told me that your lawyer was drafting the "release of contract" paperwork so that we can wash our hands of you and your company and that it would be e-mailed to me within a few days ( 3 weeks ago), or when I spoke with you last week- if you recall, you must have recognized my phone number from me having to call there so often that you answered personally "Hi Megan"- and you told me that you were not going to wait for your lawyer any longer and that a check was issued that day ( 6/7/13). And now a week has passed without a check.
I must say neither myself or my husband are shocked that a check never came. It can't be because you don't have our correct address because your company easily found our house when they came out 3 different times. Let me refresh your memory:
The first time was to sell us a door that doesn't exist and to collect our 1/3 of the total- ~ $1300. (You are really good at cashing checks so you have that going for you.)

The second time was the project manager who told us very casually that the door we signed a contract for doesn't exist.

The third time was to sign a new contract for another door that doesn't exist.

If you remember, on one of the few times I was able to reach you, you apologized and admitted that your company sold us a door that doesn't exist, twice. You then told me that your company does not run this way. Well, it absolutely does.

I am seven months pregnant- you think I need this stress right now? I will not give up. You cannot seriously expect to steal $1300 from us and we will just let it go. Maybe that's not a lot of money to you, but I have a door that needs to be replaced. You are now responsible for that fact that I have an unsafe door in my house for my toddler.
Again- I'm not just going to let you keep the money. Being very pregnant, I have lots of things I need to get done, but I will gladly take the time to get our lawyer involved, contacting the Better Business Bureau about you, and, if necessary, small claims court. I will also resort to contacting our local news stations to expose your ways of handling people and stealing their money. One thing I can check off the list is contacting Scott Franzke to let him know exactly what kind of company he is endorsing- I don't think he had any idea what he is representing,

Just send the check- apparently every time I try to call, you are in a meeting, or with other customers. If you are so busy, do you really need our check?

I have records of every time I've called your company, my first e-mail, and your voicemail apologizing to me, and now this spells out my frustration pretty clearly. Maybe I'm just one in a long line of customers that you are dealing with in this way. I wouldn't be surprised from the website I've read,
http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/acre-replacement-windows-misrepresentation-of-relationship-with-andersen-windows-c619243.html

I think you would have to agree that my husband and I have been more than patient with you. Please be assured that I will not give up. While I have not ever personally had to deal with such an awful company before, I have friends and colleagues who have, so I have plenty of resources and recommendations to take the necessary steps involved to get our money back.
Get it resolved quickly before I have to proceed with my above plan.

And the RealAndersenInstallerisaFRAUD is none other than the "Sales" Manager of ACRE, Mr. Frank Sannelli! Tell me good sir, why do you pretend to be part of Andersen windows when you are 100% not? I know you tell people you never claim to be part of Andersen and it is true you don't really but aren't the colors of your business the same black and orange of Andersen? And when you drive by your store on Route 309 the sign on the road does not say ACRE, does it? It says Andersen Design Center. But guess what my man, you are NOT an Andersen design center! Go to Andersen's website and click find design center and NOWHERE will you see your business. Call Andersen and ask if you are a design center and they will say NO. So to be fair while you might tell people you are not Andersen windows to their face I think you tend to create a little brand confusion with your logo, sign and the fact that all your reps and installers have Andersen shirts. So let's be fair you fat schlub and admit that you guys really tip toe on the line of right and wrong.

Oh and any [censored] can become an Andersen Certified Installer. The class is 3 days at the plant in Minnesota and costs $675 bucks. So stop pretending.

ACRE Replacement Windows Pressure sales with no way out

Was quoted a price for White French doors ($7900) on 10/20/12 but told I would not receive discount ($1500) unless I ordered that day which was significant . The next day was too late to change my mind since my credit card was already charged 1/3 of the price so I thought that I would at least get good service and a quality door. Since I live in a Condo with rsstricted laws I asked for White exterior and would paint the inside myself to match interior frame work. After multiple time calling them for appts to measure and install beginning 10/23/12 the final install was on 3/2/2013. The color which does not match the rest of the complex and is really a cream color or beige and argued that it was their Anderson white so I'm stuck with it. Also since it was a customized door when they measure I asked if they would measure the glass to fit my window treatments like the one that was replaced and they assured me that that would happen. However the door is 4 inches longer than my window treatments. I have also called repeated times to have them repair the shoddy work on the WHITE caulking on the siding which did not adhere and does not match the so called 'ANDERSON WHITE' framework. So far I've made 3 appts to no avail. They just don't show up and when I call they say that they have a late meeting or someone called in sick last minute. But unless I call to find out where they are noone in the company informs me of the 'NO SHOW'. Don't know how they remain in business but I am still at a loss for unsatisfactory work and the verbal agreements that they will tell you just to assure the sale and after that you are on your own.

I hope that someone that manufactures Anderson comes to my rescue and completes my sale with satisfaction as they have lived up to all their products in the past.

ACRE Replacement Windows Misrepresentation of relationship with Andersen Windows

Message that I sent the owners sums up my experience:
Hello,

Matt Mansford left me a message to discuss the order that my husband and I put in last night (and canceled today); however, I was disconnected when I tried to call him back. I was also disconnected twice when I called today for Acre’s fax number so I am going to try and explain my issue via email as that was the only number that I have for ACRE. I received this email address from the Better Business Bureau website.
I was contacted by your sales team and made an appointment for someone to come in and give us a free estimate on windows. The sales rep was very nice and personable and we trusted him. However, we were not ready to sign a contract as we are in the very beginning stages of looking into window replacement amid other projects that we have to complete in the home that we just purchased. We made that clear to the sales rep (Brian). Brian also made it clear that we could not be able to take advantage of your 0% interest for 5 year financing plan unless we signed the papers that night. That made me really nervous but I felt pressured to make a decision as we needed to finance this project. Brian also said that your company was a “premier installation” company of Andersen and represented the company as being a premier company of Andersen windows. Andersen was listed on his shirt and when they called to set up the appointment they said they were with Andersen Windows which is complete misrepresentation. He also said that if we didn’t sign the contract that night, the quote wouldn’t be good and we would lose all the “preferred customer” discounts (which equated to about $9K since our original quote was $38K to replace 19 windows = insanity). The quote was A LOT of money but he said that your company had a low price guarantee and that made me feel better but he did not put that in writing in our packet.
Anyways, we signed the contract as he had been there for 4 hours and it was near 11PM and I was worn out completely and didn’t feel that he was leaving anyways until we did. I really did not have too much time to crunch numbers or process all the information as he was still in our house and I was overwhelmed. I didn’t sleep much as I was extremely uneasy about the price tag (quoted $18, 956 for 2 bay windows and 3 replacement windows or quoted $28K for 19 replacement windows if we didn’t do the bay windows, we then decided to do the house in 2 parts). It became clear to me overnight that a company that did not let you digest and process the prices (or give a complete breakdown) and give you time to think it over as it is a big investment was not worth a financing deal to me- I began to realize the entire deal was shady. I should have realized that when he told me not to tell my neighbors the price that we paid for the windows. (they would have gotten a good laugh as the joke was clearly on us)
I called Andersen Windows directly in the AM and asked them to verify that the company was a premier installer. I learned that your company is not even Andersen certified (I was told by Brian that the installers went there every year for courses) and when I told the customer service the quote that I received- they said that it was absolutely not even in the ballpark of what I should be paying. Brian told me the bay windows were $6K each. If I subtract the $12K (for two) from the $19K quote and divide that by 3 windows- it is over $2K a replacement window. I called a few other companies that installs Andersen windows and they confirmed that the quote was very high. I was looking into the 400 series windows. The highest quote I received for a 400 series replacement was $900. (And these quotes were not from a Home Depot or fly by the night contractor.) That is more than half the price that I was quoted by ACRE. The Andersen rep told me the cost of the actual window was around $500-600 and installation is normally around $60-100. I told them that your company is representing themselves as a premier Andersen installation company and using ACRE interchangeably with Andersen when speaking of your company and it made me feel very misled. They recommended a few other certified Andersen companies in PA and NJ to me that I should feel more comfortable using. The rep was very concerned when I told him about my experience as I was genuinely confused when he was explaining to me that ACRE is not in their system of certified installers nor do they have any affiliation with you.

Bottom line, I am very disappointed that 4 hours of my time was wasted last night, my credit card was charged and a credit inquiry was probably made in my name. I faxed and overnighted a cancellation notice and I am assuming that my deposit will be promptly credited to my account.
Please confirm when you will be processing my credit for our down payment as per the contract as I am entitled to that back in full.

As an industry professional I cannot help but read the poor excuses offered by people for making a decision to do business and then blame the company for it. There isn't any law that says we as consumers have to do business with anyone. However there are laws that state we have the right to change our minds. I often ask people if you had a business and wanted offer incentives to do business sooner than later ...do think that would increase business? Who doesn't like a deal? Ask those same people would they like the best deal available...what do you think they would say?
Remember, if it's Pella, Andersen or any other window company none of them sell or install directly to the public and never will. You will always rely on somebody to do the job right. If you do your diligence research on any company you will find dirt as presented by the one presenting the issues. Usually it's the person who has buyers remorse no matter company of choice. You can buy cheap and expect cheap or you buy wisely and expect more and you'll get what you pay for. This has always been the truth about anything. So the next time you get three bids think of buying not blaming the company for your having made a decision to move forward or not to. These are all good people with nothing more than the good intent of honestly making a living to feed their families and be around to help you when you need them to. Ask yourself, in the case of Acre Replacement Windows Andersen, I Investigated and they are completely certified by Andersen. So in all fairness not all consumers deserve the best because they never will treat others the same way they want to be. In conclusion, the next time you buy don't cry and then lie just say honestly say why you wont comply with what you contracted without slander. No matter who buy from. Buyers beware you can get this kind of work done for any price with any product just remember ... You will get what you deserve when you get what you pay for! Good Luck

We paid them 4400, 00 for two windows on 2/26/14. Today is 6/10/14, we have two windows that are smaller in size (one is 8 inches smaller), we didnt allowed to install them. Now we are trying to get our money back. Very BAD company, very unprofessional . Very disrespectful to customers. I wish I would read about them before I gave our money to them..

We regret that this customer felt that they we misled. We have reached out to the customer to address their concerns. We try very diligently to insure that each consumer knows exactly what they are contracting for. We provide a physical sample of the window for inspection and complete a manufacturers warranty disclosure form clearly indicating the manufacturer of the products. Unfortunately, this consumer assumed that the vinyl windows we installed were manufactured by Andersen. However, since Andersen does not make a vinyl window, we use Harvey Industries products for clients who want vinyl windows. The Harvey product is of the highest quality and comes with a 20 year warranty. It is our hope that this client enjoys the benefits of the product for a long time and we regret any confusion that occurred.

I agree Acre Windows are a BAD BAD BAD Company. I have been fighting with this company since May 4, 2013. I have call several time and spoke to Kathy and Valerie and Matt and Brian about my problems that I have paid hard earn cash for. In July I call Action News and spoke to someone there to help me solve this problem. The company has been giving them the run around also. So I'm just going to take them to court I have all the information document on how many time I call them and who I spoke to and the time I call. I'm tired of calling and the people you speak to are not professional. There need to go to class and learn how to speak to customers. I thought that the customers were always right. I would not recommend them to anybody ever. I hope people get this review before getting anything from them.

ACRE Replacement Windows Inability to deliver what was contracted and poor project management

ACRE's salesperson was really great but the Project Management and follow-through was horrible. After signing a contract on June 6, 2011 I was left to chase ACRE for status updates on my project. I live in a historical home and finally on September 13, 2011 I was told by the ACRE Project Manager that the Historical Commission wouldn't approve the windows I contracted for. After getting furious and scheduling a meeting with the Historical Commission representative I called ACRE to get the drawing and specs for the origial Commission filing. It was only then during further investigation that I found out that Andersen Windows could not even manufacture the windows I contracted with ACRE for in the sizes I needed -- and no one ever tole me that that was the case. They were apparently looking at other manufactures' windows, not the Anderson with the 20 year warranty, to fulfill the job without ever getting my approval to do so. Now I'm stuck in the battle of trying to get my $5, 000 deposit back. Looks like I'm going to have to get a lawyer to do so. ACRE might be acceptable for the most simple jobs but based on my experience if you have a job that involves any complexity I would suggest that you run, run fast away from ACRE and find a company with greater competency.

ACRE Replacement Windows changed contract after signed

We contacted Acre Replacement Windows in June 2010, along with other window contractors. They underbid the rest of the contractors for the same service and we signed a contract. The product was to be delivered in a few weeks. Turns out, they decided that they couldn't do what they contracted and make it look nice. But for another $700.00, they could. We had no option to back out of the contract, even though they changed it, unless we paid a 850.00 penalty! They figured they would do us a favor and only charge us $500.00 more! What great guys. After many ignored phone calls, emails and lies they did deliver the produce 10/26/10, 4 months late and 500.00 more then contracted. Please don't use this company unless you want a whole lot of aggravation and to pay more money. Thank you for the opportunity to warn others.

Not surprised people are having a hard time getting a hold of this company. I worked there for a time and they have not paid me my last commission check and they will not respond to me. Dishonest people. Oh, and they aren't affiliated with Anderson in any way. Any contractor can pay the $600 for the Andersen Certified Training in Minnesota for a weekend and be a 'certified' installer. Do not be fooled.

The most Rudest sales people that we have come across. They tout Anderson windows.. thankfully I asked the guy to leave the house after his condescending remarks. Initial quote for 13 windows (wood) was $24, XXX (insane) and $15, XXX for vinyl. Double the other folks. The supervisor comes 2 days after the initial sales guy, and terribly rude.. trying to explain how we would "make money" but not understanding that other options also help us save money. Kept telling my father and I that "what don't you understand... don't you understand this simple math".. Mind you, my father is a PHD and I am a CSCP and head commercial operations in the US for my company.. I wouldn't exactly call us dumb. After about 10 minutes of being talked down to and basically called stupid - I asked him to just leave. Save everyone time and money. Then came and read the complaints and im happy I did that. I would never ever give them any business and in extension - Anderson windows!

The "Real Andersen Installer" above is a disgruntled former employee who now works for a competitor. In regards to the Cuniff's complaint, we regret the misunderstanding regarding the scope of work. After the detailed measurements were taken by the Cuniff's project manager, we simply made a recommendation to revise the scope of work to give the client a better appearance. Our desire was to insure a good outcome rather than simply install a job that would look out of place for the customer. We offered to either cancel the contract or do the additional work at a discounted rate. The customer decided to have us do the additional work and signed a change work order. Again, we regret the misunderstanding and hope the customer is enjoying the new door.
