Ace Hardware arrogant salesman

I would like to make a formal complaint with one of your sales agent at Ace Hardware SM Tarlac branch. The said sales agent assigned on paint corner or bosny(as what was said when I asked one of the sales agent) is very arrogant and it seems that he does not want to assist customers and he seems to be choosing customers that he will assist. I just want to let you know that any single cents that a customer will buy is still a sale and will complete your daily target. No matter what he/she wears. The arrogant sales agent made a face to me and seems to belittle customers. I am so disappointed for I was a loyal customer of yours and in fact bought a loyalty card so that I will continuosly patronize your company. I hope he will be reoriented and retrained. Thanks. Happy Holidays.

Ace Hardware official complaint against store manager/ inappropriate behavior

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing this letter to inform you of the inappropriate behavior and unwanted sexual overtones, regularly being used in the workplace by one of the managers in this company, Jamie Royer, of E&H Ace Hardware at, 7138 Fulton Drive NW Canton, Ohio 44718.

As a representative of Ace Hardware, Ms. Royer is anything but reflective of what this Company stands for, rather she is the exact opposite. Jamie portrays and welcomes unprofessionalism, misconduct and inappropriate behavior, in the workplace. She initiates inappropriate conversations, with the all-male staff team that she has been positioned to manage and often uses the Company's employee communication system, or otherwise known as, employee headsets, as the form of delivery, for her sexually inappropriate commentary, "pet names" and other out of line suggestions and jokes. Jamie sends unwanted text messages and photos, unrelated to work, to all of the employees at the store where she manages. The nonessential and completely inappropriate misconduct Jamie constantly depicts, in and outside of the workplace, has become routine and expected at work and most importantly, has created a stressful and uncomfortable space in the work environment.

Previous attempts have been made by employees, in direct conversations with Jamie, to bring awareness to the ongoing issues, the uncomfortable work environment that she has created; And to clearly express the absolute lack of interest, anyone has in engaging in this type of behavior with her or to even be subject to these type of conversations. In those moments, Jamie asks, "Are you going to report me?" The truth is, to distance yourself from the vulgarity of this entire situation is simply not possible with Jamie as the boss. Regardless to the attempts made to dismiss her misconduct, her behavior continues.

Within days, of the above referenced conversations, Jamie started giving out unexpected opportunities for training, additional responsibilities and assigning "lead roles, " to select employees, who have taken on greater responsibilities and job duties at her request, all while making promises of promotions and raises, following what she claims have been by conversations with Corporate.

Jamie has been entrusted into a position where it is her job to set a higher bar for appropriate humor and conversation, in the workplace. Instead, her behavior has created a space where the perception is, that this kind of commentary is sanctioned by the Company. Jamie misuses the authority and respect her position holds. Jamie is NOT reflective of the ethical and moral standards of the Company.

Please consider this my first formal request, that you kindly and immediately take up the matter and take any necessary action.

Yours Sincerely,

Concerned Persons

Ace Hardware employees/staff conduct and behavior.

I walked in at 6:19 and was kicked out by 6:20. I was approached by 2 employees total one almost right after the first one. I was asked if I needed any help and I politely and alluringly let them know that I was just fine and I knew exactly what I was looking for. I guess they didn't like that response because I was told to leave. I do have tattoos and some piercings and wear alil baggy clothes I guess but the bottom line is I feel highly discriminated against and profiled and I will be contacting a lawyer to make sure this situation is dealt with in a proper manner. I believe one of there names was Tony. It would be highly appreciated if someone were to contact me in regards to this matter. Thank you for your time and understanding. My name is ryan Ogden and my number is 818.669.4887.

Ace Hardware smoke alarms

I buy from your store in Manado Indonesia- I purchase smoke alarms that clearly state 10 year warranty on the box, I try and return it and the store says this warranty does not apply. If it doesn't apply dont keep the packaging ! The stores in Indonesia seem to only warranty for 30 days- this is false advertising when you sell an item and it clearly states 10 year warranty. Another famous one is lifetime warranty- what does that mean in Indonesia! submitted by jeremy- [protected]@manadosafaris.com

Ace Hardware service

I choose to shop at Ace because of the customer service. I've been a building contractor for 18 years. My family as a whole avoids Lowe's and Home Depot because of the lack of customer service. Your establishment is in a league of their own. This is why I encourage others to shop at ACE. I know that it costs more but it's a small price to pay when you can get help when you need it and not have someone look at you and say "I have no idea where they keep the caulk guns." I went in to the Sumter SC store today and saw that they were having a forty percent off sale on certain power tools. I went through the line and was hacking on my phone and didn't realize until I was out of the store that they had charged me full price. So I turned around and went to the customer service desk. He looked at me and walked back to make sure the information I was giving him was correct. I didn't get out of the store for another thirty minutes. They literally sent three different employees back to check. Made me feel like a criminal. I have never had a bad experience with ACE until
Today. It took nothing short of an act of God to get my money back. The customer service desk should have handled it themselves. Especially when they can see that it was the stores fault. Instead he checks and then sends me to stand in yet another line. Then when I get to that cashier she is clueless as to what I am talking about. Two people later and now we have to get a manager override. I was more disgusted by the fact that I felt as though if I didn't have tattoos and look like a working man they wouldn't have spent so much time making sure that I wasn't trying to pull something on them. I think that I will be doing business with Lowe's from now on. I'm going to encourage my father to take his business accounts elsewhere as well. I don't ever want to feel like I am being judged by my age, color or creed and it was fairly obvious to me today that I was judged definitely on my appearance and for that I will go the extra mile to purchase all of my building supplies, guns, ammo, hunting gear ect somewhere else.

Ace Hardware torch ace propane self ignite (28068) defective return customer-manager interaction

On Thursday September 5, 2019 at 8:33 am I tried to return a Torch Ace Propane Self Ignite. I had purchased the item on September 3rd for a project. My husband and I were unable to get the torch to ignite after the first use. When I brought it back Thursday I was met by Jonathan, who appeared to be the manager on duty. I told him I needed to return the defective product. He took the package from me and took out the torch and tried to light the torch. He was successful in getting it to light and handed it back to me and said he was not refunding my money as it was working. I was dumbfounded by his arrogance and total disregard of my explanations. I asked him to show me how he got it to work, figuring if we were going to have to keep it we needed to make it work. When he tried it again this time it didn't light, as it wouldn't for us. He tried to several times, taking it apart and others ways to fix it. After several minutes he announced that now he would refund the product It was bad enough that I felt he was calling me a liar and dismissed me in such a degrading manner. His attitude didn't get any better through the refund process. Continuing about how many people come in trying to return things that they use and that if he refunded everyones's money that came in he wouldn't have a job and I wouldn't have an Ace Hardware to shop at. He continued with the snarky comments and attitude. I was furious at this point, as if being made a liar wasn't enough now I felt I had been made to be one of the other degenerates trying to get something for free. At no point did he even apologize. I called him out on it, saying "you know you could at least apologize". His comment to that was that he was refunding my money. No sir, not the same thing. Definitely not what I would call the helpful hardware place.
No where on my original receipt did I see where sales were final or no refunds allowed. My money was refunded, only because Jonathan couldn't get the product to work. A desirable solution would possibly be able to talk with someone regarding this interaction. Perhaps having the manger/staff revisit Ace Hardwares return/refund policy and then devising a better solution for dealing with those who really are trying to take advantage of Ace Hardware.

Ace Hardware Customer service / professional conduct

Re: Do your franchisees receive customer service skills training?

Store:
Country Living Ace Hdwe
4336 Cornelia Hwy
Lula, GA 30554
Phone: (770) 869-3023

Date:
On or about Friday, August 09, 2019, at 4:30 PM.

Dear sirs:

To tell the truth, I can't figure out how this went wrong. Maybe I caught him on a bad day. Maybe he judged me on appearances and decided he just didn't like the way I looked. The manager said "what I don't appreciate... is you coming into my store and saying you bought a bad bag of deer corn." I was a customer operating in good faith. What did he expect me to say when his clerk asked "how can I help you?" I said what I believed. I said I had bought two bags of deer corn (we always buy in twos), and had just opened the second bag to discover it was full of weevils. It was literally black inside with crawling weevils. I couldn't leave the bag in my garage, so I sat it outside in the back of my truck, thinking I would trade it out. When I got to the store, I saw signs everywhere demanding a store receipt for returns. We feed some local deer behind our house, and it typically takes us about 35 days to go through a bag of corn. Because it had been a while before I opened the second bag, I didn't have a receipt, although I believed I could probably dig one up back at the house, -or possibly the store could look up my record of purchases based on my family name and phone number. We have a monthly billing account at another one of the the local Ace stores, but I didn't know if that account applied to this particular store.

I was told I would have to wait on the manager (I believe they called him either Mr. Jimmy or Mr. Gates). I waited patiently and quietly for about 17 minutes. The clerk apologized for the wait. "No problem" I said. So the manager finally came. I told him I had purchased a bag of deer corn that was full of weevils, but it had been a while before I opened it, so I didn't have the receipt on me. I said the bag was in back of my truck, and he came out to look at it. Mindful of the signs requiring a receipt for returns, I said "if you can't return or trade it, I'll buy another bag if you'll just throw this one away, -but if I were you, I wouldn't take it inside the building because it's full of bugs."

He leaned against the side of my truck, looked briefly at the bag, then looked me in the eye and said "what I don't appreciate... is you coming into my store and saying you bought a bad bag of deer corn." I was confused by his remark. I stammered "sir... I didn't cause a scene, I didn't shout or get loud (the clerk can confirm this). -All that I said is what I repeated here in the parking lot to you." He replied "My store has never carried this brand of feed corn". I still didn't have a handle on where he was coming from, and didn't believe I had done anything wrong. "Do you expect your customers to know that?" I asked. He glared at me and repeated "you came into my store and claimed you bought a bag of deer corn that was bad." Only then did I realize he thought I was attempting to steal a bag of deer corn (of all things) by swindling him into trading or returning it. Now, I am many things, but dishonest is not one of them. I am also not a crook or a criminal, and his inference angered me. I said, "look, if you're going to make an A-hole out of yourself, I'll take my business elsewhere and I will not come into your store ever again." Fine, he said. "I don't want you in my store anyway." He walked away, and I got into my truck and drove off in utter disbelief of what had just happened. This is an accurate depiction of our interaction to the best of my recollection.

Now, I should point out that neither my bag nor the ones carried inside that store had any marking or branding on them that would lead a customer to reasonably conclude they did or did not come from that store. In other words, they didn't say "Ace brand deer corn." There was nothing evident to me as a customer that I was barking up the wrong tree when I tried to return the bag. Because I have many Ace receipts for previous transactions, I also understand that Ace store receipts typically show only a stock or item number for the sale and a very brief cryptic description that no manager should expect a customer to decipher as specifying one brand of corn or another. In light of this, I have to wonder why the manager (who I assume was correct when he said his store had never carried that brand of corn) didn't smile and say "I'm sorry, I can't return or trade this item. It didn't come from my store". Instead, he had to open his mouth and intentionally insult his customer, inferring in as many words that I had lied, -that I made a dishonest attempt to steal from him, and he didn't appreciate it. And all that for a ten-dollar bag of deer corn!

As I mentioned, I don't know whether it was Mr. Jimmy or Mr. Gates, but I'd like to register a complaint. I'm certain the guilty party will remember well his remarks about the customer with the bag of deer corn. I think this man's behavior, his inability to control his temper, and his failure to mind his tongue reflects badly on him professionally, badly upon his store, and badly on the Ace brand in general. Every time I see the Ace Hardware sign I'm going to be reminded of his unnecessarily offensive treatment of a customer operating in good faith.

Best regards;
Bruce Vandiver

Ace Hardware discounting of a partial return when a discount coupon was used at purchase

I purchased 3 items totalling $16.00 over a week ago. At that time I applied a $5.00 off birthday discount coupon I received in the mail as I am a loyal member of Ace customer promotions.

I returned 1 item of the 3 over a week later. The item's price totalled $5.99. When the return was processed back to my original payment card I was asked to sign the screen on the machine and I noticed the return price was well under $5.99. It was clower to $4.50.

I asked the clerk why the amount being refunded was less than the purchase price and he told me the retrun was discounted as I used a $5.00 discount card. It immediately struck me as wrong to do this as the birthday discount card advertised $5.00 off any purchase over $5.00. The clerk added that as the card has no cash value each item on the purchase was discounted by percentage, rather than on the total. I told him that I had met the requirements of the dicount card being well above the minimum purchase still with 2 items totalling around $10.00
He then added that the system "just does it that way", and that it was accepted by most people.
I told him I did not think the policy was either correct, nor fair. I did not go on to mention that I did not appeciate him trying to single me out and make me fell badly for questioning this situation.

As I still spent more than enough to receive the full $5.00 birthday discount (and would have received it even had I spent less, I do not understand why my discount was made less than $5.00 (and now works out to $3.50), and why I was penalized even though I made a purchase within the terms of the discount.

I would appreciate an explanation of this policy, and a refund equal to the difference I was penalized when returning the 1 item.

I am now inclined to in return penalize this local Ace store for much more than what they took back from me, and will simply buy several items at another competitor instead. It's not much money but some of us do not appreciate such tricky and deceiving policies when we buy merchandise in good faith.

Thank You

I had the same issue and never got a response thru this group. I guess they didn't have an answer. Pretty sad. I was a good customer. I don't shop there anymore. Rural King has a better selection and better prices.

Ace Hardware englewood colorado

I live near your store I decided to use your coupon. It was 25% off $50 or under or 25% off one item if you spend over $50. That is punishing a person for spending more money. I think you should review this coupon it's almost something that makes you look unintelligent
I went into replace a furnace filter for one that was bigger as my furnace needed to be replaced when I bought it and because it was over 30 days they would not exchange it for me, and acted like I was trying to steal from them. Are you trying to be competitive, or do you train people to give the customers stress?

Ace Hardware wrongful Termination

I was hired at your Wadhams/Kimball Mich store, after just three short shifts totaling 14 hours I was terminated. The General Mgr Mike Williams told me I was terminated and said he didn't have to tell me why. I attempted to discuss it and he said he didn't have to. I had only possibly 5 minutes of interaction with him before my termination. Several people said I was doing fine and was actually picking up on my duties better than someone hired at the same time. I was told that Mr Williams has done this same thing where for some unexplained reason he develops a personal dislike of someone and fires them for no apparent reason. it may be too late for me but perhaps the next person will get a fair shake

Ace Hardware Wrongful Termination

I was hired at your Wadhams/Kimball Michigan store and after just 3 short shifts totaling 14 hours I was terminated. the General Manager Mike Williams told me I was terminated without any explanation. I tried to discuss it and he just said you are terminated and I am not telling you why. The three people I worked with said I was doing fine and was actually better than another new employee (admittedly I was not perfect) . I was also told that Mr Williams has a habit of disliking people for no apparent reason and has done this before. I only had possibly 5 minutes of interaction with Mr Williams. All I want is a fair chance to prove myself. While it is to late for me maybe the next person will get a fair shake.

Ace Hardware debbie/cashier and the rude staff

Today June 28th at 6:21 PM my nephew rented a mini rooter to unclog our septic tank initiating to do so the equipment was not doing what its suppose to do. Being a motorized equipment it was just not working so my dad told my nephew to call the store before they closed to exchange or return the person who answered said it had to be done manually not sure why they said that because clearly it has a motor. My dad, mother and nephew end up going to the store only to get ganged up on by the staff. Debbie continued to say that my dad and nephew were just not using the rooter the right way at this point yes my dad was irritated at how they were being treated and was voicing it when a customer in the store got involved and then the rest of the staff came and started yelling at them i know for a fact that's not any form of professionalism we will never EVER go to that store again. Debbie and all the staff need to get checked.

Ace Hardware unacceptable delivery

I placed an order for a shed - and was notified MY ORDER SHIPPED on 6/24. I assumed that meant it was on its way to me. That was absolutely NOT TRUE. See order info below. You advertise "free shipping for ACE Rewards members" ... and I was charged $190.44 for shipping! It is now 6/28 - 12:20 PM - no shed, no call.

I called Ace customer care yesterday to find out where my shed was (since I was told it would be here yesterday, 6/27). The lady who helped me was WONDERFUL (name - Sanika? Shanika?) Not sure. She stayed on the situation and called me back with the name of the shipper - A Duie Pyle - a tracking number and a phone number to contact them. I then called the shipper - to be informed that my delivery required a phone call FROM ME TO THEM telling them when to deliver. Interesting - unfortunately, I never received a call from ACE telling me who the shipper was and that I had to call them? I thought it was shipping from an ACE warehouse!

So - I'm told by shipper co. shed will arrive today and it's "curb delivery." Asked what that meant - they drop it at the curb, literally. Well, I'm a 66 year old lady with no family to call upon to move it to the back yard. The box will be over 100 lbs. If I open the box at the curb, take one piece at a time to the back yard, the box would be gone from the curb by the time I got back to get the 2nd piece.

This is an absolutely unacceptable shipping option - and ACE needs to be more forthcoming about their shipping practices. I would like ACE to honor their "free shipping" claim for this order and refund $190.44 because they absolutely dropped the ball and never informed me that my shed was sitting in a shipper's warehouse waiting for me to call them to arrange delivery. BTW - this shipper has a reputation of holding onto items for 7 days - at which point they start charging the person waiting to receive what they ordered Storage Fees. If I hadn't called when I did to check status, guess I'd be calling my attorney - because ADP would not be collecting storage fees from me.

ACE needs to revamp their shipping process ... in a hurry. Your consideration is appreciated.

Ace Hardware cashier, Nikki M.

Today June 4, 2019 at 2:15 pm My daughter that is 5 months pregnant, my 3 year old granddaughter and me went shopping at Ace hardware at 12157 5th st. yucaipa Ca 92399, we live in this town and love this hardware store we shop here very often since we live near by, the customer service is always excellent until today. I placed an order of bricks to be deliver at my address and it took a while plus i had to return some items, and my daughter was in line after me and a couple of customers behind her, when it was her turn to pay my grand daughter want it to slide the credit card and my daughter allow her to do it the cashier since then started rolling her eyes and acting rudely, when we were exiting we hear her apologizing to the other customers, and my daughter went back because she forgot her credit card in the counter, I stayed outside with my granddaughter, my daughter came back crying I ask her what happen and she said the cashier was saying I hate when we have this kind of customers and talking bad about us. I got really mad and went back and told her that if she doesn't like dealing with customers she should find another job. I rarely get mad but i was shaking because seeing my pregnant daughter crying broke my heart. I believe that a person that works in customer service should be respectful with the customer, little kids sometimes are tired and misbehave a little but It wasn't my daughters fault that it took longer in line it was me ordering the bricks and doing the return. I would like to see that some action is taken regarding this cashier. Nikki M.

Ace Hardware a lawn mower and failed to honor the guarantee of a hassle free return

I bought and still have a receipt for a lawn mower. I used it 3 times and the motor went out. I called the store first and told them if I could return or exchange the mower. I was told if I had a receipt it be no problem. So I go to the store and the owner said he wouldn't do a return. So I feel like he won't honor a guarantee even though the receipt says "keep receipt for a hassle free return.

Ace Hardware the store manager is extremely rude to is team

Hello my name is Paul Traylor and I'm a current ACE Hardware rewards member [protected]. I just thought you should know that I will no longer go into my local Ace Hardware store due to your Current Team Store Leader that is titled as a General Manager his name is David Carlson. The store that he is the manager is in Allen Park, MI
The address is 15819 Southfield rd. Allen Park, MI 48101 and the store phone number is (313)382-2401. The last couple of times I've been shopping there David has been extremely rude to his team members and finally he got underneath my skin enough to write you this complaint I pulled a couple of team members aside and asked them how they like working at this store and the company as well. Their reply was that the company is the best. But their Manager is so rude and manipulating and makes them all have anxiety when they know they have to work on David Carlson's shift. They also made a comment that they had the best Assit Manager in the world and he was so bad to her that she put in a transfer to another close by store but they all miss her dearly! When I went in and tried to ask David a few questions about a couple of different items that I needed and didn't really know how to go about it he was completely rude! He made it very clear I was just DUMB and WASTING HIS TIME! That's not cool I spend a lot of money with your company and I'm sure he's doing this to all your other customers and even your team members say I'm exactly right! Please give me a follow up email of what has been done and I will even follow up to see if anything has changed after with your really great team mates at that store!
Thanks
Paul Traylor

Ace Hardware parking u haul trucks & trailers in the wrong parking spaces

My back yard is 4 shops away from the back door of ace hardware. And they just recently aquired numerous uhaul trucks &trailers which they park behind my house. I asked the manager if he could please park the trucks&trailers behind ace hardware. He said yes we can move them and that they are not in an ace hardware designated area. 3weeks go by they are still behind my back yard. So I called and they said again yes they will move them.3days later I watched them park another trailer behind my house, I told the ace employee that I was the one complaining and could you please park by his store and he ignored me. I then called again and the lady on the phone said that the uhaul being parked was from someone else not ace hardware I said I can see the man in a red ace hardware vest parking the trailer, she said she will have the employee move them. 4hrs. Later they close for the day and the trailers are still there. Me and the wife sit in backyard watch the gardens we have. We dont want to see uhauls. The other yards have brush/bushes to hide parking lot that are behind ace hardware my yard is open to parking lot. I would like ace hardware to park all the uhaul trucks behind there store in there spaces and not behind my backyard creating an eye sore for my wife and i. The ace hardware is located at 30130 lakeshore blvd. Willowick, ohio 44095 phone# 440-833-4545. Thank you for the time.

Ace Hardware entire store and staff

When we moved to Corona de Tucson, AZ 2 years ago we were excited to see an Ace Hardware only a couple of blocks from our new home. That excitement died quickly after our first visit to the Corona Ace store. The store was half empty and the staff was borderline rude and lacked knowledgeable about what was in the store and merchandise usage in general. They told my husband, who has been in construction for over 50 years, items he wanted didnt exist, then he would find them after searching the store. Most of the time they are out of what you're looking for. Today their paint dept only had 2 tubes of interior/exterior caulking. This is only one small example of a constant state of the store. I refuse to shop at this store and will drive to the other store on Houghton rather than shop st the store 2 blocks from my home. My husband, however, keeps trying thinking it's going to change. I am writing this letter to inform you that this store is a blight on the corporate Ace Hardware name.

You husband seems smarter than you. He does not mistake not knowing an answer as rude. Why did he marry you in the first place? Was he drunk?

Ace Hardware paint

I purchased a gal of eggshell paint from my local Ace. After the paint dried I noticed the shine, it was not eggshell. The can said eggshell but it was not. I took the can back and the store owner said it was not warranted. He did not even open the can to see it. He went through the spill about how eggshell looks. I know what it looks like! I have used eggshell many times. I want to be reimbursed for the can and for labor to repaint it. Something is wrong with this can or lot. Please help

Ace Hardware paint (eggshell)

I have been painting all of my life and understand the difference between eggshell, flat, simi-gloss and gloss paint. I started painting my laundry, closet and bath using a good quality Lowes paint (eggshell). I ran out and needed to go to our local Ace Hardware to get a matching eggshell. After the paint dried it had a shine to it and not at all like the first can. This can shows eggshell but there is something wrong with it, it is NOT eggshell. I took the can back to my local store and the owner stated that it is because of the different brands. I felt insulted because I know paint! He could not offer me a solution that is why I am complaining to you.
