AARP Services uber

I needed a ride to down town Phoenix.I live in Mesa, Az..So I went on the internet to get a ride. They told me how much it is one way and then click here for a ride.Nice try, it told me how to get their app on my smart phone.Sorry I don't have one, just my old flip up for emergencies.Try to find a phone # no go.No smart phone no ride.I'm on SS and can not affort these high tech items.I called taxi cabs, but their price is totally out off my budget.Light rail?No way, it's 110 in the shade, with my health and age, a total no go.Many of my fellow seniors are in the same boat.Maybe you can talk to UBER and give us a phone # so we can ride too.

AARP Services membership and telephone customer service

I've repeatedly contacted aarp about the wrong names on the membership cards i've been sent. First, I received 2 cards for my husband and myself. My husband's name was correct, james p. Jamison, but for some reason, my came as jane jones! I sent the cards back advising that my husband had passed away, and that my name is janet l. Jamison. Once again, I got the same cards back. Once again I sent them back with the same information. Then today, I got just "my" card in the mail. This time they at least got my first name right, but still janet l. Jones. So I called to get it corrected. I got "amber". I told her what i've gone thru. She said that it's better to call to get something corrected than to mail in the problem. Why can't aarp be competent with the mail? She said i'd receive the card in 2 months. Told her I am going to ireland in 2 weeks and need the card. She said she could email a copy and I could print it out. Told amber my printer isn't working so could she send it us mail. "no." "why?" because of hippa laws. Advised her that i'm a clinical social worker in private practice and i'm very aware of hippa laws and if a patient wants their personal information, I can send it to them in the mail. She said she can't. I asked her if she could expedite the card to me. "no. We send it out to the printer and we don't have any control as to when they send it out." told her i'm not great with technology and don't understand why aarp couldn't print a copy of it and mail it out to me. Then she said there are different ways to get the information. I told her i'm not really good at technology. "you'd be surprised how many people can get the information." she talked over me throughout the conversation as though she were waging a war of words. I addressed that it sounded like she was inferring was that I wasn't capable enough to get this done.
"no. That's not what I said. I was talking about ireland. (what?) then she stated that aarp is paperless so you can't print it out and send it to me! So what are the real reasons you can't send it to me? Hippa? Paperless? What's the next excuse amber would give me?
I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me I can't.
Great customer service, aarp.

AARP Services travel bag promotional

I, too, thought this would be a practical and good-sized bag. When it arrived, the mailing envelope was so small that I didn't even know what was inside. I unfolded the "bag" and have yet to figure out how to wear/use it! It is the size of a camera bag, for those of you who remember that,

It was time to renew and so the bag did not sway me, but I was disappointed in the product. I believe I have gotten other nicer promotional gifts and this was certainly a let-down.

I received the offer today also. If you saved the flap on the envelope that said "Coupon: keep for your records" on that below picture of the tote it has the dimensions (18"D x 7.25"D x 11.5H. A tote that size is nice for carrying.your. drink, sunscreen, passport and any incidentals you may need during your outing for the day. I'm not trying to be snotty, I just wanted you to understand it was called everyday versatile tote. I have something similar from Hobby Lobby that cost $25. I got it to put all of my 5yr old granddaughters art supplies in. Color books, contact paper, sketch pad, lrg and small note books, paint dobbers, water colors, tons of markers, 24 twistable crayons, 50 short color pencils, glue stick, pencil sharpener, tape, and scissors. Oh and markers are in a hard pencil case.
So just think of all the things that could be put in it. You can put toiletries in it for home and travel so it convenient. Look at the bright side it's free! If you don't want it you can always send it to me. I'm planning on joining AARP and getting mine. Love anything to help with organizing all my stuff.

AARP Services defensive driving course

6.14.18, spent several hours calling 800-350-7025. Four phone calls, (quartisha, naomi, jaclynn). I purchased on-line defensive driving courses for myself and my husband. Acct [protected] 3 receipt 149424 $34.95. My husband gave permission to naomi to speak to me on his behalf. I have poa. After 3+ hours, I was told my computer will not support theses courses. I asked for a refund, jaclynn would only refund $24.95 w/o my waking my husband to get permission for a refund. I was told a supervisor was not available. This is crazy.
If a don't receive a complete refund, I will not pay. I will not renew w/aarp. I have been a member for 19 years. A complete evening wasted.

AARP Services renewal offer

I received a renewal deal from AARP in March 2018 with a free gift of a travel bag. I paid to renew my membership early, but never got my free gift. I called AARP and they said they would get one out to me. Yesterday (5-21-18), I received my free gift, but it is not what I was promised. It is some kind of organizer. I renewed early based on the free gift that I was promoised. I called them today (5-22-18) and was told that I would have to renew again, ie: pay another renewal fee to get the free gift that I was promised. I believe this to be a scam. They never sent me the first gift, and then sent the incorrect gift, then told me it was past the deadline and that I would have to send in more money to renew to receive the free gift I was initially offered. SCAM!

AARP Services consumer cellular/aarp

I rec'd a letter from Consumer Cellular using AARP logo "Low Prices, No Contracts & Award - Winning Service 100% Risk- Free" which was far from the truth. I was informed I could get a phone from Target which I did - Paid cash for it $135 with tax. I wanted to keep the same phone number that I have with Great Call; the nice salesperson told us we could get activated after getting a pin# from Great Call. That I typically would be invoiced for balance each like Great Call. Waiting to establish a pIn number; I call Consumer Cellular to get assistance to transfer contacts from old phone. I got a sales promotion for a high price service for the elder to call and visually contact family. The Representative was Christina; asked a lot of id questions to dob, ss# and informed us that all we need to do is call on the same number and they could request transfer of old phone with no auto pay. We did finally got the pin. I recalled to finalize the transfer from great call to consumer cellular; so, I called Consumer Cellular. It was answered by Michelle who abusively said she did not handle activation and transferred me to an Angel; who was very rough with me and said that I did not call because there was not recorded of it. She asked for all kind of personal information again. She made fun of all the individuals with my Hispanic name; made me feel inferior thru-out the repeat demanding full ss#. At the end, she demanded a credit card for auto-pay. Making the transaction a one side contract - I did offer a cash down payment as hold for more 3 months. I asked for a reason why I could not pay monthly (in advance) if need be. I have a great credit score; but she would not tell me why except that her computer made the determination. I requested under present credit review law a copy of the credit bureau report for refusal. She said no. I requested a supervisor who was Lindsey #4245; she was the same an Angel word for word and even place information that was never spoken to Angel. So, I asked for another supervisor Barbara #4980. She thought it might be locked credit report due to ID protect that I had. Although, more pleasant, she would not consider the elderly consumer cellular point of view of creating an open one sided contract by giving the firm an unlimited use of credit card. I felt abused and mistreated as an elderly. I see this firm as abusing/misrepresenting firm which should be investigated by FTC and FCC. I have never auto paid for phone service. This is a scam for the elderly. I am very disappointed with AARP for promoting and supporting a questionable company. I strongly believe in paying my bills and after all this years, do not desire the treatment by this firm. I did returned the phone to Target, who I found understanding and the treatment by Consumer Cellular unusual.
The monthly bills would have been $28.50 plus tax. Too bad for Consumer Cellular in not having faith in responsible elderly persons and not having fair credit practices.
Thank you,

AARP Services flying with american airlines

As a 85 year old person who used the airline mobility service, I had a 10 minutes to connect to a flight from san diego to
Tlh connecting through dfw airport. The connecting time was supposed to be 58 minutes. The mobility service had to
Race through the airport to get to the flight so I boarded without time for food or personal needs.
I experienced the same thing on the return from thl to sd through dfw airport.
I want people with disabilities to be aware of the problems flying with american airlines through dfw the allotted time
Is barely sufficient to make a connection. So if you have any delay in departure you are sure to miss your connecting flight.
I strongly feel that aarp should make people aware of this problem.

This is in no way AARP's fault. Flights get delayed all the time, it's either due to weather or the airlines. And when your flight is cancelled, you get seats on the next flight with available seats. Get a grip on yourself.

AARP Services godaddy has hijacked my domain and shut my website down

On February 6 or 7th 2018, I contacted Go Daddy online to renew my domain name for two years in the amount of $50.32. The payment would not process. There appear to be a glitch on their website that would not complete the transaction. *(When I pressed the button to process the payment it turned gray and indicated it was processing for over ten minutes but would never confirm). I decided to disconnect form the website and try another day. The following day I got a call from a Rep at Go Daddy who said he noticed I was attempting to make a payment and asked if I still planned to renew my domain name. I explained what had happened and told him I would try again in a few days, (since I had time before my renewal date of March 17th.) That was on February 6 or 7 (not sure of the date but my Bank shows the payment went through on February 7th).

In the meantime on February8, 9, 11 and 13th I got an email from Go Daddy Subject line stating: Complete your order today: Plus a 25%coupon code. It indicated my cart still showed my domain renewal and private domain registration was still waiting to be renewed.

On February 16th I tried to make the payment again it would not process so I phoned Go Daddy and explained that this was the second time I was trying to make the payment on line to renew for two years and it was not going through. The Go Daddy Rep said no problem He could help me with that. He went away from the phone without asking any questions and returned to say okay it has been processed. I was surprise that he was able to process it since I was paying through my PayPal account and he didn't ask for any additional information. In spite of my apprehension I was relieved that the payment was made and my 2 year renewal was processed. After talking with him I checked my bank statement and found a payment was processed on February 7th. I called back immediately on February 16th within five minutes. The rep said he could not correct the mistake and in addition a third payment had also gone through. He told me he would do me a favor and refund one of the payments the Rep had processed but that was the best he could do. I would be paid ahead for six years and he would eat the cost for the last two years. I told him I didn't want any favors just refund those last two duplicate payments! He took no responsibility for the duplicate payments. I ultimately had to hang up. A Go Daddy Rep originally looked at my account and never acknowledges the renewal payment was made on February 7th. I feel Go Daddy tried to deliberately up sale me and is trying to get away with it. in the meantime I contacted my Bank and they reversed two of the charges. GoDaddy has since kidnapped my domain preventing access to my website. I need them to reinstate my domain since it is renewed for two years

AARP Services bank of america - home mortgage loan

Trying to resolve erroneous late fees/overdue payment with BOA
In August, 2017 my home mortgage loan was transferred to Bank of America. My August and September, 2017 loan payments were applied correctly for the first two months. The issue began in October, 2017. I began receiving statements stating that I owed a late fee. I contacted the Customer Service department in which that stated, my payment was received timely and that I did not owe a late fee. They stated that the October payment was applied incorrectly (applied only to principal and not interest). Stated the problem would be corrected within 24-48 hrs and the fee would automatically fall off (this never happened). I received a statement dated December 27, 2017 stating that I am overdue for December, 2017 payment. My December payment was paid and cleared on December 5, 2017.
I have tried unsuccessfully for the past 4 months to get this matter resolved. I have contacted Bank of America customer service ten times within the last four months. I have written letters, even gone to my local BoA location to no avail. Each employee that I have spoken to agree that I do not owe a late fee or overdue December payment. However, I am at a lost why this matter cannot be resolved.
I have an Request ID# [protected] (given to me by one of BoA representatives) HELP!

AARP Services getting a refund from old flood ins. company

American National P& C company was our old flood insurance. They were charging us 3700.00 for a year. It was a surprise to have our house payment go up by 300.00 because of it. We are both on disability and have a limited income so this hurt quite a bit. We found a much better company for 500.00 a year with the same coverage. But when we tried to get the remaining refund after we finally got them to cancel they refused. We talked with our mortgage company for help and even they said that the old company could not do this. We want to put the amount in our escrow to help make our house payment easier. The refund amount is around 1700.00 Can you please help us or make sure this does not happen to any one else.
Thank you

AARP Services monarch dental

I had a total extraction of all teeth on 5/30/2017 by Dr. Gopi. I was not properly sedated; therefore I could feel the extractions. I screamed out in pain multiple times and he still failed to sedate me further. He then never followed up with me after the surgery until I expressed my concerns with the office manager this past week (5 months later). I did reach out to Dr. Gopi directly expressing my concern, but have yet to receive any response.

I was seen by dental tech's after the surgery- now 25 times over the past 5 months. The dentist, Dr. Strickland, has examined me only 5 of those visits. I've suffered severe swelling of my entire mouth and 5 separate infections due to sores in my gums since the extraction (5/30/17). Dr. Strickland prescribed 2 antibiotics, Dr. Gopi 1 antibiotic, and my primary care physician prescribed 2 antibiotics as well. Monarch Dental directed me to wear the dentures immediately after the extraction. The dental tech that saw me on 7/17/2017 told me I must wear them at all times regardless of the sores, infection, and pain.

On 7/20/17 a second set of dentures were made because the first set were so large they could not able to fit into my mouth. The dental tech's have worked for hours at a time over the span of 17 separate visits since 7/20/17 to get these dentures to fit, and have had no progress. I've continued to endure great swelling throughout my mouth and the infections listed above. The only way I'm able to wear the current dentures is for short periods amidst great pain with all the sores and they still do not fit my mouth.

This has kept me from being able to work. I'm a professional oboist, both teacher and player. I'm unable to form my mouth in any kind of embouchure to play or teach the oboe solely due to this treatment. It has rendered me incapable of working in this capacity, causing me to lose past, present and future wages.

Due to this malpractice and neglectful care I've received at Monarch Dental, I am requesting a full and complete refund. If they do not reimburse me, I will be forced to report Dr. Gopi, Dr. Strickland, and Monarch Dental to the Texas Dental Board.

I received a bag but it was so small it could have passed for a child's play bag. I gave it to a friend of mine and she went to look at the current post advertising the so-called travel bag and agreed and so didn't decide to join after that. Sorry AARP. Shame we can't sue them for false advertising.

AARP Services over 30% increase in auto insurance for this year!

Auto increase over 30% for this yet!Hartford said"increase do to increase in health and auto parts cost".Ridiculous, will purchase new auto and home insurance!I am totally disabled veteran!Shame on AARP!This is another example of how seniors are taken advantage of!Reminds me of cable companies who bate you in with cheap rate for a year and then increase your cost by over 30%!

AARP Services consumer cellular phone

I bought a Consumer Cellular Android Cell Phone. Now, I need a case to protect this new phone.

I have looked in probably 5 stores that would sell cell cases but no one has the right case to fit my particular phone

I called AARP and was advised that they had the case but I had to buy a charger with it. I could not purchase this case alone. This was going to cost me $30.00 for both.

I have a charger that is compatible with my phone WHY SHOULD I PAY $30 dollars when I just need the case which I am sure is only $6.00.l

I thought AARP is suppose to save seniors money. This is very wrong and someone should look into it.

AARP Services voya reliastar life insurance of new york

I need help and not sure who to contact. I am 75 years and 9 months old. At age 46 I took out an insurance policy at my work place Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York. The company is RELIASTAR now calling themselves VOYA. Woodbury, NY PO Box 122 and Administrative office Minneapolis, MN [protected], phone [protected]
Every month since age 46 they deduct from salary and when I retired I have them draft the $38.22 from by bank account. They took a payment up to two days ago. Today I got a letter telling me they will lapse the policy unless I send them $333.22 immediately. I called and spoke with a TRACY who said that is how insurance works. I am now old and the $38.22 doesn’t account for anything as when you get old cost goes up. Plus, years ago I borrowed $600 and did not repay it.
There is nothing in the Insurance policy that said the cost would go up as I age. Miss Tracy said they send out statements each year that said so. I am at my address 6 years and never received any such letter.
What do I do? Can they just rob me over the years and drop the insurance for no reason? Can I demand they refund the premiums they have deducted /draft my account over the years?
I will send a copy of my letter to your Tallahassee office as well.
Please help me
